A Rude Awakening

It was a beautiful and sunny day in the town of Ponyville. Everypony walked about having a good day. Adults worked and made their living. Children ran about playing games and having fun. The butter colored pony, Fluttershy was busy helping Applejack clean up her messy barn. Apple cores and other garbage littered the floor. They picked up them up and tossed them into the garbage. After they finished picking everything up, Applejack said "If you don't mind, the floor could use a good sweeping." "Oh, that's fine." Fluttershy replied. Applejack tossed her a broom and they swept the floors. They continued to sweep for about an hour. "Thanks sugar cube. I appreciate it." Applejack said. "Oh no problem. Anytime." Fluttershy said back. They walked out of the barn and were met by the bright light. "Oh shoot, I forgot to harvest the apples over there." Applejack said, pointing over towards a section of her tree orchard. "Oh, do you want me to help you with that? It would be no problem at all." Fluttershy replied. "If you insist. I could harvest them in lickity split if you help." They headed over to the trees and began working. Applejack bucked the trees with her strong hoofs and the apples fell. Fluttershy flew through the trees and knocked the apples down. The two ponies finished the task in under 45 minutes. "Thanks again sugar cube." Applejack said. "Oh, it was no trouble at all." She quietly said back. "Okay, well it is getting late. I think I will go home if that's okay." "That's fine, see you later!" "Goodbye!" Fluttershy said back as she began to fly home.

The moon had begun to rise and the stars started shining across the town. Fluttershy had reached her home very tired from the day's work. All of the other tired and worn out ponies completed their nighttime routines and rested their heads on their soft and fluffy pillows, ready for a night of wonderful sleep and dreams. Fluttershy was eager to do the same. She just had to say goodnight to her pets.

Fluttershy went around her house and wished all of her animals good night. The chickens rested in their pens and birds relaxed in their cages. All of them closed their eyes and went to sleep. She went over to Angel, her pet rabbit, and tucked him into his bed and gave him a small kiss on his forehead. "Good night Angel, I love you." she said. Angel relaxed and shut his eyes and began drifting into sleep.

Fluttershy headed upstairs and lied down in her bed. She relaxed and thought about her day. Her and Applejack had done a good job with the barn and flawlessly harvested the remaining apples. Before she knew it she was asleep. She dreamed of being in a huge garden full of many different kinds of animals. There were beautiful birds soaring above her in the bright blue sky. Rabbits, chickens, and other animals wandered about the ground. She spied turtles, frogs, and fish swimming in the water. It was the most amazing thing she had ever seen, and she did not want it to end. She enjoyed the dream for what felt like hours talking to the animals and making new friends. She was then rudely awakened.

It was Angel who had woken her up. He looked like he was very annoyed. Fluttershy asked "Whats the matter Angel? Why are you up this early?" Angel then showed her something he had in his hand. It was a recipe for a fancy carrot soup and Fluttershy knew that he wanted her to cook it. She usually gave into these things, but the sun had not started rising yet and she was very tired. She knew she wouldn't be able to get out of bed and properly prepare the meal. It took about a half an hour to prepare and cook and she was not even sure she had the proper ingredients in her kitchen to make it. "I am sorry Angel, but I am really tired and I don't think we have the ingredients to cook that anyways." Angel was very surprised that he was not getting what he wanted and immediately became very angry. "Angel if you are hungry, just go eat a plain carrot or something. I can make that for you tomorrow alright? I have to go shopping anyways and I buy the things for the soup if you want." Angel was disgusted by her answer and looked as if he was ready to explode with anger. He then jumped off of the bed and stormed out of the room. Fluttershy felt bad about the whole event, but knew in her head that the rabbit was being unreasonable and quite ridiculous. She forgot about it and went back to sleep.

The next morning, Fluttershy woke up and got out of her bed with the sunshine blaring through the window. She yawned and stretched, ready to face another day. She then remembered last night's event with Angel and thought "He is probably fine. He most likely got over it and ate something else." She went downstairs and continued her morning normally. She walked around the house and fed all of her animals their breakfast. They all ate happily. Fluttershy then went into the kitchen to prepare her own food. As she was cooking she realized that she had forgotten to feed Angel. She called to the rabbit and had gotten no response. She began walking around the house continuously calling to Angel. "Angel? Angel come on! I am making breakfast! Do you still want that soup?" She went outside and continued to call for her pet. At this point she was worried because it wasn't like Angel to hide and refuse breakfast like this. In fact, he had never done anything like this before. She searched high and low and continued to call for him. After about an hour of searching she still had not found him. She was beginning to get frightened. Where was Angel?
