Author's Note
So I'm sure by now most of you have seen the MLP short titled "Ail-icorn" on Hasbro's official youtube channel. It was really funny. Except I didn't much care for the way it ended. I don't think Twilight's "friends" would just abandoned her when she's weak and helpless. So I decided to write my version of the story immediately following after.
This will be an all age appropriate, slice-of-life style, one chapter story that focuses on the Mane 6, Spike, and the CMC caring for baby Twilight. There is some minor diaper usage but there really isn't anything violent or graphic in nature at all in this story. I really tried to stay true to the show and keep everypony in character.
Lastly, I really rushed this one. So please if you find any typos or mistakes please let me know so that I can fix them!

Babycorn
The crying was piercing. It could carve the crystal off of the castle walls if it wanted to.
Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Friendship and principal of the School of Friendship, had just reverted back into a foal after having been given a home remedy from Zecora. Spike was sure of it. The eyes, mane, and coat all eerily reminded Spike of his adoptive mother.
"Talk about role-reversal," Spike muttered beneath the loud sobbing.
His friends were with him when it happened but as soon as that wailing hit their ears they were quick to get out of there. A bit uncharacteristic of "friends", wouldn't 'ya say?
Spike tried rocking Twilight from side-to-side "Come on Twilight, it's just a side effect. It shouldn't last very long." The baby alicorn simply continued to cry. "Maybe you're tired? I-I could sing you a lullaby!
"Hush now quiet now it's time to lay your sleepy head,
Hush now quiet now it's time to-"
"BWAAAAAHAAAAAAA *hic hic* BWAAAAAAA!" Spike was too panicked to remember how to sing in key. She either clearly wasn't tired or didn't like Spike's singing. Or both.
"Oh man this is terrible! I mean I don't even have any supplies to take care of her with." He gulped. "I'll definitely need to pick up a few things."
He shifted her over his shoulder while attempting to reason out a plan. "I'll need formula, bottles, blankets, pacifiers. Do we even have any milk left?" He started pacing emphatically which was not helping the crying situation in the slightest. "And where will she sleep?" Spike asked gesturing to the giant royal mattress that was Twilight's current bed. "There's no way I can let her sleep here. She might fall out!"
Spike continued his list: "Toys, medicine, clothes can't forget about clothes. Geez where am I even going to get any of this stuff?" Spike had never foalsat an alicorn all by himself before. Whenever he was watching Flurry Heart Twilight was always nearby. Now that Twilight was the baby alicorn he was completely clueless on that stuff and left to himself. "Was there anything I'm forgetting? It feels like there's something- AH!" Spike felt the floor around his feet start to get warm and wet.
Twilight was peeing!
Just then Fluttershy rushed back in with two very heavy saddle bags. "Spike? Spike? I got here as fast as I could," the timid yellow Pegasus said panting. Fluttershy wasn't kidding. She must've flown near Dash levels of speed to get to her cottage and back to the castle in 5 minutes.
"DIAPERS! DIAPERS! DIAPERS! I need diapers!" Spike was running around in circles with baby Twilight held out arms length in front of him.
Fluttershy reached into Twily's makeshift diaper bags (which were actually her own saddle bags with her cutie mark sewn on them) and quickly pulled out a diaper and wipes. They were going to need a lot of wipes!
Fluttershy grabbed Twilight from Spike and quickly laid her down on the bed. She swiftly opened up the diaper, in this case a cutely printed disposable one and pressed it taught against Twilight's nethers.
"Oh my..." Fluttershy could feel the diaper filling up with the offending urine. "I really should have grabbed some cloth diapers but I was out." Fluttershy fastened the tabs of the diaper around baby Twilight's waist snugly, taking a hoof behind the leg gatherers to make sure they were facing out. "Cloth diapers are better for the environment after all." Fluttershy said in a matter of fact.
Fluttershy smiled down at Twilight both to admire her work and how cute her friend looked in diapers again. The diapers had tiny baby animals printed on them but were mostly white. They were cloth backed plastic that made extremely loud crinkling noises when moved. The landing strip where the Velcro tabs fastened had pictured a baby bunny holding up some blocks with numbers on them. "Oh well, these diapers are great on leaks and look so cute!" Fluttershy grabbed some wipes and began wiping off parts of Twilights hooves and legs where pee was. She wiped off much of her own wings too as those are what she used to block the stream of urine once she began changing Twilight.
"There! All done!" Twilight was much calmer now. The warm diaper snugly fastened around her bottom would need changing soon but for now it was nice and relaxing. Twilight sniffled and smiled through some stray tears at Fluttershy. "I wonder if she knows it's me or not?" Fluttershy pondered while lifting baby Twily back into her arms.
Just then Fluttershy heard her name.
"Uh, Fluttershy do you think you could pass me the wipes?" Spike asked dripping wet with- well you know.
"Oh my goodness Spike you're soaked!"
The shy yellow pegasus set Twilight on her back between her wings and immediately proceeded to grab half a dozen wipes. She started pawing all over the drake's face, arms, belly and legs.
"Pbbt! Yuck! Fluttershy you don't have to wipe my face for me. I can do it myself," Spike was recoiling in disgust. Spike would hate it whenever Twilight would insist on washing his cheeks. But maybe if the baby dragon would wash his own face every once in a while she wouldn't have to nag him about it?
"Oh sorry Spike. I guess I forgot." Fluttershy handed the box of diapy wipes over to Spike.
Spike wasn't really upset about it. He was more concerned with getting the urine out of his scales. Besides he knew how Fluttershy was. She was a caretaker by instinct and he knew she was only trying to clean him up because she felt bad.
"It's ok Flutters," Spike calmed himself down. I mean to be fair you'd be on edge too if your adoptive mother regressed back into a foal right in front of your eyes in a matter of seconds. Fluttershy was the one acting uncharacteristically calm. "I really appreciate you coming back. I'd still be swimming in Princess pee had you not shown up."
"Oh no problem Spike! You know I'm happy to help. And I couldn't just leave you to care for an alicorn foal all by yourself! There's no telling how long this side effect will even last."
"Don't remind me," Spike retorted throwing the balled up wipes in the trash with all of Twilight's used tissues from when she was still sick.
Twilight was still happily resting between Fluttershy's wings playing with them while they weren't in use. The element of kindness didn't seem to mind. In an odd way with Twilight's soaked diaper butt sitting between her wings it was almost like she had a warm heating pad on her back. A gross, warm heating pad.
"What all did you bring Fluttershy? I was considering going out shopping just before you got here," Spike said. Then added, "we'll definitely be needing more diapers and wipes. Oh and powder too!"
Fluttershy jumped at the sound of the word "powder".
"Oh I almost forgot about the powder!" Fluttershy reached back into her saddle bags mouth first and pulled out a small container of foal powder. "If she's going to be sitting in that for a few hours we should at least make sure she doesn't get a rash. Here can you hold her for a second?"
Spike held Twilight out in front of him. Fluttershy used a hoof to extend the back of Twilight's diaper, which was sagging considerably from the wetting, and sprinkled a copious amount of powder on her backside.
"Oh nice. So we do have powder? I forgot how pleasant it smells."
Fluttershy closed the lid of the container through a cloud of white powder. "Well I should hope so. It's lavender. Isn't it just so calming and nice?" Fluttershy let the diaper snap back against Twilight and put the powder on the nightstand next to where Spike set the wipes.
"Say Flutters what else have you got in those bags? We'll need to start a list before we go shopping." Spike said while Twilight started grabbing at his ears.
"All kinds of things," Fluttershy delicately walked over to the middle of the floor where she set Twilight's impromptu diaper bags and began poking through them. "Let's see here I brought some toys," Fluttershy held onto a few blocks with her mouth before setting them down on the floor next to her. "Some books because I know how much Twilight likes to read. Oh a blanket!" Fluttershy dragged out a baby blue silk blanket that appeared to be no bigger than Spike himself. "There were the wipes, the powder, I've got enough diapers to make it through the day," she continued pulling out 5 more Silly Filly diapers with the baby animal print designs. "Oh and a few pacifiers. I wasn't sure which one she would like so I grabbed a dozen. Babies can be so picky after all," Fluttershy giggled into her hoof.
"Do you think maybe you could hand me one of those pacifiers, Fluttershy?"
Fluttershy looked over at Spike who's ears were being slobbered on. Twilight had stopped crying but only to make room for Spike's soft ears to slobber all over.
"Oh certainly Spike! Here try this one," Fluttershy handed Spike a purple colored pacifier with a star on the white front button. It had two sets of air holes on the mouth guard and a handle so that a caretaker could grab onto it easily.
"Thanks."
Just as Spike was about to pull his ear out of Twilight's mouth and pop the pacifier into Twilight's Fluttershy gasped.
"Wait!" Fluttershy yelled. Well yelled about as loudly as Fluttershy has ever been known to yell.
"What is it?" Spike asked confused.
"I need to wash them off real quick." Fluttershy gathered all 12 pacifiers in her hooves and grabbed the wipes. She flew to Twilight's bathroom and dropped all the pacifiers in the sink where she immediately started running the warm water over them.
Baby Twilight started tearing up again. Having Spike's ear to chew on was actually quite soothing to her and now that she had nothing there she was beginning to feel scared again. Tears began to fall down her cheeks.
"Fine. But only for a moment," Spike put a claw in Twilight's mouth for her to suck on. Twilight forgot why she was scared in an instant.
Fluttershy finished cleaning off the pacifiers and brought the purple one back. When she returned to see Spike letting baby Twily suck on his claw she d'awwwed.
"Awwww, Spike. She likes you." Fluttershy said handing him back the purple paci.
"I wouldn't be so sure," Spike took his finger out of her mouth and replaced it with the pacifier. The pacifier immediately started bobbing up and down in a rhythmic, noisy motion. Loud suckling noises could be heard escaping the guard of the pacifier. "So far all she's done for me is peed on me and given me a wet willie."
