Spike
The gallant Sir Spike rode along storm-lashed roads, down crumbling cliffs, up a winding hill, all towards the mighty and expansive castle standing proud atop a spire of rock. He lifted the visor of his armour for a moment as he reached the drawbridge, checking to see that no foul cur waited to ambush him, then rode triumphantly across the bridge.
“My lady Rarity!” he called. “It is I, to save you from… from the peril!”
Recovering after his momentary lapse, he urged his pony – a rather put-upon-looking blue unicorn – around the last corner, and into the tower where his goal was waiting.
Then he blinked.
“Um...”
“At last!” the diamond-marked unicorn said, turning her eyes on him. “My rescuer!”
“I… sorry, this isn't what I was expecting,” Sir Spike confessed, as his noble steed decided she'd had enough of this and left to found a travelling magic show. “I came to save the noble lady Rarity.”
“But I am the noble lady Rarity,” replied the black-coated, cat-eyed unicorn. “Nightmare Rarity, perhaps, but that still includes Rarity.”
Spike wanted to point out that, no, the two were entirely different, but the words died on his lips as he looked into her eyes.
They were oddly beautiful, limpid pools, and the cat-eye slit seemed to expand and draw his attention in...
Spike shook his head, his mind having gone fuzzy for a moment. What was he thinking about, again?
Oh, right! Rarity!
He looked up at the magnificent mare in front of her, puffing out his chest in his shiny armor rather proudly. “Well, Rarity, you needn’t worry any longer! For I am here to save you from… uh…” He paused, looking a little sheepish as he scratched at the ground with one of his feet. “What was I supposed to be saving you from again?” he whispered, leaning up to Nightmarity’s ear.
The mare simply giggled, which made Spike relax a little bit. At least his foolishness wasn’t making his damsel in distress think less of him. Spike’s eyes followed Nightmarity’s hoof as it pointed towards a rather overstuffed looking Ursa. Spike lowered his helmet’s visor, brandishing a dull lance before shouting at the creature. “Foul beast! You shall hold this fair maiden captive no longer!”
The bear gave a half-hearted growl, pawing at the dirt out of boredom.
Spike began to charge, lowering the lance. It poked into the bear’s side, and if Spike had looked closely, he might have seen the strain of seams as the bear let out another annoyed sounding growl. It picked itself up and began to lumber off, leaving Spike to make a victorious pose.
“How wonderfully brave of you,” Nightmarity told him, smiling, and Spike beamed.
“Anything for my damsel,” he pronounced, flourishing his lance around – not really noticing that by now it had taken on a distinctly… foam quality. “Nothing is too great a challenge for Sir Spike!”
“Oh, I'm so glad to hear that,” Nightmarity smiled. Spike noticed that this smile seemed to have a lot of teeth, and perhaps be more of a smirk, but he shrugged it off as unimportant. “Though I'm afraid I have a few other things for you to do which might be a little less noble.”
“Don't worry,” Spike assured her. “Knights have to be chivalrous as well.”
“I see,” Nightmarity said gravely. “In that case, I'm afraid I'd like you to brush my hair.”
Her hoof indicated a dresser, at the other end of the enormous room. “I left my brush over there, I think.”
As Spike began to clank off, Nightmarity coughed.
“And Spike?” she added, her voice honeyed and alluring. “The armour's dreadfully noisy. Would you mind taking it off for now?”
Spike did so, unstrapping the breastplate and the greaves and all the other bits, then began automatically putting on the outfit Nightmarity had floated over to him to replace it.
It was quite a spiffy outfit, a deep sapphire suit, embedded with a few gemstones at the cuffs and buttons. Spike couldn’t help but marvel at it as he slid it on, forcing himself to resist gnawing at the tasty looking cufflinks. The jacket fit wonderfully snug, Spike not really thinking how Rarity got such exact measurements (it had been a while since she’d measured him for his gala outfit, hadn’t it?). He pushed the thought out of his mind, figuring it wasn’t worth thinking about such a silly little thing. Wandering over to the vanity, Spike was forced to hop up onto a couple books to reach the silver brush waiting for him. He was soon sauntering back to Nightmarity, however, who was now laying comfortably on her bed, sinking into the thick covers slightly as she leaned up against the puffy pillows.
Spike hoisted himself up beside her, his hind legs kicking in the air for a moment before he managed to flop down beside her. Taking the comb in his claw, Spike began to daintily brush Nightmarity’s starry mane. As he did, he found himself staring into the expanse, watching the stars twinkle in her mane. It was such a beautiful sight, he really should commend Rarity on her new look.
As he was about to, though, he found the words catching in his throat. Wait a minute… Rarity didn’t have starry mane, as beautiful as that- no! It wasn’t pretty! This wasn’t Rarity, what was he doing?
Nightmarity noticed Spike stopping his brushing, turning her head to gaze at him. “Something the matter, Spikey?” She asked, her eyes shimmering in the soft light.
“Umm...” Spike began, intelligently, then he stopped talking – finding it hard to come up with the words.
Rarity's eyes were so beautiful, and he couldn't look away… and, after staring for several seconds into the glow, he shook his head. “N-no, there isn't...”
“That's good to hear,” the unicorn said, turning her head a little to invite Spike to keep brushing.
The sparkles danced in her hair, and Spike sort of lost track of time. It seemed as though every time he brought the brush down, the glittery light moved in waves, and each stroke was more pleasant than the last for both him and Nightmarity.
After an indistinct amount of time, Spike slowed – having finally arranged his lady's hair to perfection.
“Excellent,” Nightmarity declared. “Oh, but now I feel hungry… do get me a snack, please, Spike.”
Spike nodded, jumping down from the cushions, and as he landed there was an odd crinkly sound.
“What was that?” he asked, looking around, and realized it appeared to be coming from his behind. “H-huh?”
“Is something wrong?” the unicorn inquired.
“Well, um… this?” Spike suggested, poking a claw into the bulk of his outfit's behind and producing another crinkle.
“Dear me, Spike, don't you remember?” Nightmarity asked, her eyes glittering again. “That's so you don't need to stop being my knight and servant.”
Spike was going to protest about how that made no sense, how whatever this puffy, crinkly thing was, it was doubtful he would ever need it as a knight or servant, but his complaints seemed to melt away as he looked back up at Nightmarity. Her cool smile seemed so reassuring, she wouldn’t ever do something to trick him, and she’d been right on a lot of things before. Spike found himself smiling back, tugging on his coat to keep it snug as he nodded. Of course, Nightmarity knew what she was talking about, and he certainly didn’t want to stop being her wonderfully helpful assistant!
