Chapter 41: Double Date
Previous ChapterNext ChapterSunset and Cloud were heading towards the Salty Stallion, Cloud smiled “I still can’t believe that Fluttershy of all ponies is a fashion model, before she met you she wouldn’t have been so bold.”
Sunset frowned “When we first talked I told that it was important to keep that bunny under control. She agreed with me and that has affected her, still Gilda helped first showed her how to stand up for herself. I just reminded her of it and provided an example of strength with control, in truth I believe she feared her own ablities.”
Cloud frowned “I see” she then shook her head “Now is not the time to dwell on that.”
Sunset smiled as she saw Rainbow and Gilda “Agreed, after all we’re here.”
Gilda grinned “It’s about time you two showed up, I hope the two of you can stomach meat.”
Sunset frowned “I’ve seen more death than you, I have seen a lot of copses. A little meat won’t bother me.”
Cloud nodded “While my police career is not as filled with corpses as Sunset’s I’ve seen my fair share of action so I’ll be fine.”
Rainbow grinned “Well then let’s go, I’m getting hungry.”
Gilda was about to make a snarky comment when all their stomach’s rumbled in unison. They all laughed as they entered, they all took a seat together Gilda smiled “So anything interesting happening to you two lately.”
Sunset shook her head “Not really, and I’d like to keep it that way. When something interesting happens to me it’s usually zombies, trust me zombies are really dangerous. If you are not careful they can swarm you.”
Rainbow grimaced “I don’t ever want to face them if I can help it.”
Cloud shook her head “Enough of that depressing talk” she then grinned at Gilda and Rainbow “So have you two been in bed yet?’
Gilda and Rainbow blushed, Gilda took a deep breath before speaking “We haven’t technically, we don’t feel like it’s the right time.”
Sunset frowned “While I undersatnd that, don’t hesitate because of the past. We only get one life, don’t have any regrets when it ends.”
Cloud frowned “That is a bit of a dark topic, I was hoping we could enjoy each other’s company without that coming up.”
Sunset sighed “I’m sorry that I’m ruining this, it’s just I don’t really have much to say. I don’t have much to me other than the military life.”
Rainbow smiled “Well you were trained at the Police Academy, so what did you learn and who did you meet?”
Sunset frowned “Well there was the current Police Captain, Shining Armour. Didn’t get along at first, I thought he was a weak willed nerd. I tried to pound him with my magic a few times.”
Cloud blinked “That was you, I heard about it from Shining Armour when we bumped into each back when he was still a rookie.”
Sunset frowned “It was two months in when I was put in my place, there was a dragon in the force and she beat me up a lot. I deserved it too, in fact I think I was busy shoving Shining’s head into a toilet at the time when she first beat me up. In fact she guarded Shining a lot during my time there.”
Gilda blinked “A dragon in the force, that seems quite strange. Dragons usually don’t like ponies.”
Cloud’s eyes widened “Wait, are you talking about Flame Wing? She has orange scales and dark black spines, she can even set her entire body on fire with no ill effects. I have heard that she was recently promoted to the commander of the Night Guard.”
Rainbow grinned “That sounds awesome!” They all ordered food when a waiter arrived.
Cloud frowned “Sunset did you make any friend in the force?”
Sunset shook her head “No, honestly my first friend probably was Snow Cross. She was my fellow survivor friend from Squirrel City, we met with each other for the first time in the police station there.”
Gilda raised an eyebrow “Well that is certainly a strange way to make a friend.”
Cloud frowned “Not really, friends forged in the line of fire are friend to the end. Sometimes being drawn together by the need to survive creates the strongest of bonds.”
Rainbow nodded “Well the Wonderbolts from I can tell from my day with them, they seem to be good friends so it does hold up.”
Before any of them could comment a plate of fish pasta was placed in front of Rainbow while a Cloud and Sunset both got Fish Curries. Gilda got a simple marinated fish. Cloud frowned as Rainbow shoved her muzzle into the food “Rainbow, stop eating like a pig.”
Gilda shrugged as she began tearing into her fish like a rabid dog, Cloud gave Sunset a pleading look “Back me up here, they are eating like pigs.”
Sunset raised an eyebrow “Cloud, we are not like those stuck up ponies in Canterlot who believe in all that fancy nonsense. Come on, did in.”
Cloud sighed as Sunset began shovelling food into her muzzle “If you can’t beat them, join them. Cloud sighed as she joined the messy eaters around her as they devoured their food much to the smiles of everyone else in the restaurant pony or otherwise who soon followed their lead.
