The Revelations

It was a calm, quiet night in Canterlot. Celestia had lowered the sun and said good night to her sister. The world was in peace and Harmony ,as it had been for the past thousand years. Her student had proven herself a capable mare, and her friends were their to guide her. Celestia was abut to enter her bed when a bright flash erupted. Her eyes blinked to dispel the blurriness in her eyes. Standing their was a biped wearing very formal clothes. His mane was red and only on the top of his head. His hands coat had a pocket watch, and his gloves bore clock faces on them.

"Celestia, Princess of the sun! I bring you dire news." The figure said. His voice reverberating through the room. The room had a slight chill to it all.

"Who are you?" Celestia asked. The man stepped closer.

"I am The Observer. I am the was born from my mother with the power to observe the world and all its possible fates. Normally I would not speak to others about fate, but my mother told me that should the situation become dire enough, I would be allowed to break my silence." The man said. He extended his hand for Celestia to grab. "Grab my hand and I shall show you what you need to see." He said. Celestia looked at the hand hesitantly slowly holding reaching her hoof forward. Once the two touched the world turned black around them for a minute then the darkness burned off. The land was revealed to be barren and lifeless. .

"Where are we Observer?" She asked looking out into the lifelessness. The man looked down at her.

"This is the plains outside of Canterlot." He said pointing to something. Celestia looked to see the castle completely gone. The mountain was left with crumbled ruins. "This is the Plateau. This fate is what happens should you choose to do nothing to advance. The world saw your weakness and went to war." He said. Celestia saw the sun still in the sky.

"What happened to the day and night?" Celestia asked. A snap of fingers rang out and the two were suddenly in a land of molten lava. sitting in the center of this place was another Celestia.

"You and she were sealed into the Sun with Luna in the moon. You two meet each other on during the eclipses. This allowed the objects to continue moving." The observer said. The other Celestia looked around and her eyes were covered by cloth.

"What is the cloth for?" She asked.

"You became so distraught at the suffering you caused from your decisions that you stabbed them out. Claiming you wished to not see what you caused." He said. Celestia stared at her double. She tried to touch the duplicate but just phased through.

"What about Equestria?" She asked. Another snap and the two were outside of a fortified city.

"The Kingdom of Ponyville is the closest to the old kingdom of Equestria. The rest of it has been eithr occupied, or split into small city states and other things. With the death of Twilight, Spike became the symbol of the old Equestria and rules from Ponyville to Las Pegasus." He said as a flag showed A Dragon holding the sun and Moon in its claws. " The dragon has been searching his entire life for artifacts to bring the two of you back. The Crystal Empire is ruled by Flurry Heart and Cadence, but they closed the empire off from the world after the death of Prince Shining Armor. Poor Cadence is now very closed off to all but her family." He said. The two saw a large dragon with purple scales and green spines fly above the town.

"Did anyone help us?" Celstia asked with an almost pleading tone.

"King Thorax and the Zebricans made a small state out of their territory completely built by refugees of Equestria. Fancy Pant, Fleur de Lis and your most loyal nobles created a council and run that state. The Kingdom of Ponyville is allied with these three in the hopes to one day fix things, but its been several hundred years after the Fall." Observer replied.

"What is next Observer. I've seen enough" Celestia said. He held her hoof and the world faded. In its place stood a destroyed Ponyville with ashes everywhere.

"This is the Oppression fate. You started to assert your authority in your paranoia. The age was filled with rampant authoritarianism." He said.

"Why is Ponyville burned?" She asked.

"Your fear of being dethroned caused you to...dispose of all threats to your rule. You massacred your fellow alicorns. The world was driven into a world war." He said. The sound of a snap and the two were in the Throne room. Celestia saw her double surrounded by a ring of flames. " The Solar Empire is known for enslavement, oppression and innate racism. This is what happens if you choose to just take all your power back." He said.

"So..the Death of Equestria is inevitable." She sad tears welling up.

"No. You see their is one final place you have yet to see. One that you should strive for." He held her hoof and the world vanished revealing a gleaming city. "Welcome to Ponyville." He said. Celestia was in awe. The city looked like Manehattan in many ways, but still had parts of its older days.

"What is this?" She asked. The observer smiled.

"This my dear, Is the Equilibrium. This fate is made should you choose. Development of technology, the restructuring of the Royal guard into a proper army and encouraged city growth all happened here." He said.

"What did I do?" She asked.

"Simple moderation my dear. You cannot rely on just one group of ponies to protect your country. The world will get violent and that is inevitable in all these fates. However, in this world, you put more faith in the common pony." He paused. "This is all because you allowed change and progress. Magic is a crutch to your development and so here you funded technological advancement. You gave the Pegasi and Earth ponies the ability to stand on par with magic. Earth pony medicine advancements and transport, Pegasi inventing means to increase the speed of communication, production and so much more. Do you see what I have shown you?" He finished.

"Yes I must learn to true delegation and not to depend on the Elements. The armies of Equestria must be fixed and these new technologies must be properly funded. If I do this, will this life happen?" She asked.

"Yes, but you must also do one more thing." He paused. "You must learn to moderate all things. To much advancement and you shall fall into bad times. Too little, you die. Too much oversight and no one will change. Too little involvement and you shall be seen as weak by everyone including your people. Also, you must learn to stop being soft." He stated the last word with emphasis.

"Soft?" Celestia repeated.

"Yes. Your innability to risk your people is a problem. If you continue to treat your people like foals, they will be unable to fend off threats. Look at Tirek, Chrysalis, Sombra, Nightmare Moon. In each instance the civilians coward waiting for you to save them. Your coddling will be their downfall Celestia I know because I saw It." The Observer said. "A true ruler strives for balance in society and themselves." He continued and they returned to the bed chambers that Celestia had started in.

"I see your point. I mustn't coddle my little ponies. I am a ruler not their mother, but I shall not leave them completely alone lest they lose faith in Myself and Luna." She said with determination.

"Good. I shall be watching and hope to see these things happen. I must go now." The observer said looking at his watch. He was about to leave when..

"Wait!" Celestia called. "Will I see you again?" she asked. The figure smiled and gave her a hug before standing back up.

"Actually you will. Just not anytime soon." He said giving a wink and then disappearing. Her chamber door opened to reveal Luna and a guard.

"Princess are you alright?" The stallion said.

"Yes I'm fine Scabbard."

"Tia we have news. We found a new race!" Luna said in joy.

"How?" Princess Celestia Asked.

"In my dream walking I saw a vision of a Minotaur like being that walked on two legs. I sent guards to try and find them and we found one." Luna said holding up a photo. Celestia took one look and her jaw dropped. It looked like a strapping creature with brown hair and she felt her heart skip slightly.

The Observer landed in his room with a big grin on his face. When he heard a knock at his door. Standing their was a very familiar alicorn and a well built man with brown hair.

"So how did it go?" The man asked.

"Gotta say it was strange seeing mom like that but fun." The Observer said.

"Well it is weird seeing it from this end to son" Celestia said.

"I'm just glad that I got to be the smarter one. Though I'm just glad that is the only time I have to do that." The Observer said

"Well without that self fulfilling loop you wouldn't be here son." The man said pulling his son off the bed.

"Yeah not getting over that anytime soon." The Observer replied.

"Come on you two lets go out it such a lovely day." Celestia said and the trio headed out to see the glorious day.
