" Sorry, I know it hurts a little but bear it for a few more minutes, ok, I promise you'll feel a lot better ". Billy said to Twilie as he kept massaging her legs and thighs to remove the stress accumulated during the mock matches from earlier.

Twilie nodded and closed her eyes as more pain shot through her limbs during the process, more that once she kicked by reflex leaving a couple of hooves marks in Billy's hands. Still, the boy endured and continued, little by little, the pain ceased and a feeling of comfort became present instead. Twilie sighed with pleasure as she felt the tension of her legs vanishing, Billy smiled remembering of a couple of times he would apply the same treatment for his mother.

After a few more minutes, Billy finished and put Twilie in her makeshift bed as she fell sleep from the fatigue. " Sweet dreams my friend ". Putting a cover her body, Billy went to the kitchen to prepare something to eat, since it would be one more day before his Mother returned he was in charge of his own food which mostly consisted of Ham sandwiches and or whatever he found in the fridge, it didn't bother him in the slightest, he was use to it by now thanks to both of his parent's jobs, his father was a police officer of a special unit and his Mother was a professional PokePon judge for a Talent show. Both were pretty busy and as a result Billy had to juggle his life around them, this wasn't such an issue when his Grandfather was happy with him, he would be more that eager to take care of his grandkid and take him everywhere with him but as Billy grew this changed, he became reclusive and would threat him like a nuisance.

Billy missed the days where he would learn from his Grandfather and play with Muffins until exhausted, he thought that things would improve when Billy passed his test but Professor Dickson was still displeased with him.

Pushing the bad taste of memory behind, Billy devoured his sandwiches and took a few of his books from his collection, ' A guide to successful PokePon egg hatching ' and ' PokePon: Unicorn Edition '. He read as much as his eyes would let him but soon fatigue got to him too. After checking his egg and Twilie one more time he went to bed to finish his day but before fallen sleep he prepared his alarm to wake extra early.

Outside of the Dickson residence, the red PokePon lurked for a place to spend the night, the Voice has explained its plan and now he needed to make it successful, he just hoped that everything could go smoothly, his reunion with his sisters was riding on it.

NEXT MORNING...

The alarm roared to life just as Billy programmed it, the noise was laud enough to shake Twilie out of her own sleep, she give her owner a cute yawn before stretching to finally awake completely. " Twi? ". Asked the purple PokePon.

" Sorry, forgot to tell you yesterday, we're training today, class with Gramps start at 10 this morning so we have some few extra hours, yesterday's matches make realize that I don't have a full grasp on your abilities and I pushed you beyond your capabilities, for that I'm sorry Twilie, what happened yesterday was all my fault ". Billy kneeled down and patted the little unicorn who responded to the touch with a sad smile, she then soon her head and jumped up and down showing determination and enthusiasm for the training she was going to get.

" First let's go for a little jog around the town, nothing hard, just to measure your stamina and speed ". Human and PokePon walked out of the house and started their exercise with a slow walk that little by little build up speed. Their exit was quickly detected by the red colt PokePon.

Eeyup-up ". The colt said as he got up and started following, soon the Voice too called to him..

' Where are they going?.

" Uh? Eeyup ".

' Good, this will make my plan easier, follow them and stay hidden, I'll take control over another of our kind to aid us, when the time comes, strike, don't worry about my temporary vessel, this is far more important that a simple minded being as long as I achieve my goals no sacrifice is too small! ".

" Eenope? ".

' Do as I command little colt, refuse and I shall find a more proper servant for me, now go, and don't fail me '. Said the voice coldly making the colt second guess wherever he was doing the right thing following the incorporeal voice.

Arriving at the skirt of the town, Billy waited for his companion to arrive, despite been a short run Twilie was already showing problems, her respiration was bad regulated, her strides were uneven, there was so much to work on. They passed the town's border and went a bit deeper into the wilderness to be free of eyesores.

