Sunset had just woke up, it had been a week since she had returned from Canterlot. Cloud Kicker smiled “Tonight is Nightmare Night, are you ready for it?”

Sunset shuddered “I’ve seen enough horrors to know that I don’t wish to actually get involved into a night of false horrors.”

Spike walked down the stairs carrying a letter “Sunset, I’m afraid you should join in. Princess Luna will be coming down for Nightmare Night and may need some help adjusting to the the festivities.”

Sunset turned to Cloud “Could you stop me if I have an episode because I may have one tonight?”

Cloud Kicker nodded “I will but we need to see if Rarity could make you a costume for tonight. I’ve got work today.”

Sunset sighed “Fine but I have no idea what would really suit me.” Sunset left with a weak smile “Cloud, I’ll see you tonight” she then turned to Spike “Could you watch the house while we’re out.”

Spike smiled “You can count on me.”

Sunset nodded as she and Cloud left their home. Cloud gave Sunset a peck on the cheek “See you tonight, I can’t wait to see your costume.” The two mares separated with smiles on their muzzles.

Sunset walked towards the Carousel Boutique, she knocked on the door. Rarity opened it with a smile “Welcome to… Sunset have reconsidered my offer to make you a costume for tonight.”

Sunset frowned “Unfortunately I have no choice. Luna is coming tonight and that means I need to help her adjust so yes I am in need of a costume but I’m not sure what would suit me.”

Rarity looked over her for a few moments before grinning noticing something “I have an idea!”

Sunset blinked as Rarity galloped back upstairs, she grabbing some objects and came down. Sunset frowned as she saw a set of fake fangs cads well as box of other things she didn’t recognise, Sunset raised an eyebrow “What is this?”

Rarity smiled “Well I noticed how wild you look, your coat is long and messy not to mention that wild mane. You look like a wild animal already, with a few touches you would make a fantastic werewolf. You even have the claws to match.”

Sunset looked over her wild mane and long thick coat “Huh, I haven’t honestly thought about my appearance. Still I like the wild look, it suits me very well.”

Rarity smiled emphatically “I agree, you are certainly the wild type. Facing against hordes of monsters that most ponies couldn't even fathom.”

Stormwind commented (We are kind of monsters aren’t we.)

Sunset shrugged before smiling “I suppose, Cloud and I could do with a proper date soon. Anyway what do you need to do Rarity?”

Rarity grinned as she pulled out a set of sharp fake fangs “These are all you really need and maybe something for your eyes to make them narrower.” Rarity blinked as Sunset’s eyes narrowed to slits while glowing silver, she then smiled “Well that works.”

Sunset raised an eyebrow “What works?” Rarity pulled out a mirror, Sunset looked at herself in it “It does work and I like it. I can see better like this too.”

Stormwind grinned (It was little change I made, thought you would like it)

Sunset smiled (I do.) She then turned to Rarity “I want to try on those fangs if you don’t mind?”

Rarity smiled “Sure but you have to open your mouth first.” Sunset stood there as Rarity levitated the false fangs into place, Rarity smile widened “It looks perfect on you.”

Sunset grinned “Maybe I can spook Dash? I still owe her for putting glue in my shampoo.”

Rarity nodded with a smile, Sunset headed out to the Ghastly Gorge and spent the rest of the day training by herself. She returned home and after a quick shower greeted Cloud Kicker “Welcome home.”

Cloud Kicker grinned “You’re a werewolf, it does really suit you. Let me go and get mine.” Sunset hummed to herself as she patiently awaited her marefriend to come down, Cloud grinned “I’m back.”

Sunset turned around to see Cloud Kicker with yellow slitted eyes a pair of bat wings in place of her normal wings. Sunset smiled “You look good, I must admit that is a powerful illusion.”

Cloud Kicker grinned “I’m glad you recognised it, it represents the Thestrals who have been slowly returning to Equestria since Luna’s return.”

Sunset grinned as she saw the moon lower, she gave Cloud a peck on the cheek “Come on, if I’m going to go out tonight I might as well have some fun with my marefriend.”

Spike ran down in a small red demon costume “I’m coming too!” The trio left the building, they saw a small wooden tub full of green water and apples as a group of ponies in various costume threw spiders at a web.

Pinkie Pie bounced over to the group in a chicken costume “We have a Demon, a Werewolf and a Thestral. I wonder what other costume could possibly…” Pinkie and Spike shrieked as a bolt of lightning struck nearby. Cloud and Sunset rolled their eyes as they saw Rainbow in a Shadowbolts uniform.

Sunset and Cloud joined Zecora who had spiders as she began to tell the tale of Nightmare Moon while Spike went off to get candy, the two ponies cuddled as they listened to the tale that changed their lives forever. The story was about to come to end when a chariot pulled by Thestrals landed coming from the moon. Luna stepped out, her voice booming loudly “CITIZENS OF PONYVILLE! WE HAVE GRACED YOU WITH OUR PRSENCE SO THAT YOU MAY NO LONGER FEAR THE NIGHT! WE ARE NO LONGER A CREATURE OF NIGHTMARES BUT A GUARDIAN WHO WILL PROTECT YOU FROM ALL THAT GOES BUMP IN THE NIGHT!”

Everypony screamed “It’s Nightmare Moon, she has come to eat us all!”

Luna slumped onto the ground “It’s the same as it was one thousand years ago, ponies still fear us.”

Sunset and Cloud trotted over to her with a smile, Sunset shook her head “It’s not like that Luna.”

Luna blinked as she sat up to see Sunset “What do you mean?”

Cloud giggled “Nightmare Night is the night of horror, we are supposed to be scared. That’s part of the fun, how about we show you.” She then whispered in Sunset’s ears and Sunset grinned.

Sunset ran on all fours up to the hill, while Cloud Kicker hung upside down on a tree. Sunset let out a fearsome howl, everypony freaked out as her silvery wolf-like eyes looked at different ponies before chasing them down as they screamed.

Rainbow Dash grinned as she sat on her cloud giggling “Well it’s not like she can get me out here.” She let out a shriek as as bat-like creature knocked her off her cloud onto the ground pining her completely, Rainbow Dash looked into Cloud’s eyes “Cloud, don’t do this.”

Cloud’s eyes glowed yellow “But what if I want to.” Cloud bit down on Rainbow’s neck, she screamed as she felt blood trickle down her neck Cloud’s fangs piercing her flesh.

Cloud then giggled as she got off the cocky mare “I got you good, didn’t I Dash?”

Rainbow glared “You actually bit me, it really hurt. It will take…” Rainbow touched the side of her neck where she was bitten only to find no blood or even tattered uniform.

Cloud grinned “That is a very effective illusion, it is designed to emulate the real situation as accurately as possible.”

Several of the foals laughed as they looked at Sunset “Could you scare us again?”

Sunset smiled “How about you let Luna join in on the scaring? She has been feeling out of place since she has returned.”

One colt totted over to her with a smile “We would love for to scare us next Nightmare Night.”

Luna smiled weakly “Really, if you’d let me.” The foals cheered as they crowded around the Princess of the Night as they unknowingly began to heal the damaged Alicorn’s aching heart.
