The blue pegasus was the fastest of the two, and was flying around at a fast pace, her rainbow mane blowing behind her as she flew. She slows to a stop to see if the other pegasus was behind her. She can be really slow! She thinks, smirking slightly. She spotted the other pegasus pony, as she recognized the flash of white and blue right away. The white pegasus flew next to the blue Pegasus, her blue mane with a lighter coloured streak settling over one of her magenta eyes. The blue pegasus smirks. "I thought I lost you!" The white pegasus smiles. "Not a chance Rainbow Dash!" Rainbow Dash flies in a circle around the white pegasus pony. She seemed like a pegasus, though there was something different about her. She had... a magical aurora to her. "Come on Comet Fire! Lets see if you can do better!" Rainbow Dash grins, looking to her friend. Comet Fire smirks, a hint of competitiveness sparking in her eye. "With pleasure!" Comet Fire spreads her wings as she starts to fly straight upwards. Rainbow Dash watches her, confused. What's she trying to do? The white pegasus then started to spiral down ward, her speed continually increasing. Rainbow Dash watches as she makes a spiral sonic boom, the force from the stunt pushing Rainbow Dash back slightly. Rainbow Dash stares blankly at the sight. "...Never seen that before." Comet Fire flies up, hovering next to Rainbow Dash. "Eheh... I didn't know I could do that..." Rainbow Dash puts her arm around Comet Fire. "That was pretty neat! Now watch this!" She unhooks herself from Comet Fire and zooms across the sky, making a sonic rainboom within a matter of seconds. Comet Fire stares wide-eyed at her friend, her mouth slightly agape. Rainbow Dash smirks, watching Comet Fire's reaction. "Never seen a sonic rainboom before?" Comet Fire slowly shakes her head as Rainbow Dash flies down beside her, chuckling lightly. "Well, now you've seen one. Pretty awesome, right?" Comet Fire shakes her head, looking back to the rainbow coloured pony. "Come on, lets get back to practicing!" They practiced for what seemed like hours, both were tired when they finished. They decided to rest on a cloud, Rainbow Dash flopping down onto the large cloud. "That... was... amazing!" She panted. Comet Fire laid down beside Rainbow Dash. "Yeah... it was." Rainbow Dash lays down on her back and closes her eyes. "We'll practiced more tomorrow..... Hey you think I'll ever be good enough to join the Wonderbolts?" Comet Fire gives a small smile. "Of course you will! You just need a teeny tiny bit more practice!" Rainbow Dash smiles, pleased to hear her friend's positive point of view. "Thanks, Comet." Comet Fire grins. "No problem, Dash!" A comfortable silence overtake the two as they lay on the cloud, watching the clouds higher above them pass by, feeling the refreshing breeze blow through the air. Comet Fire blinks slightly in confusion when she spots something strange. "Hey what's that?" She chirps, pointing up towards the object. Rainbow Dash opens her eyes and looks to where Comet Fire was pointing. It looked like a cloud but... it was pure black, not grey like a normal rain cloud. Rainbow Dash cocks her head slightly in confusion. "It looks like... a cloud." Comet Fire flies up into the air. "I'm gonna go check it out." Rainbow Dash watches as her friend flies up to the cloud, confused. Then she heard something. Thunder. It came from right above them. Thunder could only mean.... "COMET!!! WAIT !!!!" But it was too late. The lighting struck Comet Fire, and just as fast as it came, both the cloud and Comet Fire disappeared, as if they never existed. Panic strikes Rainbow Dash, she immediately races toward the library. "TWILIGHT!!!!!" She bursts through the door and into a book shelf, knocking all of the books in it down on top of her. "Rainbow Dash?" She hears a mare's voice. Rainbow Dash shakes the books off of her head and looks the purple unicorn in front of her. "Twilight!" Twilight looks at her, confused. "Rainbow do you need-" She looks at Rainbow Dash and sees the panic in her eyes. "Rainbow..." Her voice shook as she talked, she knew if Rainbow Dash was scared, something horrible had happened. "...What happened?" Rainbow dash springs up into the air as she panics. "IT'S COMET FIRE!!!! SHE'S GONE!!!!" //-------------------------------------------------------// New Friends //-------------------------------------------------------// New Friends Comet Fire slowly wakes up in what feels like a hospital bed. Everything was dark, quiet mummers echo through the room. She soon notices her eyes were covered by a bandage, causing her to become confused. She hears voices. Six colts. This fact only makes her more confused. "Will she be alright?" "What happened?" "Not sure, she fell out of the sky and her eyes were bleeding. They kind of looked as if they had been burned some how." "Good thing you caught her, or she might been in worse shape then she already is." "The doctor said she should wake up any day now." They continued to talk. Three left. Then one left. Two stayed behind. She hears hoofsteps. "Doctor!" The voice that spoke was soft and quiet. The colt reminds Comet Fire of Fluttershy. "How is she?" "She'll be fine." The voice that spoke was a mare's voice. "She'll be able to go home once she wakes up, though she'll have to keep the bandages around her eyes for a few more days." "O-oh... But we don't know where she lives o-or if she has any family to take care of her." "Then one of you will have to take care of her while she has the bandages on. Now if you'll excuse me, I have other patients to attend to." Hoofsteps indicate that the mare had left. The other colt spoke, reminding