Chapters Pinkie Flash A Flash Of Hope
The sword that Sombra used to end Rainbow Dash's life span echoed itself inside Pinkie's mind, even as she slept in her one bedroom apartment back home in Chicago where she obtained her super powers from. The nightmare was too much for the party girl and she woke up sweating, breathing heavily from a nightmare. Pinkie got out of bed and grabbed a bottle of water, thinking about her friend being killed by King Sombra.
It should have been me that took the sword, maybe Dash could have lived Pinkie thought to herself.
Even if she wanted to reverse time the result would be the same. Just wondering about that put a sharp pain in Pinkie's stomach as she placed her cup in the sink. The news showed what Pinkie's team did to Sombra and his two minions: Kassidy Black and Kate Taiga.
"Dashie...I'm sorry" Pinkie apologized.
Tears flow down her face after saying that, it was a painful heartbeat in her chest. She decided to sit on her futon couch and watch the news.
"The heroes in question saved our city from the clutches from King Sombra. Unfortunately, a loyal hero that was inspired by the Wonderbolts tragically left this world. Her name was Zapp, a good friend of the Power Heroes" the news reporter said.
Pinkie just stared at the TV blankly, as if she just couldn't feel emotion anymore. Twilight thought that if she went home, she could get a fresh start even without Rainbow Dash by her side. The news reported a robbery in progress at the Chicago Bank downtown, she swirled around until she had on her superheroine costume and in a flash she sped off. Dodging incoming traffic, Pinkie was focused even if her best friend was no longer here to support her, she had to look past her and cement the legacy in the team and where her help is needed.
She arrived at the Bank's front entrance where the local authorities stood with their guns drawn. Pinkie surveyed the current scene, she could see hostages and 4 enemies with semi automatic weapons, walking around to see if anyone will try anything.
I have to do this quickly so no one gets fatally shot
With her plan, Pinkie dashed into the building and kicked one guy in the face. Another tried to hit her but Pinkie was too fast for him, she wrapped her legs around the criminal's neck as she performed a hurricanrana which knocked down the other person who tried to attack Pinkie. With all 4 of the criminals down, Pinkie set all the hostages free and tied up the criminals so the proper authorities could handle it.
"Thank you Pinkie Flash" one officer said.
She nodded and raced away.
A tall figure with light green hair had a toothy grin as she watched Pinkie dash away from the crime scene.
"A pleasant but broken girl, she will be perfect" she said, letting her long snake like tongue come down in a hungry manner.
She disappeared before any of the cops could notice anything odd.
Pinkie returned back to her apartment, reverting back to her civilian clothes and sat down on her couch after a job well done. A distant thump could be heard outside her apartment door, she cautiously approached the door and opened it to reveal a bruised and beaten up Kassidy Black, her leather dark red jacket was ripped up like she got into a fight with a bear or something like that.
The first thought Pinkie was to make Kassidy pay for aiding Sombra in killing her best friend but she knew that taking revenge wouldn't bring Dash back so Pinkie brought her inside the apartment.
"Thanks Pinkie, I know that I aided Sombra in killing your friend" Kassidy said, sitting on the couch.
"Don't mention it" Pinkie responded.
Pinkie came from the kitchen with a glass of water for Kassidy. She took a big gulp of the water and began to speak about what happened.
"I know I'm the last person you want to see but I want you to know that I was attacked. They were kinda bug like and weird looking, they screeched in my face before leaving me there battered and bruised" Kassidy started.
"Bug like creatures? You mean changelings?" Pinkie asked.
"Is that what they are called?" Kassidy asked confused.
Pinkie nodded and showed Kassidy a photo of a changeling hive before government officials destroyed it, killing any offspring that was still alive.
"Guess those bastards want revenge on anyone that was for the government" Kassidy assumed.
"Not necessarily, their leader who goes by the name of Queen Chrysalis has ordered most of them to walk among us and basically feed on people's emotions?" Pinkie responded.
"Like energy vampires?" Kassidy questioned.
"Something like that yeah" Pinkie replied, shaking her head.
"Okay so this is going to sound really terrible but how about you and me team up and take down Chrysalis?" Kassidy offered.
Pinkie stared at her for a moment, thinking about how she kidnapped Fluttershy and made Dash almost bleed to death. On one hand she could just throw her outside her apartment but on the other hand, Pinkie could use the help to find Chrysalis so she offered a handshake to Kassidy. She looked down then up again, shocked at Pinkie's action, being that she was involved in Rainbow's death.
