Facing Down Death

Twilight was walking torwards her castle as she was at Sugarcube Corber trying to find Pinkie Pie because she wanted to give her a present.

Twilight had just spent the night at Fluttershy's cottage just to hang out and do girly stuff with Fluttershy. They had given eachother a manicure and brushed eachothers hair while they gossiped. It had been a fun night and Twilight was hoping to repeat it again someday.

When she had realized Pinkie Pie wasnt at Sugarcube Corner she decided that her castle was the next place to look. When she got inside her castle Pinkie Pie was in leggings and was barefoot and balancing onto of a balance beam.

Twilight was not expecting to see Pinkie Pie being that athletic but remembered that Pinkie Pie was full of daily surprises. Pinkie Pie back flipped off of it and landed on her feet on the mat with a smile on her face.

"Hey Twilight! Sorry for intruding on your lovely home but I just wanted to have some fun." She giggled.

"How....how did you do that?" Twilight stammered in amazement. Pinkie Pie looked at the beam and shrugged with a smile.

"Practice silly! I've been doing gymnastics by myself for a long time. You've just havent seen it till now." Pinkie Pie said.

"You didnt think tell me or show me?" Twilight asked. Pinkie Pie frowned.

"I wasnt trying to hide it from you but at the same time I never told you anyway just in case you would think it was dumb." Pinkie Pie admitted. Twilight was shocked. She couldnt believe Pinkie Pie would think that. She couldnt imagine any reason of why Pinkie Pie thought that she would be seen as dumb.

"It isnt dumb Pinkie! Who told you that?" Twilight exclaimed as she wondered why Pinkie Pie would believe in such a thought.

"Nobody told me that I was just thinking that you would...can I tell you something..." Pinkie Pie asked. Twilight was alarmed of this change of attitude and wondered what Pinkie Pie was going to tell her.

"Yeah sure let me hear it." Twilight said with hesitation as she didnt know where this was going.

"You know how I've been learning to balance?" Pinkie Pie asked. Twilight nodded. Pinkie Pie spoke.

"I've decided that I need more thrill in my life. Gymnastics and acrobatics is fun and everything but it's missing its danger factor, after defeating all those villians ive become comfortable again with a safe status and my life not in danger and I'm sick of it." Pinkie Pie admitted.

Twilight was becoming very alarmed by what Pinkie Pie was saying. She was scared of what Pinkie Pie would tell her. She didnt want her friend to do something dangerous.

"Pinkie...what are you talking about?" Twilight asked with a scared expression. Pinkie Pie giggled.

"Theres a long way down near some skyscrapers in Manehattan that would probably kill someone. I'm going to walk over the streets on a tight rope." Pinkie Pie said.

Twilight freaked out, she didnt want Pinkie Pie to do this or she would die, Pinkie Pie was her best friend and she wouldnt know how she could cope if the party planner died. Pinkie always made her laugh and feel at ease so this suggestion put her into panic mode.

"Pinkie absolutely not! You and my friends have already been in enough nerve wracking trouble! Your not doing this!" Twilight said.

"You don't have a say in it. Theres citizens who are going to watch me do this. I've been training for this Twilight...this can be the time for me to finally prove my worth. I can finally validate myself!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed.

"Your crazy Pinkie Pie! Why would you want to risk your life?! Your family would be devastated if you were killed! Dont do this!" Twilight yelled. Pinkie Pie shrugged.

"Were all a little bit crazy but so what. I need to make my mark Twilight I must do something extraordinary." Pinkie Pie said. Pinkie Pie left Twilight to her thoughts.

The next few days were a blur as Pinkie asked for permission from the city and bought a leotard. They warned her not to do it but she didnt give in as she knew that she could do this.

Soon it was the day. Pinkie Pie was at the rock farm as she had stayed with her family before her stunt in case if she died causing them to never see them again.

As she got ready in her room their was a knock on her door. Pinkie Pie smiled and said that they could open the door and Maud stared at her with her plain expression.

"Hey Maud! Are you coming to watch..." Pinkie began to say but Maud went up to her stood in her way.