Fluttershy laughed a little at Spike's comment. "Oh Spike you know she's just a baby. Babies can't control when they have to go and sucking on things is how babies help themselves relax. You know that. After all I've still seen you suck your claw when you sleep." Fluttershy patted the scales on Spike's head.
Spike's cheeks turned a dark shade of red upon hearing that comment. "W-w-when have you seen me do that? I don't do that so much anymore," Spike regarded the floor beneath his feet.
"It's ok Spike. You're still a baby dragon after all. I think it's cute anyways," Fluttershy offered Spike a warm understanding smile.
Fluttershy was the cute one, thought Spike.
Both the purple drake and the yellow pegasus watched as Twilight suckled her pacifier in Spike's arms. Slowly the rhythmic sucking began to still and Twilight's eye lids began to fall over her irises. She was fast asleep.
"I guess she likes that pacifier," Fluttershy supposed. "I wasn't sure if a latex or silicone nipple would be better for Twilight's teething so I grabbed as many different designs as I could find."
"How come you have so many pacifiers?" Spike whispered while staring down at his adoptive mother.
"I've started a foal sitting service at my cottage. Sometimes mothers will forget they left their pacifiers with me so I keep a bin of them in a cupboard above the kitchen counter. I've certainly collected a lot over these past few moons."
"Well where is she going to sleep? She can't sleep here. I'm worried she'll fall out of this giant bed," said Spike.
Fluttershy thought it was sweet that Spike cared so much about Twilight's safety. He really was her #1 assistant.
"I think I have an idea," whispered Fluttershy. Fluttershy cradled baby Twilight in her hooves and carefully carried her across the hall to Spike's room. "She can sleep in your bed. You're only a little bit bigger than she is right now." Fluttershy pulled Spike's favorite blue blanket back to tuck Twilight in underneath it.
"Well, I'm more than a 'little bit' bigger than her," Spike sulked at the sight of his blanky being shared.
"Oh but I just hope your blanket will be enough to keep her warm. She doesn't have any sleepwear does she?"
Suddenly they heard a burst of magic sound down the hallway.
"Yoohoo! Spikey-Wikey? Are you still here?"
"That sounds like Rarity," Fluttershy whispered.
Spike and Fluttershy slowly tiptoed out of Spike's room and gently shut the door behind them.
"Spike? I'm sorry I left in such a haste earlier. It's just that well, Sweetie Belle used to scream so much whenever I would watch her for mother and father. And now my ears are just extra sensitive. Oh you do understand don't you?" There was a pause. "Plus I brought a surprise for you. Twilight turning back into a foal inspired me to unveil my newest line in foal fashion!" Rarity levitated a giant box of what was presumably foal garments in front of her.
"Yeah come on Spike! I want to see baby Twilight! She sounds cute!"
"And that sounded like Sweetie Belle," said Spike. They were very nearly to the main entrance hall where they heard the voices coming from. At last Fluttershy and Spike arrived to the main throne room to see Rarity and her sister and a giant box.
Fluttershy spoke first. "Hello Rarity! Hello Sweetie Belle! We actually just put Twilight down for a nap."
"Yeah you two arrived here at the perfect time. She finally stopped crying."
"Well can I see her? Where is she? I want to see baby Twily! She sounds so cute!" Sweetie Belle was elated, jumping up and down enthusiastically.
"Sweetie Belle! You must keep your voice down. Didn't you just hear them say they just put her down for a nap?" Rarity scolded.
"Oh Rarity did I hear you say you brought some clothes for Twilight? She's sound asleep but I'm worried the poor dear might be a tad chilly in just her diaper."
"Did you say Twilight is wearing a diaper?" Sweetie Belle couldn't control the volume of her voice.
This time Rarity and Spike shushed her.
"Oh my yes. I've got sleepers, onesies, bonnets, rompers, socks, diaper covers, skirts, and of course some dresses! All of which are in my own patented design, hoof-stitched by yours truly," Rarity stated proudly.
Fluttershy began sifting through the box and immediately pulled out a pink and white sleeper. "This looks like it will fit her perfectly! And the design is so adorable."
Fluttershy held up a light pink sleeper with white cuffs around the ends of each leg. The crotch had a set of five easy snap buttons quite obviously for easy access diaper changes. The cotton it was woven from was extremely soft almost like it'd never been worn before.
"Ah yes that one took me forever to stitch the micro-fiber cotton fabric and get the buttons situated in the right place."
"Can we go put it on her right now?" asked Sweetie Belle still trying to control the volume of her voice.
"Sure we can. But Sweetie Belle promise me you won't scream or be loud when we see her? Spike and Fluttershy did enough getting her to fall asleep. And foals the size of Twilight definitely need their naps. Understand?"
Sweetie Belle politely nodded.
"Ok, then," Rarity smiled. "Let's see this adorable baby princess then!"
The four of them pressed down the hallway towards Spike's room where the door was left ever so slightly cracked. Fluttershy always did that so that if the baby started crying or needed anything at all they'd still hear her.
They opened the door to see the princess of friendship sound asleep with a pacifier dangling out of her mouth next to a line of drool.
Sweetie Belle couldn't believe her eyes. It was Twilight as a baby! She was about to open her mouth to scream but Spike put a hand over it.
Fluttershy very quietly pulled the blanket back revealing Twilight's very wet diaper. Twilight shifted her legs a bit as a result.
"This will only take but a moment," Rarity said levitating Twilight into the air next to the sleeper. Twilight stirred in her sleep but it was only for a second. Rarity was quick to pull the pajamas over her head and snap the 5 buttons in place in a seamless motion.
"I'll be right back," whispered Fluttershy.
Rarity placed Twilight back down in Spike's bed and started to tuck her in to Spike's blanket again.
"Here. Tuck her in this," Fluttershy handed Rarity the silk baby blue blanket. It appeared she also brought a stuffed owl for Twilight to cozy up next to. Rarity's magic carefully folded in the sides of Futtershy's blanket to Spike's royal basket and pulled it over her shoulders. A few quick sucks of her pacifier and Twilight resumed dreaming again.
"Here you go Spike. You can have your blanky back," Fluttershy dropped Spike's favorite blue blanket, the one Twilight got for him when he was very small, into his arms. "I know how much it means to you and how you don't really like sharing it."
Spike turned red again and tried to look away. "Oh, uh, thanks," he began scratching the back of his head. "I could have made an exception just this once since it was Twilight who was needing it." Spike couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed that Rarity and Sweetie Belle were both standing there watching Spike hold his "blanky". But they didn't say anything. And why would they? Everyone knew Spike was still a baby dragon. A very mature baby dragon for his age. So what if he liked to sleep with his blanket? So what if sometimes he liked to snuggle with it and suck his claw?
Fluttershy set the stuffed owl next to Twilight who instinctively latched onto it. Her eyebrows raised ever so slightly at the touch of the plushie. The group collectively let out a restrained "AWWWWWW!" They quietly tip-hoofed out of Spike's room and left the door slightly cracked again.
"So what now?" asked Rarity.
"Well I'm going to guess that she'll wake up in half an hour and be super hungry. I don't think she's eaten anything in a while. Has she Spike?"
"Not except for the soup I was feeding her earlier." Spike replied.
"I guess we'll need to go to the market and pick up some baby food," Rarity ran a hoof through her mane and checked her appearance through one of the castles many mirrored walls.
"I could certainly try to whip up something here. I don't mind making some food," Fluttershy said.
"Did somepony say 'food'?"
The four friends turned around to see Applejack standing no more than a few feet away from them with her saddle bags on. And it looks like she brought Applebloom too.
"Howdy, y'all! Where's the baby? When my big sister told me that Twilight turned back into a foal at first I thought she bucked a few too many apples on her head," Applebloom started to say. "But then Ah saw her scooping up jars of applesauce like the dickens so Ah had to see for myself."
"Hello Applebloom. I'm your big sister. The element of honesty. It's nice to finally make your acquaintance." Applejack teased.
Applebloom just stuck her tongue out.
"Twilight has been napping for about half an hour now. She could wake up any moment," Spike said. "We were just on our way to go pick up some baby food."
"There's no need. Granny Smith keeps an emergency supply of baby food in the kitchen just in case Aunty Appleseed brings the cousins, nieces, and nephews. I grabbed a hooffull of Sweet Apple Acres' applesauce too. I'd be happy to warm some of it up while we wait." Applejack tipped her hat.
"Oh thanks Applejack! That'd be wonderful," Spike cheered.
"It's no problem. I felt terrible about leaving earlier. I wasn't sure how long Twilight might be like this either," Applejack hung her head. "I figured she'd get hungry eventually and that's when I started stuffing my saddle bags full of food."
"And that's when Ah found her!" exclaimed Applebloom.
"Curious little filly she is," Applejack chuckled. "She just really wanted to see baby Twilight."
"She's so cute," said Sweetie Belle. "I almost died from cuteness. Come on I'll show you!"
"Now hold on there youngin'. Best not to be wakin' a baby up before they're ready. You better have Fluttershy or Rarity go along to make sure you keep it down."
"Fine. But if she wakes up on her own then Ah can scream right?" asked Applebloom.
"It depends on how you mean 'scream'," Fluttershy said worriedly.
"Ah mean I might die from the cuteness and scream to death."
"See when you say it that way it seems loud," Fluttershy began leading the way towards Spike's room. "Follow me girls. She should still be fast asleep."
"Don't you want to go with us Spike?" asked Rarity.
"I'm ok. I've honestly had my fill of baby Twilight today. So far I've been peed and slobbered on. You go ahead." Spike declined. "And I wouldn't want to leave Applejack to do all the work by herself."
Applejack jeered. "Work? The applesauce is already done. All Ah have to do is heat it up on this here stove." Applejack poured the applesauce into a pan and set the stove to simmer.
"You should go with Fluttershy, Rarity. You know how Applebloom can get when she's with Sweetie Belle. Fluttershy might have her hooves full with three babies." Applejack snickered.
