"And you are quite sure you will not need me around during the break?" Celestia asked as she finished packing away her things for her trip. It was rare she ever got to leave school early but since it was a half day and spring break was right around the corner? She figured why not take a little time for herself and get a jump on things early though as a big sister would always be? She was worried about her little sister and what she would do for the weekend.
"Yes Tia for the hundredth time I will be fine watching the house while you are away with your friends in Las Pegasus. You've been working hard and deserve some free time to let your hair down and have some fun" Luna said as she stood at the door with a clipboard in one hand and her cell phone in the other that she was using to keep a track of the time as well as social media since the school day was all but over and most of the students had gone home.
"I know you insisted on watching the house again but you know I could easily just get one of the girls to watch it for us or even Cadence. I am sure they wouldn't mind if you wanted to go and enjoy some outdoor time yourself. You spend far too much time inside little sister" Celestia said with a chastising tone toward her little sister.
Luna gave a light pout and scoffed "I'm a lady of the night and you know this. Most of my 'fun' is had when the sun isn't up it is just often hard finding someone willing to burning the midnight hours away with." Luna said pouting still blowing some of her hair out of her face. Many of her other friends who were teachers didn't share in her idea of fun and were all to 'professional'
"Well I am sure in time you will find someone to spend your evenings with-" Celestia gave a cheeky smirk to her sister. "Because goodness the moaning you do at night sometimes is a bit much Luna."
Luna sputtered and nearly dropped her cell phone as she shot a glare at her troll of an older sister who merely giggled at her flustered expression. "Oh ha ha very funny Celly, still ever the troll" Luna said with a huff as she composed herself and then looked at her sister with a slightly cross look. "And I will have you know that it hasn't been for a lack of trying you know my preferences are....difficult; to obtain." Luna said with a shameful look on her face as it was a touchy subject for her.
Celestia sighed and knew this might have come up if she made that kind of joke but she was hoping her sister would have grown past this. Obviously not. "Luna I know you are still struggling with those feelings but you must let them pass and trust and interact with people more your age; while I know it is difficult for you being your age but looking so young? You must remember that we are adults and there are certain boundaries we cannot cross; understood?" Celestia gave her tone a hint of seriousness knowing that she needed to be a stern but loving pillar of support for her little sister.
Luna sighed and nodded. She knew her sister was right even as much as she wished she could for once be wrong. Luna and Celestia while middle aged looked very good for their individual ages with Celestia pushing 50 and Luna having just hit her 40's. Celestia had always been the kind, wise and nurturing big sister while Luna had always been the reserved cold but sweet and strict kind of little sister that needed her big sisters guidance but was desperate to prove she could do things on her own and do them better than her sister which many years ago led to some rather 'unfortunate' events to occur that split the two sisters up for 10 years.
"Yes. I understand and I am past that alright? It was almost 20 years ago Celestia and I had just gotten my affinity for drinking and well...you know the rest" Luna wished not to recount the events but wanted assure her sister she had changed since then and wouldn't make the same mistake twice.
To be fair though? The girl she ended up sleeping with LOOKED like she was 21 with hips and a chest like that! Than and Luna was a sucker for geeks and that little cutie was irresistible with those glasses on!
"Yes I do and we will discuss it no further." Celestia took a small breath and exhaled regaining her normal cheeriness. "So what ARE you going to do? Spend all day locked in your rooms with your games till the moon comes up?" Celestia said in a teasing manner having never quite gotten the appeal behind the games her sister liked but then again it did help curb her anger and also relax her after they got home from work so she didn't question it too much.
At that Luna gave a huff and rolled her eyes. "Everyone has an outlet Tia; you have your love of deserts and exotic teas and I have my video games" And the night club but she doesn't necessarily need to know about that.
"Really you should try and get out more sister; at the very least find a friend to play your games with. I am sure there are PLENTY of young, er middle-age..." Celestia was trying to pick her words carefully as she didn't wish to trigger her little sister as she was sensitive about mentions of her age considering how difficult it was to relate to anyone truly her own age.
"Look just try and have some company that is of your own age for once alright? It wouldn't kill you to branch out and try and be a little more outgoing Luna." Celestia said finally choosing to be just be straight with her sister, she wasn't one of her students so there was no need to try and be the usual wise elder she normally was.
With a sigh Luna nodded, she knew what her sister was saying was true and it wasn't like it came from nowhere. Luna played video games as much as she did because she primarily was lonely having not had many friends growing up and the few she did have either moved, fell in with a bad crowd or worse yet died while she was...away.