"The enemy of my enemy is my friend" Pinkie quoted. '
Kassidy smiled a little bit before shaking her hand to signal that they are going to team up.
On the rooftop, Queen Chrysalis removed her hoodie to reveal her light but dark green hair and green eyes with a split iris.
"So the hero and the hapless symbiote hybrid girl think that teaming up will do them any good, they will see what happens when everyone wants you dead" Chrysalis said smirking.
4 changelings appeared beside Chrysalis and shifted into their human disguises.
"Infect and destroy" Chrysalis commanded.
They smirked and dropped down to the city streets below.
Pinkie Flash A Flash Of Hope
Pinkie and her new friend Kassidy Black headed out to a local Target to pick out some new clothes since her current ones look like she was ripped apart by a wild animal but got away before the animal could finish her off. They looked around the ladies section where Pinkie picked out a red and gray shirt with a saying Welcome To The Jungle with the Guns and Roses logo on the front.
"Really?" Kassidy questioned, crossing her arms.
"Yes, this looks really cool" Pinkie said smiling.
Kassidy was already regretting this partnership but she did need some new clothes anyway, she wasn't like her other symbiote counterpart so she grabbed the shirt from Pinkie and walked into the changing room to change while Pinkie stood watch. A store associate placed a single but firm hand behind her and as if on influence, Pinkie dashed behind her and performed a straight right punch to her back, sending her into 3 dressed mannequins. The person hissed at Pinkie, revealing that she was a changeling.
"Your a changeling" Pinkie said, taking a defensive stance.
"Your quite persistent Flash, our queen will love to see you and your little friend" the changeling hissed.
Kassidy walked out with the shirt and noticed the store associate/changeling down on the ground and Pinkie standing over her. It didn't take a rocket scientist to understand that she was a changeling in the face, which caused the human disguise to disappear and reveal it in full view.
"Yep that's a changeling alright, how the hell did it find us?" Kassidy asked quizzically.
"Changelings have specific set of skills, one of those skills is scent" Pinkie explained.
"So they picked up your scent" Kassidy assumed.
Pinkie nodded and out of nowhere she pulled Kassidy out of machine gun fire, they took cover behind the dressing room counter as 6 firing squads fired their weapons.
"So you have a plan Pinkie? I don't think you can go hero" Kassidy said.
"No need, I came prepared" Pinkie said, tapping on her watch.
The watch beeped once and transformed Pinkie into the speedster Pink Flash with one thing different: her mask was pink neon lights and looked cool around Pinkie's eyes so now she felt like a real superheroine. Kassidy let her symbiote engulf her to turn her into Scream, both girl jumped off the counter and attacked.
Blasts came from the guns but Pinkie was able to dodge them easily and lightning punch one officer that had enough force to send him flying into a bunch of DVDs, Kassidy on the other hand grabbed an officer's gun and impaled him with a spike, killing him instantly.
"We forgot how fun this is" Kassidy said, licking her sharp teeth.
Pinkie ran around in a circle that created a sort of mini tornado that the last 2 officers airborne before her and Kassidy dual punched those officers. The symbiote returned back into Kassidy's skin, Pinkie looked over at the knocked out officers. She noticed bright green veins all around the officer's face and arms.
"Looks like they were being controlled or infected for lack of a better term" Pinkie stated.
"Classic Chrysalis, sending her minions to do her dirty work instead of doing it herself" Kassidy said dryly.
"She smart but even she knows her hive can't stop us" Pinkie said, reverting back to her civilian clothes.
Both girls left the Target without anyone noticing they left, they were too busy hiding from the changeling controlled firing squad.
"Damn them, they busted my firing squad like they were noticing but paper" Chrysalis cursed.
She turned off her TV camera. got up from her throne and walked over to a bunch of files tilted Midnight at Dawn which maybe had clues to a summoning spell, called one of her associates and handed it to him.
"Send this to Starlight" she said to him.
He nodded and left.
Chrysalis smirked in pleasure at the thought of what Starlight Glimmer was going to do with that file.
"Those heroes may have bested my generals but I have more in my arsenal" Chrysalis said, sitting back down on her throne.
Back at the apartment, Kassidy looked over at the green blood that was on her hand until she used a pocket knife to put it into a glass jar, Pinkie closed it up and placed the jar through a scanner that Twilight gave her as a Christmas gift. The scans indicate the green blood was definitely that of a changeling but also used as a hypnotic device for lack of better term.
"So she uses it for a hypnotic infection?" Kassidy questioned.