Spike laughed at that comment. It was true the Cutie Mark Crusaders meant well but sometimes their antics were a bit... juvenile.
"Oh well alright. Do be sure it doesn't end up being too hot, darling. We wouldn't want her to burn her tongue or anything!" Rarity singsonged.
"Ah know girl. This ain't my first rodeo. Y'all know how big my family is."
And with that Rarity continued after Fluttershy, Applebloom, and Sweetie Belle while Spike stayed behind to help Applejack navigate their confusing kitchen.
Rarity walked in to see Fluttershy setting a good example for the girls and them being well behaved. They were leaning over Spike's bed watching baby Twilight kick in her sleep.
"What do you think she's dreaming about?" whispered Applebloom.
"She's probably dreaming she's the royal headmaster of the Canterlot archives or something and can't stop running between the bookshelves long enough to decide what to read," Sweetie Belle snickered into her hoof.
"She looks so snuggly wuggly in her cute little bed. Ah wish I could cuddle her," Applebloom blushed. "I've always been the baby sister. It would be nice if I had somepony younger to play with."
"Yeah I know what you mean," sympathized Sweetie Belle.
Fluttershy and Rarity both exchanged looks of sadness.
"Ah bet Fluttershy got to have lots of fun taking care of her younger brother. Right Fluttershy?" asked Applebloom.
"Oh, yes those were very happy years for me growing up. I remember when it would storm especially bad up in Cloudsdale. Mom and Dad always had such a hard time getting poor Zephyr to sleep in his own bed. And you never may have guessed it but I was never too fond of storms either." Applebloom and Sweetie Belle both looked at each other and rolled their eyes. Of course Fluttershy was scared of storms! She continued, "So I let him sleep with me in my bed. I suppose I probably babied Zephyr a bit too much when we were growing up," Fluttershy sighed. "Oh well that's what little brothers are for," the butter colored pegasus smiled down at Twilight.
Twilight was still having some sort of dream that required an awful lot of kicking.
"So how did this even happen?" Applebloom asked.
Rarity decided to answer. "Twilight had some sort of horn allergy that rendered her completely debilitated. Her horn was red, her face was red, she could barely speak or move. Poor Spikey-Wikey had tried everything. Soup, medicine, water, rest none of it seemed to be helping her for the better," Rarity paused to glance at baby Twilight who seemed to be stirring more visibly in her sleep. "Finally Pinkie Pie brought this medicine from Zecora's that she said would cure Twilight of her allergies. She drank the entire bottle and well now-"
"Now she's a baby alicorn who sucks a pacifier and wears diapers," interrupted Sweetie Belle.
"Well I don't know any babies who don't do that. You used to use a lot of diapers Sweetie Belle. A lot, a lot." Rarity bluntly stated.
Applebloom snickered and Sweetie Belle's cheeks turned a bright red.
"Did not!" Sweetie Belle lied.
"You most certainly did. I should know. I had to change you on more than a hundred occasions." said Rarity.
"Speaking of diaper changes," Fluttershy began. "I should really get her out of that wet diaper. She might leak through Spike's sheets."
"Oh you mind if Ah watch?" Applebloom asked.
"Me too! Me too!" exclaimed Sweetie Belle.
"Sweetie Belle not so loud," hushed Rarity.
"If you girls promise to be quiet I'll show you how to gently change a sleeping baby's diaper," Fluttershy left the room to grab some supplies. The fillies couldn't contain their excitement. They were going to watch the Princess of Friendship have her diaper changed.
Fluttershy came back in the room hovering with her wings. She was holding a fresh disposable diaper, a box of baby wipes, and a container of foal powder. She immediately set to work. Rarity, Sweetie Belle, and Applebloom watched over her shoulders.
Fluttershy started out by lifting the blanket off of Twilight. If not for Rarity's amazingly warm cotton sleeper Twilight would definitely wake up early. Next she unbuttoned the crotch of the pink sleeper making 5 quick snapping noises. She slowly and gently pulled back the pink cotton revealing a very soaked diaper. She definitely used it a bit more while she was napping.
"First we have to take off the old diaper." Fluttershy ripped open each side in one fluid motion while keeping one hoof taught against Twily's baby belly.
*rrrrrrip* *rrrrrip*
The sounds of the Velcro tabs being unfastened were quite loud. Sweetie Belle and Applebloom continued to stare wide eyed and with vivid curiosity. Rarity simply smiled enjoying the moment they were having.
Fluttershy again ever so gently pulled down the front of the diaper exposing the urine soaked interior. The cold air meeting Twilight's waist and bottom caused her to rouse a wee bit. But amazingly she was still asleep. Fluttershy began humming a melody while she worked. Next she grabbed the box of baby wipes and opened it. Then with her other hoof she delicately lifted Twilight's hind legs straight up into the air exposing her bottom. She took the first wipe and began wiping down Twilight's nether region and rump.
"Now with baby girls it's always very important that you wipe from the front to the back. Otherwise they could get an infection." Fluttershy lectured.
"Hey where did her cutie mark go?" asked Sweetie Belle.
"Silly filly babies don't have cutie marks," Rarity laughed.
"But she still has her wings? How does that work?" asked Applebloom.
"From the way I understand it," Rarity answered, "the side effect only regresses the physical body. Since Twilight was an alicorn when she drank it she has become an alicorn with a blank flank." Rarity smiled.
Fluttershy used one more wipe to clean that bottom. She dropped the wipes into the old diaper and with one hoof still holding Twilight's legs in the air she balled the old diaper up with the wipes inside. She set the diaper out of reach of Twilight.
"Another helpful hint, although it doesn't apply so much right now since Twilight is asleep, try to keep the dirty diaper away from your baby while you work. Babies tend to get into all kinds of nasty things if you give them any opportunity to do so. Bringing your baby a toy to play with before a diaper change is a good idea. Anything to distract curious hooves from going places they don't belong."
Next Fluttershy unfolded the fresh diaper. It had baby animals printed on it as well. However this time the landing strip pictured a cartoon fox on it holding some crayons and smiling. Still holding Twilight's legs high in the air she placed the back of the diaper underneath Twily's rump and slowly set her legs down.
"Next we simply add the powder," Fluttershy grabbed the container of foal powder and delicately sprinkled some over her private area and bottom. Because she had been wiped off so meticulously the powder stuck to her coat with little effort. "Be sure not to add too much powder as it can be harmful for babies to breathe too much in."
Fluttershy ran a hoof all over Twilight's nether region feeling a tad embarrassed she was performing such an invasive action on her friend. But it was all in good faith. After all a powdered baby is a happy baby free from rashes.
"What is the powder for anyway, Fluttershy?"
"It's because it smells good Sweetie Belle," replied Applebloom.
"Not quite Applebloom. Baby powder is used to prevent diaper rash. It keeps moisture from getting in to baby's coat and developing into a mean old nasty rash from using the diaper."
"Ohhhhh…" the two young fillies replied in unison.
"So the fact that it smells so good is just a bonus?" asked Sweetie Belle.
"You could say that." Fluttershy winked. "Now we're at the final step: fastening the fresh diaper on."
Fluttershy, satisfied that Twilight's private area was dutifully protected, pulled the front of the diaper up between Twilight's hind legs. With one hoof holding the landing strip centered tightly (but not too tightly) over Twilight's waist Fluttershy used her other hoof to pull the left Velcro tab open and fastened it to the left side. *rrrrip* She did the same thing for the right side. *rrrip*
"And we're all done. Now all we have to do is dress the baby back up, throw the old diaper in the trash, and wash your hooves." Fluttershy snapped the buttons on Twilight's sleeper back into place and tucked her back in. Twilight was still heavily sucking that pacifier though she was moving around a bit more after all of the commotion. Still asleep but only just lightly.
Even Rarity had to admit, Fluttershy was supernatural at child care. She managed to teach two fillies how to change a princess' diaper all without even waking her up. She didn't think she could manage that even with her magic.
"Fluttershy I must say you are simply divine at taking care of babies. I wish I had your help when it was just me and Sweetie Belle. She was quite the hoofful I assure you."
"Awwww thanks," Fluttershy blushed as she picked up the heavily soaked diaper and threw it in a nearby trash can. "I started a foal caring service at my cottage. It's mostly low key right now but I've been sitting for a few more clients as of late."
"Ah'm sure those are very satisfied customers," said Applebloom.
The four of them took another moment to watch Twilight sleep. Sweetie Belle pushed the tiny stuffed owl back into Twilight's hooves. She responded by letting out a big yawn.
"Awwwwww!"
Applebloom and Sweetie Belle just might die from cuteness overload.
"I hope Twilight stays like this for a bit longer. It's a refreshing change to see her so calm." said Sweetie Belle.
"Yeah ah agree. Now she doesn't speak in long winded sentences and ah don't need a rootin' tootin' darn old dictionary to understand every other word that comes out of her mouth." Applebloom joked.
Even Fluttershy and Rarity had a laugh at that.
"Hey guys what'd I miss?"
The four of them turned around to see Scootaloo standing in the doorway.
"SCOOTALOO!" Applebloom and Sweetie Belle yelled.
Just then they heard a muffled cry come from Spike's basket. A few short hiccups followed by a loud bellowing cry.
"BWAAAAAAAAHAAAAA *hic* *hic* BWAAAAA ENNNNNN BWAAAHAAAAHAAAA *hic*"
"Shhhhhhhhh!" Rarity commanded. "Now you've woke the baby girls!"
Fluttershy lifted Twilight up and out of bed. Twilight's mane was sticking up in various spots. The pacifier had fallen out of her mouth and she threw the plushie on the floor. She wasn't just ready to get up. She wanted something.
"I think somepony is getting hungry," Fluttershy cooed. "Let's get you fed, Twilight." Fluttershy flew lightly over Scootaloo's head who just stared slack-jawed at what she was seeing.
"Sweet Celestia! Rainbow wasn't kidding!" Scootaloo exclaimed. "Is that really Twilight?"