"I know sister and I will truly try and see if I can find any companionship during the break but being such short notice? I cannot make any promises to you or to myself and you know I have preferences and while there are plenty of young and even middle aged men in this city who play video games? I am not interested in 'playing' with them in the way you know I enjoy playing" Luna said trying to be as vague and aloof about the topic as possible.
Celestia sighed and finished packing away the things in her office and making sure everything was tidy. "Yes I know honestly I wish there was a way I could be of more help Luna."
"It's fine Celestia, you work the hardest out of the two of us with all the nonsense you deal with daily especially with all the magical happenings in the last year and a half. So go and enjoy your vacation, you deserve it."
"I do hope the girls are having a good spring break so far. Perhaps you can ask them for some hints and tips for what you may be able to do for fun during the break." Celestia suggested.
Luna pondered that for a moment and stroked her chin with a finger. "Hm yes you're correct sister those girls do often have a good idea on what to do for fun and if memory serves Sunset Shimmer is the veteran gamer of their group" It was at that moment a couple of thoughts began running through Luna's head and then she remembered something when referring to Sunset Shimmer.
'Young Sunset isn't quite as young as she appears. If memory serves? She's at least 2 years older than all her friends'
With a ghost of a smile on her face she turned to leave her sisters office and head towards her own as she had a quick announcement to make before the day was truly over and all the students had gone. She personally knew the Rainbooms had not left the school yet as she had overheard them playing a new song they'd developed in the band room before coming to her sister's office to check up on her.
"Pardon me sister I have some business to attend to. I'll see you at home to see you off." Luna said as she exited the room.
Seeing her sister leave the room she chuckled and shook her head as she could see EXACTLY where her little sisters train of thought was going and she couldn't help but giggle as she couldn't argue with the logic she assumed her sister was using. "You never learn little sister but at least this time you can say for certain she's of age."

Luna's office
Entering her dim-lit almost pitch black office that felt cool as she entered since she always had the AC on as she enjoyed the cool air on her skin as it reminded her of the night air. Walking over to her desk she sat down and cleared her throat thinking about which version of her vice principal voice to use. She didn't want to use the 'You are in so much trouble' voice because she didn't wish to startle Sunset Shimmer however she also didn't wanna use the 'There might be a magical crisis' voice either because again she didn't want to freak Sunset out.
With a shrug she simply decided to go with her gut. Pressing the PA system she would broadcast her voice through the school halls. "Sunset Shimmer please report to my office before you leave for the day. Thank you."
As she removed her finger from the PA system she sat and waited and wondered just how she would go about this. She hadn't had to 'entice' anyone in quite awhile. Not since she was 21 years old and in college and the last time she'd done so successfully? The girl tried to pin her with rape. With a calm breath Luna would await Sunset to come in but just for good measure unbuttoned her blouse just enough to expose some of her cleavage just to see if she might be able to truly get the girls attention.
A moment later? A knock came at the door and she could tell it was Sunset by the outlined shadow behind the doors glass.
"Enter Ms. Shimmer. Fret not you are in no kind of trouble. I simply wish to ask you something." Luna said calmly as she noticed the knocking on the door was a bit tentative and hesitant. Her smile brightened when in stepped Sunset Shimmer with a calm and relaxed demeanor.
"Phew for a second there I thought I was in trouble" Sunset chuckled as she walked in, took a seat and put down her backpack.
Raising an eyebrow Luna replied with a smirk deciding to tease and grill Sunset a little. "Oh? SHOULD you be in trouble for something Ms. Shimmer? Hiding something are we?"
Sunset blushed and a few drops of sweat dripped from her forehead as she averted her gaze. "Pft what? Me? No what would make you think tha-"
Luna chuckled and ceased her teasing. "I joke Sunset; merely having fun with you as it were. But truly you are in no trouble. I wish only to ask what are your plans for Spring break and if you wouldn't mind doing your Vice Principal a favor."
Sunset instantly relaxed and smiled at Luna's request. "Oh! Well I didn't really have much planned to be honest. Rarity and Fluttershy are going on a spa getaway in Manehatten for the break, Rainbow is going extreme surfing...whatever that is. Pinkie Pie is going on a sister bonding trip with her three sisters and Twilight is going to spend the break at camp Everfree with Timber" Saying that last one sounded like it almost hurt Sunset to say as she frowned nay scowled at the idea that Twilight was leaving to spend time with that counselor boy from camp.