"Or maybe they sink their fangs into someone thus injecting the poison inside their bodies, like those green veins pulsating when I knocked them out" Pinkie explained, pacing back and forth.
"That's so weird" Kassidy said.
"That's how changelings are" Pinkie said.
Kassidy pondered how this green blood had some type of mind altering possibility.
"It's still weird to think about but I think we need to find Chrysalis and end this storm" Kassidy suggested.
"I agree" Pinkie said.
Pinkie Flash A Flash Of Hope
Pinkie super kicked the last changeling that was standing outside the apartment leasing office. Kassidy grabbed one and stabbed it, killing the changeling instantly. Both girls panting after what they just did.
"That should be the last of them" Kassidy said.
Pinkie nodded and stood up, trying to catch her breath from the fight. She had never been in a fight that intense before, at least not like this. Sure, King Sombra put up one hell of a brawl and caused Dash's death that forever will haunt her. Pinkie reached into her pocket and pulled out Dash's lightning bolt necklace, looking at it.
Dash I hope your guiding me Pinkie smiled, placing the necklace around her neck.
"So now what?" Kassidy asked.
"We go and find Chrysalis and end this once for all" Pinkie stated.
"One problem though, where the hell is Chrysalis located? And how would we get inside?" Kassidy questioned.
"To answer your first question, her base is across town, I interrogated a changeling to give me information" Pinkie responded.
"Huh, good thinking Pinkie" Kassidy admired.
"Thanks" Pinkie replied.
The two girls got up from their position then walked out of the apartment leasing office to be surrounded by 4 police squad cars coming up to them as officers with their guns drawn, not taking their eyes off of Kassidy and Pinkie. Pinkie had to be smart about this, if she somehow could cause a distraction to at least have time for her and Kassidy to escape. That's when a bunch of dark clouds started to form in and her hands along with her feet started to spark violently.
"Pinkie what's happening to you?" Kassidy asked.
"No idea" Pinkie said.
The sparks began to react as some lights went out, a lightning struck down on Pinkie, changing into her superheroine persona Pink Flash as she stood tall with thunder rumbling around her. The cops drew their weapons, ready for whatever Pinkie had in store. All of a sudden, a flash of a thrust kick landed on a few cops without any hesitation as Kassidy joined in on the fight as more quick attacks were placed until all the changeling police officers were taken down, Pinkie looked down at her handiwork before reverting back to her normal clothes.
Dash lives within me Pinkie smiled, touching the lightning bolt necklace.
"Hey Pinkie you okay? You went all Thor Odinson on these changelings" Kassidy said.
"Yeah, well we can use of the police cruisers to head down to Chrysalis' hive and take her down" Pinkie said with a serious look on her face.
Kassidy was about to protest but then realized that she did something similar in her youth, where she took joy rides with her friends. Both girls stepped inside the police cruiser, Pinkie grabbed the keys from one officer before handing them to Kassidy so she could start it up.
"Been a while since I drove one of these" Kassidy warned Pinkie.
"Don't worry I trust you" Pinkie replied smiling brightly.
When she heard those words, that gave Kassidy a sort of a soft heart. Maybe this team up with a goody two shoes speedster wouldn't be so terrible like she previously imaged. The car turned a corner then started to drive off into city streets, both Pinkie and Kassidy enjoying each other's company but their main focus was taking down Chrysalis and ending this once and for all.
"Where did you say her hive was again Pinkie?" Kassidy asked confused.
"Point de Grace I would assume" Pinkie guessed.
"Alright let's go" Kassidy said, revving the engine.
Kassidy weaved in and out of traffic, running red lights and barely avoiding oncoming cars on their way to the hive location. Pinkie looked in the rear mirror then out the actual window to see 4 police cruisers chasing them on a busy intersection.
"Hang on!" Kassidy shouted.
Pinkie put on her seatbelt just in case there was a crash involved with the police chase of 4 cruisers and 3 police bikes in hot pursuit of them both.
"These chumps never give up do they?" Kassidy questioned, looking through the rear view mirror.
"No, they want to protect the hive by any means necessary, even if we have to suffer" Pinkie explained.
Kassidy couldn't argue with that logic, after all they were loyal to Chrysalis that they would sacrifice their lives just to make sure they're queen saved the hive. The cruisers were getting closer so Kassidy let her symbiote engulf her right hand and fired spikes, aimed at the tires. 2 of the cruisers rammed into each other before exploding in a fiery crash, leaving 1 cruiser and still 3 police motorbikes still chasing Pinkie and Kassidy Black.
"Pinkie I need you to take the wheel, I'll take care of them" Kassidy ordered.