Spike began to waddle towards a small shelf beside Nightmarity’s closet where a number of treats seemed to lay, waiting. He picked up a box of chocolates, as well as a clawful of gems for himself before happily heading back to Nightmarity. He placed the chocolates before her, gulping down a few of the gems as she began to eat, and she chuckled. “Now, don’t go and spoil your appetite! There’s still dinner to be had later.”
Nightmarity gulped down a big bit of fudge, and Spike could’ve sworn he saw her belly stretch the tiniest big bigger. He shook his head, he was imagining things, Nightmarity wouldn’t ever ruin her wonderful physique! Though as his mind wandered to imagining her with a bit more pudge, Spike couldn’t help but blush as he imagined having more of Nightmarity to squeeze…
He gobbled up a few more of his gems, leaning back into Nightmarity, only half noticing the puff in his suit seemed a bit bigger than before. It didn’t bother him, though, it just gave him an even comfier seat as he snacked away.
All too soon, both Spike and Nightmarity were finished with their snack. Spike lay back, sighing in pleasure, and patted his belly – not quite sure how much of the plumpness there was his outfit, and how much was all the gems he'd eaten.
“Oh, Spike~?” Nightmarity asked. “I was wondering… I've got a few new designs, and I wonder if you'd like to try them on for me?”
Spike hesitated, and Nightmarity asked again. “Please? Do it for me?”
That was something Spike could never say no to. “Of course,” he agreed.
Nightmarity's horn glowed, and she summoned a collection of outfits – a few of them obviously big puffy pink dresses, but there were all kinds represented. Plaid all-over onesies, spiral-themed maid outfits, what looked a lot like a mascot costume that would make him a giant walking gem…
After some consideration, Spike pointed at one of the accessories off to the side – a dark blue jacket, with crushed gems sprinkled over it and a jeweled set of buttons going from red at the bottom to blue at the top.
“Ah, the butler jacket,” Nightmarity announced, sending the rest of the outfits away with a poof of smoke. “Do try it on.”
Spike did so, shrugging it on over his existing outfit, and examined himself in the mirror. (Had there been a mirror before? It didn't seem important.)
The overall effect was very smart, though Spike sort of vaguely noticed that his puffy, crinkly rump did seem to be a lot larger than it had been before…
He poked at his rear with a claw, a crinkle filling the room once more as he did. What was this thing? He was sure he should know what was causing his rump to be so thick, to spread his legs so widely, but for the life of him he just couldn’t seem to come to the right idea. He was about to try undoing some of the buttons on his outfit to take a look, only for Nightmarity to call for him again. “Oh, Spike, you look absolutely spiffing! It really does fit you quite well.” Spike blushed at this, looking away from Nightmarity and drawing a small circle on the floor with one of his foot claws.
“Awhehehe, geez…”
“Oh, would you be a dear and fetch me some champagne? I’m sure there’s more than enough in the cellar.” Spike looked a little glum, he hated to be sent away from his darling Nightmarity, but he was a butler, after all. Besides, it couldn’t take that long to find it, could it?” He gave Nightmarity a short bow before waddling out into the hallways in search of the wine cellar.
Despite the odd layout of the castle, Spike had the vaguest of feelings like he knew where he was going… left at the fountain, down the spiral staircase to the gallery (he took a quick peek in, marvelling at the paintings of Nightmarity in all manner of distinctly poofy outifts), past the kitchen…
He was standing at the top of a long wooden stairway into the basement, the wood creaking with every step. It didn’t help he needed to lift his hind legs quite a ways to waddle around in his puffy suit, though the glimmer of light off of the gemstones did help illuminate the room somewhat.
A little uncertainly, Spike waddled down the stairs. He had a moment of uncertainty over whether it was really knightly to waddle, but remembered that Nightmarity had asked him to get her the drink and anyway he was a butler, not a knight.
Shaking his head over his silliness, Spike descended the steps to the bottom, and there he found rack upon rack of bottles. Some of them had very strange labels, such as one describing it as 'vintage puffberry', but after a little careful work he located the champagne aisle.
A bit more detective work revealed that the older bottles were near the bottom, and since older meant higher quality – only the best for Nightmarity! - he leaned over, his crinkly butt pushing into the shelf facing the one he was looking at. It rocked back alarmingly, without his noticing, as he selected a bottle of champagne – then, just as he lifted it to put on the side, the rack rocked back the other way.
There was a jangle of bottles, making Spike jump and look around, and a hollow pop! As the tap broke off one of the wine barrels.
“Oh, no!” Spike gasped. Nightmarity would be so upset if he got her floor dirty!
He tried to hold the tap shut with his clawed hands, but the liquid spilled out and onto his suit – being absorbed almost instantly, and making it swell up as a heady smell filled the air.
Spike’s head swam slightly as he breathed in the scent of the wine, his legs spread a bit wider by his growing suit. Frantically, Spike turned around and shoved the point of his tail into the hole, trying to spot something to plug the barrel back up. He spotted a cork that had rolled off a different shelf just a few feet away, and Spike waddled soggily towards it… only to be caught a moment later as his tail stretched as far as it could. Spike looked over his shoulder at his tail, grumbling a bit. He leaned forward, trying to reach the cork. He swiped at the air, but no matter how he clawed, the cork was barely an inch out of his reach. He turned back around, wrapping his claws around his tail and yanking. Without thinking, his tail came loose with an audible pop!, and wine sprayed forward, sending him tumbling backwards.
Spike bounced on his squishy rear, claws scrabbling at the floor in search of the cork as wine pooled around the floor, only to be soaked up a moment later by his suit. What was worse, he seemed to be sitting at the bottom of a drain basin, all the wine flowing towards him as his suit swelled up. Spike whimpered, pressing a claw between his legs as the poofy thing under his suit grew bigger. Oh, Nightmarity was going to be soooo mad! He wiggled in place, trying to rock forward and plug the cork back in, but his suit just squished and sloshed.
The sound of wine trickling out began to quiet, Spike left with an unfortunately swollen rear pressing snugly into his knees and pushing his tail up cutely to reveal his sodden rump. Blushing, Spike pressed the cork into the barrel, despite it having already been emptied, before going to retrieve the wine Nightmarity had requested.
