Speak Your Mind With Fluttershy ( Feat. Rainbow Dashie Dash )
It's been such a long while since I've been out to eat with a friend, even longer for that friend to be Rainbow Dash, she's usually so busy with well everything. But I don't mind being a friend isn't about being seen, but about being there when it matters the utmost.
Rainbow is as quick on her feet as ever, you could say she's dashing ahead right now. Wearing her lovely blue and white soccer uniform, always so proud to show off her school pride, a true champion in heart and soul.
Her hair is a Technicolor rainbow of vibrant colors, though it could use a brush at the moment. Long locks in wild waves that flowed in every direction, even a few leaves were stuck near the lower back of her hair.
I shook my head softly, reaching into my oversized pink purse in search of that adorable butterfly brush I bought last week. Wearing something just casual for the moment, a pastel turquoise top with rose colored straps and a cute pink mini skirt to compliment.
“We're here Fluttershy!” Rainbow suddenly exploded her face in front of my own in excitement, her violet eyes shining as bright as twin moons.
“Oh dear!” I gave a yelp in utter shock, my friend catching me off guard before the brush in my hand went flying out a nearby open window to my left.
Gone into the horizon, though never to be forgotten.
“It's just a pizza party Rainbow, I'm so happy you invited me as your…” I gave a tender smile, walking ahead through the wooden door my friend held open politely.
Though no pizza could be seen, the festivities were not underway nor did the walls have any colorful cheerful decor. The guests were non-existent, music did not fill the air with a melody of glee.
Just a small claustrophobic room met my gaze, a few school pride decorations or student made posters hung upon the walls lacklusterly. A single computer stood proudly on the large wooden desk which took up about eighty percent of the space, a odd black device sat near the edge flashing in dull colors of red or green.
Smack down in the middle though was a most frightful sight indeed, standing straight and poised much like a metallic silver cobra on the desk was a microphone. Ready to strike and lunge towards me in anger, the color draining from my cheeks and body within a matter of seconds.
“Surprise, I bought you air time for a year!” Rainbow nearly did a front flip into the room, her face that of excitement and joy.
“Air-a-whata?” I felt myself ramble in a near whisper.
“The school is hosting a Variety Block, a cool radio program in which the student's can host their own shows!” Rainbow skid across the room, pulling out the small plastic chair from under the desk for me.
I simply stood in terrified silence, nearly as white as a ghost at this point.
“Principal Celestia bought the air time at the local radio station, the student's able to buy as much time on air as they wanted!” Rainbow slowly lifted up the metallic cobra, waving it towards me with a squee.
“How much did it cost? I could pay you back!” I felt my lips contorting into some odd crooked shape of despair and embarrassment.
“Pay me? Fluttershy, I did this for you!?” Rainbow gave a hurt expression, placing the cobra back upon the desk.
“Thank you, but I'm just not a talkative person.” I felt weak, leaning up against the nearby white wall to my right, taking deep calming breaths.
“That's the point Fluttershy, you are amazing, smart and funny! I'd just like everyone to see what I see, someone full of confidence and ready to have her voice heard.” Rainbow slowly came to my side, placing a reassuring hand on my shoulder.
“I just can't right now…” My voice came out nearly non-existent.
“Well that's ok, today is just a warm up! The channel doesn't launch till tomorrow, we're on after Derpy's Delectable Desserts!” Rainbow gave a light hearted giggle, hand patting my shoulder softly.
“It's not right now?” My voice returning to normal ever cautiously.
“Do you see this place packed!?” Rainbow smirked and ran over to the seat, pouncing into it happily as she did multiple spins in place.
“I suppose so?” My heart came to a calm collected rhythm.
“So what do you say Fluttershy, willing to just give it a try once?” My friend let her lower lip pout, her eyes doubling in size full of sorrow.
“I guess just once Rainbow, maybe I could even come up with a name? Like Anne Onymous or Anon-A-Miss?” I flashed my friend a half smile.
“No offense, that's just plain hokey!” Rainbow stood up proudly, placing her hands upon her hips sternly.
“But it's um, fun?” I gave a very nervous giggle.
“Yeah, but we're not some mysterious weirdo trying to stir up gossip! We need to be a place people want to call into, a place people trust and…” Rainbow bit her lower lip gently, hand on chin in deep thought.
“Can speak their mind?” I let my eyes fall to the clean floor blushing.
“So awesome! That is exactly why you should be the Host!” Rainbow gave a squeal of excitement, rushing over to embrace me in a tight hug.
“I guess I can, just tomorrow though.” I let myself smile genuinely to Rainbow, walking to the desk and taking a seat politely.
“I knew you wouldn't let me down!” Rainbow did a few jumps in place, her fist clutching excitedly.
“Besides, what are the chances anyone will even call in to a new show?” I let myself smile in a sense of reassured tranquility.
“I know, so I had Sunny spread the word about us uptown!” My friend began to dance in place, swaying her body side to side in a playful manner.
My skin now a pale white hue, I could see the world vanishing from view as I sunk beneath the desk in pure terror. I wanted to sink far into the Earth's crust never to be seen again, unfortunately I was stopped at the floor.