When they were far enough Billy stopped and called to Twilie. " Ok Twilie, good work getting here, rest for a bit and we'll do some cardio to increase our stamina, I'll do it too so we can both improve ". Once Twilie got her breath back under control Billy placed himself in front of her. " Ok Twilie, let's begin, copy my moves as much as you can, it doesn't need to be exactly like mine just do something similar with your body, let me know if you need to rest, ok? ".

" Twi Twi! ".

" Good, then... Go! ".Billy started with Jumping Jacks and then advanced to simple hops, Twilie managed to keep up by performing with less intensity, they would stop every now and then when either of them lost air. Not too far from where they where, the red PokePon was waiting for the voice to trigger its plan, the colt simply hoped that the voice knew what it was doing, after a few more minutes of moving the colt started to feel drowsiness, it was in that moment that the voice came back.

' Be alert little colt! I have instigated the beast a little too much, you better be ready or the human and his little runt will end up with a few bite marks... Or worst! '.

" Eeup? ". The colt asked confused but a help and a growl was the clue that the plan wasn't as smooth as the voice expected.

" That's a-a Timberwolf! What's one of those doing here? ". Billy took a few steps back from the snarling PokePon. " Twilie, let's move back little by little, don't move suddenly or it may attack us ". The lavender PokePon eyed the wooden creature with fear, the look in its eyes was more feral that the one from the bug PokePon they encountered in the forest.

From his hidden spot the red colt prepared to enter in action but he too was startled by the appearance of the Timberwolf, for a young PokePon he was strong, strong enough to knock out adult humans, but an angry vicious Timberwolf of the same agility and size as him this was no easy match, reason why he froze rather that jump in action right away.

His hesitation gave the wooden PokePon all the time it need it to strike, its first target was the small PokePon filly, it tried to use *Bite* against her but her human trainer got in the way in time, not enough time to safely remove his own arm unfortunately, and let his with teeth marks and small bits of blood coming out of them.

" Twi! ". The Twilight yelled in worry seen her human in pain.

" I'm, I'm ok, just a scratch, a very painful scratch, let's back off, slowly, very slowly ". Billy said as he cradled Twilie with his good arm, he tried to step back without calling more attention to himself and his Twilight but the Timberwolf kept him in sight.

" Nice Wolfy, nice PokePon, I hope I tasted horrible ". Billy's hope of leaving a bad taste in the PokePon mouth were dashed when the Timberwolf licked its mouth with a vine that worked as its tongue.

" Twi Twi? ". Asked Twilie in distress but Billy couldn't put much attention, but soon an idea came up to him.

" Twilie, listen well, if the Timberwolf tries to attack again, use * Flashbang* to blind it so we can run away ".

The Timberwolf growled in warning of its next attack. " Ready Twilie, when the-Ah! ". Billy couldn't finish his sentence as he tripped with a rock that made him lose his footing, in that moment the wild PokePon leaped at the falling pair with the intension of getting another nice bite out of them. Its Jaws opened fully to try and get a good grip on wherever it could get, its intensions were left on that only, intensions, a red body collided with the wooden one at mid-air hurting it and sending it flying.

" Wha-? ". Billy and Twilie saw a small colt in the place where the Timberwolf have been just seconds ago, his fur was a vivid red with strawberry blonde mane and tail, he was big for a colt and by the way he send the Timberwolf flying it was obvious he was strong too.

The Timberwolf wasn't done yet, the sudden attack left it confused and tangled in some of the bushes but that wouldn't hold it down for long. Understanding this, the colt turned around and looked at the still surprised human. " Eeyup yup, eeuyup! ".

Twilie was faster in understanding, she jumped off his arm and started pulling at his pants toward the town. " I get it, let's go! ". The three got a good head start but the howling coming from behind meant that the chase was just beginning.

Not long in the run Twilie started to get exhausted, as fast as he could Billy picked her off and increased his speed, the town was within sight but reaching it wasn't a 100% guarantee that the Timberwolf would stop the pursuit, must wild PokePon kept their distance from populated areas but in special cases such as hunger or territorial disputes they would venture in it, Billy hoped that this wasn't one of those cases.