"No, that's just a baby alicorn we found with the exact same mane and coat as Twilight and decided to bring her to the castle," Sweetie Belle sarcastically stated.
"But how did this happen?"
"Twilight took some of Zecora's medicine and she may have taken a bit too much." replied Applebloom.
"Yeah she was sick in bed with a horn allergy and Pinkie Pie brought her some of Zecora's medicine. Apparently she turned into a foal right in front of our sisters."
"That's crazy! So when can we play with her?" Scootaloo was excited to see a new side of Twilight.
"Probably not until after she's eaten. Applejack should be about done with Twilight's food." Rarity began walking out of Spike's room. "Follow me girls."
Rarity led Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo back to the castle's main kitchen where the aroma of sweet applesauce hit their noses. Twilight was still crying all though less so now than before. Fluttershy was singing her a sweet song while she rocked her gently side-to-side as she hovered just slightly above the ground. The steady wind coming from her wings was enough to make Twilight feel better. But she was still hungry.
"Applesauce is ready," said Applejack. "I also opened a jar of mashed peas and carrots."
"So what are we waiting for? I really can't stand too much more of this crying." Rarity complained.
"Aw don't get your mane in a twist. I sent Rainbow Dash to run a quick errand for me. She' grabbing a high chair from the foal supply super store so we can feed Twilight in it without getting baby food all over the castle."
"Oh yes and I completely forgot to bring a baby bottle and formula when I brought supplies over here," Fluttershy said between bars. She resumed singing and comforting Twilight who was still screaming her head off.
"Well who knows how long that-" Rarity was cut short by a sudden burst of speed entering the castle.
"One super deluxe, easy assembly high chair, definitely fit for a princess," Rainbow Dash set it next to the kitchen counter. Next she reached into her saddle bag and pulled out a pouch of baby formula and a baby bottle. "What'd I tell 'ya? 5 minutes flat."
"Were the lines long?" asked Applejack.
"Nah, there was a lost child. But I found his mother lickety split and she allowed me to cut in line."
"That's so cool!" Scootaloo cheered staring up at the rainbow maned pegasus.
"Did they have a cute selection of bottles?" Fluttershy now walking over to the group had to almost shout just to be heard over Twilight's pained crying.
"I grabbed one I knew you would like." Rainbow proudly held up a clear plastic baby bottle with baby ducks walking on the side of it being led by a mother duck. Their was also a measurement indicator on it that detailed the bottles precise volume in milliliters.
"Awwww it's very nice Dashie." Fluttershy applauded.
"It's no problem girls. I'm happy to help," Rainbow Dash smiled down at the group before setting herself back down on the floor. "I felt pretty bad for leaving Spike with Twilight all by himself today. It was the least I could do."
Spike spoke up. "No apology necessary, Rainbow. I'm just happy things are going to work out alright." Spike measured out some baby formula and spooned some of it in a saucepan. He added water and turned the heat of the stove on high having to stand on his tippy toes in order to do so. "Though it would be nice to know how much longer Twilight is going to be like this. I really don't want to add 'diaper duty' to my chore list for much longer."
Everypony giggled at that comment. Everypony except for Twilight.
"Well what do y'all say we feed the Princess and see if we can't find Pinkie Pie or Zecora? See if they know any more about Twilight's situation?"
"Yes, where is Pinkie Pie? Has anypony seen her since earlier?" Rarity asked. "It's technically her and Zecora's fault for turning Twilight into a foal in the first place."
But nopony had seen or heard from the party planner since the incident.
"Ah well we can worry about that later, right now we have a hungry baby alicorn to feed. Dig in y'all there's plenty of applesauce for Everypony!" Applejack bucked her forelegs enthusiastically.
"Oh and there's some Apple Acres family cider in the fridge," said Applebloom.
"Aw yeah!" Rainbow was happy at the sound of that.
"You mean I can finally try cider?" asked Scootaloo.
"Yeah I always thought that was just for big ponies?" chimed in Sweetie Belle.
"It is you silly filly. There's no way you are old enough to drink cider." Rarity warned.
"It's true," Applebloom said rather sullen. "We have apple juice instead."
The other two fillies pouted.
"Oh don't fret y'all. If you are good and polite during supper I might let you have a tiny taste for yourself."
The Cutie Mark Crusaders cheered.
"Applejack! Don't undermine me in front of the kids," Rarity whined.
"What? When I was their age my Ma' and Pa' gave me some of the creature. And I turned out better for it." Applejack began spooning some mashed peas and carrots on a little plate for Twilight. "Besides better they try it here where we can watch them than for them to be out alone at some dangerous party."
Rarity definitely had to agree with her there. Cider makes a pony do all sorts of bad things at parties. She's experienced it first hoof.
"Dinner is served Everypony," Spike announced.
Spike was no stranger to culinary efficiency. He makes meals for Twilight all the time and Twilight isn't always the most easy going food critic. She'll straight up tell you if the daffodils on her sandwich are wilting or not.
Spike made linguini with pesto sauce and an oat purée. He also toasted some garlic bread in the oven made with a homemade garlic butter spread. To compliment it all he tossed a garden fresh salad made with spinach, romaine, and iceberg lettuce chopped together with apples, pecans, and walnuts. He prepared a raspberry vinaigrette dressing for the salad on the side.
"You can use the applesauce as dressing for the salad if you like. It's a tad unorthodox but it works all the same." Spike just finished setting the table as ponies stared in awe at what an amazing cook such a young dragon was. He put that froofroo apron of his with the pink frills to good work. "Oh and look at that, Twilight's formula is good and warm." Spike turned the stove off again having to stand on his tippy toes.
"Spike how are you such an amazing cook when you can barely reach the counter top?" asked Rarity.
"I guess after you've done it over and over again every day for months on end you sort of internalize where things are and how long things take. Also Applejack let me stand on her back." Spike rubbed the side of his arm a bit embarrassed at how small he was still.
Applejack pulled him in for a tight hug before Spike undid his apron and threw it on the counter next to the sink.
Fluttershy strapped baby Twilight into the high chair and locked the tray in front into place. Twilight had stopped crying but only because she took to putting her hoof in her mouth.
"No, no Twilight," Fluttershy grabbed her hoof out of her mouth and used a napkin to clean the slobber off. "We do not eat our hooves."
Applejack set Twilight's plate in front of her with some kind of baby spoon that Spike found. He said it was what Twilight's parents got him when they discovered that Twilight was going to take care of him. It had Spike's favorite ruby red gem embroidered in the handle. The most elegant baby spoon you've ever seen.
"We eat food like this," Fluttershy spooned some applesauce off of the plate and pretended to eat it. "Yum, yum, yum!"
Twilight just sat there in her high chair unimpressed. It wasn't that she wasn't hungry. Twilight was just at that age where you pretty much have to bargain your soul to get them to take a bite of something.
Fluttershy brought the spoon closer to Twilight's mouth, almost touching her, and still Twilight put her hoof back in her mouth and slobbered all over it.
"I can't get her to eat," Fluttershy said dismayed again having to pull Twilight's hoof out of her mouth.
"Here let me try," Rainbow Dash flew over to where Twilight was sitting and grabbed the spoon from Fluttershy. Dashie pretended that the spoon was a Wonderbolt doing aerial acrobatics as part of some royal flight formation.
"Here comes Spitfire coming in for a landing!" Rainbow Dash forced a sly grin on her face. But Twilight only continued slobbering on her hoof.
"Man she really enjoys chewing on her hoof," Scootaloo interjected.
"Let me try," Spike climbed on to Fluttershy's back and grabbed the spoon from Dashie. "Twilight. Oh Twilight, here comes the library book coming back to the return shelf! Hurry the librarian needs her books back." Spike pleaded with eagerness written all over his face.
Still nothing. Twilight had started drooling not only on her hoof but also started to collect a pool of saliva on the high chair's tray just in front of her.
"Huh, I thought for sure that would work," Spike scratched the back of his head.
"Oh please," Rarity stood from where she was politely dining. "You guys are doing it all wrong. A baby just needs a little coercion."
Rarity grabbed the spoon of applesauce from Spike in her magic. She moved it back and forth in front of baby Twilight and now had her attention.
"Next comes the real trick," Rarity threw up an eyebrow.
With her magic she started tickling Twilight all over her belly, arms, and legs!
"BAAAHAAAHAAAA AHAHHHAAA BA BA!"
Now was her chance. With Twilight's mouth wide open from laughing Rarity shoved the spoon in Twilight's mouth and lifted up on it a little bit so that the contents slid to the back of her throat.
At first Twilight stared wide eyed, her pupils dilating. Everypony sat there staring at her nervously. Did she like it? Or was dinner going to be an ongoing war of attrition?
"GAHHHHH BA BA GAHHHH!" Twilight clapped her little hooves together and babbled happily in her chair. She was trying to get up out of her high chair and grab some more.
"And that's how it's done," Rarity smiled coyly and handed the spoon back to Fluttershy.
"Wow Rarity, how did you know to do that?" Applebloom asked between bites of pasta.
"Let's just say Sweetie Belle was one of the pickiest eaters I've ever known and leave it at that shall we?" Everypony laughed, even Sweetie Belle.
Dinner went by without a hitch. Everypony got enough to eat and Fluttershy even managed to have Twilight clean her plate. Spike placed the dishes in the sink and immediately set to work getting them washed and put away.
"Land sakes, Spike," Applejack said, "that sure was a mighty fine dinner. I may have ate too much!" Applejack rubbed her belly.
"Yeah!" Scootaloo said. "I can't decide what I liked best."
"The oat purée was simply divine," Rarity inspected her hooves as she gave Spike a compliment. "Who knew such a wonderful little chef could be so cutesy-wutesy too?" Rarity pinched Spike's cheeks in an aura of magic.
"Speaking of 'cutesy-wutesy' check out Twilight!" said Rainbow Dash.
Everypony looked over to see Twilight absolutely covered head to hoof in mashed peas, carrots, and applesauce. Fluttershy wasn't looking like she made it out of that food frenzy any better. She received much of the "return fire" and was covered in applesauce as well.
