Riding

Twilight was laying on a blanket by her castle as she watched Ponyville.

It was nice out which was why Twilight was outside by her castle. As she laid there Applejack came up to her.

"Hey Twilight have anything planned today?" Applejack asked, Twilight wondered why Applejack was asking.

"No I dont...what's going on?" Twilight asked. Applejack reached her hand out to her.

"Ah want to show y'all something so Ah I came by for you unless your busy at the moment." Applejack said. Twilight thought about Applejack's offer. She knew she had time to see what her friend wanted to show her but at the same time she needed to help out Equestria and didnt want to waste time.

"No thanks Applejack, I dont want to bother you." Twilight said. Applejack laughed and shook her head.

"You wouldnt be bothering me Twilight. Y'all are my best friend so I enjoy your company!" Applejack exclaimed. Twilight smiled as she felt reassured by that.

"Thanks Applejack." Twilight said.

"Your welcome! So are you sure you dont want to go?" Applejack asked, Twilight thought about it for a few moments.

"Well...alright you can show me...it might be fun." Twilight said. Applejack motioned her to come with her and she did as they both left the area.

Twilight wondered where Applejack was taking her as she wanted to know what Applejack had in mind.

"How much farther do we have to go?" Twilight asked as she felt like she was getting tired out.

"Not much farther now. Y'all just hang in there." Applejack stated, Twilight decided to take Applejack for her word as she fell quite and just followed her friend.

Soon they entered a clearing that was by Everfree Forest. It was huge and it made Twilight wonder how long this clearing had been there.

"Why did you bring me here Applejack?" Twilight asked her best friend. Applejack smiled and turned to look at Twilight.

"Twilight have you ever ridden a horse?" She asked. Twilight shook her head. Applejack smirked and whistled and horse entered the clearing.

"I've never ridden one before! I dont know the first thing about horse riding!" Twilight said. Applejack frowned.

"If you dont want to learn then I wont teach you. I just thought you would appreciate a lesson. I'm sorry Twilight." Applejack shrugged, Twilight was shocked by Applejacks change of tone as she didnt say that she didnt want learn.

"Applejack, its fine, I wasnt refusing you! I would love to learn. It's just I've never ridden a horse because I was raised in Canterlot and spent my adult years in Ponyville and I still didn't have time and when I became princess I didn't have time either so this is great that you're doing this for me." Twilight explained.

"That's what I was hoping you would say." Applejack said. Twilight smiled and then all of a sudden Twilight was plopped onto the saddle and cried out in shock.

"Wait I'm riding right now! How do I turn!?" Twilight exclaimed.

"Its fine I'll lead you around! It's not like I'm going to send the horse running with you on it!" Applejack said with a laugh.

"Wait what?! Are you sure about this?" Twilight asked. Applejack laughed and before long Twilight was riding it.

Twilight's nervousness grew as she did not want to fall off but then Applejack gave her a reassuring smile and that stopped Twilight from being nervous.

"See how easy this is?" Applejack asked. Twilight shook her head as she xouldnt believe it didnt take that long to learn.

"I dont know why it was that easy I thought it took people time to learn how to ride." Twilight said with disbelief.

"It only took Apple Bloom like one day. It's not hard to do. It's nothing that advanced actually! Alls you need to do is steer right or left that's it." Applejack said. Twilight smiled as she rode the horse.

"Thank you so much Applejack...its amazing." Twilight said. Applejack continued to lead Twilight around.

"Your welcome. I knew you would enjoy something like this. I'm glad this wasnt a waste." Applejack said

"His name is Sherman by the way." Applejack mentioned.

"That's a nice name." Twilight said as she admired the horse and thought about the name of the horse.

Sherman was continued to be led around the clearing by Applejack as Twilight sat on the saddle.

"See? It's not difficult. Just always remember to balance yourself." Applejack said.

"So balance yourself or risk falling off?" Twilight asked. Applejack laughed.

"Yeah pretty much." Applejack said.

Applejack led Twilight around quite a few times as Twilight just smiled enjoying every single minute of it.

Twilight realized how much fun this was, she was not expecting to have fun with this but she ended having fun with it anyway.

Twilight remembered to balance herself as she rode around on Sherman while her friend led her.

Twilight was a bit nervous as she didnt want to fall off but Applejack knew that she wouldnt and would reassure her that she wouldnt.

Soon Twilight got off of Sherman and hugged Applejack for the experience. She was so glad that she got to ride a horse.

"Thanks Applejack that was wonderful." Twilight said to her friend.

"Your welcome. If you ever want to ride Sherman again come to me anytime you want I own him." Applejack said.

"When did you get him?" Twilight asked with interest.

"I won him at a fair." Applejack said with a shrug.

"When was that?" Twilight said. Applejack tried to remember what the date of the day that she had gotten on but couldnt remember.

"I cant really remember." Applejack said.

"Its alright Applejack I'll see you later." Twilight said.

"Bye!" Applejack said. Soon Twilight walked back home and when she got back to her castle in Ponyville she collapsed onto her bed and breathed out.

She was glad that she had ridden a horse and looked forward to another time where she could ride one again.