As they got closer Billy could heard the stomping of the Timberwolf legs getting louder.
It was obvious now that it wouldn't stop just because the alien environment, the wild PokePon was dead set to get them. Gears started spinning, a quick look to his right told him that the red PokePon who just saved him was in their side or just running in the same direction, he wasn't sure if he was willing to follow commands from any human, Twilie could provide some fighting against the Timberwolf but he doubted she was near it's level, but perhaps both PokePon could win if they acted together or just last long enough for someone to bring help.

" Hey! Uh? Big guy! You think we can work together? ". Billy asked the colt PokePon without stopping.

The Colt's ears twitched as sign that he was listening, then he gave his answer in the form of a nod and a eeyup. " Ok then, we'll create an opening for you, when we do, go for it as hard as you can! ". The colt took a few seconds but nodded at the end.

" Ok, ready Twilie, at my mark ". The little unicorn nodded in affirmation, she started charging her horn for an attack. They were just getting inside the town when Billy called. " Now! *Flashbang* ".

Billy stopped and turned while holding Twilie up like the baboon in that movie about murdering lions and hyenas, the Timberwolf was caught off guard and was blinded completely. " Out of the way! ". Billy screamed to the red colt as the out of control Timberwolf went straight for them but with its vision impeded the wild PokePon was like a small bike going at full speed. Both Billy and the colt jumped in time out of the way, allowing the wooden PokePon to pass harmlessly through them and slamming head first against the wall of a small building.

The sound of cracking twigs and branches and the yell of pain from the Timberwolf told the young human just how much damage it took. Billy stood up with Twilie still in his embrace, the red colt too was standing up now, his expression uncertain of what to do, he took a small step forward.

" Don't get close! It may look down but it could be up any second now, just to be sure, Twilie, use *Magic ball*.

" Eenope! ". The little red PokePon got in the way before Twilie could even charge her horn. He stomped on the ground in disapproval of hurting the Timberwolf anymore.

" Twi! Twi Twi Twi! ". In protest of his action, Twilie too started arguing, claiming that the Timberwolf was dangerous and reminding the colt that he too attacked it earlier.

" Eeyup! ". The colt refused to let Twilie use any move in the wild Timberwolf, replaying back that it was just to save them and nothing more.

" Guys, we can stay like this! If it wakes up then-! ". His eyes moved back to the Timberwolf as it came back from its dazzled state, a quick shook of its head was all it took to recover, the noise of the two arguing PokePon make it turn and in pure instincts the wooden one went for the nearest victim, the red colt with its back turned.

" Watch out! ". The red colt let out a yell of pain as the Timberwolf got his leg in a tip grip with its sharp wood teeth, in reflex, the colt landed a few kicks to its face trying to get it off but the Timberwolf wasn't giving up just yet.

" Twilie, quick! We need to get it off him! ". Billy moved behind the trashing PokePon and he took the Timberwolf from the back in a lock, the surprise of the hold combined with a well planted kick finally was too much for it and relented. Billy used all his strength to pull the beast up while the colt limped away.

As soon as the Timberwolf saw its pray escaping it trashed wild to free itself from th human. " Argh! Twi-Twilie! I can't hold it for long! Shoot it! One more blast will weak it enough to capture it! ".

" T-Twi?! ". Twilie asked scared.

" Don't worry, just shoot it! ". Twilie nodded and focusing her magic she shot a *Magic ball* directly at the chest of the Timberwolf, the attack hit it dead center and the PokePon howled in pain once more but it didn't collapsed, rather, it trashed its body with more vigor. " One more! Hurry! ".

Hearing the command, the Timberwolf knew that if it was hit once more it would be its defeat, getting free from the human became its priority but despite the injury sustained early and the ones he was getting from holding it, the human didn't let go, but that was about to change.

" Kugh! ". Billy felt a powerful blow in his chest that almost knocked him over, before he could even guess what was that, a second attack came from the back of the Timberwolf, Billy was send flying and crashed against the same wall the Timberwolf crashed before. The wood PokePon was free now and from its back, a set of three vines emerged, the weapon used to dispose of the human.