"Are you sure?" Pinkie asked, worryingly.
"Very sure" Kassidy responded.
"Alright but be careful" Pinkie said.
Kassidy took that warning into consideration and hopped out of the cruiser they were using to the roof, getting a good look at her current surroundings. Gunshots began to rain down on them as Kassidy got engulfed and transformed into Scream, she gave out an ear piercing screech before lunging at an officer. A long spear drove the officer and split him in half like a hot knife going through butter.
"You didn't make the cut" Scream grinned madly.
Oh boy she's making puns Pinkie rolled her eyes.
She extended her arm to spike 2 more officers with spike balls, the one cruiser started shooting at her so Scream jumped ontop the police car and pulled out the driver, tossing him into a busy street, where an 18 wheeler killed the officer upon impact.
Kassidy then jumped on to the roof of the car then came in on the passenger's side as her symbiote goes back inside her skin.
"Hey, your doing a pretty good job at driving Pinkie" Kassidy praised.
"Thanks" Pinkie responded with a bright smile.
The two girls still headed out for the hive where Chrysalis would be present. A creeping thought entered Kassidy's mind about being involved in the murder of Rainbow Dash, now here she was sitting next to Pinkie Pie.
I guess maybe I can be redeemed, even though I don't deserve any of this Kassidy thought.
Pinkie looked at Kassidy who had a look of guilt and self doubt so she held her hand to reassure her that even though she wasn't directly involved in the murder, she can still be a friend no matter what.
"I'm actually kind of surprised that you even trust me despite of what I was involved with" Kassidy said.
"I know that I would reduce you to nothing but right now we have a mission to take out Chrysalis" Pinkie reassured.
Kassidy smiled brightly.
Pinkie Flash A Flash Of Hope
Pinkie continued to drive down the path that police GPS was telling them to go, Kassidy had her head out the window looking at the pavement as it moved at the same pace as her and her new partner.
"You okay?" Pinkie asked, looking over at Kassidy.
"Your actually the first person who has shown me any kind of affection Pinkie. I know I was a part of King Sombra's group but to tell you the truth I didn't want to not be involved" Kassidy explained, she shown some kind of guilt and Pinkie could see it clear as day.
"I forgive you" Pinkie beamed, rubbing Kassidy's back to rise.
Kassidy looked over her shoulder to see a bright sunshine like smile spread across Pinkie's face. That made the symbiote host to start to smile as well, she hugged Pinkie as she drove out of the highway and onto city streets.
"According to the GPS it says that our destination is to our left" Pinkie said.
Both girls turned their heads to notice the Chicago Police Department was balls to the walls covered in green changeling ooze that was shaped like a tower with a pointy tip hanging at the very top, Pinkie put the cruiser in park before getting out. Kassidy got out as well, still in awe at what they were looking at. Parts of the ooze started to leak on to the streets, which made Kassidy make a disgusted facial expression.
"Ugh the sooner we take care of this, the better my stomach will settle" Kassidy said.
Pinkie nodded.
They both entered inside the police hive building where catacombs were everywhere and were constantly shifting every few seconds. It was mind boggling to say the least, Kassidy had her mouth gaping open with shock. Pinkie instinctively closed Kassidy's mouth so no fly would cause her to choke on an insect.
"Thanks" Kassidy said.
"Wouldn't want a bug in your mouth" Pinkie responded.
"How are we going to possibly going to find Chrysalis? This place is like one giant maze" Kassidy questioned.
Pinkie was dumbfounded with the many shifting hallways, that would make finding the changeling queen second to impossible, but the pink party girl's vision started showing a path leading to Chrysalis.
"Come on I know how we can get to her" Pinkie said, grabbing Kassidy's hand.
All of a sudden Pinkie sped through the maze, ramming herself into changeling soldiers that were in her way until both her and Kassidy walked into Chrysalis' chambers, the throne that she sat on was empty. Kassidy and Pinkie exchanged looks of confusion of the absence of one named Chrysalis.
"Pinkie Pie" a familiar voice ringed in Pinkie's ear.
She turned around to see her bestest friend in the whole wide world Rainbow Dash in full view and in living color. Pinkie thought she was in a dream, cause Dash sacrificed herself to save everyone in Metropolis but now here she was, standing in front of Pinkie unharmed.
"D.....ashie...." Pinkie stammered.
She started to walk towards her to see if this was a trap or an illusion. Unknowingly, Chrysalis had a small knife behind her as she displayed a small smirk that Kassidy noticed right away.
