Chapters At the Shimmer residence, Sunset was playing her guitar while thinking about her princess. The last time they saw each other was when it was Christmas. Sunset sighed and looked at the book that she and the princess of friendship use for communication, Its like a phone that you can use if you wanna message someone. She grabbed a picture frame that was beside her lamp and looks at it with a smile. It was a picture of her and the princess when they were having a picnic together as friends. She sighed and puts it beside her.
She had noticed that the princess wasn't responding much whenever she write about her day. She smiled and started to play a song that she wrote, She knew Princess Twilight was the one for her no matter what.She knew Princess Twilight was her princess and Sunset was the knight in blazing armor. Princess Twilight was her hero, she was the one who save her from her suicidal attempt (recall of the book 1 of HSSC). An idea had pop out of her head and rushes quickly to the book to write something.
Dear Princess Twilight. You wanna hang out today, just the 2 of us?
Sunset had finished writing and tap her desk to wait for the response hoping that her princess had seen this. a few minutes later the book had started to vibrate and she saw that her princess had responded to her text message. She smiled and read the message.
Dear Sunset Shimmer, Of course I would love to, I'll go to your house right now!
Sunset jump off her seat and started to do some street dancing as a sign of her happiness. She was super happy and her bedroom door was opened by none other than Celestia and saw her daughter was doing her homework. She sighed and closed the door behind her. Sunset stopped writing and rushes to her closet to wear something cool for their date.
"Oh Spike I can't wait for me and Sunset's hang out!".
"You mean date right?".
"Right....".
Princess Twilight said as she blushed bright red, she looked at the picture frame that Sunset had gave her. It was a picture of their picnic as friends, it was the day she had confessed to Sunset. She smiled and grabs it to put it in her saddlebag, after that she hugged Spike and went straight to the portal.
Sunset was waiting outside wearing a black long sleeve shirt, light brown shorts, a watch, and lavender converse. She was looking through her MyStable when she heard footsteps. She looked up and saw Princess Twilight wearing a a white polo, black bow tie, a leather jacket, lavender skirt, and red converse.
To Sunset, she looked adorable. Sunset hugged her princess a little tight and showered her with kisses earning the princess to giggled. Princess Twilight kissed Sunset's cheek and nose as a sign of her own affection. They stared at each other for a while and shared their kiss, Sunset pulled back and smirk.
"Notice anything different babe?".
"Oh my gosh!, you change your hairstyle!".
Sunset's hairstyle was a pixie cut. She wanted a new look to impress her princess, she choose the most manliest hairstyle she could find. She pose her body like from her model job in front of Princess Twilight and winked at her in a sexy way earning the princess to blush hard. Sunset laughed and held the princess's hand.
"Come on pancake, we gotta go so we can avoid the traffic".
Sunset got to the bike and gave her girlfriend a spare helmet and she wore hers. She started the bike and gave it a roar, she then speed off to the museum.
"Whoa!".
Princess Twilight stared at the building in awe, the building was so big. Sunset was wearing a face mask and a bonnet so she won't be causing a scene. She held her princess's hand and went inside the science museum, they got their tickets and explored the whole museum.
"I'm so excited!".
"Me too!".
"I hope I can collect more information the human world".
"Oh I thought you were excited for our date princess".
"I am!, I'm just sayi-".
"I'm just joking babe".
As they went to the first exhibit, Princess Twilight was amaze. The Human World and Equestria has so many similarities. The Princess was having the time of her life, whenever they go to the next exhibit she would kiss Sunset's forehead and move on to the next. Sunset would always use science jokes to make the date more lively which worked. They went outside and saw that the Sun was setting, they sat at the stairs of the museum and watched the sunset. Sunset was eating a corndog which was her favorite and Twilight was drinking a diet soda.
"The Sunset is so pretty".
"Why thank you princess".
"Not you flirt ball".
"Ouch that hurt".