Free and more angry than ever, the Timberwolf looked at the little filly and prepared for attack, Twilie couldn't even move, the fear and worry for her trainer froze her in place. The wild PokePon moved and came within inches of it pray when a red blur crashed against it from the side.

Just a whimper from the Timberwolf was heard this time, too much damage now has taking its strength to even growl or yelp, yet the little colt did learned from his mistake and before the Timberwolf could recover he rose his hoof and used *Stomp* on its head scoring a critical hit.

The green lights of the wolf's eyes almost disappeared. " That... should do it" . Billy said weakly, from his pocket, Billy took out a CUVE and with much pain he threw the square object against the Timberwolf, the CUVE found its mark and started the process of capture, after a few seconds, the light and the sound of successful capture was heard.

The sounds of footsteps could be heard now approaching, Twilie quickly went to check on her trainer, her little face distorted into a worried expression. Meanwhile the red colt didn't know what to do, the next part of the plan was for him to become part of the human boy's PokePon but by interfering and causing injuries on him the colt may have lost his chance.

The chance of reuniting with his sister seemed to slip away went the weak big called to him. " You ok there? ". The colt froze, for him humans weren't always kind, if he messed up he would be punished, that was a standard for him and the lost of his sisters only fueled that notion even more, but here was this boy, hurt because of him and the Voice, still asking if he was ok.

" E-eyup ". The colt responded with shame.

" That's... good ". The boy passed out while Twilie cried in his lap for him to respond. The colt didn't move and in less that a few seconds he didn't even dare when he and the rest was surrounded by more humans.

" Hey! I heard a commotion around this corner! ".

" Holy crap! Isn't that Dickson's kid? He looks bad! ".

" What happened to him? ".

" Leave that for later, let's take him to the clinic! ".

" Do we contact the Professor? ".

" You do it, I'm not telling him this happened during my guard, that weird eye Pegasus of him is crazy! ".

" Idiots! Help me moving him or I'll tell him you are responsible! ".

" What do we do with those two PokePon? ".

" Must be the kid's, take them to the pokePon Center, they'll pick them up later ".

SOME HOURS LATER...

Back at the PokePon Center, the red colt rested in a small compartment equiped with food dispenser, water and bed, more that he ever had in his short life, all exchangeable for the chance to see his sister's, or at least so that he could revert the scenes he just witnessed, like the little filly next to him, crying her heart out as her human was taken away, she didn't wanted them to take him, she got violent and was almost sedated before a gray pegasus landed scaring everyone, the two talked and she calmed down.

The next Hing he saw that he regret was the face of the old man, the family of the kid, his face turned from serious to enraged, first at everyone in general, then at the adults, then in general again scolding and yelling before the gray pegasus kicked him to calm him down, he did so and then took both the purple filly and him to this place.

And here he was, waiting for who knew what, maybe he would be punished or something worse, deciding that looming in self pity was useless, he moved to the small wall and talked with his neighbor. " Euyup, eeuyup? ".

The little filly didn't react at first, her head down on the bed, her eyes red of crying. She slowly turned to see the green eye in the hole of the wall and offered a simple " Twi ".

With nothing else to talk between them, the red PokePon returned to rest, he was healed already and he didn't felt like eating so he decided to sleep, his plan was interrupted however by his uninvited friend. ' Marvelous! This plan came out better that I have expected, not only did you got yourself acquainted with the human brat but he also received a good trashing by Timberwolf, it was very entertaining! ".

" Eeyup? ".

" It? No, it is not of further us to me, the humans will do whatever they want with it, knowing them they must likely will throw it in some dark musk place to rot for harming one of their own, a shame really, if it wasn't so wild I could have made more use of it but at the end of the day a beast is still a beast ".

" Eenope! Eeyup yup! ".