Comet Fire of Rainbow Dash. "Ugh, fine! I'll take her home." "Rainbow Blitz! You can't take her to your cloud home!" Rainbow Blitz... Comet thought. That's one name down. "And why not?" Rainbow Blitz sounds annoyed. The other colt spoke calmly. "Because she's blind right now! What if she falls off of a cloud?" "She has wings! She can use them!" "But how will she know where the cloud is? I'll take her to my cottage, it's on the ground and safe for her to walk around in." "Fine." Rainbow Blitz sounds really annoyed by this. Comet Fire shifts a bit, groaning slightly as the pain from her eyes finally sets in. "Hey she's awake!" Comet Fire felt one of them nuzzle her, as if they were trying to comfort her. "It's okay. Come on, I'll take you to my home." "A-alright." Comet Fire replied. She felt a tail brush against her face. "Here, grab my tail and I'll lead you home." Gently, Comet Fire bit down on the tail. Slowly, she is guided by the strange pony, her ears twitching as she listens to noises pass her. She listens as the pony checks her out of the hospital, eventually being guided out of the building. She gasps lightly, suddenly feeling the ground lift away from her hooves, she guessed that one of them put her on his back. "Come on! This is taking too long!" It was Rainbow Blitz. "I'll carry her there!" She felt herself rising into the air as they started to fly, feeling the other colt gently brush beside her, making sure she doesn't fall off. "H-hi. I-I'm Butterscotch." Comet Fire smiles a little. "My name is Comet Fire." "Rainbow Blitz." Rainbow Blitz remarked. "Pleasure to meet you." Comet Fire greets politely. Comet Fire felt herself gently slide off of Rainbow Blitz's back. "Here. I'll check up on her tomorrow, I have to go." Butterscotch puts his wing around Comet Fire to help guide her. "Alright Blitz!" Butterscotch leads Comet Fire inside the cottage, and into one of the bedrooms. "Here, you can stay here for now." Comet Fire smiles. "Thank you." "I-I'll leave you to get settled." Comet Fire hears hoofsteps leaving the room, noting Butterscotch was now gone. She slowly makes her way to the bed, laying down on it. She thinks for a moment, trying to process what had happened to her. Butterscotch is a really nice pony! But... I thought my friends would have been here to help me... //-------------------------------------------------------// Similarities //-------------------------------------------------------// Similarities Rainbow Blitz was annoyed by Butterscotch as he flew through the air. Comet is a peagsus for ponies sake! She belongs in the clouds! Though, he did have to admit, the yellow pegasus had a point. She would be safer on the ground until her eyes healed. Comet Fire looked a lot like another pony, but he couldn't figure out who. It didn't matter. What mattered was getting back to Cloudsdale, he had promised a practice session with one of his friends. The blue pegasus flew as fast as he could to Cloudsdale, and landed at his house. He went inside, expecting his friend to be inside, though he saw nopony. "Meteor! Where are you?" Rainbow Blitz called out. No answer. Meteor Shower must not be here yet. Rainbow Blitz's ear twitches at the sound of wings. He turns around to see a white pony with a blue mane, a light colour streaking through it. "Sorry I'm late Blitz! But I was helping Bubble Berry bake some sweets!" Rainbow Blitz smiles. "It's alright Meteor!" I just-" Rainbow Blitz stops short as he stares at Meteor Shower. He looked exactly like Comet Fire. Meteor Shower looks at Rainbow Blitz, raising a brow in confusion. "Something wrong?" Rainbow Blitz shake his head. "No! Let's get going!" Rainbow Blitz races out of his cloud home. Meteor Shower follows him closely, confused by his friends actions. Rainbow Blitz glances to the white pegasus. Why do they look so alike? Meteor doesn't have a sister! ....Does he? Rainbow Blitz knew the young colt knew nothing about when he was younger, but the similarities... "Hey... uh... Meteor?" "Yeah?" "You don't have a sister... Do you?" Meteor Shower looks at him. "No, I don't." "You sure?" Meteor Shower gave Rainbow Blitz the "I-know-more-about-myself-than-you" look. "I have traveled all over Equestria, if I had a sister, I would have met her in my travels and gone to live with her instead of living in Ponyville." Rainbow Blitz was even more confused by his answer. "Alright, just wondering." Comet Fire waits patently as Butterscotch wraps a new bandage around her eyes, letting out a sigh. "How long am I supposed to wear this?" She could hear him tear and bandage and felt him carefully clip it to the rest of the bandage around her eyes. "The doctor said for two weeks at least. We don't know if you'll be able to see again, though." Comet Fire sighs. She would like to see again. See her friends, her home. See the new friends she's made. She hears Butterscotch pick up something. "I have to go into town and get a few things, I'll be back soon." Comet Fire looks to where the voice came from. "Can I come with you?" Butterscotch sighs. "Not today. You still need rest. I'll take you the day after tomorrow, alright?" Comet Fire hesitates, but nods. "Alright." She hears the door open and close gently, knowing he had left. She carefully walks to her room, laying down on her bed. Tonight was the night. The night Nightmare Moon became Princess Luna. Her tradition. Comet Fire messes with her mane, making sure her horn was hidden. She looks to where she thinks the window is over her bed, hoping that she was facing the sky, not looking at one of the walls trapping her inside the cottage. For tonight, she shall fill the sky with shooting stars.