Princess Twilight giggled and remove Sunset's face mask and peck on her lips. She grab Sunset's left arm and puts it around her neck, signalling that she wants cuddles. Sunset smiled and kissed her princess's top head and rested her cheek at her head. They both saw the sun was gone and the moon was shinning so brightly at the night.
"Your more of sexy than pretty".
"Since when are you the cassanova princess?".
"Someone had influenced me".
"You know you love me princess".
"Yeah I do love you, flirt ball".
They shared their kiss but was interrupted with a cough, they broke off and saw a boy with green hair. Sunset growled while she got up and glared at the boy. Princess Twilight stood up to see that they were glaring at each other angrily while smiling forcefully. The princess held Sunset's hand and she saw the her girlfriend was still glaring at the boy. They both look like they wanted to kill each other.
"Well well well if it isn't my favorite pal bacon strips. what are you doing here?, hooking up with a babe I see".
"I should ask you the same thing tree branch and she's my girlfriend!".
"Yeah sure your girlfriend".
"You wanna get your butt kicked again?!".
Princess Twilight hugged Sunset's arm and it made her girlfriend look at her making her anger vanish.
"Sunset his not worth it, let's go before you cause a scene".
Sunset puts her face mask on and glared at Timber one last time, Timber smirk as her girlfriend went beside him. Sunset didn't care who it was because her gaze was focused on Timber.
"Be glad my girlfriend is here or I would've have done it by 5 seconds flat".
"See you soon bacon strips".
Sunset walked off with her girlfriend and she wrap her arm around Princess Twilight's waist as a protection. She looked behind and was glaring at Timber one was last and looked back.
"I....can't believe she's here... out of all the places... why here?".
Timber looked beside him to see his girlfriend Twilight was staring at Sunset with wide eyes, she didn't expect her ex to be here in this museum. Twilight shakes her head to focus on her date with Timber. She can worry about Sunset later, although she and Timber were dating, Twilight was still in love with Sunset. But the problem is that, Sunset is already taken by her counterpart Princess Twilight Sparkle.
A problem that friendship isn't the answer
It was a normal afternoon at CHS, everyone was getting their books back at the locker so they can go home. Everyone was whispering and murmuring outside the school when they saw a person who was wearing a a navy shirt, glasses, face mask, bonnet, black jeans, and white shoes. That person was Sunset Shimmer, she was waiting for someone at CHS for a reason.
Friendship lesson number 1: Reconnect with an old friend of yours
Sunset sighed and walks inside the school, All the students saw her passing by and started to whisper to their friends. Sunset didn't care, she just wanted to get this over with. She heard music coming from the music room and she followed the sounds. Not only that she felt like a force was pushing her to go to that room, its like she felt equestrian magic. She stopped in front of the door and opened it to take a peak and saw her princess was discussing something with her friends.
"Didn't you have feelings for Flash?".
"Well his just a crush, its just that *sighs dreamily* she's different".
"Tell us more darling!".
Pinkie was about to speak but Rainbow Dash covered her mouth before she even Pinkie do her pinkie sense. The princess then told them about the story of how she and her girlfriend met and how she confessed her feelings to her love. (Recall for the Book 1 and 2 of HSSC).
Sunset saw the last person she wanted to see, her ex girlfriend Twilight Sparkle. She had gathered her courage and quietly opens the door to go inside, The mane 7 saw her and wanted to say something but Sunset signals them to keep quiet. She tiptoed slowly behind the princess.
She blew on the princess's ear and it made her scream in panic and turn about to punch the person who did it. Luckily, Sunset caught her first when the princess threw it. They both were staring at each other for a moment and Sunset cleared her throat. The princess shook her head and wrap her arms around her girlfriend's arm and looked at her friends.
"I like you all to meet my girlfriend".
