Queen Chrysalis used to be known as the best and most promising leader that the Grand Hive, and it's outlying Hives, ever saw. She had plans to infiltrate the royal hierarchy, to give her people more love-food than they'd ever seen before... to take over all of Equestria, and usher in a Golden Age history books couldn't leave out.

She used to be known for that, until something went wrong in the heat of her plan's execution, and the changelings were brutally chased out, back to their underground Hives, sentenced to forever having Equestria be on high alert and ready to find and kill any changeling they found.

Queen Chrysalis was no longer the brave, proud monarch she once was. With her plans foiled and a kingdom looking to her for guidance she couldn't give, she submitted to what she deemed her kingdom's rightful fate. The changelings have been starving for far too long, but the Queen has issued an official law that those who try to explore outside shall be heavily punished upon their return. It's led to a horrible famine- changelings barely getting enough love from faking relationships with changelings who were initially strangers, changelings acting like they're in love with animals, and worse.

She's tired of watching her kingdom fall apart, watching as her fellow changelings have been sentenced to becoming the monsters the overworld depicts them as.She's determined to change things, and she knows she can. She's the Queen's direct daughter- one of the last her mother had before falling into a rut. Tsetse's been studying. She's learned all the ways to rebuild her kingdom. She's learned ancient techniques of gaining surpluses of love. She'll do what her mother promised and usher in a gold age....
