Mollygirl begins as a sergeant in the Co-op Guard. A simple earth pony mare who along with her squad mates discovers and fight for those they love and the future of the Co-op against those who threaten to destroy this bastion of hope in the Wasteland

The borderlands are not a location in Equestria so much as a state of mind. They are the border between civilization and barbarianism; sanity and insanity; survival and death. After a century the Manesville Stable had to open up. The world they entered was far different from the one their grandparents had left behind.

The Overmare and Overcow made alliances with several surrounding communities of survivors and blended their populations to form the Co-op, a bastion of hope and survival. For the previous century, they have flown under the detection spell. However now events out East, as well as in Hoofington have forced their hooves.

This is the story of the descendants of those stable dwellers. Among them is Mollygirl, an earth pony mare, and her squadmates in the Co-op Guard as they discover and fight for those they love and their Co-op's future as well as that of a fledgling NCR. Not all heroes fight alone, even though they may try to. When the cost begins to take its toll, it is time to remember the Co-op Guard Motto. For Friends, For Family, For Herd.

This story while long can be divided up into five arcs as follows:
Chapters 1- 20, The Co-op
Chapters 21-49, The Expedition
Chapters 50-74, The Return Home
Chapters 75-100, The Deployment
Chapters 101-130, The Enclave War and After

As a side note, each chapter ends with a dedication song. For those who remember Casey Kasem and his long-distance dedications, they are along those lines. Most are from a character in the chapter, sometimes someone we have not directly met. The songs give their emotions and set the tone for the chapter. As a side note, most of the songs are available online.