Sunset took off her beanie letting her pixie hair to fall down and she remove her face mask, she was earned by the sound of gasp coming from the Mane 7. She smiled nervously and waved at them awkwardly, she was sweating due to the silence she was hearing. She was panicking on the inside, she can even hear her brain screaming for help.
"Whoa! This Sunset is way more hotter than ours".
"I heard that Dash!!...... I gotta admit you rock that pixie hair".
"Thanks um.... me?".
"Darling you must tell me where you go shopping!".
Sunset looked at them confusedly and gestures herself and her counterpart.
"Isn't this weird for you guys?".
"We faced 2 demons, 3 magical giant sea horses from another dimension, a giant woman who wants everyone to see her as a star, a camp counselor who turned into some evil mother nature monster, a harmless teenage girl who erased our memories, and we have pony powers. How can 2 Sunsets be weird if we can see 2 Twilights?".
Everyone was looking at Pinkie and Sunset was shock when Pinkie had said that. She was pat on the shoulder by her princess, she wanted to ask Pinkie but Princess Twilight interrupted her.
"She's Pinkie Pie, don't question anything".
"So how are we gonna tell who's our Sunset and the human Sunset?".
"Simple!, Let's call the human Sunset, Sunset with aqua eyes and for our Sunset, Sunset with teal eyes!".
"Not gonna happen Pinkie".
Sunset gestures her counterpart to get up, once she got up she walks towards the human Sunset and stood beside her. Their height was different, The human Sunset was taller than their Sunset.
"How about you call me Sun".
"And you can call me Shim"
The rest had agreed to the nicknames, while Twilight wasn't processing everything that had happened. Here she is, seeing her ex hotter than before.
"Hey Twilight.... can we talk".
Twilight slowly nodded and they both walked out of the room. The princess smiled and hope that their talk was going to be okay. A few minutes later, Sun and Twilight walked inside with a smile on their faces.
"Hey girls, me and Sun will be going to the park to hang out".
"Okay Twi".
After the both had left, they looked at the princess with concern on their faces.
"I'm sure their hang out will be like their old hang outs besides, I taught her friendship is magic. She need to reconnect with her first friend".
"SCREW FRIENDSHIP!, SHE CLEARLY STILL HAVE FEELINGS FOR MY SUNSET!".
"Shush princess!, you gonna blow our cover if you keep whining".
They were watching Sun and Twilight laughing at the stories and jokes that they shared with each other while they were eating ice cream. They look like they were having a great time, while the princess was piss and tries to calm her negativity down. She knew she said to reconnect with an old friend but when she was watching, she can't help but feel like she was jealous.
She can clearly tell that Sun was using some cheesy pick up lines to her counterpart making her laugh so hard and playfully punch the shoulder of her girlfriend. Princess Twilight clears her throat and tries to act like her counterpart, She did a bad lip reading pretending that it was Twilight's words coming from her mouth.
"Hi Sunset, look at my little glasses and pretty attractive sad face. Do you think that I'm more prettier than the princess?. AUGH!".
The mane 6 shushes the princess to keep quiet and continues to watch.
"You got ice cream on your face Sun".
Sunset wipes her right cheek with a tissue and looks at Twilight.
"Is it gone?".
Twilight then licked Sunset's left cheek where the ice cream was and Sunset blushed a little and looked away nervously laughing, Twilight giggled and wipes her friend's cheek with a tissue. Princess Twilight however had enough, she got up from the bush and was going to storm to the 2 friends but she was held back by Applejack who was worried.
"Let me at her!".
"Princess please calm down!".
Sun looked back at Twilight and sighed, she remembered every hang outs they did a year ago. She gathered up her courage and started to talk.
"I know you still love me but you must know that I already have Princess Twilight, I see that you and tree branch are a couple. You both look cute by the way".
"Thanks".
"Its best if we don't see each other anymore Twilight".
"Why not, you literally just ask me to hang out with you today".
"Princess Twilight told me to do this so I can learn friendsh-".
