This is my FIRST fic! maybe a small set to get in the game. I would appreciate criticism! It was quickly jotting down as I didn’t want to forget it before I go to bed. Enjoy what this may become. I try to make it a partly omniscient view but this is where I have troubles, bear with me as I try to improve my skills. I will improve! Now being a wip some details may be askew or missing, or you may find it clichéd possibly uninteresting or overplayed but I assure you this will be a very fine, unique story with dark magic and interdimensional beings(how every I make that happen)I apologise in advance for any loathing you have after. First attempt at a decent story.
Prelude
Twilight wasn’t sure how an unscheduled thunderstorm could just ‘SHOW UP’ without the Pegasus’s permission. But what could she do about it, especially in THIS strong a storm. Just as a squall made her tree house creek disturbingly generously she quivered and thought if the top would rip off or be uprooted somehow.
This only made her more anxious about the storm. She figured maybe a cup of tea would steady her hooves enough that she could get to sleep. As she was preparing the pot, filling it with water, and cup, taking it from a cupboard, she saw night through a small window turn nearly to day! She would have expected the thunder that was to come if it wasn’t so tremendously emphatic in breeching the walls, her nerves stood no better. With a sharp fracture as glass hit ground and dispersed and a loud EEPPP emanating from the unicorn as she dove for cover anywhere it seemed she might be safe.
The sound was petrifying ear-splitting raucous, scaring the mare right off her high roost. She didn’t know why but this storm was actually a bit scary and getting to her a bit. She thought this was a surprisingly strong unscheduled storm and why nothing was being down about it being so out of hand. Realizing her WASENT in any immediate danger she proceeded out from under a table. Still shocked by the sudden apparent explosion in the sky she looks out the small kitchen window to realize a small part of the horizon was aglow. Realizing this was a fire problem set off by this astronomical crash. Even when it’s raining these fires could spread if initially big enough, and she felt she needed to make sure this wouldn’t get out of control.
Setting out the door with gumboots, a rain jacket, and her magic she approached the edge of the ever free forest, quickly, where the bolt seemed to have struck. She couldn’t tell if it was a good idea to go in alone with just her magic to protect her and without telling anypony, even spike who was actually asleep the whole time. As she contemplated if the fire would actually get out of hand and turning back a sharp cry for help made her ears perk straight up and without hesitation she galloped ferociously into the dark green void toward the distressed pony. If only she knew how much of a toil she was getting herself into.
End of prelude, now an intro!
I was riding home after a late visit to a friend’s house. I still had ample amounts of energy, as im, actually, normally very athletic and competitive. I’ll take any trail or bush path rapidly, avoiding the obstacles and still moving fast made me have to respond quickly or id crash. Id push myself normally to heighten my senses, and improve my endurance but this night was testing them. I stood up on the peddles to better force my weight down to better speed up. My velocity increased, much to my delight, more than it seemed like normally. As I round a right corner narrowly missing a telephone pole on the left then a sing grazing my right side. I shot past obstacles faster than I thought I should at night, bushes and buildings flew past much to by delight as a blurring speed. Flying faster than I could dare myself, normally, down the street, I was covering lots of ground, but not fast enough.
It felt awesome to cruse speedily around felling the cool night air tousle my long lions mane like mop top to tangles. How each telephone pole whooshed past sending a large blast of the cool air across my body. My shirt felling as if it might get torn if it snaps around anymore briskly. About to slowdown as I found myself getting just a wee bit remorseful about my rapid transit over the hard bitumen. The flash serving as a frightening reminder why I was speeding along, my heart skipped a beat. It’s supposed to be quite exhilarating witnessing the power of nature, but it wasn’t, it was more of a terror, because this didn’t seem natural. I never have recalled lightning this persistent in one single area, a giant cloud forming the ceiling right overhead from which the lightning poured. Over and around me it seemed to be where it was striking. Over and over again the time between the awe inspiring flash and ear splitting booms seemed to more closely match.
Whatever was happening up there seemed to make me outright scarred for my life. How and why I thought this ordinary summer thunderstorm was actually threating my life, I did not know. I knew the chance I was more conducting then any of the other billion things around me, was very slim. I wasn’t ready for death, I still had many aspirations in this word, things I wanted to do even though most were unlikely to happen. I wanted a good job, a car, to be at home. I hadn’t wanted to realize it seemed like this storm was chasing me or tracking me down. I hadn’t wanted it to scare me so, for this shouldn’t. I hadn’t wanted to hear a reverberant crack as I saw a blinding flash as a tree hanging over the road was shot from its perch and sent plummeting in front of my path.
This wasn’t a normal storm in any case; firsthand experience of a lightning strike, overhead electrical gymnastics setting off barrages and forks so close and large, and it had frightened me to such a degree as I was using adrenaline as the catalyst for this escapade.
I continued, swerving around my obstacle with relative ease, back on my path of safety and freedom or side walk I ducked under a tree hanging low over a portion of side walk, with two fast fwoops as leaves gingerly graze the top of my head. Only to be blinded and deafened by a frighteningly terrible pop too terrible and sickly to describe. next thing I knew everything that was logical, was being bombarded with questionable bright colors compared to what I was so used too, seeing unfamiliar plants and flowers particularly lush, and a lavender figure perched in a bizarre manner with bizarre features and an even more bizarre glow emanating from her forehead. Too much illogicalness and pain swimming together didn’t let me stay conscience to much longer. With a wheeze as I was about to utter something about what’s making that glow. I passed out
