Prologue: 100
Small bits of energy flew through the air like leaves being blown away by the wind. But they weren't being blown away? No---they were automatically swimming through rocks and burned trees straight towards a pony-shaped figure. Its body was shrouded by a dark reddish aura it's eyes and buttons beneath its clothing glowed brightly in white. its hair was flowing all so slowly like a wave in the ocean; if you ever have seen how slow the waves be moving that's how slow it goes.
Slowly as the air grew quiet, the countdown commence.

The ground vibrated violently as two tower size Changelings were stomping their way towards the silent pony. But there aren't your ordinary Changelings. These kinds live deep in the underworld and only thirst for one thing.
Souls.
As the two giants speed up they leaped in the air to pounce at the little pony. But blind or stupid it was not; it already knew they were there even before they decided to attack. It turned to its shoulder locking eyes at its attackers the white dotted eyes grew bright and before they knew it: they turned into more bites of energy for it to devour. the shadow pony sucked all of their magic energy til there was no more to take in before letting out a deep sigh. The sigh was so deep and loud it would make any pony's spine shiver in fear. But oh how remarkably delicious it was.
It wanted more.
It needed more.
The ground burst open as another Changeling a-rise from the surface, its body had no hooves or legs almost reptilian like a snake except its head was replaced by another species and Its whole body was red. It opened its mouth just enough to shoot a beam of thunder at the shadow-pony as it stared back at it with no change into its emotion. Protecting itself it created a shield blocking it and leaving an explosion. Taking a piece of the crater as it still stood in place; it levitated itself to the air not taking its eyes off the reptilian-creature then gave it the same stare as it did to the others before turning into dust and more pieces of energy.

The battle was far from over. As the light cleared the shadow pony looked to its left to see more changeling-spirits in different shapes and different appearances: One had the body of a squid with a smiling mask over its face, its mane was replaced with even more tentacles and below its belly was a huge mouth that could spread wider than six. Far behind was another changeling-spirit that takes the form of a bat its red burning eyes staring down at the little pony licking its lips seductively, floating beside him was a furry-ling spirit their lips formed a creepy smile a smile that no-pony would ever want to look at another pony's face.
Its skin was melting slowly; every time its skin would drip and drop down on something whether wood or grass or anything that's alive would be disintegrated in seconds. Finally, we have the boss of this surrounding group: slithering around them was another reptilian-like Changeling but this one is a lot bigger than the last one and faster too.
But the shadow-pony was unfazed at what it was seeing. It didn't care how many there were, even if they added another triple it matters not. Whoever comes it'll kill them, it'll them all.
One by one.
Squid-spirit made its first move by stretching its tentacles long enough to grab a hold of him, sparks of purple lighting shrouded the shadow-ponies right hoof and shocks them till they blew up. It keeps dodging keeping itself as far from them as possible then everything went black as it got swallowed by the reptile before using a few of its magic to completely obliterate its entire body to smithereens. It fell slowly spinning in circles before spreading its hooves to catch air, with instinct it tilted its head up while raising its hoof and blast an energy-ball at the furry-ling before it could even touch her.
Suddenly it felt something wrapping tightly around its waist, chest, and neck. It looked up and faces its snatcher as it was pulling it towards the hungry creature's belly. Its mouth opened wide showing its triangle-like teeth readying to munch him down and crunch his bones like twigs. But as it was to slow to, the shadow pony made another shield breaking free from its grasp.

The Shadow pony's body began to glow brightly along with its aura flashing in so many colors, its eyes went from white to lavender. It slowly moved its head in a circle before stopping and tilt its head facing up, it let out an ear-piercing scream that echoed around the void. It almost felt like the world itself was shaking at that scream, all of the changeling-spirits immediately turned at the direction of the scream before fleeing to find cover.

The scream went on like a loop the light increased as it grew bigger. Its lavender faded to burning red eyes as it was field with so many emotions.
Confusion.
Sadness.
Rage.
All of that mixed together into a giant bubble and as the screams intensified and echoed loudly an explosion went off, spreading wide around not giving some of the escaping changelings time to run. Some turned to dust, some turned into small particles while others were more flowing energy to feed off of. In the end, nothing remained except 'it' that survived, it stood there menacingly turning its head from left to right scouting any remaining spirits.
But finds none.
And so it closes its eyes going back to its slumber; awaiting the day of when the hunt will soon begin once again.