"PINKIE IT'S A TRAP!" Kassidy bellowed, tackling Pinkie to the ground.
The disguise Chrysalis was using was of no use to her anymore thanks to Kassidy. She growled and hissed at them as she brought out her claws, attempting to scratch Pinkie but Kassidy blocked it with a claw of her own.
"What do you care about this pathetic waste of super powers?" Chrysalis hissed.
"She's more than that Chrysalis, Pinkie is my friend" Kassidy declared.

That one word that Pinkie used as a trademark echoed itself inside her head, she stood up as Kassidy was taking a few claw attacks to her face and body, ripping up her leather jacket and shirt somewhat. As Chrysalis was about to deliver the final blow, a hand stopped her from connecting with it.
"What the? What do you think your doing you insolent fool?!?" Chrysalis snapped.
Pinkie's hand began to spark and crackle, Chrysalis tried to make sense of it but Pinkie shocked her which sent the queen flying back into her throne, knocking it off it's perch.
Whoa that was actually pretty cool Kassidy thought, she was in awe at her friend for what she just did a few minutes ago.
A lightning strikes down on Pinkie, transforming her into the superheroine Pink Flash as Chrysalis growled in frustration at this person for breaking in her home and causing all this chaos.
"You fool! You will never defeat me!" Chrysalis said.
Pinkie dashed over to her, getting close enough to execute a lightning speed punch that connected with her face, she spit out some green blood before clawing at her outfit which caused it to rip and bleed on her left hip. Chrysalis had a sly smirk as she brought out a black and green glowing kitana that was laced with lethal acid.
"Now your going to die just like your friend" Chrysalis hissed.
That wanted to send Pinkie over the edge but she knew it would only make things worse so she kept her composure as she dashed over to Chrysalis to do another lightning punch, the changeling queen blocked her attempt and punched her in the gut which cracked some ribs. Pinkie went flying but caught herself by grabbing on a steel beam to use as a catapult to swing towards Chrysalis. While she was focused on Pinkie catapulting her way towards her, Kassidy with a spear hand stabbed Chrysalis in the chest as Pinkie round housed kicked her hard that blood came out her mouth and had a broken nose in the process.
Chrysalis slammed back first into the hard wall, causing it to shatter like glass. Pinkie and Kassidy looked over at their handiwork, wondering if they truly defeated the changeling queen but Chrysalis stood up barely after having been stabbed and round housed kicked by Pinkie and Kassidy.
"This is impossible! How are you two are able to stand up to me?!?" Chrysalis bellowed, holding her chest after Kassidy stabbed her there.
"She taught me something about being a hero and not letting people like you destroy that" Kassidy proclaimed.
Chrysalis screamed loudly in the air, causing the whole place to shake and rattle, even cause a bit of cracks in the wall and didn't want any interruptions from any outside help no matter who or what they were. She was going to make sure this place became Pinkie's tomb.
Pinkie put up her open palm to reveal a lightning ball, crackling electricity as the energy flowed through it, her face was dead serious about defeating Chrysalis. When she readied herself her attack, a figure of Rainbow Dash in her Zapp costume was standing next to her best friend.
Dashie...
She winked at Pinkie before her form disappeared and gave a small smile as a tear flowed down her face. Chrysalis then roared in anger and charges at Pinkie, attempting to drive her claws into her but Pinkie countered and drove the lightning ball at Chrysalis into her chest as she screamed in horror.
The walls that covered the police station started to fall apart at the seams, the big explosion caused a ripple EMP blast that affected every electronic device in a 20 mile radius. Chrysalis got thrown back until she hit a wall very hard, lifeless and not moving. Pinkie put her bloody hand down and walked over to close Chrysalis' eyes then sighed.
"Pinkie what you did was so....electrifying and kind of dangerous" Kassidy stated.
Pinkie didn't respond to the question that Kassidy asked her and dropped to her knees.
"I saw her Kassidy...Dashie was standing next to me as I readied my attack. Even though I have this lovable bubbly personality, Dash was always there for me in my darkest moments...she gave me this power and lightning pendant for this specific reason. She chose me to carry her name" Pinkie explained.
Those words pierced Kassidy hard and both girls hugged before walking out of the police headquarters.
"Well I should be going, thanks for helping me Pinkie. You know, your really sweet girl, I hope you and I hang out sometime" Kassidy suggested.
"Sure" Pinkie beamed.
They hugged again before Kassidy left in the stolen police cruiser and sped off.
Pinkie looked over in the horizon, got in a runner's position, then dashed off back to her superheroine home in Metropolis.
