In The End
Life Will Surprise You.
Load Full StoryThe sky was calm and silent, much like the land of Equestria had been for quite some time. After lifetimes of waiting for the end, it had finally arrived for the two Royal Sisters. Though if they had to be honest with themselves, they hadn't been royalty in a few thousand years.
The world around then had been taken back by nature and the cosmos, no cataclysm or armageddon had destroyed the earth or struck down ponykind. Neigh, the end as with most things came naturally.
Life just began to slow down, the world becoming calmer and quiet. Wars became less important, resources dwindling till nonexistent until one day everything just stopped. The sisters left behind to witness the end, much as they did for the beginning.
It wouldn't be much longer now, the sky once littered in bright shimmering stars, now a nearly blank canvas ready to be painted with beauty once more. Celestia could only raise the sun a few more times if she pleased, it's glowing rays of hope and beauty dimming into nothing.
The vast forest of The Everfree claiming the land for its own, trees towering over the world much like mighty giants, guardians of future generations of new creatures, who undoubtedly would claim this place for their own.
The world silent and the nights long, yet to a certain pony that was just fine. Celestia sat upon a large open hilltop in a content silence of happiness, soon the journey would be completed and the long overdue rest could begin.
Her multicolored mane stretching elegantly down her shoulders in vibrant waves of beauty, her coat clean and soft as fine silk, violet eyes enjoying the lovely night her younger sister created.
“Odd is it not?” Celestia giggled with a melodic tone to her voice, lifting a delicate hoof to her muzzle politely to hide a beaming smile.
Luna gave a feminine yawn into the near empty sky, her coat a shimmering night blue that was well kept and clean, mane having grown far more elegant with age as it flowed to the earth below in waves of transparent blue, sparkling with dark violet swirls of mist.
Her pale blue eyes locking upon her sister with curiosity and playfulness, the smaller alicorn soon cuddling up against her sister lovingly. Stroking her tiny muzzle against the swan like neck of Celestia, the older alicorn smiling as her large white wings pulled her sister closer in a tender embrace.
“What could be odd, about the end?” Luna gave a smirk as the warmth of her sister shielded her from the growing frost of the world around them.
“We spent a better part of our youth, bickering about the night and day.” Celestia sighed watching the last of the stars above recede back into the cosmos, leaving only a blank horizon.
“When both were equally as beautiful!” Luna giggled with a sense of happiness and somberness, her muzzle lifting up to kiss her sister's cheek.
“Even now sister, you're far too kind.” Celestia leaned down lower, locking her pouty lips with her sister's as they shared a long passionate kiss under the fading night.
“For it was your night, that brought beauty to my day.” Celestia broke the kiss with a smile, her little sister gazing up to her with tear soaked eyes.
The world rumbled underneath their hooves, as a icy chill cascaded across the land in a bitter wind of apathy. Luna whimpering with shivering hooves, cuddling extra close under her sister's wing for protection.
“Perhaps lift your sun, just one last time?” Luna began to sob aloud, crystalline blue tears falling to the dying earth delicately.
“Not this time, it's finally arrived.” Celestia gave a deep inhale of the fresh air around her, the mountain air never tasting as sweet.
“I don't know if I'm ready!” Luna began to feel panicked as fear struck her soul, her smaller body breaking out in icy trembles.
Celestia could just smile down to her frightened sister in tranquility, her calm hoof caressing Luna across her cheek tenderly. Lifting her delicate touch towards her mane, stroking through the silken strands with care and love.
“Do you trust me?” Celestia leaned forward, her forehead resting upon Luna's.
“Oh course!” Luna wept aloud with a wince.
“Then no need to fear, I'll be here the whole time.” Celestia gave a knowing wink, her muzzle nuzzling her sister's neck.
“May the night meet the day, just once more?” Luna sniffled aloud as her hooves wiped away her tears, Celestia nodding sweetly with a giggle.
“It'd be my honor!” Celestia lifted up to whisper a sweet nothing into her sister's ear, the blue alicorn cooing aloud as she rolled over onto her backside.
Celestia simply gave a smile in enchantment, her little sister had blossomed into a lovely mature creature of nightshade. The older alicorn lowering down to the earth slowly, reaching Luna's perfectly plump thighs giving each a deep soft kiss.
Luna sighing in gratitude aloud, feeling her sister suckling on her skin tenderly down her inner thigh. Taking her time to run her warm wet tongue across the edge of her waiting slit, allowing her sister to enjoy the blessings of life just one more time.
Celestia kissing back up the thick curves of her thighs, making sure to give a few devious nibbles along the way. Her silken hoof tracing up her long elegant legs gently, Luna biting her lower lip hard, knowing what was coming.
The older alicorn lifting a hoof high, smacking it down onto the plump backside of Luna with a loud pop. The smaller creature giving a loud whiny into the sky above, her older sister groping the round peach like shape of her backside.
Luna began to pant in growing pleasure, Celestia massaging the jiggling flesh of her sister's butt lovingly, giving it a few more firm spankings as Luna arched her hips forward. The older creature wrapping her sister in a cocoon of protection with large powerful wings, pulling her extra close ready to take her body completely.
