Sanity Lost
Come on Dash, you need to relax, getting nervous now won't help you. Maybe a bit of food will help you relax. Ah that tastes good, but maybe I should stop eating; it is a dinner party after all. Let’s just get some rest before we have to leave. Room 1016, there you are, ah sweet comfortable bed.
Weird trip, considering I came here just to look around, maybe attend a race. I wonder how the Wonderbolts even knew I was coming, oh wait of course, they’ve been watching me. I wouldn’t expect anything less from them after all. I was just walking into Canterlot when a weird filly came up to me. She handed me a letter, and left without saying another word. As soon as I opened that my heart began to race. Heck my heart still races every time I read it.

Please show up at the location enclosed at around 7 P.M. tomorrow night for a dinner party. We would like to discuss your future with you.

My eyes unconsciously shifted to the clock and widened as soon as I realized what the hands on the face meant. “Oh crap, I only have an hour left!” I yelled as I grabbed the map that came with the letter and began to run down the hallways. I quickly rushed by a few server ponies who worked there. A few of them are yelling at me to slow down, but I can’t. It’s a long flight from here to the house they’re having the party at. Ugh, my hooves are already getting a bit sore, this is why I don’t run everywhere.
Ok, now just unfold your wings, ah there we go. Now I should just be able to relax on my way there. Wow, the clouds look pretty today, so white, and the sky is so blue. I’m really thinking about the clouds and the sky; I guess I’m really nervous. I just need to remind myself to relax, feel the cooling air beneath your wings. That rhythmic and hypnotic sound of your wings flapping, up, down, up, down, up, do-
Where am I, wait was I just sleeping while flying. Come on Dash, beginner mistake, you know better than that, I know it’s relaxing but focus. Eh, I guess I should have slept more than an hour or two last night. Oh goodness, I’m excited, but I really hope this party doesn’t take too long. I mean, I’m already so tired, Celestia forbid I fall asleep during the fun. Doesn’t matter now, I’m almost there, I’m sure to feel better once I get a bit of food in my stomach.
Ah there it is, now the only question is whether to land fast and powerfully, or slow and gracefully. Well they are the Wonderbolts, so fast it is. Tuck, lean, and wait for a few seconds. Now, I just stretch my wings and prepare for impact- Oh, that was a bit harder than I meant to go. Weird, for a party at a Wonderbolts house, it’s pretty ordinary. The shutters look amazing though, that gold finish is nice, and the walls are a dazzling white. I’m sure Rarity would love to see this place; she of all ponies would enjoy this design.
Should I knock, or let myself in, or what? Oh hey somepony opened the door for me. “Thank you.” I have to remember my manners after all. Wow this rug is so soft and red, it’s gorgeous. Weird I don’t see anypony here, maybe I’m at the wrong place? No, this is the only house nearby, so this must be it. Their probably in the kitchen, I’ll go meet them. “Hey, I’m here,” wait where are they? Are they playing hide and seek, bit childish for Wonderbolts but whatever.
“Oh I get it guys, ready or not here I come!” I can’t believe I’m doing thi- wait did the blinds just move? It’s probably soarin, slowly and quietly, and, “gotcha!” Huh nopony, I don’t like this, it feels to empty. Maybe I’m early; let’s have a quick look, nope. Clock says I’m right on time, so where are they; maybe the basement?
Those are some heavy wooden doors, “hello, anypony home?” Ok then, I’m just going to slowly get out of here, see if anyone tries to stop me. Wait, I remember leaving the doors to the basement open, whatever, just push them open again. Wow these are way heavier than I remember, come on, BUDGE.
Ugh, so now somepony’s playing with me, locking me inside this basement. “Ya really funny guys, now can you let me go please?” No answer at all, not even any snickering. Ok they won’t let me out, then I’ll have to bust out I guess.
OW, that door is solid, even at full speed I can’t break through it. Something is really wrong here, and I’m not sure if I want to know what. I’m sure there’s another way out around here somewhere, come on Dash just find it. This stone is really uncomfortable; I wish I hadn’t fallen for this. I mean for Luna’s sake, they’re Wonderbolts, they should be more mature than this.
Why do they even have such a large basement, I’ve been wondering this thing for an hour already, yet I haven’t found another way out. Nothing’s even down here except for a few barrels and a bunch of stone pillars, impressive pillars, but still useless.
Wait, what was that sound, weird. It sounds almost like somepony is following me, oh it’s probably them trying to freak me out. “Ya, you got me, I’m scared, can we go now?” Huh I could have sworn there was something behind me, weird. Oh ya, finding a way out, ah there we go. I can feel the wind coming from over here.
Impressive architecture down here, but still useless, I mean does anypony really need six different arches all leading down a different direction. They probably made it to make me get lost, but jokes on them. They left a door open, which must be why I can feel the air coming from the left most one. I have to give them credit for really going the extra mile, they even turned of all the lights in here.
Ok I’ve been walking this way for five minutes already, and I still haven’t found the way out. Maybe they knew that I would follow the wind, but whatever. Wait, why did the floor become slippery, gosh darn it. I wish I had some light in here, I can’t see anything! “If you guys don’t stop this right now I’ll make sure you regret it!” Crap, my heart is racing, this is a scary prank. Oh wait, that’s right, it’s all just a prank, one big prank. They can’t actually hurt me; they probably expected me to head back around now. So I’ll just keep going this way, I can feel the wind is stronger here anyways.
Ah, there we go, finally a light in the distance, never thought I’d miss the sweet light of a lantern so much. The floor is wet; those flankholes probably covered the floor with water. Well I’ll show them as soon as I get out of here! “Ha, got light now, what are you going to do next?”
Maybe I should just keep going before they do try something else. Wait, what’s that glinting on the floor, it’s red, weird. “Nice food dye guys!” It’s deeper here than before, I’ll just keep going. Ugh, what’s that smell, it’s like somepony crawled up here and died. “I don’t even want to know how you’re making that smell.”
This time I’m sure I heard somepony up ahead. Come on hooves, move faster, come on! I can see the light of their own lantern, almost there. “Ha, caught you this ti-“
“Oh Celestia,” it can’t be, no it’s impossible. I have to make sure; I know you’re afraid Dash but just look down. Now just carefully bring your hoof up to your mouth to taste. No denying it, this isn’t a prank anymore. But that means the water I’ve been walking on all this time, is blood. And that means that I’m stuck in here with something that can rip a pony’s chest wide open. But if Spitfire and Soarin are both dead, than who’s doing all this?
Don’t stop to think Dash, just run, run, and run! Get away from there, hurry, somepony or something is killing ponies, and it’s trapped you. Those 6 corridors! That must be the way out, if only the hallways weren’t so thin, I could fly. What is this place…? I know that wall wasn’t there a second ago, so then where did it come from. It’s solid all right, so that means I have to pass by them again.
Just run past, don’t look. Keep your eyes shut and keep running, ignore the tears, I know it hurts now but they would want you to live. That thing is still in here and by all chances it is chasing you right now, don’t let being tired stop you, keep running! What is this, some kind of game to this thing? It seems to control the entire house, how’s that even possible. Ha, finally a door, let’s see where you go. Don’t slow down though, just bash through it and shut it as fast as you can.
There catch your breath while you look for another way out. Well there’s another door, but what’s on the desk, a perfect another letter. Maybe something here will tell me what in Equestria is going on! Really nice fancy handwriting, almost like they were trying to hard.

What the heck does that mean? Who are they trying to impress, and why the heck this is here. Whatever, I should keep moving; after all I still don’t know what killed them. More importantly, I don’t even have a way out of here. Well I guess the only way forwards is through the other door.