Now much bulkier, Spike had a little trouble with how to carry the bottle upstairs. He was vaguely aware that just providing the bottle would be terribly uncultured, and he didn't want to disappoint Nightmarity, but how could he – aha!
Moving with care, or as much as he could with the effects of the wine fumes making him a little dizzy, Spike uncorked the bottle. The cork flew out along with a stream of champagne, making Spike yelp, but he managed to catch quite a lot of it in a glass before rather sheepishly replacing the cork.
Putting glass and bottle on a tray, Spike began to waddle back upstairs as best he could. Each step produced a squish and a little extra breath of the wine scent, and Spike gradually developed a silly smile as he moved.
“Ah, there you are,” Nightmarity said as Spike reentered the room. “You took quite a long time...”
“S-sorry!” Spike blushed, trying futilely to conceal the swollen state of his suit.
He waddled over to the bedside table, placing the tray upon it gently and stepping back with a little bow. Nightmarity sipped at the wine, giving a small hum of satisfaction before levitating the glass back onto the tray. Spike was busy trying his best to look presentable, but his rather soggy state and giggly demeanor betrayed him. He was busy poking and prodding at his puffy suit, giving special attention to his rear as the intoxicating sweet smelling fumes floating up with every press. Nightmarity smirked, watching as Spike toyed with his suit. “Having fun?” She eventually asked.
Spike startled, immediately standing at attention with his hands at his sides, his outfit giving a loud squish-crinkle as his legs snapped together. “N-no, ma’am! Or, uh, y-yes? Or… I… sorry.” Spike’s face turned a red to rival that of the gemstone buttons, Nightmarity simply laughing as she stared down at the little dragon.
“I was hoping you’d say you were! I made that suit especially for you, and you looks so cute in it. It’s wonderful to see you enjoying the diaper too.” She winked.
Spike’s eyes went wide as realization dawned upon him. A diaper? That’s what he was wearing? His face turned an even brighter red as he pressed his claws into the bloated rear, feeling the curve of the diaper beneath his suit.
“Why is there a diaper?” Spike asked, unable to put enough force into it to really make it a demand.
“Don't you remember?” Nightmarity asked beguilingly. “It's so you can stay being my loyal servant, without needing to take a break for much longer!”
She hummed. “Speaking of which, I think I would like to take a meal now. Do go to the kitchen and arrange it for me.”
Spike was about to object, saying the diaper issue hadn't been sorted out – that is, over his cherry-red blush – but Nightmarity forestalled him by providing him with a nice frilly pink-and-black apron for him to wear. “There, that should solve any of your problems,” she said. “And don't take too long. You don't want me to go hungry, do you?”
“Of course not!” Spike replied, taking the apron and putting it on, then waddling determinedly back past the fountain and the spiral stairs on his way to the kitchen.
When he looked in on the gallery on the way past this time, he did notice a few pictures of some dragon or other showing up. A few of them looked familiar, but others were vague and indistinct – such as one of a great big plaid dragon which looked oddly soft, or a dragon appearing to wear a suit of another, larger, dragon.
Shaking his head in confusion, Spike went on to start preparing a meal for Nightmarity.
The kitchen was unfortunately, but not surprisingly, designed for a pony of Nightmarity’s stature. The counter tops were all a good foot above Spike’s head, and he could only just reach the drawers beneath them. Looking around, he was thankfully able to spot a stool to hoist himself on top of to view the kitchen with. Somepony seemed to have already taken the liberty of placing ingredients out for him (who that pony was never crossed Spike’s mind), and had left a cookbook opened helpfully to a page detailing the procedure to make a veritable banquet. Spike quickly got to work mixing in ingredients for a cake, maxing extra doubly sure everything was added properly so he wouldn’t disappoint Nightmarity.
He was forced to waddle back and forth, carrying the rather hefty bowl of batter over to a mixer, doing his best to keep Rarity’s fancy apron for him spick and span as he poured the mix into a cake tin. He hopped down from the counter, pulling open the oven as he balanced the tin precariously on his tail before pushing it in. Bouncing back up, he had just enough air time to switch the oven on before landing. He twisted a small timer and stuffed in into the front pocket of his apron, putting his claws on his hips proudly. That should do it! Though that was only the food done, Nightmarity would surely be expecting a proper atmosphere for her dinner too! Spike hurried over to the dining room, trying to think of the best way to set the mood for his princess.
The first step was obvious, laying out a cloth on the table, but after that Spike found himself taking cues from the things he had to work with around the dining room. He laid out all the different types of cutlery he could find, put a big pile of napkins where Nightmarity might need to use them, set out a name plate, poured a carafe of water in case she wanted a different drink, and made sure the chair had cushions ready to hoof if she needed them.
After all of that was done, however, Spike found the final crucial element to the presentation – a set of half-a-dozen fine candles in two holders.
Puffing up his chest proudly, Spike let loose a mighty jet of flame to light the candles… or, at least, that's what he tried. In fact he just produced a tiny little flicker, which made him blush at the failure.
Trying again, Spike managed a slightly larger flame jet, but it wasn't enough to light any of the candles.
After a bit of thought, Spike realized the mistake – of course, he just wasn't putting enough air into the fire breath! So he inhaled more, and breathed out a bigger and louder jet – which did make one of the candles catch fire, but only for a moment.
Again, and he did slightly better, but the candle didn't quite catch.
By now Spike was inhaling a lot of air, and it was making him swell up quite a lot each time he took his breath. Still, he kept trying harder, wanting to make sure things were all ready for Nightmarity's dinner.
Spike took a huff, his belly stretching out underneath his suit and pushing the bright pink apron up his bloating form as he leaned back onto his tail as he kicked his legs and pressed his claws into his ballooning gut. With a fwoosh!, he threw his head forward, letting out a fireball that engulfed the entire candelabra. The moment the fire died down, Spike was left with a few faintly flickering candles and a holder that looked none the worse for wear.
As if on cue, the timer in his pocket went off, sending a rather pleasant tingling sensation throughout Spike’s body as it shook. Reaching in, Spike flicked it off before walking back to the kitchen to retrieve the cake. It was absurdly large, even for a princess as big as Nightmarity, this was quite a cake! Spike felt even the tin was wider around than when he had put it in. Pulling the cake free, Spike was about to decorate it, only to realize it already was. How silly of him, he completely forgot he already did that!