"Maud...what are you doing? Can you get out of the way?" Pinkie asked in confusion as she tried to get out of the way.

"I'm not letting you leave this room...Pinkie...I'm not going to let you risk your life!" Maud explained. Pinkie was not expecting Maud to be so verbal, she tried to push past her but Maud held her back.

"Get out of the way Maud! It's not like I'm going to slip or anything. I've been planning for this! I'm prepared!" Pinkie yelled.

"And are your friends prepared!? Is our birth mother prepared? No she was crying all night last night! Because you seem to want to throw your life away in one instant!" Maud exclaimed.

"I'm not going to die Maud! Ugh you dont understand!" Pinkie complained.

"No your right I dont understand. I dont understand why you are so willing to go through with signing your death warrant!" Maud yelled.

"I have been training for this! I'm sure Im not going to die!" Pinkie ranted.

"You dont know that for sure! You could make one bad step and plummet to your death! I'm not letting that happen!" Maud yelled. Pinkie Pie tried to get past her sister.

Pinkie Pie struggled to get out but it did no good.

"I'm going to tell them that you got sick at the last minute. I'm doing this for your own good Pinkie Pie!" Maud stated.

Pinkie Pie finally got passed Maud.

"Maud it will be okay I promise that I'll survive." Pinkie Pie said. Pinkie hugged Maud and left.

"Please think about this Pinkie!" Maud begged. Pinkie stopped and shook her head.

"If i do that i wont achieve greatness." Pinkie pie said sadly.

Maud watched her with despair in her eyes. She broke down and cried.

Pinkie Pie got dressed in her short sleeved leotard made for the occasion. Besides it would make the autopsy easy if she was to slip and fall to her death that day.

Soon Pinkie Pie arrived at Manehattan where everybody in the entire city had heard before hand about this attempt. Before Pinkie Pie could get up there Rarity ran up to her.

"Pinkie Pie please be careful. It's not windy but if it gets worse it will make it even more risky." Rarity said. Pinkie Pie hugged her.

"If I die tell Twilight and my family to forgive me." Pinkie said. Rarity cried and nodded.

As Pinkie Pie made it up the stairs in the skyscraper her heart started to beat wildly. She as might as well just have coffins lined up by the wire for use just in case she slipped to her death since she was pretty much going to the grave.

She knew she was making a huge risk, her family would never forgive her if she was to die that day. Still she wa determined to live.

When Pinkie Pie got up to the top of the tower she slipped her shoes off and took her socks off and look down at the street below her. The crowd that watched her was made of thousands of citizens. Traffic had stopped that day due to her stunt.

Before Pinkie Pie could start Nurse Redheart came up the steps. Pinkie Pie shook her hand.

"Pinkie Pie I'm here today just in case you fall and kill yourself. If you die I'll establish the cause of death and work with your family to give you the burial you deserve. I need to ask you a few questions before you start." Nurse Redheart.

"That's fine. What do you want to know?" Pinkie Pie asked.

"Is their a way you want to be buried?" The nurse asked. Pinkie Pie knew that If she fell to her death her body would splatter if it hit the ground. She didnt want to be buried like that as it would just cause further heartache at her funeral.

"I want to be cremated and buried in a plot back at the rock farm." Pinkie Pie answered firmly. Nurse Redheart wrote it down and spoke.

"Who do you want your will to be made for?" Nurse Redheart asked. Pinkie Pie frowned as she thought about her family. She felt sad she was doing this to them and realized her sister was right but she still needed to do this. She finally spoke.

"I want you to give almost all my possessions in my room to Maud with the exception of my party cannon, she could...decorate them with rocks if she wants. Give Gummy to Fluttershy because shes great at taking care of animals...give Limestone my baby photos as I dont think nobody else will want them. That's about it." Pinkie Pie said.

Nurse Redheart finished writing down her will and then spoke.

"Good luck Pinkie Pie." Nurse Redheart said as she left to join the others on the street watching from above. Pinkie Pie knew that this was it. There was no going back now.

