Giving A Friend Something
Applejack was finishing the repairs on Sweet Apple Acres as it had been damaged by a tornado last night. It had come out of the blue since no one was expecting it.
Applejack had been working on her since that morning as she wanted to finish it before the day ended.
As she fixed it Twilight came up to her, Twilight watched Applejack work on her place. Soon Applejack finished and stepped off the ladder.
"What is it now Twilight?" Applejack said, Twilight noticed that Applejack's drawl was gone, this confused Twilight as Applejack never used the regular the tone that Equestria used as she always spoke with her accent.
Hearing this had just thrown Twilight into confusion. Twilight forgot why she had been there and wondered why Applejack would speak like a commoner from Ponyville. It was bizarre and it wasnt making any sense at all so she was going to make sense of it.
"Applejack what happened to your accent? You sound like the rest of my friends now." Twilight asked. Applejack knew that Twilight would point this out. There was no way of avoiding it.
"I guess that since I've lived here for so many years Ponyville made me progress to a point where I speak regularly. I noticed it a few years ago. The reason why you only just realized it is because my regular voice sounds clearer as I still had the accent you were used to hearing for a few years." Applejack said.
"Hearing you speak like that is very strange! It's going to take a while to get used to hearing you speak like that." Twilight said with a look of confusion on her face as she just couldn't get over the fact that Applelack didnt have her accent anymore.
"Well that's just how I speak now. Thats true. You certainly will have a difficult time gettingbused to it but I'm sure it wont take that long for you to get used to it. My other friends have said the same thing to me as well and I told them the same thing Im telling you. What did you need?" Applejack asked.
"Starlight wants a jar of honey." Twilight asked. Applejack shook her head.
"The bees are pissed off enough due to the storm and you want me to go to into the hive just so Starlight can do...what exactly? What is so important for you to send you to ask me for a jar of somethings she wont even use." Applejack asked. Twilight blushed and scratched the back of her head.
"Well....if you really want to know...Starlight met a girl she really wants to woo, the girl loves honey from what I heard so she needs you to get some for her." Twilight said.
Applejack couldnt believe what she was hearing, she really didnt like the request but knew that it was a potential customer.
"Gosh darnit! Why cant she just go to a store!? Theres stores everywhere she could go to one of those. Why would she need to come to me? Applejack exclaimed. Twilight shrugged.
"She said that the store's honey wouldnt be fresh." Twilight told her, Applejack sighed and then went out to the hive.
"Wait there Twilight! Ah will be right back." Applejack said suprising herself when her accent was heard in that response.
As she walked to the hive she wondered which female Starlight's crush was on as it could be any girl in Equestria, Applejack got their and decided to be quick with this. She smoked the hive and took a frame out.
She worked quickly to get all the bees safely off of it and make them get into the hive, she extracted the honey and gave it in a jar to Twilight.
"Tell her to send me the amount that it is displaced on the price tag.
"Thank you so much! I really appreciate it and so will Starlight. See you later." Twilight said.
"Wait!" Applejack called out, Twilight stopped and turned around.
"What is it?" Twilight asked her.
"When I last saw Mayor Mare I heard that shes retiring, were getting a new mayor but I dont know when. Does the rest of Ponyville know?" Applejack asked.
"Yes the town knows, you just didnt. Also I just have to tell you this to. When Rarity was on a walk a few days ago she encountered a bee and she literally freaked out and hurt it. Rainbow Dash told me about what happened." Twilight said.
"Damn she must have a huge fear of bees to react the way she did then." Applejack exclaimed.
"I think she does. Anyway I'll see you later." Twilight said.
"Bye." Applejack said.
"Bye Applejack." Twilight said. Twilight left Sweet Apple Acres with the jar as Applejack watched her leave. She hoped that Starlight would succeed in getting that girl to like her.
Applejack wondered who the girl was as Starlight hadnt told her about it. Applejack hoped that it it would work out for Starlight. Applejack went back into her house.
Later during that week Starlight sent an envelope with the payment for the honey. Applejack had been expecting it to come at any day so she was thrilled that it had come sooner than she was expecting it come to her.
Applejack collected the money and put the amount with the rest of the money that the apple family had gotten in exchange for their products.
A few weeks later Starlight came to Sweet Apple Acres and told her that everything was working out with her date but didnt really describe who it was due to wanting to keep it private.
Applejack told her that it was great for her to hear that and then she wished Starlight luck with the girl. Starlight then left. Hopefully Applejack could hear who the girl was in the near future as she was very curious now.
She tried to figure out whi she was dating and then she realised that she could ask Starlight about it later so she dropped the issue and went off to do something else.
