Unearthing a Sparkling Romance

The moderator of ultimareuniverse.tumblr.com has graciously allowed me to use the characters and world from their Unity is Alchemy currently (at the time I’m writing this) under ‘Indefinite Hiatus’. I can relate. Even as good and well thought out a project can be, you have to walk away for days or weeks or months or even years to allow the inspiration to return. I hope they take up the story eventually.

As to the world: It’s an anthro alternative universe where the mane 6 are there but as the moderator puts it: Different lives. Different attitudes. Same interests.

Perhaps if I continue this in the future, I will go into more detail of the differences. As to background characters, some of the differences are hinted at.

They do later discover another type of crystal mirror that allows them to travel to the MLP:FIM (anthro) universe. It opens for a limited time every 10 moons. But for now, that part is unimportant.

As far as the denizens of this world, I’ll do a quick introduction in the form of an illustration to see the differences and to Identify their counterparts.

Left to right: Ivory (Rarity), Sparkling Cider (Applejack) Stardust Nova (Twilight Sparkle), Prism Wing (Rainbow Dash), Cottontail (Fluttershy) and Ink Blots (Pinkie Pie).
From their postures, you can get a picture of their personalities. They are almost the opposite temperaments and personalities as the MLP:FIM universe.

Secondary characters are the MCM (Manehattan City Mavericks) Left to right: Plume (Scootaloo and that is a toothpick), Apple Spritzer or Spritz (Apple Bloom) and Marble (Sweetie Belle). I am going to take a road with them that probably wasn’t thought of by the blog’s moderator. I am taking artistic license.
