Spike's Diary

Dear Diary,

You know, you'd think that after all the things Twilight and the others have done for this country, all the times they've put their lives on the line and saved everypony in Equestria, that the ponies could all be a bit more grateful towards them. But no! Apparently, they think they have the right to march on in here and criticise and condemn every single thing they think is wrong with them! Now, you're probably wondering what I'm talking about, and you see, it all started when Twilight decided to publish this book they'd all been writing in about their various friendship lessons. But, surprise surprise, other ponies haven't been getting the more positive side of those messages.

They've picked apart everything and I mean everything they've been trying to teach! And you should've seen Fluttershy during all this! She was almost in tears because of all that heckling! I swear, if Twilight hadn't stopped me, I'd have charged out there and just roasted them as soon as I found out what was going on! I doubt they'd be so happy to insult my friends if they knew they had a former Dragon Lord on their side! But, Twilight and the others just decided to wait for it to blow over.

She's more level-headed than the rest of us, always has been. But let me tell you, I sometimes wonder if ponies in this country even know what the word "gratitude" even means.