"We really need to work with Twilight on chewing with her mouth closed," Fluttershy said between light smiles. "She got more of her on her than in her."
"Here y'all are going to need some of these, sugar cube," Applejack walked over to the high chair where Fluttershy was feeding Twilight and handed over some much needed napkins. Fluttershy accepted them graciously and started wiping off Twilight's very messy face.
Twilight was not having it though. She tried squirming to get away. Fluttershy had to use some of her own saliva to clean up the corners of Twilight's mouth since the food had dried up there after resting in that spot.
"BAHHHH! BAHHHH!"
"Hold still Twilight, I'm just trying to-," Fluttershy reached over Twilight's hooves trying to block her face. "There! All clean!" The element of kindness threw the napkins in the trash. "Now how about we wash that delicious meal down with a nice warm bottle?" Fluttershy said.
Spike handed Fluttershy the ducky bottle with warm formula inside of it and Fluttershy took a seat on a nearby chair. Twilight still had some food stuck to her hooves but she was a lot cleaner than before. Her high chair looked like a whirlwind swallowed up a bunch of food trucks though.
The Cutie Mark Crusaders followed Fluttershy to the chair to watch Fluttershy feed Twilight her bottle.
"Is that milk in there?" asked Scootaloo. "It looks kind of yucky."
"Kind of," replied Fluttershy. "Normally newborn infants will take to breastfeeding during the first six months outside of the womb."
"Ewwwwwwww!" replied the Cutie Mark Crusaders all at once.
Rarity and Applejack just rolled their eyes from a distance.
Fluttershy continued: "This bottle actually has a specially designed formula in it carefully made to simulate actual breastmilk from a mother pony. Usually babies aren't weened until after their teeth have started coming in." Fluttershy gestured to baby Twilight's one tooth that had started to come in. "Baby formula is rich in lots of vitamins and carbohydrates that nourish a baby's digestive tract and helps it grow."
"But they can drink regular milk like us too, right?" Sweetie Belle asked.
"It isn't recommended that babies drink regular cows milk until they reach an age of at least 12 months. A baby's intestinal lining isn't equipped to properly digest the casein found in untreated, unformulated cow's milk. Babies can get nasty diarrhea, intestinal bleeding, or malnutrition as a result."
Again the children expressed disgust.
"Well Ah'm sure glad you know so much about infants Fluttershy!" Applebloom praised.
"Yeah it's really cool!" said Scootaloo.
"When I become older I want to be a caretaker of animals and kids just like you Fluttershy!" Sweetie Belle announced.
"Oh, thank you so much girls," Fluttershy replied bashfully. "It is my super special talent after all," the butter colored pegasus said gesturing to her adorable 3 pink butterfly cutie mark.
And with that Fluttershy brought the nipple of the bottle next to Twilight's mouth. The baby alicorn felt the nipple and instinctively latched onto it and sucked.
"It's important when feeding a baby a bottle to never force it in," Fluttershy said. "Always let the baby make the first latch so they can suck on their own. Be patient and let them go at their own pace."
It was really quite a scene. Seeing the element of kindness feeding the element of magic a bottle was truly a sight to behold. And Twilight was really thirsty! You could hear her gulping down the formula at ridiculous speeds. Fluttershy was quite taken back by this. She actually lifted the bottle just slightly to allow Twilight to suck some air down there between breaths.
"Oh my, you were certainly thirsty Twilight!" Fluttershy smiled. Fluttershy continued to keep one hoof on the bottle and one hoof supporting Twilight's head and back. "It's important when feeding a baby a bottle to hold them at a 45 degree angle so that they can swallow more easily. The muscles in the tongue are still developing and a baby can choke if proper feeding posture is not performed," Fluttershy explained while smiling down at baby Twilight.
Spike, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and the Cutie Mark Crusaders all sat in front of Fluttershy and watched as slowly but surely the milk was depleted. Even though the bottle was empty Twilight continued to suck, air escaping her lips let Fluttershy and the rest of the room know the bottle was all gone.
"All done!" Fluttershy lifted the nipple out of Twilight's mouth with a loud *pop!*
"What now Fluttershy?" asked Spike
Twilight started making some kind of weird faces.
"Oh I know!" said Scootaloo. "She wants to play charades!"
"Is it a space monkey?"
"No, no I think she's trying to do Pinkie Pie!"
"It still looks like a space monkey to me."
"No girls," Fluttershy giggled into her hoof. "The baby here needs to be burped. Would any of you like to try your hooves at it?"
"Oh! Oh! Oh! I'll do it! Pick me! Me! Me!" Sweetie Belle was by far the loudest contestant.
"Ok Sweetie why don't you hold Twilight and set her chin on your shoulder with her facing behind you," Fluttershy instructed.
Sweetie Belle grabbed baby Twilight, who looked like she was in a lot of discomfort at the moment, and set her over her shoulder.
"Good! Now with one hoof supporting her bottom use your other hoof to gently pat the middle of her back, just between her wings."
Sweetie Belle did as was instructed. The rest of the Cutie Mark Crusaders and Spike just watched.
Ten seconds went by without anything happening. Twilight rested her head on Sweetie Belle's shoulders and looked like she was having a hard time keeping her eyes adjusted to the room around her. She was focused on getting something out of her. Something big.
"Nothing's happening Flutter-"
"BURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHP!" Twilight Sparkle rattled the room.
The castle stood still. A group of birds that were resting on one of the castle's many spires took to flight in fear. The room fell deafly quiet save for but an echo of Twilight's gross outburst.
Spike busted out laughing hysterically. "What a push from the Princess of Friendship!" Spike was rolling on the ground next to a laughing Applebloom and Scootaloo. Sweetie Belle wore a different emotion however.
"Uh, I'm scared to look back there." Sweetie Belle lifted Twilight off of her shoulder. Sweetie noticed the remnants of mashed peas around Twilight's mouth. "I think- I think she spit up on me!"
Sweetie Belle started crying. "I made her sick! Oh I'd make such a terrible foalsitter!" Sweetie said eyes starting to stream with tears. "And now I'm covered in vomit!"
"Oh dear," Fluttershy took Twilight back from Sweetie Belle. Twilight heard crying and she started crying too!
"BAAAAAWAAAAAAHHHH *hic* BWWWAAAAAAAAHEH HEH HEH BWAAAAAA!"
Rarity rushed over to calm her sister and to help Fluttershy clean up.
"Sweetie Belle you did nothing wrong. Babies tend to spit up after eating. It wasn't anything you can control honest." Rarity levitated some more napkins and began wiping the mashed peas and carrots off of Sweetie Belle's back. She took another napkin and dried some of Sweetie's tears. Meanwhile Fluttershy was doing the same thing with Twilight.
"She's right Sweetie Belle. Honestly I couldn't have done a better job than that. You did great!" Fluttershy winked at her.
"Really?"
"Absolutely. These things happen. Twilight is perfectly normal and healthy." Sweetie Belle immediately started feeling better. And once Sweetie stopped crying Twilight stopped crying. It's kind of weird how instinctual sympathetic emotions are in babies.
Fluttershy finished cleaning up the ring of vomit around Twilight's mouth. She also took it upon herself to remove the sleeper that Twilight had grubbed up rather nicely. It too was covered in food and vomit. She handed it to Spike who grimaced at the sticky cotton monstrosity.
Spike walked it to the laundry room.
Rarity called out to him, "make sure you machine wash that on cold and hoof dry it! Otherwise that fabric will shrink and tear!" Spike heard her but didn't say anything possibly because he was still grossed out at having to touch Twilight's vomit.
Twilight resumed being her normal happy giggling self after everypony calmed down. Fluttershy sat back down in the same chair and subconsciously started to rock her simply out of habit from holding a lot of babies.
"Are you going to be alright Sweetie Belle?" Scootaloo put a hoof on her friend.
"Yeah, I was just scared that I hurt Twilight was all," Sweetie Belle sniffed but smiled.
Applebloom brought the three of them in for a nice hug.
"The real question is is Twilight going to be alright? She's making those weird faces again." Scootaloo pointed out.
"I definitely doubt it," Spike said. "I've never heard her burp that loud before. I doubt there's anything left in there."
Oh how wrong Spike was. There was definitely stuff "left in there". But it wasn't about to come out of the same end.
"Oh, oh my..." Fluttershy said.
"What is it Fluttershy? Is something wrong?" Applebloom asked.
Just then a foul smell hit their noses in an instant as if stealing all the oxygen out of the room.
"Ugh what is that smell?" Spike asked plugging his nose and waving his claws.
"I think somepony needs a diaper change," Fluttershy wrinkled her nose.
"Ewwwwwwwww!" The Cutie Mark Crusaders and Spike chorused.
Fluttershy got up from where she was rocking Twilight. She undeniably felt what Twilight had done before she smelled it, and began walking towards Spike's room where the diaper bags were.
Just then Applejack called over to her, "Fluttershy why don't y'all let me change the Princess and you rest your hooves for a bit?" Applejack insisted.
"Oh really it's fine Applejack," Fluttershy blushed seemingly immune to the smell that was right next to her. "I'm used to it. I think I've built up some sort of tolerance to it through the years. Thank you though but I'll have this little one's bottom clean in no time!" Fluttershy pressed on.
"Well alright, apple dumplin'," Applejack tipped her hat. "I'm really not going to fight 'ya on this one." Applejack secretly didn't want to change a dirty diaper. She changed enough of them when she went through Applebloom's terrible twos. But she definitely didn't want Fluttershy to feel like she had to do all the work.
"Aw come on Applejack, I know you're just dying to get in there and get your hooves dirty!" Rainbow Dash joked, hovering from above. Applejack just shot her a mean look.
"Don't you guys want to learn how to change a dirty diaper?" Rarity playfully teased her sister and her friends. "Come on darlings I think it will be good for you."
