Children Of Madness

"Please stop! What's going on!?" Celestia struggles as she is being dragged into a puddle that shines red in the light of a crimson blood moon. Around her, she sees so many corpses of ponies, dragons, yacks, changelings and all. Slaughtered and rotting around her as she screams as see through human hand sink their curved nails into her skin and drag her deeper and deeper. Just as Celestia's head is about to be pulled under she sees before her, not a man but a beast. He stands before her horns growing out of his head three black eyes with red glowing in the center, his jagged sharp-toothed grin smiling at her as she sinks further and further, it was fear that stood before her with a smile to fit the devil himself.

with her eyes and snout seconds away from being put inside the blood filled puddle, she has tears of dread and fear as she sees him standing before her with the blood moons light shining on his blood-soaked hands. Celestia pulled down in a sea of blood drowning further and further down her vision getting darker as she hits the bottom where skeletal ponies go to her dragging her into the ground with her till she screams under water.

"No!", Celestia wakes up in cold sweat. She stands and trots fast to her mirror and checks herself as she is filled with fright and her hooves shake. Luna bursts in and she looks at Celestia with eyes widen and tears running down her cheeks. The moonlight shines in the room, the hug each other. Both alicorns hearts beat almost out of there chest as they try and calm each other down.

Luna says to Celestia her voice shaking "What was that sister? I have never seen a nightmare so powerful, or so terrible."

Celestia looks at her and says with a sigh, "It was no nightmare, but a warning. A horrid demon that once slaughtered, tortured, and caused so much hate, anger, rage, and bloodlust in our kingdom. Far madder then discord."

Luna with confusion looked at Celestia trying to piece it together in her mind. Celestia stands as she goes to the door and Luna follows her down the halls, past doors. Going deeper and deeper into the castle until they reach the lowest part of the castle. Eight statues surround the room they enter, Celestia's horn glows as the floor beneath them moves down as they are elevated down into a massive underground labyrinth of diamonds, gems, and markings carved into the rock and stone so long ago.

Luna looks at Celestia as they walk down the path in this labyrinth and asks, "Sister what was that demon and where are we going?". Celestia stops and looks down.

Celestia says with sadness in her voice, "His name is Fear. When our battle was over I made a scientific team in a lab to study and figure out how one turns evil. He was born out of hate, anger, all negative energy." They continue down the corridors of this maze. till they reach a large door with markings engraved in the door made of stone.

Luna asks, "What happened?". Celestia with tears in her eyes looks down and then looks at the doors.

Finally, Celestia takes a breath and says, "He escaped using the power of his mind and these invisible hands in his back, he made the scientists and guards turn on each other killing themselves and each other thinking they were attacking monsters but in reality, it was an illusion thanks to Fears powers."

Celestia's horn glows as the markings glow and the doors slide open. The sisters enter and torches light themselves burning crimson red. In the center of the room stands a podium that holds a crimson red crystal skull, horns on its scalp, three eye sockets and fangs that shine by the glow of the fire.

Celestia goes up to it as Luna's legs start to shake the closer she got to it, she can feel the power coming from this skull and the fear running down her spine and shaking in her bones. Luna looks at Celestia and then back at the skull and says, "I feel his power even in this state, how did you beat something this powerful? Did you use the elements?".

Celestia with a sigh she shakes her head and says, "No I used the elements on him but he blocked the beam with his hand like it was nothing but water. Sadly I couldn't beat him, but a good friend gave me a spell that holds him in a prison of his own.". Celestia looks at the skull.

Luna looks at it and the hairs on her back start to stand up. Luna looks at Celestia and asks, "Sister you said you didn't beat him, it's clear you beat him from this. So what do you mean?".

Celestia with sadness in her voice she says, "The spell isn't permanent, every thousand years I must do the spell to keep Fear in his prison, and that day is coming, three days I must do the spell. If I do not do the spell before the third day at sunrise the spell is broken and he will be released to continue what he started all those years ago."

"What was he going to do?". Luna asks Celestia as they both stare at the skull.

Celestia looks at Luna with tears in her eyes and says, "He was going to drown this world in madness and bloodlust. In his words my rule is over and if i did not beat him he would have taken my soul then yours and ruled Equestria in eternal blood and madness. This I could not let happen.".

Both Celestia and Luna leave the room as Celestia locks the door and they return to the surface in the castle. Luna looks at Celestia one last time before returning to her work and asks, "Sister If fear ever escapes. Would Twilight and her friends stop this beast? Is there any hope they will stop him and beat him?".

Celestia stops and without looking she answers, "I don't know sister. Fear is intelligent and strong, I got lucky when I beat him and I had helped to beat him. I don't know if there is any chance if he gets out again.".

Luna puts her head down as she is about to walk away Celestia says, "Although, who knows what time will show us, I do wish and hope that Twilight and her friends can finish what I failed to do so many years ago.".

Celestia and Luna go there separate ways as Luna goes back to do her job and Celestia goes back to sleep but what Luna said stuck in her head like a broken record that strikes a cord in her heart. If Fear escaped, it's almost like a blade cut her heart every time she heard that. Celestia looks in the mirror and sees her self and says, "He will not escape, I made a promise to Silver. And I tend to keep it.". Celestia drifts off to sleep.
