Dear Diary,

Maud, Pinkie's sister, actually managed to get herself a boyfriend recently. You know, I'm happy for her. She's a really good person and I'm glad she was able to find somepony special to share her time with. Unfortunately, Pinkie wasn't as happy about it, since the guy in question, Mudbriar, was somepony she'd had a hard time getting along with earlier. Now, you can probably see where this is going. She gets jealous, there's some bad feeling, and then everypony makes up in the end, right? Well, yeah, but there's actually more to it than that. You see, Pinkie has basically accepted that she herself probably isn't going to be close to Mudbriar like Maud is, but she's also decided that it doesn't matter if she does or not. Maud likes him, and she can see things in him that appeal to her that just don't to Pinkie.

And you know, I like this. Sure, it'd be nice for Pinkie and Mudbriar to be friends, but this right here is also good. It's sort of like how Pinkie was able to get Twilight and our other friends to get closer to Maud through their shared closeness to her all those years ago. As for me, I think Mudbriar might be an acquired taste, but hey, let it never be said I can't try new things.

Wonder what an actual date between Maud and Mudbriar would look like? Now there's something to wonder about.