"So that just leaves me myself and I. Not too uncommon though, I'll just hang out at home with some video games, mess around on my gaming channel, binge some movies and anime. I love the girls and spending time with them but I am okay being by myself...sometimes" Sunset stated with a small sigh not entirely sure if she wanted to be alone during this break. Twilight being with Timber really got under her skin and she still mentally kicked herself for basically pushing them together.
Luna was no fool and could tell it well. Sunset Shimmer had feelings for Twilight Sparkle that she could not express because Twilight already had a mate. Luna understood her plight to an extent and wanted to truly help her and so processing all that the girl had said she would offer a kind smile.
"I see. Well then you are in luck Sunset Shimmer as I face a very similar situation."
Sunset looked at the vice principal puzzled. "Really?"
Luna would nod and sigh slightly. "Indeed. I personally don't have many friends. The person in the world I am closest to is my big sister and while I am friendly with the staff here? None of us really hang out after work. Sure once in awhile Cheerilee and I will go for coffee, tea or a glass of wine from time to time but its not like she comes over and has slumber parties with me or we go shopping. Truly I am envious of your amazing friendship Sunset."
Sunset blushed hearing this and wiggled in her seat a bit. "Not to sound conceited but you aren't the first to tell me or the girls that."
Luna chuckled. "Nothing conceited about it dear. You seven have a bond more tight and quite literally magical than any friendship that I can imagine exists in this world and that is saying a lot. I yearn for the days of my youth to have been gifted with friends as good as yours but well...not everyone is so lucky."
"Oh. I'm sorry"
Luna shook her head. "Don't be. It is a mistake of my own fault. Anyway that is not what I wished to bring you here to discuss. I would like to ask if you would like to spend some time with me during the break."
Sunset was taken aback by that and wasn't sure how to reply. "You mean like...hang out? At your house?"
Luna chuckled and nodded. "Yes that is the idea. Celestia is going away for the break leaving me to watch the house and I wish not to be alone and so I figured I would ask around to see if anyone wished to have a fun break with me."
Sunset smiled sheepishly and rubbed the back of her head. "Oh. Well um...wow uh...first things first I guess. What DO you do for fun? No offense but you never struck me as the 'fun for fun's sake' type."
Luna pouted adorably at that. "Hmph. How rude. I do too know how to have fun! I am just very...reserved."
Sunset blushed and chuckled a bit. "S-Sorry I didn't mean to sound mean."
"It's fine Sunset but back on topic; for fun I mostly enjoy reading, watching movies, swimming, painting and of course? Video games." Luna said rattling off her hobbies but she could tell the moment video games came out of her mouth she had Sunset hooked.
Sunset's eyes widened. "You're a gamer?!"
Luna smirked and nodded crossing her arms under her chest. "Proudly"
"What system you claim?" Sunset asked narrowing her eyes.
"PS4 is my main choice but I am not bias against Xbox One and I do love Mario Kart so I also have a Switch." Luna replied as she nonchalantly checked her black manicured nails casually.
"Correct" Sunset stated with a smirk of her own and now her posture was much more relaxed and confident as if to size Luna up. "So was this all just an elaborate plan to challenge me to a gaming match?"
Luna giggled and lidded her eyes in a playful manner. "Perhaps it was. Are you accepting of said challenge?"
Sunset looked at the time and then back to VP Luna smiling and then standing up. "Tell ya what? I'll come over tonight and we can play a few rounds and see if you can hang with the big girls. If you can? I'll spend the whole 2 weeks with you!"
Luna smiled and leaned back in her chair. "So you've thrown down the gauntlet hm? Well I can't possibly deny now can I?"
Smiling fully Sunset shook her head. "Nooope! You obviously have my cell phone number so call me when you are ready for me to come over. I need to go home and get some things and change."
Luna would nod in agreement. Getting up from her desk she guided Sunset out of her office happily.
"Then it is settled then! See you soon Sunset Shimmer. I'll be awaiting my brand new challenger to enter the ring" Luna said with a chuckle as she went back into her office and Sunset walked off.
"Then get set to get rekt because Shimmer is bringing the heat! You WILL praise the sun once I'm finished." Sunset said talking some well constructed gamer smack at Luna as she left to go and get home to get ready for the coming evening and as each woman thought about the coming nights events one thought was shared between them.
It's on bitch!