"If the princess didn't ask you to do this, would you still ask me?".
".....Um...".
"I.... still love you... okay".
"Twilight I told you, the princess is my world".
"Funny, you told me same thing when we were dating".
"I don't have a choice but to listen to the princess!, Your the one who wanted to end this relationship!!".
"Because you and Moondancer kissed!".
"IF YOU WOULD JUST LET ME EXPLAIN WE WOULD STILL BE TOGETHER BUT NO!, I WISH I DIDN'T HAVE SAVED YOU FROM THOSE MEN SO NONE OF THIS WOULD EVER HAPPENED!!".
Sunset realize what she had said and saw Twilight with a shock expression. She knew that the day she had saved Twilight was the day that Twilight called Sunset her hero, Twilight looked down sad and Sunset lifted her hand.
"I'll just go home".
"Twilight wait!".
Twilight stood up and walked away upset, Sun got and grabbed her wrist. Time was slowly moving, Sun was seeing all of Twilight's memories. It was memories of her and Twilight when they first met, their hang outs, their outings as a couple, and their embarrassing moments.
Sun removed her hand from Twilight's wrist and slowly feels dizzy, All she can see is a blur scenery of Twilight walking away. Sun sat on the bench and sighed sadly, she felt a pair of multiple arms hugging her. She looked and saw her princess's friends were hugging her for comfort. Sun smiled and told her it was okay. She knew she would apologize to Twilight somehow.

Open my eyes, it was only just a dream
At the Shimmer residence, Princess Twilight was hugging Sunset because she can feel that her girlfriend was sad. She kissed her forehead as she wipes the tears that was flowing through Sunset's eyes. Sunset look up and peck her princess's lips and buried her face to her shoulder.
"Why is this so hard?, I thought friendship is magic".
"Friendship takes time love".
"But it hurts".
"You can't force friendship Sunny, just give Twilight some time".
"I know....".
Princess Twilight patted Sunset's head softly, she didn't want to go back home. She lifted Sunset's head and kissed her softly with emotions. They both can feel their magic connecting to each other through their kiss, The princess of friendship wrapped her arms around Sunset's waist while Sunset wrap her arms around her princess's neck. They both fell off the bed and Princess Twilight was on top of her.
They were making out with each other with emotions, Sunset switched their positions and she was on top of the princess of friendship. They broke off for air and look at each others eyes, they shared a peck on the lips. Sunset then knew what she had to do, she got up and gets dress to leave the house. Princess Twilight was watching her girlfriend get dress.
"What's going on?".
"I know what I have to do".
Sunset gave her princess a peck on the lips and left the house to run straight to Twilight's house. She knew what she had to do to make things right. She had dodge some of the people who were walking at the sidewalk, she greeted some of her classmates from Everton when they were passing by. She stopped in front of a house that looks like a castle, This was definitely the Sparkle residence.
She knocked on the door quickly and waited for someone to open it, the door was opened and saw Shining Armor with a baby girl in his arms. He saw Sunset and immediately got angry, he gave the baby girl to the woman next to her and grabbed Sunset's collar starring at her angrily.
"What are you doing here?".
"I just want to see Twilight".
"You got some guts coming in here kid".
"Please Shin-".
"Officer!".
"Listen Officer Armor, I need to talk things out with Twilight!".
"After you broke her right?!, I don't think so-".
"Put her down BBBFF!".
They all turned their head to the direction of the voice, they saw Twilight holding Spike in her arms. She walked downstairs and Shinning Armor closed the door and puts Sunset back down. The 2 friends were now looking at each other, Sunset was nervous while Twilight had a poker face.
"Twilight.... I was wrong, You were the first friend that I ever made when moving here. I'm sorry if my words earlier affected you. I-I".
Sunset began to cry and looks at the grown in shame. Twilight can only watch and listen to her friend who was apologizing to her. It did hurt hearing those words coming out of Sunset's mouth earlier.
