Sunset was hanging out with her friends and marefriend who were all dressed up for the Gala. A carriage had arrived to take them to the Gala, Rainbow grinned “We’re going to have some real fun today?’

Gilda whispered into her ear, everyone save Rarity and Rainbow giggled as Rainbow’s wings flared out and her cheeks were turning purple. Rarity frowned “Why do I have a feeling you said something inappropriate.”

Sunset commented “You mean like talking about sex” she frowned as Rarity eyes widened in horror “Don’t give me that look, I’m sure you were thinking it too. It’s just me and Cloud here are the only two who have the guts to say in your presence.”

Rarity huffed “It’s not my fault that you have bad manners.”

Applejack frowned “Rarity, everyone can’t be like you. Ah don’t place as high a value on manners as ya do and that’s mah choice to make.”

Rarity rubbed the back of her head “Maybe I place too much thought about being part of high society and not enough on the friends I have around me.”

Cloud smiled “It’s okay Rarity, we all make mistakes from time to time.”

They had arrived in Canterlot, as soon as they entered the Gala they saw that several tables has food and drinks on them. Rainbow, Pinkie and Gilda headed off with grins on their faces. Sunset raised an eyebrow as a white unicorn stallion with a blond mane wearing a fine suit was next to a light blue thestral with a rainbow mane “Hello Blueblood, who’s your friend.”

Blueblood smiled “She’s actually my marefriend of a few months, her name is Spectrum.”

Spectrum looked at the ground nervously “Um, I’m Spectrum.”

Sunset smiled as she crouched “My name is Sunset Shimmer it’s a pleasure to meet you.” Blueblood gave the mare a kiss, she squeaked in response. Sunset raised an eyebrow ”So how did you two meet?”

Blueblood frowned “She was bullied by some of the other Thestrals because of her bright colours and demure demeanour, I cleared them away with a bit of magic.”

Sunset grimaced “Thestrals are bit like Pegasi in that way, any of their kind that are outside of the norm tend to get shunned by the whole.”

Blueblood smiled as he looked at Spectrum “Do you wish to dance?” Spectrum blushed slightly as she nodded.

Cloud had come back with some punch “That mare looked like Rainbow Dash if she was a Thestral.”

Sunset frowned “Couldn’t be more different in demeanour though.” Sunset then sighed as she heard Rarity scream “Well Rainbow probably pranked somebody she shouldn’t have.”

Sunset and Cloud arrived to see Rarity weeping as she had cake on her dress, meanwhile ponies were throwing food at each other in fury. Sunset walked over to her and cast a few cleansing spells quickly removing the cake and stains as if they were never there. Rarity wiped her tears “Thank you.”

Sunset nodded as she put up a magical shield “I’ll escort you out of the room.” As she did so Cloud was smiling as she watched the carnage, Blueblood was ignoring what was going on as he was cuddling Spectrum. That was until a pie thrown by Rainbow flew over Applejack’s head landing on Spectrum’s dress, Spectrum began crying.

Blueblood’s eyes narrowed as she turned to Rainbow Dash, soon every pastry in the room was lifted into the air and flew towards the brash pegasus who was soon buried in baked goods. Blueblood then escorted his crying marefriend out of the room, everyone in the room was tense as she kept his eyes on the room until they were out of sightlines.

Sunset frowned a the mess “Well this is just fantastic.”

Celestia flew over to her with a smile “Indeed, you know I was hoping for something like this! The Gala is full of those stuck up nobles who constantly complain to me about everything but look everyone is just throwing pies and other things at each other, this is what it means to have fun.”

Sunset frowned “The question is where is Fluttershy? She doesn’t seem to be around and..”

Fluttershy burst in with a manic look as animal ran in all directions “YOU WILL LOVE ME!”

Celestia giggled as Sunset sighed “I better go and fix that before she makes an even bigger mess.”

Celestia smiled as her daughter tried to catch the wayward animal lover “Well I’d say this is the best night ever.” Everyone at the castle was exhausted by the time the Gala ended due to the chaotic nature of the event.