Placing the cake on the table, Spike hurriedly waddled over to a string on the wall that ran up and through a small crevice in the direction of Nightmarity’s suite. He gave it a soft jingle to indicate dinner was ready before taking his place beside the table, bottle of wine at the ready.
Nightmarity stepped into the dining room, giving a small gasp as she looked upon the marvelous sight before her. “Oh, Spike, this is simply marvelous! But, oh dear, you’re not dressed for dinner! Come now, let’s get you out of that apron and into something proper.”
“S-something proper?” Spike asked, entertaining the idea of being properly dressed. “Like… a proper suit, or something?”
“Of course!” Nightmarity agreed with a smile. “Hold still, now!”
Her horn flared up, and much of Spike's outfit floated away – his jacket, his apron, in fact everything except for his diaper.
“But, um… what about the diaper?” Spike asked.
“Don't worry, it'll be taken care of,” Nightmarity soothed him, a tape measure flicking out in her telekinetic grasp to measure Spike's belly. “Hmm, that's grown larger… better allow for more growth in the future...”
Her matter-of-fact words made Spike blush, especially as she also measured his diaper – then she brought out a thicker one, this one a light eggshell pink, and taped it on over the diaper he was already wearing.
“Hey!” Spike whined, fidgeting.
“Now, now, Spike,” Nightmarity said. “You don't want to inconvenience me, do you?”
“Well… no,” Spike replied, subsiding, and Nightmarity finished taping the diaper on snugly before measuring him again.
Then she brought out his suit, and Spike's jaw dropped.
It wasn't the kind of suit he'd been thinking of at all. Instead of something elegant and refined, it was a giant purple and orange dragon costume – the belly and the base of the tail formed of horizontal pieces of orange material, while the back, arms and legs were all purple. The head had a pair of horns, and the back had a plushy ridge of spines down it to hide the zipper along with a pair of little orange wings.
It looked like a couple of the orange plates near his rump could be unbuttoned, revealing the seat of his diaper – an idea which made the dragon blush all the more deeply, but any protest he wanted to raise came too late.
Nightmarity picked him up effortlessly, placing him in the suit's main open cavity, then gave him terse instructions. “Arms in the sleeves… tail in the tail sleeve… wings in there… and your legs in the suit legs, that's right.”
The costume zipped up behind his back, and Spike discovered that the costume was very plumply puffed up – in particular, it had inbuilt poof between his legs making it even harder to move promptly without ending up in a waddle
If he'd been able to see himself from the outside, he knew, there would be a hint of his pink diaper through the gaps around the edges of the changing hatch.
Spike blushed brightly as he was seated across from Nightmarity, his diaper crinkling softly through the plush suit. “I-is this rreeaaally necessary? Y-your butler outfit was pretty elegant…” He mumbed, pulling at the plump belly of the suit, what little he could properly reach. Nightmarity simply nodded, her magic working to slice the cake and place a piece upon Spike’s plate.
“You flatter me, Spike, but I say this is an even better suit, wouldn’t you say?” She asked, and Spike was sure her eyes had flashed for the tiniest moment. “Besides, I’ve always dreamed of having an adorable plump purple dragon over for dinner.”
Spike was going to complain that he was already purple and (a little unwillingly) plump, but he was too distracted as the scent of the cake hit him. It was absolutely delicious! A rich blend of chocolates and a few pieces of fruit and gems. Spike could hardly believe he had cooked it himself! Forgoing his manners, he didn’t even bother to wait for Nightmarity to take her own slice before he began to stab the cake with his fork, eagerly stuffing the damp cake into his mouth. Letting out a soft sigh of contentment, Spike slumped in his seat a little, relaxing into the plushness of his suit as he savored the taste. If he was going to get treats this good, he was willing to put up with a little embarrassment.
A small part of Spike thought that this really wasn’t that embarrassing, though. He was awfully comfy and cozy, and he did look very cute in his plush suit now that he thought about it. Nightmarity was beginning to eat her own slice, which, had Spike been paying attention, was not nearly as thick as his, and she ate rather slowly. Her eyes were instead fixated on the belly of the dragon in front of her, a grin spreading across her face as she watched the suit’s fabric stretch outwards, his diaper seeming to grow with him to cradle his rump as he shoveled more sweets into himself.
As he ate, Spike's thoughts were caught between three ideas.
The first idea, the one he thought he'd started with, was that this was all very embarrassing and he should muster up the courage to make his excuses about it all. That it was nice having dinner with Nightmarity, especially when the food was this good, but that it wasn't worth this.
The second idea, which was much more insistent, was that of course it was worth it to spend time with Nightmarity! It was an idea which was reinforced every time he looked up at her, caught the glint in her eye, and felt all fuzzy about being able to eat with her even when he'd been the one to make the dinner.
And the third idea, the one which he simply couldn't ignore at all, was that there was no reason to consider whether it was 'worth it' because it was good just to be able to enjoy this! It was such a tasty cake, it was a comfy suit and it didn't really look all that different from him, and the apple juice which Nightmarity slid over to him to drink was lovely and tangy as well!
“Isn't that cake nice?” Nightmarity asked.
“Mm-mm!” Spike agreed happily, seeing no reason to argue, and his belly plumped out a little more as he ate another great big forkful of cake. He took a long drink of apple juice, not really questioning why there still seemed to be so much cake on his plate or why his glass was still mostly full even though he'd drunk so much juice, and crunched down on a particularly fine diamond.
Spike pat his belly, the back of his mind noticing that he didn’t need to reach as far to do that as he had when he started the meal. It was probably just the thickness of the suit, that’s all! He giggled, wiggling in his chair, which seemed a bit taller than before too. It wasn’t something he bothered dwelling on, though, since the cake and drink was so good. As he greedily guzzled up more juice, he couldn’t help but notice a growing pressure between his legs, however. He grimaced a little, squeezing his legs together and making his diaper crinkle again.
“Something wrong, Spikey? I hope your treats aren’t too sweet for you!” Nightmarity chuckled, leaning forward on the table a little. Spike shook his head, biting into another gem as the pressure built a little more. His face, already red, was darkening yet again as his mind drifted to that pressure. Oh goodness, he couldn’t! Not in front of Nightmarity! What would she say? He whined, kicking his legs a little as he looked down at the swollen rear of his suit.