"You told me.... Tha-at I was your he-hero, I thought you were the one I wa-wanted. Someone told me that the most po-powerful magic was friendship, even if the princess didn't ask me to reconcile with you. I would still visit you occasionally, What I'm trying to say is that I'm sorry and I want to us to be friends again".
Twilight smiled and hugged Sunset telling her that she was forgiven. Sunset cried so hard and buried her head at Twilight's shoulder. They both looked at each other and giggled.
"Wake up Sunset".
"But I am".
"Wake up!".
Sunset jolted awake, she looked around nervously and saw that she was in a white room. She saw a heart monitor and gave her a hint of what place she was in. She was in the hospital, her worst fear. Hospitals makes her uncomfortable, she lifted up her hands and saw they were covered in bandages. She heard the door opened and saw a woman with a clipboard, it was a nurse from this hospital.
"Ah Ms. Shimmer, your awake!".
Awake?, but she was with Twilight. How come she was in this place, why is she feeling a little bit of pain?. So many questions had stored in her head. She tried to speak but she couldn't find the right words, she waited for the nurse to tell her the information she needed.
"I can tell you have some questions".
"......Why am I here?".
"You were in a coma for a year sweetie".
A YEAR?!
"Wh-what do you mean?".
"You were found in an abandon factory by your friends, they saw you were trying to hang yourself but you just fell down from the second floor of it when the rope broke".
So the suicidal attempt did happened!.... but where's......
"Is Princess Twilight here?".
"I'm sorry dear but who's that?".
Sunset eyes were wide, she looked shock. Her princess wasn't here, she saw a person came inside the door and hugged her a little tight. It was her childhood friend Sonata Dusk.
"Sunny your awake!".
"Sonny!, do you know if the princess had been visiting here?".
"Uh what princess?".
Sunset broke off the hug and puts her hands on her head gripping her hair, her red and yellow hair was reached to her lower back and it was a little bit messy. She knew that she had introduced Princess Twilight to her friends, why didn't they remember her?. Sunset got up quickly and left the room fast while she heard voices telling her to stop.
She escaped at the hospital and it was raining so hard, she didn't care. She needed to see her princess, her savior, her world. She was running barefooted to CHS, it hurts but it was worth it. She was avoiding people who was greeting her, who was shock that a celebrity has woken up from a coma, and people whispering. Sunset felt her tears shed through her eyes, all of the moments with Princess Twilight was all..... fake?.
"Let me show your there's another way.... Sunset Shimmer, we can be friends".
"I'm so happy that you loved me back!".
"Sorry its just that is the most cheesiest romance beginning I've ever heard!".
"Wow.... I didn't know you were such a flirt ball since you were young Casanova".
"Good morning sunshine".
She keeps falling down the ground due to how slippery the side walk is, 1 hour later she was in front of the statue and touched the mirror of the statue. It just felt like a normal mirror, she punched the mirror angrily and carefully not to break it. She was crying so hard that all of the moments that she and her princess shared was all fake.
"PRINCESS!!..... was this all.... a dream?".
Sunset continued to cry as the rain gets heavier. She didn't care, all she ever care is her friends, her family, and her princess. All of the moments they shared together was all a dream, she screamed loudly from the top of her lungs. She wanted to take the pain away, but she didn't want to die for her.
Sunset punched the floor and whispering the princess's name over and over again. Celestia was going outside to see her daughter crying, she gasp and opened her umbrella. She ran to her daughter and shielded her from the rain while hugging her.
"Sunshine your awake!".
"Mom, have you seen Princess Twilight?".
"Princess Twilight? sunshine I..... I don't know how you even know her but she left".
Sunset hugged her Mom tightly as she cried so hard, All Celestia can do was hug her daughter and kiss her head. She didn't like to see her daughter cry, it hurts her. Sunset however, was hurt. She felt her heart was breaking into pieces.
"Princess....".