Chapter 1: Take your best shot!
Chapter 1: Take your best shot!
A few taps were heard behind the door and at the same time, the creaking from the elder mare's chair stopped and stood still in place. She grabbed her glasses that were on the table before adjusting them properly, then carefully pulls herself off her chair and galloped towards the door. The knocking continued till she reached for the door and pulled it open just enough to poke her head out. Standing outside her door was a pink-ish earth pony her mane big & poofy, she wore a nice business suit from top to bottom and of course her favorite purple tie. Her eyes were field with so much joy & happiness even while she was smiling at the elderly earth-pony.
"Good morning Mrs pickle!" She greeted the elder-mare in a slow sentence.
"Um... good morning?" She greeted back.
"Why're you still inside your house ma'am? Come on out it's nice and sunny out here!"
Mrs pickle opened her mouth as to say something but shuts it after. A part of her wanted this pink-mare to leave while another part of her hoped she stayed for a bit longer, just a bit longer for her sake and sanity. "Oh that's fine sweetheart," she said. "But I can't right now I'm sick."
The pink mare raised her brow at the elder-pony not convinced by her reply: This wasn't the first time she heard those words from her, in fact, she heard them many times through the week. Long ago, she was at one of her parties with all of her dearest friends, having the best time of her life. A few days later, she became odd, unsociable. "Huh, that's funny," she said. "That's the fifth time I've heard you say that this week."
"Oh really? Wow, silly me." The old mare let out a giggle. But this giggle didn't sound like anything like the party pony remembered, not like, the real one. An idea came to the party pony's mind, if her theory is true she has to be sure.
"Mrs Pickle." She called.
"Um, yes?" she responded.
"I'm gonna ask you a super, duper, important question, and you have to answer with full honesty." The party pony announces while pointing at the elderly mare with her hoof.
"Alright, I'm listening."
The air was silent between the both of them. The pink mare's smile disappeared, her brows were furrowed, the look on her face was making the elder nervous. Cold sweat ran down her forehead, as she stood there waiting for her to ask the question. As time moved, it moved slowly: two birds flying high in the sky, fillies playing hopscotch with their friends, a DJ pony carrying her radio while bopping her head to the music. The pink mare finally ended the silence by asking those few words. "Are you a changeling..?"
The old mare was quiet for a moment before bursting out laughing by her question, taking it as a joke. After a few minutes, she calmed down while wiping her tears away with her hooves, "Oh Pinkie. That has to be the most hilarious thing you've ever ask me." She pointed out.
"That wasn't a joke..."
"You're right, it wasn't. So please, allow me to try again this time..." Her voice got deeper as she finished her last sentence. A white flash blinded the pink mare when it vanishes, she saw before her, was a very tall red changeling. Its eyes burned into hers, deep holes from its hooves to its back and its skin was as dark as charcoal. It licked its tongue viciously. It was hungry and it found its next meal. "Well well, my little pony friend. I congratulate you for figuring it out the moment you laid eyes on me." It complemented her, taking slow steps towards her. "So, what will you do now? throw salt at me? Destroy me?"
The pink mare stayed silent. She glared at the tall changeling then was replaced by her bright smile. "Nope." She replied. "She is!" The party pony rolled her body around, pointing her hoof at another fellow mare. She wore what looked like a uniform ponies wear to go to school with yellow buttons going down in a straight line down her chest plate.
Her hair was short but matched with her purple eyebrows, and her face looked calm and collective. She reached down her pocket and pulled out a small pebble. The changeling stared in disbelief. Did this mare actually believe she was going to execute him, with a rock? How brainless does she think she is? "Oh I see: you're gonna destroy me with your little rock right?"
"You could say that." The gray mare answered, in a monotone.
The red changeling didn't take her word seriously, instead, it laughed. Laughed at it as another one of her jokes. "You can't be serious right? You ponies really are such idiots, the lot of you! Go ahead throw it! Take your best shot!" It stood up putting its hooves in the air, revealing its chest to her. The grey mare stared at its target takes her little pebble to her hoof, readying herself.
She slowly closed her eyes, inhales the air then breathed it out: In one quick thrust she threw the pebble at the changeling's forehead. It penetrated through its skull and came out so fast it levitated in the air before coming back to her hooves. She wiped the blood off her pebble while not taking her eyes off her kill. The changeling's pupils shrunk, it didn't move, it didn't make a noise, it didn't even have time to react. Its breath was shaking, its body was trembling. It could feel all of its nerves shutting down slowly along with its heart. With the last of its remaining breath, it asked in a slow sentence.
"Who... are you..?"
The changeling burst like an egg exploding. Leaving behind a puddle of blood on the wooden floor. She watched as the blood reached for her hoof, not even faze as to what happened.
"Maud. Maud Pie."
Author's Note
This is my first story that I’ve ever made! Sorry the chapter’s a bit short, I’ve been spending all night on this and it could be hard trying to put things into words in stories like these.
For now, for every chapter I post would be either short or very long. If you guys have any questions I’ll try to answer them as much as I can!