"NO!" Spike, Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo were adamantly opposed to getting their hooves any dirtier this evening.
Spike continued, speaking on behalf of the group of them. "I mean we should probably finish cleaning up dinner and I should start the laundry soon. The Cutie Mark Crusaders promised they'd help me finish up real quick."
"We did?"
Spike firmly but gently nudged Sweetie Belle in the side.
"Oh, I mean that's right. Yes we did."
"Can I help you put away the dishes Spike?" Scootaloo went along with their little game. Anything to not have to do THAT.
"So polite of you girls to help Spikey-Wikey tidy up," Rarity replied smugly. "I must say whoever raised you did a great job teaching you some manners."
"If y'all need us we will be just outside the kitchen in the throne room trying to figure out what to do with Twilight next." Applejack started heading towards that direction.
"Yeah and Spike we may need you to send a letter to Princess Celestia soon just to let her know what's going." Rainbow Dash stated.
"Aye aye!" Spike gave a salute as the three elements of harmony went to have their round table discussion.
"Whew! That was a close one," Spike said turning back to the CMC.
"Yeah I would so much rather clean dishes than clean diaper butts," replied Sweetie Belle staring at her reflection in a nearby plate.
Meanwhile back in Spike's room Fluttershy had just finished gathering supplies for the big change ahead. Of course Twilight started wailing again. But to be fair you try sitting in your own excrement and see how you like it. It's not all that it's cracked up to be.
"Ok, shh, shh, it's ok Twilight. I know, I know. We'll have you out of that diaper in no time," Fluttershy leaned over to meet Twilight's eyes, some of Fluttershy's soft silky hair falling on to Twilight's teary face.
She wasted no time at all in opening the diaper. Again with one hoof on her belly she peeled back the first Velcro tab *rip* then with the other hoof *rip*.
"Ok let's see what kind of surprise you left for Fluttershy!" Fluttershy let the front of Twilight's diaper fall down between her legs. "Oh my! It's a big messy mess!" Fluttershy offered a warm smile even through such a terrible stench.
Twilight felt better already, just from having that diaper opened away from her rump.
"Here would you like to play with Owlicious while Fluttershy gets you all nice and clean?" Fluttershy handed Twilight the stuffed owl Twilight was napping with earlier as a distraction. Fluttershy knew babies liked to kick their legs a lot while they were getting their diapers changed and she didn't need Twilight making an even bigger mess of things while she worked.
Fluttershy expertly used the inside front of the diaper to wipe away most of the mess before having to grab any of the diapy wipes. This was a pro diapering strategy she's been using on big messes that helps conserve wipes. Once she was satisfied with the diaper's use she lifted Twilight's dirty bottom high in the air so that it was off of the changing mat (Fluttershy was actually using that silk blue baby blanket she brought from her cottage as a changing mat). Next she grabbed a hooffull of wipes and immediately started wiping the gross mess down and off of Twilight's private area. Twilight was preoccupied with making flying noises and pretending the owl was flying just above her to notice the cool feel of the wipes against her coat. Even with Fluttershy's dirty diapering method it still took a solid 8 or 9 wipes to get Twilight's bottom all clean. Fluttershy carefully set Twilight's hind legs back down and stuffed the dirty wipes into the heavily soiled diaper. She balled the diaper up so that the only thing remaining was a puffy white ball with two blue Velcro tabs stuck to both sides of it. A very smelly ball of peepee and poopoo.
"There we go, Twilight! All clean!" Fluttershy blew a raspberry into Twilight's stomach letting the aroma of the wipes clear the air in her nostrils of that foul smell from before. "How does a nice warm bubble bath sound, Princess?" Fluttershy actually tried using one or two wipes to get some more of the food off of Twily's hooves and face but to no avail. That's when she had the idea that a bubble bath might do the trick.
Fluttershy lifted Twilight, sans diaper, onto her back between her wings and carried the used diaper and blanket back out to the kitchen to find Spike finishing up the dishes with the Cutie Mark Crusaders.
"How did the diaper change go Fluttershy?" asked Spike.
"She made quite the mess, but it was nothing I haven't seen before," Fluttershy eyed Twilight playfully and smirked. "Oh would you mind throwing this in the wash before I forget?" Fluttershy handed Spike the silk blue baby blanket.
Spike sniffed it. Big mistake.
"Yech! What happened to it?"
"Oh I didn't want to change her in your basket so I used that blanket as a changing mat of sorts," Fluttershy tied the dirty diaper in a plastic bag and threw it in the trash under the sink.
Spike thought about the alternative for a second. "You know what? Good call." Spike said as he calmly took the silk blanket to the laundry room to be washed.
"How come Twilight isn't wearing another diaper, Flutters?" asked Sweetie Belle who noticed Twilight playing with the stuffed owl on Fluttershy's back. Her blank flank was shiny and very noticeable.
"Well I was wondering if you wanted to take a warm bubble bath and play with the baby?"
"DO WE!" The sound from their enthusiastic voices caused Fluttershy's mane to unfurl and her ears to fold back against her head.
Fluttershy scratched her ears from the ringing sensation that got sent through them.
"Uh, great! Follow me and I will get the bath water running."
"You girls go ahead," Spike said. "I'm going to see if the others need me in the other room. We're going to see if we can't find Pinkie Pie, Zecora, or even get some help from Princess Celestia."
"Oh that sounds wonderful!" Fluttershy bucked her forelegs but not so high that Twilight would fall off.
The Cutie Mark Crusaders raced up the stairs towards the master bathroom ahead of Fluttershy while Spike walked in the opposite direction towards the throne room.
The bathroom had a giant wooden drum for a tub in the center of it. Thankfully Spike kept an army of ducks and bubble bath balm right next to it for when Twilight would give him his weekly baths. Fluttershy let the warm water run and plugged the drain in the bottom of the tub.
"Alright Twilight, it's time for Owlicious to say goodbye." Fluttershy said nervously. She was afraid to grab the toy from her as she's been playing with it nonstop ever since her last diaper change.
"Twilight, owls can't swim. You need to set him down," Fluttershy used her mouth to grab the stuffed owl out of her tiny little hooves.
Twilight didn't like that. Tears started forming in her eyes and she threatened to cry.
"Don't cry Twilight! Ducks can still swim," Fluttershy squeaked one of the many colored ducks sitting next to the tub. Twilight loved the ducks! There was a yellow one, orange one, green one, pink one, and a blue one all each making distinctive "quack quack" noises when squeezed. The sound made Twilight giggle and that in turn made the CMC giggle.
Satisfied with the heat coming out of the faucet Fluttershy turned the cold water valve on just slightly. Again she ran her hoof through the running water. Next she added the bubble solution directly under the running water so that it foamed up super nicely.
"Upsy daisy!" Fluttershy cooed, lifting Twilight up under her forelegs and setting her in the tub bottom first.
Then Fluttershy turned to look at the Cutie Mark Crusaders. "Come on in girls, the water is perfect!"
Sweetie Belle, Applebloom, and Scootaloo all climbed inside the giant drum of a bathtub each with their own rubber duckies.
"This is so much fun!" laughed Sweetie Belle who was playfully splashing Applebloom.
"Look, look at me!" exclaimed Scootaloo. "I'm Star Swirl the Bubbled!" Scootaloo had gathered enough bubbles around her face to make a giant self-cleaning beard.
"Well I just got my hair done just in time for the Bubble Ball," joked Sweetie Belle whose mane was completely covered in an elegantly designed bubble headdress.
Meanwhile while the CMC played Twilight was splashing around with the ducks. Fluttershy had lathered up a washcloth with soap and took to wiping Twilight all over her body. She started with Twilight's back legs and worked her way up. Twilight was too preoccupied with her army of ducks to notice what Fluttershy was doing.
"AHAHAH GAH BAH GAH!" Twilight picked up the ducks and dropped them from her hooves causing them to lightly splash Fluttershy in the face while she worked.
Fluttershy laughed. "You silly filly, are you having fun with the duckies?"
"BAH!" was her response.
Fluttershy reached between Twilight's legs and discretely wiped her private area front and back, just in case. She thought she got most of it during the change earlier but best to be sure here and now in the tub.
"Which duck is your favorite Twilight?" Sweetie Belle waded over to try playing with Twilight. "I really think the pink duck is the cutest but the orange duck makes the best quack! See?" Sweetie Belle squeezed the duck tightly in her hooves.
"QUACK! QUACK!"
Twilight clapped her hooves together and happily giggled as Fluttershy moved up to washing her back and belly.
"I really don't think she has a preference Sweetie Belle," Applebloom said from inside a mountain of bubbles.
Scootaloo spit out a waterfall of bath water. "Yeah besides I don't think she can even understand what you're saying."
"You're right," blushed Sweetie Belle. "Man it's still weird to me. One day Twilight was this powerful Princess that rewrote and finished some of the most complicated spells known to all of pony kind. The next day she's a foal who can't name her colors."
"She's still a powerful Princess," Fluttershy said. "We'll find a cure for this I'm sure of it and Twilight will be right back to normal in no time." Fluttershy meanwhile was enjoying having a baby to take care of again. It's started to slow down at her foalsitting service now that spring was almost over and the school year was slowing down.
Fluttershy took the wash cloth to Twilight's underarms. This caused Twilight to let out some very loud laughs as she was extremely ticklish under there.
"She really likes that Fluttershy," said Applebloom.
"Little piggly-wiggly here is just a wee bit ticklish under her arms isn't she? Yes you are! Yes you are!" Fluttershy lightly splashed some water over Twilight's back so that she could rinse the soap away from her eyes.
Scootaloo eyed Fluttershy suspiciously. "You know Fluttershy if I didn't know any better I'd say you're enjoying this baby Twilight thing a little too much," said Scootaloo.