" Do not concern your little mind with those things, your purpose is to serve me and assist in my liberation, once and only once your part is done will you be able to see your kin again, the rest, is of unimportance! Rest now my little colt, there is much more to do ".

The colt felt chills running down his spine when the voice left with a laugh of amusement showing little to no care for the PokePon she just used, was he doing the right thing by helping her? The boy has shown concern for him despite just meeting him, and the way the little filly cried for him was further prove of his care for its PokePon.

Still tired, the colt tried to sleep but he couldn't avoid the feeling of guilt from accompany him into slumber.

MUCH LATER...

Stirring back from unconsciousness was one of the more horrible experience in Billy's opinion, his body ached from the aftermath as well as for the soreness of been immobile for so long, his firsts moves including opening his eyes hurt like hell. " Ugh! ".

" Ho-Honey? Oh thank goodness! You're finally awake! ". Exclaimed a pained but happy female voice. Billy's limited vision was soon invaded by the form of his mother. " Easy dear, move slowly, very slowly ".

Billy tried to talk but only frog like grunts came out of him, his throat was dry as a desert and his eye still adjusting to the light. " Hold on, let me get you some water ". His mother said after helping him into a seating position, Billy heard movement and soon a plastic cup with the precious liquid was presented to him. " Slowly, ok? No rushing ". Billy nodded but soon gulped the cup down.

After a few minutes getting his thoughts back and remembering the reason why he was hurting Billy finally started conversation. " Hi mo-mom ".

His mother smiled and hugged him with a few tears in her eyes, the hug was soft and very cautiously but Billy still grunted under it, the mother quickly released him. " Sorry dear, I forgot that your gonna be sore for quiet a while, you took a nasty hit in your back and head, nothing dangerous but the doctor recommended that you need a good amount of recovery before going back to normal ".

Billy rested back on his bed, be then, a question surged. " Mom? How long have a been in here? ".

" Mmh, almost three days I think, I got here yesterday and your Grampa told me that you were brought the day before ". His mother told him after thinking carefully.

" Thr-three days? Twilie! My egg! The red colt! ". Billy tried to stand but pain put him down faster that his mother could.

" Son, careful, you got to calm down, don't worry about your little friends, they are ok in the PokePon center, I was planning in pick them up today anyway ". His mother reassured him.

" Thanks Mom, I... I'm sorry ". Billy said calming down.

" It's ok son, although honestly I'm a bit scared of how I found you, your father was dead worried too, almost wanted to drop that investigation of his and come running riding Shinny! ". The mother said with a chuckle at the end.

" Dad riding Shinny? Somehow I can see that ". Billy said copying his mother's expression.

" The old man was worried too you know so is Muffins ".

" Muffins I believe, but Gramps? ".

" Billy... Your Grampa... he had a hard life, he had some heavy stuff happening to him and the dead of your Grandma threw him even deeper into his depression and loneliness, by this point the relationship with your father wasn't good either, all those things combined changed him but not once did he stopped loving his family ". Billy heard and new that must was true. He could still remember those nice times with him.

" But then, why is he like this now? ".

" Your Grampa lost a lot of his Goodwill when must of his friends turned on him and laughed at him, even some who were very close to him, then your father too didn't wanted to follow in his footsteps ". His mother told him early.

" So that's it? I want to become a PokePon trainer and he gets mad because I didn't wanted to become a researcher like him? ".

" There may be more to it that we think Dear, but he cares about you, about all of us, in his own crazy old man grumpy way ".

" So what then? ".

" We keep him close, and don't give up on him, and maybe he'll go back to his crazy and less grumpy self ". Billy couldn't hold down a snort.

" Sure, I'll try ".

" Mmh, good boy ".

When the conversation finished a knock in the door was heard. " Excuse me, ah! I see young Billy is up now, good good ". The doctor strolled in followed by a white made PokePon with pink mane and a nurse hat on top.

" So tell me son, how do you feel? ".

" Hurt and hungry, mostly ".