Pinkie Pie knew that she could refuse to go through with it but then that would just make her feel as if she was bowing down to the demands that she doesnt do it. Pinkie Pie was going to prove that she can do this because if she didnt she would seem like a coward.

Pinkie Pie shuffled her bare feet close to the wire and looked down at the crowd. The fall from that height would certainly kill her. She took deep breaths.

As she took deep breaths she felt a sense of dread come over her as she thought about the drop miles down below, if she made one wrong step or slipped she would plummet to her demise in front of her friends and family which would traumatize them. She couldn't let that happen.

She took a few more deep breaths and finally stopped stalling as she placed her bare feet on the wire. Pinkie Pie gulped and her breath caught in her throat so she stepped back off the wire and tried to calm herself again.

After a few deep breaths she stepped back on the wire as thousands of people including her neighbors and friends all watched her.

Pinkie Pie took deep breaths as she rested for a bit and then very carefully she took another step. The entire crowd fell quiet in suspense. Twilight and her friends watched intensely while others looked away.

Back on the rope Pinkie Pie carefully took a slow step which propelled her forth on the wire.

Pinkie Pie gulped as sweat dripped from her forehead, she focused on the area straight in front of her as she paid the streets no mind. She knew that if she looked down it would make her more nervous.

Back on the ground Twilight had her hands clasped in anxiety as as she watched the life risking stunt her friend was doing. Applejack had her face buried in her hat as she took a glance every few seconds while Fluttershy cried. Rainbow Dash looked up as she tried to keep her nervous feeling inside of her.

Back on the rope Pinkie Pie began to get wobbly on the long rope causing the audience to gasp. Pinkie Pie did her best to stabilize herself.

Once she got stabilized again she began walking further torwards the other building. She was half way there but still had a bit more to go.

Pinkie's heart pounded in her chest. She was sweating profusely. This was the closest to death she had ever been.

As Pinkie Pie walked the closer she got to the other side. She could almost taste the safety since it was so close to her.

Pinkie Pie decided to spend the process up she took bigger steps and soon she made it to the other side.

When she did that she carefully stepped off the wire and the crowd went absolutely wild as they all cheered for her. When she got on stable ground on she felt a sense of relief and accomplishment. She raced downstairs to see her friends.

When she got downstairs all six of her friends tackled her and hugged her profusely as they didnt stop. They had all been so scared for Pinkie as she could have died.

"Dont ever do this again Pinkie! Ever!" Fluttershy warned assertively as they hugged and kissed her as the crowd cheered for her.

"As radical as it is that you made it we will never let you do something like this again!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed.

"That was nuts Sugarcube!" Applejack managed to say as she was speechless from what happened.

Pinkie Pie squealed from the sudden love attack her friends were delivering upon her. Their worries had all been washed away. Pinkie Pie had so much reassurences and apologies to say but was unable to as her friends had pinned her to the ground and were kissing and hugging her.

After the emotional moment Pinkie Pie's friends released her from their grasped and she went to her room in Sugarcube Corner only to be hugged by Maud as Maud was sitting on the bed.

"That was stupid Pinkie! Stupid stupid stupid!" Maud cried. Pinkie Pie hugged her back.

"I know I scared everyone today." Pinkie acknowledged.

"I thought you were going to die Pinkie Pie! You risked your life in front of thousands of people! You were close to throwing your life away! I was worried sick! Tell me right now why you shouldnt go across my lap and get spanked?!" Maud exclaimed.

As Pinkie Pie heard her say that she knew that Maud was right, she had risked her life in a stupid manner but at the same time she felt like she accomplished the impossible.

"Dont worry I wont do it again. I only needed to do it once." Pinkie Pie said.

Maud stared at her in shock. Maud decided not to punish as she pulled Pinkie into a hug.

After that Pinkie cuddled with Maud as Maud laid in the bed.

"Dont you ever do that again to me Pinkie Pie. Dont ever risk your life again." Maud said.

"I know...I pinkie promise that I wont." Pinkie Pie said. It was a promise she will never break.