"Oh goodness, you may be right," Fluttershy turned a light shade of pink in the cheeks. "It's just- well taking care of animals is fine and all and Angel bunny is a little sweetheart," The CMC paused to look at each other disapprovingly. Angel was most definitely not sweet to them. Fluttershy continued, "but with the school year slowing down and with no kids to foalsit- well I'd be lying if I said I wasn't just a tad lonely. I really want to have kids of my own one day..." Fluttershy continued washing Twilight's shoulders and neck.
The CMC started to look sad. There was nothing sadder than a sad Fluttershy. Seriously just the sound of Fluttershy crying is enough to bring a pony to tears.
"Well do you have a special somepony?" asked Sweetie Belle.
"Yeah have you started seeing anypony?" inquired Scootaloo.
Fluttershy took a moment to think about it for a second rinsing the washcloth out and relathering it. Then she smiled and blushed, "I don't know... what do you think of Big Mac?"
"My brother!?" Applebloom was shocked. "You mean you like my brother?"
"Well yes. I mean we both work around animals, we both like the quiet, and he's super nice." Fluttershy looked up at the ceiling. "Plus he likes to sing same as me."
Realizing what Fluttershy just said she felt embarrassed. Opening up to a group of fillies half her age? What was she thinking.
"Oh just forget I said anything about it girls," Fluttershy resumed washing baby Twilight off. "I'm fine. Really I am. Besides Big Mac seems really happy with Sugar Belle and I wouldn't want to come between them. Let's just drop it."
Applebloom stood up from her mountain of bubbles and met Fluttershy's gaze. "Why didn't you tell me you liked my brother? I think you two would be perfect for one another," said Applebloom wrapping her hooves around a very surprised Fluttershy. "Though maybe now it's a little too late. Still one never knows..."
"Oh? You really think so?" Fluttershy was a bit taken back by this comment.
"Yeah you really should have told us sooner," Scootaloo started to say. "We could have given you a love potion for Hearts and Hooves Day."
Sweetie Belle just elbowed Scootaloo in the side. She was trying to remind Scootaloo about how badly it turned out the other time they tried to make a love potion for Miss Cherilee that actually turned out to be a love poison.
"Oh, right." Scootaloo rubbed the back of her head in embarrassment.
"Well, I think you'd make a great mother Fluttershy. A really great mother. Any stallion would be extremely lucky to have somepony as kind and good natured as you for their very special somepony!" said Sweetie Belle.
"Yeah just keep looking Fluttershy! And don't give up on love. You of all ponies certainly deserve to be happy."
Fluttershy tried not to let the girls see her wipe a stray tear from the corner of her eye. "Thanks girls, you're sweet."
"Sure thing Fluttershy!" they replied in unison.
After their little heart-to-heart conversation Fluttershy just had one more important spot to clean off on Twilight: her face.
"Girls you might want to step out of the tub for this," Fluttershy warned.
"What is it?" Applebloom asked
"Well Twilight's going to start splashing around when I clean her face. You might get soap in your eyes if she splashes you."
Fluttershy lathered up the washcloth one last time and ambushed Twilight while she was making the ducks swim. She started in and around the muzzle and cheeks causing immediate discomfort from Twilight who started flailing all about in agitation. Large splashes of water started going everywhere! Applebloom immediately started to climb out of the tub. She turned around to help her friends out of the bath tub as well. They were desperately trying to take cover from the onslaught of bathwater attacking them.
"Twilight! No, no, no stop splashing." Fluttershy pleaded. "Oh if you don't mind that is."
Fluttershy grimaced turning away from Twilight. She held on to Twilight's right arm while quickly trying to wipe off the rest of her face. "Oh, I'm sorry Twilight I know the soap isn't nice to have all over your face. I promise we are almost done." Poor Fluttershy was getting soaked from all of Twilight's thrashing about.
Finally Fluttershy lifted the washcloth away from Twilight's face. Twilight made spitting noises and started to cry.
"Awww, it's ok Twilight. We're almost done." The element of kindness cupped some water in her hooves and let it gently fall over Twilight's eyes, nose, and muzzle. She was almost completely clean.
"Now I just need to do your mane and tail, Twily." Fluttershy rang out the washcloth and her own mane. "Sweetie Belle will you be a dear and check the cupboard for any children's shampoo? Oh and there should be some towels for you on the rack behind you."
"I'll get 'em," Applebloom said reaching for the towel rack. The towels were monogrammed with Twilight's cutie mark and were lavender in color. Applebloom really liked their design.
Sweetie Belle was checking the cabinet and found some children's shampoo.
"Trade 'ya!" Applebloom said throwing a towel right at Sweetie Belle's face. It landed on her head delicately. She lifted it up and levitated the bottle over to Applebloom who handed it right to Fluttershy.
"Thanks girls."
"Say, what was in this bubble formula?" Scootaloo asked while she was drying off her mane. "It's smells delicious!"
"The bottle says 'blueberry mist'," replied Fluttershy. "I'm guessing you all are going to be smelling like little blueberries for the rest of the night."
Sweetie Belle giggled, "Cutie Mark Crusader Blueberries unite!" They threw the towels on the floor and started messing with each other's manes.
Fluttershy squirted some shampoo in her hooves and lathered them up. She ran her hooves through Twilight's mane and tail gently so as not to get the soap anywhere near her eyes or face. Next she tilted Twilight's head back and let water from her hooves fall over the back of her head. For her tail it was easy enough to just submerge it again in the bath water.
Twilight Sparkle was now all clean. You could even say she "sparkled".
"There that wasn't so bad now was it?" Fluttershy grabbed a towel for herself and for Twilight, first pulling the plug from the drain to let all the used bubble bath water out of the tub. She dropped the towel over Twilight and said, "where's Twilight? Where's Twilight?" When she lifted the towel up off of her head she said "There she is! There she is!" Twilight liked that game a lot. Next she used the same towel on herself as she got a little bit wet from all of that splashing. "Where's Fluttershy? Where's Fluttershy?" Twilight stared confused and a bit scared. "Here I am! Here I am!" Twilight clapped her hooves together in approval.
Satisfied with how dry Twilight, the girls, and herself were Fluttershy threw the used towels in the hamper by the sink, put the shampoo back, and gathered all of the rubber duckies back up next to the tub where she found them.
"Come on girls, let's head back downstairs." Fluttershy ushered the girls out of the bathroom and turned out the light. "It's going to be time for baby to go to bed soon."
"Ok Fluttershy!"
And with that 3 very clean fillies followed closely behind Fluttershy who started heading back downstairs towards Spike's room. Twilight appeared to be nodding off resting between Fluttershy's extended wings. It has been quite the day for her today.
Soon it would be time for baby Twilight to drift on off to dreamland as Celestia began to lower the evening sun.
Rarity was waiting for them at the bottom of the stairs.
"Oh good, you're back," the elegant white unicorn called to them. "Where did you all go?" Rarity stuck her hoof out to boop baby Twilight on her cute little nose.
"I just had to give Twilight a bath," Fluttershy smiled her wings still extended. "And I thought it might be fun for these 3 little fillies to join in. It turned out to be a little more work than I was expecting," Fluttershy admitted.
"Well listen I have some news," Rarity joined the five of them towards Spike's room. "Spike wrote a letter to the Princess!"
"What did it say Rarity?" asked Applebloom.
Rarity cleared her throat. "Spike told the Princess what happened to Twilight. The Princess apparently has encountered this phenomenon before. She honestly didn't seem too put off by it."
"Really so there's a cure for her?" Scootaloo asked.
"Apparently," Rarity answered. "Princess Celestia said in her return letter that she notified Zecora of the mishap. And that Zecora would have the cure waiting for us in the Everfree Forest. Rainbow Dash and Applejack left but a minute ago."
"Oh my," Fluttershy said reaching on her back to grab baby Twilight. Baby Twilight was struggling to keep her head held up. The poor thing was starting to nod off. "It's starting to get dark. I do hope those two are careful."
"Wait where's Pinkie Pie?" Sweetie Belle asked her big sister.
"That we still don't know," said Rarity. "Sometimes I really don't understand that pony. She goes through all that trouble to find a cure for Twilight's horn allergy and then never returns. Maybe she's at Sugar Cube Corner?"
"And where's Spike?" Fluttershy asked setting baby Twilight down in Spike's basket for the second time today.
"Oh he's just finishing up the laundry in the other room. Actually here he comes now."
"Heya ponies! What's going on?" Spike waltzed through the door to his room. He took notice of the element of magic nodding off in his basket where Fluttershy was about to put another diaper on her.
"Rarity was just explaining to us what was going on with Princess Celestia and finding a cure for Twilight," said Fluttershy who had since pulled out a fresh diaper and some baby powder. The landing strip on this diaper had a picture of a raccoon princess waving a magic wand and wearing a tiara. There were magic stars all around her. It was actually very fitting for a baby princess.
"And so what do you think? What are we doing with Twilight in the mean time?" Spike asked.
"Well we should still get the poor dear ready for bed," Fluttershy said as Rarity and the CMC watched her start diapering baby Twilight "Look at her. She can barely hold her sweet little head up."
The group just swooned over how cute Twilight was.
"I'm actually going to miss baby Twilight," Sweetie Belle said rather sadly. "It was fun to play with her as a baby."
"Yeah and she was so cute, don't 'ya think Scootaloo?" asked Applebloom.
"Yeah baby Twilight is the cutest. I wish she could stay like this for just a little bit longer," the orange pegasus filly said.
Fluttershy opened the new disposable diaper and lifted Twilight's legs straight up towards the ceiling for the third time today. She placed the diaper down with her other hoof centered right beneath Twilight's tushie.
"Girls Twilight has a lot of responsibilities she needs to get back too. She's the headmare of the School of Friendship, the bearer of the element of magic, and the Princess of Friendship. She wouldn't want to stay a baby forever."
"We know," the Cutie Mark Crusaders admitted hanging their heads knowing that their cute new playmate was about to turn back into bookworm Twilight again.
"It was pretty nice while it lasted," Spike put a claw on their shoulders and smiled.
"I definitely had a lot of fun," Fluttershy giggled while applying foal powder to Twilight's rear end. "Twilight is one of the cutest babies I've ever seen."