“N-no, everything’s fine… I, uh… I just need…” his voice trailed off, thoroughly embarrassed by what he wanted to ask. As he looked back to Nightmarity, though, his worries seemed to melt away. Why did he think she would care so much? He was just a little hatchling, it’s what they did, isn’t it? Besides, with how cozy his suit was already, wouldn’t it be even better if it was warm and plump? Nightmarity does seem to love warm, plump things…
Spike let out a sigh as he wet his padding, feeling it start to swell between his legs, pushing up against the flap on his rump as the buttons strained to hold in his growing pomf, tail flicking left and right happily all the while.
Spike reached for another drink, and popped the bottle into his mouth. He suckled on it, the warm, tasty milk flowing down his throat, but then he frowned – confused.
Didn't he have apple juice?
Swallowing, he looked up at Nightmarity to see if she could help answer his question. He began to voice it, but a moment later his concerns melted away. “Um… sorry, never mind.”
“Is something wrong~?” Nightmarity asked. “Is your milk not warm enough?”
Spike puzzled over that, and took another sip. Finding it as warm as he wanted, he put it back down on the tray in front of him.
Where the tray came from didn't seem important at all, not one bit. His chair did seem higher up than before, but he shrugged it off with a crinkle and a squish to start having some more cake with his big plastic spoon.
“Do you need help?” Nightmarity asked him, after another minute or two.
With a blush, Spike realized he was eating a little bit messily. The plump paws of his suit were making it a bit hard to control where his spoon went, and he put the spoon down with a shake of his head. “N-no, I'm fine.”
Taking another drink, and another, he resolved to stick to the bottle of milk to avoid looking too foalish. Hatchie-ish?
He suckled on the bottle, wrapping the plush claws of the suit around it to make sure he had a good grip on it. He wiggled around a little, feeling the thick suit tail press against the backrest of the chair. He sighed softly, loving the extra cushion it gave him. The rump of his suit pressed between the backrest and the seat of his highchair, bulging through as Spike drank away. The pressure was starting to grow in his padding again, but this time Spike didn’t bother to resist, instead simply letting his diaper grow wet and warm. With a soft fwwwsshh, his padding swelled even thicker, the buttons straining, straining, straaiiining before…
Pop!
The buttons on the butt of his suit opened up, the flap falling down to reveal his thick pink diaper as it ballooned slowly bigger. It squished and crinkled as he rocked back and forth happily, sighing into the bottle as he continued to drink. How much had he drank? It had to have been quite a lot. He finally removed the bulb from his muzzle, letting out a soft belch with a burst of flame as he finished off the milk.
Nightmarity looked very pleased, standing up and walking over to Spike. “All full?” She asked. Spike nodded slowly, trying to push himself out of the chair, only to realize his suit and diaper had grown so thick he couldn’t squeeze past the tray.
“Mmm, I hope you’re not too full, I was hoping I could be serenaded by my lovely dragon servant.”
“Serenaded?” Spike repeated. “But… well, I guess I can sing, but… mff...”
He squirmed, trying to get out of his high chair, but to no avail. “Um… can you help me down?”
Nightmarity smirked, and undid the latches to take the tray off. Spike fell out of his chair as the tray was catapulted off by his springy belly, landing on his wet diaper with a squish, and blushed all over again.
“Now, of course, you can't serenade me without an instrument,” Nightmarity went on, as Spike struggled to get up – falling over once or twice before managing to get more or less upright. “So we need to get you sorted out with one…”
“Well, I do know how to play-” Spike began, but Nightmarity overrode him.
“Of course, you'll want to use my special new instrumental clothing!” she said, producing one with a flourish. It looked like nothing more nor less than a large, plaid-patterned diaper – sized for Spike in the suit he was currently wearing.
“Is that really an instrument?” he asked.
“Of course it is!” Nightmarity told him. “I'm a fashion genius, after all, so I can make anything fashionable!”
Spike didn't want to say something about how fashionable a big diaper might or might not be, but after looking uncertainly at the plaid diaper for a long moment he turned to Nightmarity to apologize.
“I made it especially for you,” Nightmarity told him. “You'll look and sound wonderful!”
Spike's objections vanished, so fast he couldn't really remember what they'd been in the first place.
He eagerly waddled over to Nightmarity to take the padding, only to realize his clumsy claws could do little to handle the diaper. Nightmarity smirked a little, patting Spike on the head lightly as she laid out the diaper, which seemed to wheeze ever so slightly as she did. Spike planted his puffy rump down, blushing and kicking his legs a little as Nightmarity folded the padding up around his flanks, slipping Spike’s tail through the appropriate hole. She pulled him up to a sitting position, Spike’s legs only just barely able to reach the ground around his plaid padding. Spike looked over his shoulder, shaking his rear left and right as he examined it. “Uh… so… how does this work?”
Nightmarity simply pushed against Spike’s suited chest lightly, forcing him to stumble back, wobbling on one foot for a moment before falling onto his rear with a long paaarp! Spike’s eyes went wide as he blushed even brighter, looking down at the padding. Spike bounced a bit in place, making the diaper parp again, and the little dragon to have a wobbly smile spread across his face. Spike continued to bounce, quickly building a steady rhythm of parps as he squeezed down on the front of his padding. It wheezed out a soft note, Spike giggling as the diaper seemed to grow a bit puffier, the music growing louder as he played.
As Spike played, Nightmarity curled up on a couch she had conjured up, laying down on the thick cushions as Spike continued to play.

Spike played on, rocking left and right on his padded rear as the plaid padding stretched larger, the pattern changing slightly to blend with Spike’s colors, making it slightly harder to tell the diaper apart from the player…
Parp, parp, paaarp!
Spike's shifting became full up-and-down bouncing, his tail thumping on the diaper to provoke extra notes, and as he got the hang of producing the rasping notes he began to add more and more interesting flourishes and nuance to the music he was playing.
It swelled in his mind, as other things became less important and playing the best music he could became more and more important, and as it swelled the same thing happened to the plaid diaper he was bouncing on top of – swelling, taking on a purple-and-green-and-orange pattern of plaid, as it expanded around his tail and down his legs and up his big, bulgy belly.
At some point Nightmarity moved a mirror into place, so Spike could see himself bouncing, and the sight startled him – but only for a moment, before he landed and played the next note and the parps enraptured him all over again with the driving need to give Nightmarity the best musical performance he possibly could.
