Chapter 160

The dungeon raiding party left Hogwarts behind them as they made their way further down the hall.

“I literally have infinite money!” Micro says. “I’m not selling it to Frida!”

“It doesn’t have to be money,” Scoots sighs. “Think of what she’d do in trade.”

Shiro and Sweetie just watch the two bickering over whether or not to give the invisibility cloak to Frida. Before they could say anything, they saw the next two doors. The first had a W overlapping a Y while the other was emblazoned with some kind of helmet.

“Well…” Shiro mutters. “This will be interesting.”

“Hey you two,” Sweetie calls back. “You can argue about whether you can get in Frida’s pants with that thing later. Come take a look.”

Micro took one look at the doors and instantly went to the one with the helmet.

“Wait,” Scoots starts. “Shouldn’t we discuss it?”

“Does the name Weyland Yutani mean anything to you?” Micro asks. Upon seeing his girlfriend shake her head, he nods. “If it did, you’d know why we are not going through that door. Here, we have what will certainly be a challenging hunter. In there, for all I know, we’d become hosts for an alien parasite.”

“We should think about it for a moment though,” Shiro says.

“Scoots and I at least need a brief on what all our opponent will have,” Sweetie agrees. Micro blushes and nods. Shiro just smiles as he begins.

“There’s something in there waiting for us. It ain’t no man. We are all gonna…” he pauses. “You know, probably shouldn’t finish that particular quote.

Spike

The sound of crunching metal was heard as Spike, in full Dracokin form, was knocked back into one of the many abandoned cars in the junkyard. Growling he pushes himself off and shoots toward Ember as she rears back her head and sends a jet of flame at him. Roaring, Spike dives straight through the flames and grabs her by the throat, knocking her back into another car.

“I’m glad you never joined the Fangs,” Ember says, strained. “I never would’ve taken over if you had been.”

“Thanks,” Spike pants as he lets go, pulling back as Ember rubs her throat. “So, have you thought about what I told you?”

Ember sighs but nods.

“It will be hard to convince the rest of the Fangs to help with this...Tirek?” Spike nods in affirmation. “Right. There are still many that aren’t happy I’ve put a stop to most of their activities. If I try to force them to fight a fight they don’t consider theirs we could have a civil war.”

“What if you don’t force them?” Spike asks. “Tell them about Tirek, the threat he poses to every Ability User, and ask for volunteers to fight. That should avoid them giving you crap about forcing them into “not their fight” and will also possibly give us more forces in the fight.”

Ember opens her mouth to say something...before closing it again.

“That...typically isn’t the Fangs way...or even the way for most Dracokin. Usually the strongest just tells you what to do.”

“Well that’s why sometimes it pays to try other options. Sometimes tradition isn’t always the best approach.”

“Perhaps...Oh! I just remembered.” Turns to Spike. “What is this I hear about you and a true dragon?”

Spike blushes a small bit but it's mostly because Ember isn’t one he would normally talk about those things with. Micro and Sugar? Absolutely. Diamond? She encourages it.

“Well...what did you hear?”

“That succubus you got said you managed to match her in Stamina. Is that true?”

Spike sighes, knowing that since Diamond shared it, there was no point or reason to deny it. Upon seeing him nod, Ember whistles.

“That certainly is something…” Ember mutters. “...So...mind helping me with my stamina training?”

Micro

“Shiro! You son of a bitch!” Micro growls as he hacks through vines and brush with Bloodberry. “I know you rigged that coin flip!”

He couldn’t even use his new Invisibility Cloak as the damn Predator can see heat signatures.

“Come on Danger Sense…” he mutters. “Tell me if he’s-!”

As the screen pops up he drops to the ground, a laser blast shooting right where his head had been. Even with the fact that his Gamer’s Body would save him, that was not something he wanted to get hit by.

Spinning, his eyes followed the trajectory of the blast and he sent a wave of ice magic in a wide spread line. Just barely, he caught sight of a small bit of ice floating in mid air. Sending a blast of fire into the air to signal the others, he shot on a gust of wind toward the ice and brings Bloodberry down toward where he assumes the thing’s neck might be. The sound of energy grinding against metal could be heard as the Predator uncloaked and was holding up one of his wrist blades against the sword.

Shiro

“He’s found it!” Shiro says as they see the fireball appear in the air. Sweetie and Scoots both nod and with Sweetie channeling wind magic and Scoots using Ruby’s speed from her outfit, they shoot into the woods. Shiro stares after them, hand outstretched to stop them before they vanished into the trees. Sighing, he looks back to see the helicopter his chaos magic formed starting to fade.

“I didn’t get to say the best line.”
