Tyr, prince of Griffonia and the rightful heir to his father's throne, reflects over his life. He thinks over the years before the war, before his father earned the title of "mad king". Could he have stopped it? Could he have saved his father? Could he have destroyed the Idol before it caused so much damage? All these thoughts blend in with the memories of a griffon that ceased to exist many months ago, replaced with a fake. All of these thoughts are brought to light as the rest of the kingdom celebrates his rise to power. They want a kind king, a wise king. Yet as Tyr looks out over the masses and thinks about the crown resting upon his father's throne he can only focus one thing in his head.

"Am I a disappointment to you, father?" He wonders, but there is no longer someone there to answer him.

(This story takes place six weeks after the battle for Canterlot. There are only mentions of Starswirl and the princesses. They are not a part of this story.)