Tubes began to form at his tail and along his back as the plaid advanced, lending whole new nuance to the notes, and an ascending scale of parp parp parp joined his repertoire – longer every time a new tube joined his spine, becoming parp parp parp parp and then parp parp parp parp parp...
Up and down and up and down, Spike bounced enthusiastically, his hands reaching around to rub and press against the cushion of air around his rump, feeling it stretch and swell and push its way outwards ever bigger. Parp, parp, parp, pipe spines poked out of his back, tootling away happily along with his tail, Spike burying his face into his puffy belly as it pushed up into his chin. Soon even his claws had been covered by even more plush mittens to match the rest of the bagpipe theme of his suit. A hood folded up over his head, swelling up just enough to muffle everything but the sound of his music pulsing through him. Spike was soon bouncing so energetically it was only a matter of time before the curve of his diaper sent him reeling backwards, flopping onto his tail and ending with a final climactic Paaaaaarp!
Spike’s eyes spun as he recovered from his finale, his mind all dopey and giggly. With another soft wheeze, Spike was shaken from his stupor to see Nightmarity flopping down on top of his puffy suit. She stared down at him, grinning widely as she gave the occasional squeeze. “Ah, my dear, that was truly magnificent!” Spike couldn’t help but blush at the compliment, squeezing his legs together as Nightmarity pat his gut.
“Well, I suppose that’s enough fun for now…” She said, pushing herself up off of him and walking away. Spike whined as he tried to push himself back to a sitting position, not wanting Nightmarity to leave so soon. “You’ve still got a lot of work to do, Spikey! These costumes and diapers aren’t going to wash themselves!”
Spike whined a bit more, then reluctantly groaned and shook his head.
He began doing his best to stand up, pulling in his legs – producing a sustained paaaaaaaaarp as he did – and then slowly and hesitantly pushing himself up to a proper height.
Spike nearly fell over backwards, and had to put his tail right down hard on the floor to prevent it. The push needed was beyond what he could have managed without the layered suits on top of him, but together they gave his tail enough bulk to resist the collapse. That didn't mean he was stable, however, and he held out both arms for stability as he waddled his way towards the sink – every step producing a chorus of creaks and squeaks and parps from his musical costume.
It took less time than he'd expected to actually reach the sink, which was piled high with costumes and diapers – most of them cloth, but some of them looking like disposables – and which had a bottle of washing liquid just next to the tap.
Starting the tap going, Spike picked the top item off the pile and began washing it. It was a griffin costume, which he didn't remember ever seeing worn, but that didn't seem important – though what did catch his attention was that water was going everywhere as he scrubbed away busily at the sleeper.
Spike dunked the suit in the rising water of the sink, his own suit catching some of the water that splashed out as he did. Lifting it up, he gave it a look over. It looked just about as clean as it did when he had picked it up, but considering it was spotless when he had begun, he figured it was good enough. Folding the suit up, he tossed it over to a pile near a dryer before getting to work on some of the diapers.
Just like the suit, they look like they had simply been dropped off for cleaning the moment they had finished being made. Spike, while a little confused, wasn’t complaining as he began to wash the cloth diaper. Once he had dipped it in the water, it swelled up slightly, drinking up the water as he continued to scrub it. Even with how clean it was, though, Spike realized he probably should be using the soap provided. Picking up the bottle, he sprayed a stream into the basin, and soon bubbles were frothing about as he continued his cleaning. He playfully batted a few away as they bounced off his muzzle while he hoisted the rather soggy diaper out of the sink and proceeded to the next article of clothing. The suit was much thicker than the gryphon one, and seemed to resemble a sea serpent. Spike tried to spot holes for his legs while washing, but no matter how hard he looked, there were only enough for one’s head and arms in the suit.
The bubbles were starting to grow larger, Spike needing to push more and more out of his way as he continued scrubbing. He leaned a bit too far forward and the neck of his costume hit the sink’s tap. A gush of water flew into him, sending him sprawling back as his suit sloshed from the extra fluid. He stuck his arms out as the suit swelled and grew heavier, threatening to knock him off of his feet from the extra sloshy bounce in his bottom.
Spike reached forwards, trying to close the tap, but that didn't really work – he did reach the tap, but he actually knocked it a little more open, and it also meant that the soap spilled into the sink to produce more and more bubbles.
The failure led him to overbalance, and he slipped back onto his rump with a loud and slightly squeaky paaaaarp! Then he tried to use the edge of the sink to haul himself back upright, but one side effect of that was the arm of his suit acting like a sponge to draw more and more water into his suit and puff it up.
Water trickled out of the pipes on the back and tail of the suit, and Spike blushed before managing to pull himself to his feet. Water was still flowing into the sink, but when his second attempt to shut off the tap just made the water flow increase further – producing a waterfall which spilled out of the sink onto the floor – he decided to just keep going and ignore the flood.
Blushing, he scrubbed the serpent suit, then put it to one side and took the next one. This one was some sort of pudgy wingless dragon, a bit like him, but pink and purple instead of just purple and with a pair of antennae on the head and a tail that curled up at the back.
It seemed a bit sticky, which he tried to ignore as he did his best to wash it.
Spike’s suit, despite him trying to move as little as possible, continued to slosh left and right, giving the appearance that he was swaying his rump about. Blushing brightly, Spike tried to push the thought out of his head while he cleaned the suit, though the gummy sensation never seemed to leave it no matter how he scrubbed. Spike grunted from the frustration, pushing bubbles now almost the size of his suit’s rear aside as he simply let the suit fall into the deep basin to soak for a while longer. Spike leeeaaaned over, almost slipping once again to grab a stack full of crinkly diapers and dumping them into the sink. Immediately, they began to swell, each practically guzzling up the water as they ballooned into soaked balls of fluff.
Spike ignored this, continuing his work as best as he could, though he was soon fishing about blindly through a veritable ocean of crinkly diapers in an attempt to grab one to clean. They bulged over the top of the sink, water flowing right over them and onto the floor, where Spike’s own suit began to slosh and swish across the waterfall, soaking up more and more water. He gave a soft “oof” as he waddled over for more suits to clean, hoisting one leg high up into the air in an attempt to waddle around in such a heavy, sodden, swollen suit. As his foot came down, however, it landed on top of a bubble, and with timing not even a clown could have perfected, Spike’s foot slipped out from under him, his claws went flailing wildly, and his rump came crashing down with a drawn out paaaarp!