Celestia kneeling down as she kissed the tight folds of her sister firmly, lapping a warm wet tongue over the slit with gentle care. Luna moaning in delight from above, her sister parting the sweet flesh of her opening and delving deeper.
White muzzle pushing ever closer against the beauty of the night, inhaling deeply to enjoy the sweet dainty fragrance of her little sister. Tongue pushing deep inside the temple, massaging her inner walls with care, mouth locking around the tight slit suckling deep if not gentle.
Luna winced with ecstasy as her body tried to pull away, the wings of the sun pulling her in closer not allowing the night to fade just yet. Wet sweet drops of nectar trickling down the inner walls, Celestia lapping up every drop with ease enjoying the sweet taste.
Lifting upward as her tongue traced over Luna's clit in a dainty loving manner, flicking the sensitive nub with a sharp flick of her tongue tip playfully. Glowing violet eyes drinking in the beauty of her sibling with satisfaction, purring aloud with delight as she rested her cheek upon the blue alicorn’s thigh.
“You've always been the light in my life dear sister.” Celestia kissed across the pelvic bone of the smaller alicorn, feeling her sister tremble with pleasure.
“I'm thankful you never left, when our time comes…” Celestia used her powerful wings to cradle and lift her sister to face level, gazing deep into the transparent blue abyss of her lovely eyes.
“You'll forever hold me close to your heart.” Both alicorns locked lips, delving deep into an embrace of the purest love.
Luna's tongue dancing across her sister's in a elegant display of passion, Celestia tugging the upper lip of her baby sister's muzzle, suckling with care upon the lower. Luna soon falling limp as her legs spread wide in acceptance, allowing her older sister to lower herself and claim her prize.
The world soon slowing to a crawl as the white coated princess kissed across the velvet slit tenderly, suckling the opening ever slowly, her dancing tongue caressing the inner folds with care.
Luna's body pulsing for more, her moans filling the night sky as she felt the nibbling of her wet clit, a warm tongue flicking and massaging her most inner walls. Her hooves curling back even as gentle slurps of ecstasy echoed around them, Celestia swirling her masterful tongue quicker yet softer.
Luna wincing with delight, her tiny hooves plunging her sister's muzzle deep into her waiting temple. Clinging tightly to Celestia's mane before screaming out in pleasure, her sister plunging her warm mouth deep into the intoxicating aroma.
Both moaning with mind numbing passion, Luna closing her eyes in a loss of thought. Her body echoing with wave after wave of love, Celestia content to moan delicately as she drank forth the night, lapping up the sweet release of her little sister.
For merely a moment, the world was calm.
If only for a moment.
The sky grew ever darker above, even as Luna embraced her older sister in silent awe. Both watching the few clouds left above evaporate into nothing at all, soon the heavens becoming bleak, dull and lifeless.
Luna swallowed the large lump caught in her throat, mind racing with words to be spoken. Yet her mouth could not formulate any sentence to fit their situation, the fear of the unknown creeping into her heart at full force.
The young alicorn watching as the land began to be plummeted into the abyss, large inky black shadows engulfing all color from the world like a blazing wildfire. The wind becoming chill and icy, the rolling hills of grass and flora wilting in place as they decayed back to the earth.
Even as she watched the world begin to die before her very eyes, Luna felt a familiar hoof tapping her shoulder ever so calmly. The wind billowing through Luna's mane elegantly, her muzzle lifting upward to catch a glimpse of her sister smiling.
“It won't be long now.” Celestia gave a deep sigh of relief, her hooves crossing daintily as she kneeled onto the dew ridden grass lazily.
“How can you be so calm!?” Luna felt the words fall from her lips suddenly, she knew her sister was wise and knowing yet could see no reason for her casual attitude.
“Why are you so scared?” Celestia raised a thin brow in reply.
“Because our world is ending!” Luna screamed at her sister's foolishness in growing rage, anxiety cascading over her slender frame in mighty waves.
“It only ends, after it has lived.” Celestia spoke with tranquility.
“Cry or scream, do anything!” Luna struggled to catch her breath out of fear, the world around her rumbling ever louder.
“Neigh.” Her sister refused both options, flaunting her hoof towards her sister flippantly.
Luna could only collapse onto the icy wet grass with despair, tears welling up within her eyes wildly. Her heart shattering into a thousand pieces of sorrow, truly she felt alone in her fear of the unknown. Her dear sister abandoning her near the end, when she needed reassurance the most.
Celestia letting her sister sob with a watchful eye letting out a gentle sigh, the alicorn scooping up her little sister in her hooves lovingly. Cradling the pony with a calming touch, Luna placing her ear upon her sister's chest silently, listening to the calming rhythm of her heart.
“You do not cry when a pony passes…” Celestia stroked the mane of her sister softly, Luna nodding in place as she searched her mind for the answer needed.
“We smile because the pony lived.” Luna felt the fear lift upward from her body suddenly, a feeling more lighter than air taking its place instead.
“So tell me sister, did you live?” Celestia asked a simple question.