Twilight who was coming down from dinner and a bath was now almost completely sleeping on her back, her eyes were drooping very low. She had one of her hooves in her mouth and started to suck on it. The baby powder also had an active ingredient in it that would soothe a baby's skin and make them even more sleepy as a result. Twilight was fighting a losing battle against sleep.
Fluttershy, satisfied with the amount of protection on Twilight's bottom, began to finish the diaper change. She pulled the diaper up between her legs and fastened both sides. Finally she made sure the leak guards on the diaper were facing out by running her hooves along the inside seem of the diaper.
"Awwww, look at her sucking her hoof," Sweetie Belle fawned.
"You used to like to hold my mane and suck your hoof while you slept with me just like that Sweetie," Rarity said causing her sister to blush. "You never liked sleeping in your own bed either."
Sweetie Belle's cheeks turned red as Applebloom and Scootaloo snickered at her.
"Why do you have to embarrass me Rarity?" asked Sweetie Belle.
"Oh it's not embarrassing darling. I thought it was always really sweet to have that bond with you. Though I must admit sometimes knowing where your hooves had been, I much preferred them out of my mane. It was still sweet though."
"Rarity you don't suppose you have another sleeper in that giant box you brought over?" Fluttershy asked.
"I most certainly do! Follow me." Rarity led the way across the hall back in Twilight's room where the giant box of foal haute couture was sitting. Fluttershy cradled the baby gently in her hooves and used the calming flap of her wings to carry her behind Rarity. The CMC and Spike soon followed close behind.
Rarity used her magic to pull out some baby blue cotton hoofsy pajamas. These pajamas completely surrounded the body of a foal in a thick, soft cotton wool. The design had a mesh of light blue hues and a white lace trim around the neck. One long white zipper ran from the front all the way to the bottom of one of the legs. This way the whole sleeper would open in the event that somepony had to perform a middle-of-the-night diaper change. There was a pocket on the front breast of a sleeping moon in a nightcap.
"Oh Rarity those pajamas are so cute!" Fluttershy blushed. "Do you think you could put those on Twilight for me?"
"It would be my pleasure."
Rarity lifted Twilight out of Fluttershy's hooves with her magic while holding the hoofsy pajamas right next to her. She quickly unzipped them and brought Twilight inside of the warm wool fabric. First the back hooves were inserted and Rarity slowly brought the zipper up over them. Next Rarity had to remove Twilight's front hoof from her mouth in order to get both of Twilight's remaining hooves in the sleeper.
"Oh Spike," Fluttershy just remember something. "I left some pacifiers in the sink in your room. They should already be clean. Could you please run and grab one for me?"
"Of course Fluttershy!" Spike waddled off back across the hall. He went to the bathroom where Fluttershy was cleaning off the pacifiers earlier this afternoon. Spike thought this blue pacifier with a yellow star on the front button would go rather nicely with Rarity's hoof sewn foal pajamas.
He quickly grabbed it and brought it back over.
"Here you go, Fluttershy." Spike handed her the pacifier.
"Oh good choice on the design Spikey-Wikey," Rarity enshrouded the silicone nipple in her magic and deftly popped it into Twilight's drool covered mouth. The baby alicorn immediately began rapidly sucking on it further propelling her back into dream land. Rarity finished zipping up her pajamas and carefully set Twilight down on the Princess' big bed.
"Awwww look at her," whispered Sweetie Belle. "She's so tiny and the bed is so big."
"Do you think we should take her back to my bed?" Spike asked.
"There really isn't any need," Fluttershy said. "Rainbow Dash and Applejack should be back from Zecora's any moment with a cure. We should all just keep an eye on her in this bed so she doesn't fall out."
Then Fluttershy turned to head to the kitchen. "I am going to make her one last night time bottle though. Just in case." Fluttershy said with a wink before leaving the five of them to watch over Twilight.
The four ponies and Spike just stared silently at the sleeping Twilight and smiled. Today was most certainly a day they were not going to forget for a very long time. Sure lot's of weird magical surges happened in Equestria almost every day but it wasn't often that you got to baby the Princess of Friendship. It has been a fun, sweet, cute adventure for everypony involved. And still they had to admit they were sad it was almost over.
Everypony except Pinkie Pie that is. Nopony knew where it was she went. And nopony had seen her since the incident unfolded.
Fluttershy returned with the same baby bottle from before filled with milk. "I'm back," Fluttershy said. "And look who I found in the kitchen!" Fluttershy exclaimed while still managing to keep her voice down.
Coming in to Twilight's room from behind Fluttershy were none other than Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and you guessed it Pinkie Pie!
"Pinkie Pie!" the CMC shouted.
Rarity and Fluttershy quickly covered their mouths. "Shhhhhh!"
"We mean.... Pinkie Pie!" they whispered. Twilight, still sleeping, rolled onto her side and continued to rapidly suck that blue pacifier with the star in the middle of it.
"Where were you?" asked Spike a tad annoyed.
Pinkie Pie bounced in the room holding what appeared to be another glass bottle from Zecora's in the curl of her mane. "Oh it's a pretty long story," the pink party pony began. "Let's just say I was on my way back to Zecora's to grab a cure when a pack of timberwolves started chasing me. I outran them but I soon realized that I was lost. If it wasn't for Rainbow Dash and Applejack finding me when they did-"
"She'd be sleeping in a full body cast and sipping applesauce through a straw," Rainbow Dash finished Pinkie's sentence for her.
"Actually it's really not that long of a story," Pinkie Pie snorted.
"Did you get the cure from Zecora's?" Spike asked.
"Oh we got it," replied Applejack.
"Here you go!" Pinkie Pie bounced over to where Fluttershy was holding the baby bottle. "Put just a tiny amount of this powder in her bottle and give it to Twilight."
Fluttershy opened the bottle of baby formula and did as instructed.
Just then a certain purple unicorn walked in to Twilight's room apparently unprepared for what she was about to walk in on. "Hey Twilight, I'm back from my weekend trip to Las Pegasus. I must've lost more than a 100 bits. Pony poker is just not my thing. Is there any guidance counselor stuff for me t-" Starlight Glimmer stopped her sentence suddenly at seeing over half a dozen ponies already in Twilight's room. "AH! What's going on here?" Starlight Glimmer shouted.
Baby Twilight didn't like all the commotion going on around her while she was trying to sleep. Out came the pacifier and out came the tears.
"BAAAAHAAAAA WAHHHHHH BABA WAHHHHHH *hic* *hic* WAHHHHHHHH!"
"What? Who? How? When? Why?" Starlight Glimmer's eye started twitching and she couldn't properly form sentences any more. She was definitely not prepared for this.
Rarity just levitated her over to where she was standing and put a hoof up to her mouth. Starlight Glimmer just watched with 90% shock and 10% curiosity.
To stop the crying Fluttershy took this as an opportunity to place the bottle in Twilight's mouth. She tilted the bottle ever so slightly up towards the ceiling with one hoof to allow the sweet baby milk to pour down her throat. Fluttershy wiped the tears out of Twilight's eyes as she began to suck down the contents of her bottle.
Starlight just continued to stare too shocked to say anything.
"Slow down Twilight, you're drinking it too fast," Fluttershy looked worried. "I don't want you get a tummy ache."
Even Rainbow Dash was impressed at the speed by which baby Twilight was polishing off that bottle.
"She must've been really thirsty after that warm bath," said Sweetie Belle.
The sound of an empty bottle being sucked could soon be heard.
*schwop* *schwap* *schwop* *schwop*
Next came a very unruly sound. One that everypony in Twilight's room had already heard today except for Starlight Glimmer. And Starlight Glimmer was about to find out just how loud of a belcher the Princess of Frienship was.
"BUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!"
Twilight was now wide awake. And as a result of the impressive burp Twilight's body began to return to normal size. Her wings grew, her horn grew, and most importantly her hooves and body returned to full alicorn princess size as well. With them came her magenta colored six point star cutie mark as well.
"Twilight? Twilight?" Spike climbed up on the bed and began to gently shake his adoptive mother and mentor. "Can you hear me?"
Twilight was now back to her full size. Rarity's pajamas grew with her much to Rarity's delight. If they ripped she honestly might have fainted. And Twilight couldn't tell but she thought she was sitting on some type of altocumulus cloud.
"Ugh, what happened? Where am I?" Twilight was having a little bit of a hard time focusing on things around the room and sitting up.
"Well I think I maybe gave you a teensy-insy bit too much of Zecora's medicine and it may have caused you to become a teensy-insy bitty foal," Pinkie Pie smiled and rubbed the back of her head.
"Am I wearing foal pajamas?" Twilight asked.
"Yes," replied Rarity.
"And a diaper?"
"Yes," replied Fluttershy.
"Was I just sucking on a pacifier and drinking from a baby bottle?"
Again they all replied, "yes."
Twilight simply fell back in her bed and fainted.
"Oh... oh my," Fluttershy gasped.
"Is she going to be alright?" asked Starlight Glimmer.
Spike tried nudging Twilight back awake. Perhaps the shock at seeing all of her friends staring at her while she was wearing a night time diaper was just a bit too much for her?
Spike reached over next to Twilight's head where the pacifier she was sucking on had fallen out. "She's going to be just fine everypony," said Spike.
Spike put the blue and white pacifier back in Twilight Sparkle's mouth.
Then the strangest thing happened: Twilight grew this dorky smile on her face!
It was almost as if she had gotten used to the rhythmic sucking sensation of her pacifier. Almost as if her unconscious mind liked the way a fresh disposable diaper felt underneath a cotton one-piece sleeper.
"She's going to be just fine everypony," Spike reiterated. The baby dragon cuddled up next to his adoptive mother and gave her a warm hug.
Everypony laughed. They were very glad Twilight was back to normal and that she was going to be ok. But there was still something very funny about seeing the Princess of Friendship, fully grown, asleep in her bed sucking a pacifier and wearing a diaper.