To make matters worse, as Spike’s suit deflated ever so slightly, more bubbles blew out of the pipes, starting to fill the room and join together into sudsy monstrosities. Spike pushed one aside, only for the bubble to rebound and shove him into another. He grumbled, trying to return to the sink, where one of the impossibly overswollen diapers had flopped to the floor, providing a safe, if damp, cushion for Spike to stumble on top of as more bubbles swelled around, squishing and squeezing in on him as they tried to swallow the dragon whole.
“How are things going, Spiky-Wikey?” Nightmarity called down, and Spike gulped before raising his voice to reply.
“F-fine!” he said, wondering if she could even hear him over the parps and creaks and bloops of the surroundings – to say nothing of the bubbles everywhere.
“Glad to hear it~!” Nightmarity called back. “Don't forget, you've got other duties, so don't slack off!”
Blushing, Spike wondered what to do with the floods of bubbles and water everywhere to sort himself out. He grabbed the sticky pink dragon-costume and waved it around with a series of wet slap sounds, trying his best to get rid of the bubbles that way, then managed to grab another one from the pile and began using that.
This time the costume he was using – and washing, by splashing it into the water – was a big puffy otter one. It seemed to have a maid dress built into it, which was a surprise, but every time Spike tried to look further the bubbles would squeeze him or his suit would parp and distract him – reminding him to go back to the cleaning.
Maybe using the sink was overrated anyway! Though the levels of the soapy water did seem to just keep rising, which was probably going to be a big problem...
Spike decided that worrying about that was less important than getting his responsibilities done for Nightmarity. After all, she was counting on him to get these clean! Nopony would want to waddle around in a dirty plush suit. Spike reached over one of the bubbles, sinking quite deeply into it as his legs kicked in an attempt to push him over the top. He just managed to snag another stack of suits and diapers before slipping headfirst into the rising water, his rear stuck waving wildly about in the air as bubbles swelled around him. They pressed tighter and tighter, Spike blushing as his padding was squished about by the swelling forms before…
bwoomp!
The pressure suddenly vanished, and Spike found himself sitting inside a rather large bubble floating along the surface of the water. He looked out as the room continued to fill, though rather than worry, he gave a sigh of relief. Goodness, he almost wasn’t able to get his work done! But all this water should help clean the rest of the suits. Though he did tap his chin as he looked down at the diapers still stuck in the bubble with him. These ones still needed to be cleaned, and how could he…
His own padding squished as he sat down, sudsy water flowing out and pooling at the bottom of the bubble where the other diapers lay. Spike giggled, shaking his head. Of course, how could he have been so silly to forget? He dutifully spun about, wiggling his soaked padded rear above the pile of diapers before dropping his rump down and beginning to bounce upon the cushy padding. They soon started to swell, soaking up the soapy water as Spike bounced in his bubble, squeezing the warm cushy suit as he scrubbed the diapers clean.
As he scrubbed away and bounced up and down, Spike's bubble got bigger – swelling with each faint paaarp, though where the air came from to make it swell was anyone's guess.
The more the bubble swelled, the more it seemed to become iridescent – shimmery and translucent, with rainbow patterns marbled across the surface. They were so pretty to watch that before long Spike was just staring at them, rhythmically bouncing and squeezing and scrubbing in his comfy suit as he did just what Nightmarity wanted.
The coloured patterns seeped into his mind just as the soapy water seeped into his suit, making him feel placid and docile as the bubble swelled more and more. It almost felt like his remaining doubts and worries and fears were being parped out into the bubble, becoming part of the surface, kept there until-
-POP!
The bubble burst, making Spike blink suddenly as he lost what focus he'd had. He stumbled forwards, sending the squeaky-clean suits and diapers from his bubble skidding away across the floor, and he slid along until he reached the bottom of the stairs.
“There you are,” Nightmarity said, and Spike looked up to see she was standing just above the waterline. “You'd better hurry up – you'll need to dress for the rest of the day's duties!”
Spike floated for a little bit as he looked up at her, still a little dazed from the sudden rush of water. “Uh… y-yes Miss Nightmarity! What’s my next duty, again?” He asked a little sheepishly.
Nightmarity simply smiled knowingly as she turned about and made to head back up the steps. “It’s nearly time for my nightly stroll, and I can’t very well do that without my valiant steed to ride atop, can I?” She asked.
Spike got up, doing his best not to fall on the slippery floor as he gave his mistress a deep bow. “Of course, Madame! I’ll be ready when you need me!” He said before soppily wadding up the steps back towards the dressing room.
He stepped inside as Nightmarity trotted off to prepare herself, leaving Spike alone to find his steed costume. He hummed a little to himself, stepping in front of a fan that didn’t seem like it had been there a moment before to help dry himself off as he searched.
There was a large manticore suit… but seeing Nightmarity riding around on a Manticore just seemed silly. Besides, she might bump her head on its stinger too. Perhaps a Hydra? Ooh, but Spike might not get the praise he deserves being her loyal servant then, she’d just give it to one of the other heads! He furrowed his brow, pushing aside a plush owl suit as he searched for the right attire for a valiant and noble steed such as himself.
Elephant costume? Impressive, but a bit mundane… and no, unless Nightmarity was going to be strolling around an ice-cap there wouldn't be any point dressing as a penguin.
It would be a bit hard to ride, too.
Sending more suits avalanching to the floor, Spike considered and then rejected a Sphinx costume. The hairdo was a bit awkward, after all… then he ran into one which was a giant fuzzy fox with nine long tails.
That one did make him think carefully, before finally rejecting it – it was interesting, certainly, but not really something he felt Nightmarity would appreciate unless the tails could be moved properly and Spike didn't feel himself able to do that.
Finally, after digging through an enormous pile and leaving suits strewn all over the place, Spike finally came upon the ideal choice.
Of course! In hindsight, it was obvious – how could Nightmarity possibly be conveyed around by anything but a majestic dragon!
Spike hauled his choice out of the pile, though he was faintly troubled by second thoughts when he saw just how big it was. There was a zipper on top, just under the plush spines, but the dragon was easily forty feet long and had big wings in place of forearms – which was a bit odd, as it would mean Spike was unable to actually carry anything while he was in the suit.