“Indeed I did.” Luna watched the horizon blink out of existence, the abyss moving forward to claim its due silently.
“Did you laugh?” Celestia nuzzled her sister's cheek with a tender giggle, Luna cracking up in her hooves loudly.
“Of course I did sister, Everytime you cooked those silly breakfasts!” Luna teased her elder sister, earning a loud hearty giggle in return.
“Did you listen to the music?” Celestia spoke in a calming tone.
“Everytime you lifted the sun.” Luna blushed a light pink across her cheeks.
“Did you dance?” The white alicorn questioned with pure curiosity.
“Everytime we celebrated our blessings!” Luna gave a deep sigh of delight, flashes of Equestria's many celebrations dancing through her mind.
“Did you touch another's heart?” Celestia bit her lower lip gently, Luna beaming with beauty and radiance of a life well lead.
“Yes, I shared my wisdom and guidance.” Luna thought back to many ponies who she lifted nightmares out of their lives, creating many a cheerful dreamscape.
The world suddenly shifted underneath both ponies in a mighty quake of destruction, the sound of a collapsing landscape filling the pitch black sky above. A odd black swirl of red light beaming out from the cosmos, the wind blowing wildly as both alicorns locked gazes in absolute silence.
Luna smiling happily as her mane blew back wildly in the growing chaos, the final question to ask her sister echoing loudly in her mind, breaking free from the terror of the void and radiating brightly across her soul.
“Did you love?” Luna asked in a calm tone of acceptance.
Celestia flashed the brightest smile of her life after that question, a single tear rolling down her cheek slowly. Her hooves wrapping around Luna's in a knowing embrace, squeezing them tightly as she placed them over her heart.
The world exploding into a flash of white light, everything growing silent as the cosmos engulfed the last remnants of a dying planet. The abyss collecting the last rays of light, everything plunged deeply into the void.
For in the beginning was only silence.
And at the end was simply darkness.
The Begining.
Little Luna gazed down to her tiny hooves in sorrow, the cold winter wind nipping at her night blue coat roughly. The snow of this new land burning her hooves with an icy bite like no other, everywhere she visited with her sister was either frozen or dying.
No matter where they sought sanctuary it was already claimed by the growing frost, pastel blue eyes of the young filly locking upon the somber sight before her. Rolling hills of destruction and death lining the ground, ponies left out to be forgotten in this blizzard born of hate.
The skies a swirling mass of winds echoing through the land with a wicked hiss, was this truly the world that held promise, the glowing vibrant land her older sister spoke of in her dreams.
“It's not much now, but one day it'll be grand!” A older filly trotted up from behind her baby sister, her coat as white as the fresh powder around her, long pink mane nearly flowing to the ground elegantly.
“But the land is nothing but death, destruction and hate.” Luna sniffled aloud as a sharp cold wind ran through her wild blue mane, the sky growing bleak and grey above.
“Is that so?” Celestia gave a giggle pouncing forward across the snow, light as a feather her heart filled with the wonderment and innocence of childhood.
Luna watching in slight confusion as her older sister slid across the snow to a tiny lump of ice on the ground, beaming with excitement as she snorted out a large huff of steam from her nostrils.
“What do you see?” The white filly asked glancing upward, inviting her sister over, who locked her gaze upon the frozen ground indifferently.
“Nothing but earth, dead earth.” Luna scrunched her muzzle cutely, her sister giving a small huff of dissatisfaction.
“Look forward with faith.” Celestia spoke calmly, walking over to her sister giving her a tender nuzzle on the side.
Luna watched the setting closely with bright glowing eyes, watching with awe as the snow shifted from underneath. A tiny green sprout of life pushing out from the abyss around it, pressing towards the dim sky weakly at first but soon gaining strength.
Luna giggled aloud in utmost joy, the tiny plant overcoming the odds. Giving way to life even among the death, never giving up hope and keeping faith even on the bleakest hour. The tiny blue alicorn having a light ignited deep in her heart, one that flooded her tiny frame with warmth.
Present.
“You see dear sister, nothing ever truly dies.”
The land once known as Equestria stood silent in the void of darkness, everything that once glowed with light extinguished by the icy hoof of fate. Left to wilt, decay or simply be lost to the sands of time, a world once full of many possibilities now forever lost to the eons.
“As long as we keep our faith alive, life will not simply give up.”
The sky now completely empty with only silence of the dying universe to echo across the cosmos, shadows claiming every last ray of hope, leaving only the vast emptiness in its wake.
“Just look forward, in your bleakest hour.”
The abyss rippled in a tiny flash of light, a spark of life pushing out back into existence. Dim at first but slowly gaining shimmer, a lone star soon glowing nearly as bright as the sun itself once did.
Basking the universe in a ray of hope, giving way to a possibility of a new story beginning out there amongst the darkness.
Perhaps not quite the same as the first, but a whole new world of hope, love and friendship. Perhaps fate allowing the essence of a chosen few to start anew, in a whole new light with vastly different paths.
For with the end of one era, a new one shall be born again. Connecting us all in a large tree of life, because in the end...
“Life will always surprise you.”