" I see, good sings, pretty good, anyway, the results are up and we have a few more things to go through before we can let you go, while the damage you received in the head wasn't so bad the one in the back is a bit more worrying, we'll keep you here until tomorrow and from there you'll need a couple of days to rest before you can be out in the wild again ".

" Tha-that long? ".

" I'm afraid so, it is necessary in order for you to be ready, I was told that you were just about to start your PokePon training right? More reason to recover completely before heading out, all in all you'll need 4 to 5 days ".

" That's... fine, if it is for the better ".

" Good lad, don't worry, you'll be traveling around from place to place in no time! ".

" Nun-nun! ". The white PokePon called to the doctor.

" Oh yes, sorry nurse Redheart, ok then, please make sure that you rest properly, I'll come and check with you later again ".

The doctor received thanks from both Billy and his mother. " Oh, almost forgot, your friends came to check on you, there were 2 boys and 3 girls, they wanted to see you and wish you well ".

" Really? Wow, those guys, I'll have to thank them somehow ".

" About that, unfortunately you may not see them again for a while, your Grampa told me that tomorrow morning they are suppose to depart in their journey ".

Billy's heart sunk, he wanted to start the journey along them but now he was stuck behind. " I see, still, maybe I'll come across them later ".

" I'm sure you will honey, now then, I'll leave you to rest, tomorrow I'll bring your PokePon with me so that you can have more company ".

" Thanks Mom... Wait, my PokePon you said? But I only have Twilie and the egg, what other PokePon are you talking about? ".

" Umh, well, a Twilight Sparkle, a Macintosh and a Timberwolf were where they found you, aren't they all yours? ".

" I... Well, I captured the Timberwolf after he was wounded, but the red, I mean the Macintosh didn't run away? ".

" I don't know the full details but I know he stood by your side, hence why he's with Twilie, the Timberwolf thought, he's at the lab with your Grandpa's, he told me that it was too wild to be kept near the other ones so he took it ".

" I see, well, bring them in tomorrow, I have to thank him for saving me twice ".

" Will do son, now rest, I'll see you tomorrow ".

" Thanks Mom, love you ".

" Love you too Dear ". After his mother left, Billy tried to think about his situation now, it made him happy to be alive and getting well but he was saddened by the hold up in his journey as well as missing the chance to start it with everyone, still, if the Macintosh wanted to stay with him that would be awesome, yawning, Billy out the thoughts aside and tried to sleep.

DICKSON'S LAB...

Professor Dickson observed the Timberwolf with intrigue, Muffins ready by his side in case the former wild PokePon wanted to have a go at him, but alas, it was all but confused and shaking like a leaf, which was funny since its body had some of them attached. " Are you sure you feel it? ". Asked the professor to his loyal companion.

" Doo! ". Responded Muffins, sure of her answer.

" But you're sure is not Celestia the one you're feeling? This could be trick ".

" Doo Doo! ". The gray pegasus shook her head in a negative and again exclaimed that the presence she felt was different.

" Murky, cold, like dark? ". The mare nodded. " But you say that it's gone now ". A nod again. " Could it be...? No, that's just some cheap ass tale Celestia came up with to make me work for her, still... ". The professor observed the Timberwolf again, he knew this PokePon was wild and troublesome even after capture, even so they would rarely set a splinter in human territory since they were smart enough to know how humans reacted to them, yet this one tried and succeeded in harming his grandson, at the thought, some of his more repressed emotions came to the surface, it would be a pleasure for him to let Muffins beat the crap out of the wooden bastard and turning its body into a rocking chair for daring hurting his grandkid. With a sigh he pushed those thoughts back, the beast wasn't fully guilty apparently.

" Fine, let see if we can uncover something more, I know you don't want to hurt it too badly but let's see if a little shock therapy can make it remember how and why did it attacked Billy, should we? ".

" Doo? ".

" Nothing serious, just a few zaps and bolts here and there, even if it doesn't remember anything that will soft it up for Billy when he take it with him, after all, it's pretty rare for a novice trainer to capture a level 20 PokePon, it will definitely come in handy ". The professor said with a Shadow on his face.