It had a fine red colour, with a long wavy tail, and it did look very impressive – but-
“Spiiike,” Nightmarity called, and Spike hurriedly unzipped the back of the suit.
Pushing the sides of the zipper apart, Spike was met by a sea of deep red velvet, stuff that seemed to shimmer ever so slightly in the light. He slipped his lower half into the suit, trying to feel around for the feet, though he knew even if he slid all the way inside there was no way he could reach them and the wings at the same time. He heard hoofsteps down the end of the hall, and, without any more hesitation, he dove into the slippery velvet, trying to stuff himself into the suit before Nightmarity arrived. It was only after he was in did he realize there was no way he could close the zipper himself.
“Oh, Spikey, I do hope you’re ready~” Nightmarity called as she stepped inside. Spike wiggled around in the suit, trying to get her attention, only to hear her faint giggling. “Spike, I thought you said you’d be ready! But I suppose one little zip up short isn’t too far behind. As long as you promise me you’ll work extra hard on our flight...”
Nightmarity’s magic surrounded the zipper, and Spike could hear it close in around him, leaving him surrounded in the softly shimmering fabric.
He tried to move around to meet Nightmarity, but no matter how he wriggled, the fluff just sank and bent around him, feeling more like a tender massage than anything else. And yet, despite this, the suit seemed to obey, turning about to meet Nightmarity and lower its head. She gave the soft fabric a small smooch. “Shall we?” Nightmarity responded, and before Spike could say a word, the suit began to lumber along on its own, swishing its long tail left and right as Spike wiggled about in its plush confines.
As he sunk deeper into the soft, slippery material of the giant dragon suit, Spike became less and less aware of himself except as the guiding force behind the moving dragon – and more and more aware of the dragon suit, as if he were seeing what it was seeing and feeling what it was feeling.
It was an oddly detached experience, as he/the dragon moved with a kind of quadrupedal waddle down the hall and towards the front door. As he reached it, Nightmarity held up a hoof, and Spike stopped to bend his neck down for her.
Getting on his back, Nightmarity cuddled against one of his spines for a moment, then gestured. “Once around the valley,” she instructed.
Spike spread the wings of his plushy 'body', then rose into the air with a great thump of plush fabric against the air. Inside, his real body was massaged about in a gentle, rhythmic way, keeping him softly comfy and wonderfully snug as the giant plush dragonsuit flew majestically over the cities and towns below.
Spike wasn't sure where the cities and towns had come from, but it didn't seem important.
Spike banked through the sky, occasionally flapping the wings of the large plush suit as he soared above the ground. From time to time Nightmarity leaned one way or the other to direct his flight, squeezing him comfortably and relaxing atop his plush back.
Spike only sighed contentedly, watching as the clouds flew by below him. It was odd, even as he became more aware of the suit’s perceptions, it was like he could still see the fabric of the interior, how it glistened and gleamed, seeming to turn into a wonderful show of colors as he playfully poked and prodded at the slippery surface.
Even though there was only so much suit left, it even felt like he was slowly sinking deeper and deeper and deeper into the fluff, never wanting to escape its warm, cozy embrace.
Spike seemed to close his eyes for a moment, and then, suddenly, he was descending onto a balcony on the castle, Nightmarity hopping off as he hovered above the stone floor.
The black alicorn yawned, stretching a little bit as Spike landed beside her, curling his large tail around her slightly. “Mmm, that was lovely, my dear. But I do think it’s getting quite late, and you know how I am about losing any beauty sleep.”
Spike nodded, bending himself down to squeeze into the room and prepare it for Nightmarity. Of course, with how large his plush suit was, his rump became lodged in the doorway, leaving it stuck wriggling about. Nightmarity only chuckled, pressing herself into it to shove Spike through. “Perhaps we ought to give you a better suit for bed as well.”
Spike went through the gap with an audible pop, then turned around to look at Nightmarity as she trotted through. “But… I kind of like this one...”
Nightmarity's eyes glittered. “Oh, I'm sure you do! But that's a suit for flying, which is why it can fly,” she told him. “Doesn't that make sense? You'd hardly wear a walking suit for flying, or a washing suit for bed time.”
“Well… I guess not,” Spike admitted, not seeing the problem there.
“So you don't wear a flying suit while getting ready for bed, either,” she went on matter-of-factly. “Seems pretty clear to me – wouldn't you say?”
Spike nodded along with that, again not seeing a problem, his plushy head sinking towards the ground as Nightmarity talked him down with soft and soothing words.
When it reached the ground, his perception went a bit fuzzy, then he found himself clambering out of the big red dragon-suit as Nightmarity walked over to the door of her bedroom.
“In you come!” she told him. “Hurry, now, it's getting late!”
Spike waddled over – not even paying much attention any more to the thick diaper still between his legs – then entered the bedroom (Nightmarity's bedroom!) and caught sight of the suit Nightmarity was levitating out of the wardrobe.
It was positively regal! A bright purple dragon with a soft green belly, pudgy limbs and a spade tail… why, any dragon like this would make an excellent servant to Nightmarity! He could see why she had made such a suit. He happily took the plush suit, hardly noticing that he no longer had any of his others to keep him warm. Not that it mattered, this one looked puffy enough to make up for them by far! Spike eagerly slipped his own feet into the matching ones of the suit, pulling the arms over his and taking hold of the comically oversized zipper on the belly to slide up and keep him warm and snug inside. He pat his large plush suit belly, sighing happily as he gave his pudgy self a look over. But… something seemed wrong.
As if on cue, Nightmarity tugged at his tail, Spike turning around to see her hovering another set of clothes for him. A thick, puffy black diaper with blue gems dotting the rump just like Nightmarity’s own cutie mark and another bundle of fabric waited for him. He let out a giggle of glee, eagerly flopping down as Nightmarity slipped the diaper (which was easily large enough to be a pillow for Spike) under his suit’s rear and taping it snugly to him while unfolding the other fabric. A jet-black sleeper, made just big enough for Spike to slip into, with a few more blue gems dotting its surface. Spike tugged a little as he slipped into the suit, the rear bulging out to accommodate his diaper as the buttons strained a bit to hold in the fluff.
Nightmarity climbed into bed, Spike waddling behind her as her magic encompassed him to hoist him up into the bed beside her. She wrapped her hooves around her fat plush dragon, nuzzling him closely as his diaper crinkled softly, both enveloped in a sea of warm, cozy blankets and cushy pillows…
