//-------------------------------------------------------// 7 Deaths -by SouthernGhost1865- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Just Shy of A Quick Death //-------------------------------------------------------// Just Shy of A Quick Death 7/11/18 Lake Everfree, Mississippi 1:30 PM Central Lake Everfree is a small town twenty miles southwest of Canterlot and two miles north of Lake Everfree in the middle of a forest on the west side of the M&D Mainline which wrapped around the lake going west and then turning back south. A mile east of town was Lake Everfree Park which was like a fairly small national park except logging operations were allowed there, it had cabins mostly on the lake near the beach area, the lake allowed swimming, fishing and other types of water sports. There were several trails that people would walk down some areas crossed over the railroad tracks and one section was a ledge that went just above the tracks meaning if you slipped you would fall fifteen feet onto the railroad tracks which were very busy since there was a Georgia Pacific warehouse located in Lake Everfree as well as a grain elevator, and sawmill. Fluttershy parked her red 2010 Camry in the dirt parking lot located near a trailhead which split off into four sections one going to the lakeside cabins, one going to the campgrounds, and two both in the eastern direction went onto two different walking trails one turning north and the other turning south. Fluttershy was alone but there were still several people at the park there was a Blades of Fury concert at the park that day and she was waiting for Sunset and Twilight who wouldn’t arrive for hours since the concert was at 5:30 so she decided to take a relaxing walk on the south trail, she was wearing a red tank top, black denim shorts, gray socks, pink tennis shoes she had a clip for her phone with white earbuds plugged into them, she also had a red and black backpack with things like water and a first-aid kit inside she also had her hair in a ponytail to keep it out of her eyes. She put her earbuds in and turned on her music it some older punk rock it was the song Self Esteem by The Offspring and began down the south trail. She walked about two hundred feet before reaching a railroad crossing with wooden planks crossing over two tracks the crossing was just wide enough for a tractor as was the trail since there were workers that used tractors to usually bush hog the trails. The crossing had a typical crossbuck on each side except they were just red and didn’t have any writing on them, they also had reflective strips on them as to be easier to see at night. She looked down the northbound track and saw a train approaching it was a loaded GP train lead by M&D AR-17 6543 with the Georgia Pacific logo painted just below the number and M&D AR-17 2998 which was like normal it had a large rectangle with two smaller rectangles connected to it with M&D painted inside with large black letters the entire unit except for the top was a dark green. The train pulled by sounding its horn a K5LLA they both looked like SD40-2’s except for they were longer, the nose was slightly shorter, they had light’s at the top of the cab and ditch lights the lights on the nose being red lights that automatically triggered when in reverse, they also had 3,700 horsepower and three cab doors instead of two, two on the back of the cab and one on the front. Both units were facing forwards and they pulled a train of thirteen boxcars loaded with Paper from the warehouse, and two tankers with corn oil in them and a Red G&P caboose going at 30 MPH so it cleared pretty quickly. After it cleared she looked down the tracks both ways to see if another train was coming when she saw the tracks were clear she walked across to a small yet fairly steep incline in the trail everything was fine but when she was halfway up she began to feel short of breath she was surprised at this since she had walked this trail plenty of times so this was shocking but she had been working that day she was lucky to get off early so she figured it was because she was tired and she continued. The trail was four miles long and ended near where the cabins where at which was around where the concert was gonna be they were setting up the stage and it would take around two hours to complete the trail at a casual pace, around thirty minutes into her walk she could hear the band doing a sound check she heard their lead in a deep southern accent “Testing, Testing 1 2 3.........Nachos......The Big Bayou Accident was an inside job by Big Barge to sabotage Amtrak.” She snickered at those comments knowing that they were just joking around like they usually did during sound checks since she had been to several concerts and heard the sound test as she walked she heard them do a guitar test performing the intro to Remedy as a test she had decided to take her earbuds out and put them in her pocket while she continued. As she reached to where you could just make out the stage from the back since they had not set up the back yet she could see the amps and the drum kit as well as the people setting up all of the equipment, while she walked she felt a dull pain in her chest it wasn’t much and barely noticeable to the point she didn’t even notice it herself as she walked. She began up a hill that wasn’t very steep but as she climbed she began to feel short of breath and lightheaded the pain now feeling slightly sharper as if someone was poking her in the chest lightly with a knife and her breathing becoming labored, she sat on a rock and pulled her water bottle out of her backpack and began to drink out of it, after doing so she began to take deep breaths before she pulled out her phone but sadly there was no signal which meant she would either have to wait for someone or continue and since she had been walking for nearly an hour so it would only be an hour if she continued at the pace she had been so she decided to continue down the trail since her chest pain had died down and her breathing became easier. She reached the ledge and stopped for a rest as she did an intermodal train (The double stacks and trailer trains) of fifty double stacks and fifty trailers passed below going north lead by four BNSF ES44ac’s connect front to back, back to back, front to front, the train was going 40 MPH right on the speed limit. As she stood on the ledge pain shot through her chest causing her to grip it in pain, as she did so she fell backward off the ledge she didn’t weigh much only around 130 LBS but she still fell hard hitting the center of her back on the left corner of one of the containers shattering that part of her spin and damaging the spinal cord beyond repair, she was also thrown thirty feet and land on the southern track. Somehow she wasn’t knocked out and sat up unable to feel her legs and bleeding from her mouth and nose she watched as a coal train being lead by five M&D SD45’s ran her over dragging her down the track by her chin somehow ripping her in half RIP Fluttershy 1993-2018 Author's Note welcome ladies and gentlemen, this was the first of seven deaths, not brutal enough for ya well each one is more brutal than the last the last being the worst
