Becoming the new Physics teacher at Canterlot High, she discovers Sunset Shimmer and begins to ponder the situation of her student. After the events of the Fall Formal where Sunset's origins are revealed and she is defeated, Kerra gives the young woman an offer. An offer of a home, and a family of sorts.
