The Darkest Timesby FuxeBuxeChaptersChapter 2. The MeetingChapter 3. Comfortable Silence but Awkward DarkChapter 4. The FillyChapter 1. The Walk to PonyvilleChapter 2. The MeetingStanding there was the most perfect pony his ever seen. A tall strong looking Pegasus, her coat is shiny tan, her hair is a beautiful combination of red, orange, and green. Her cheeks had cute little white freckles dusting them. Her cutie mark is that of a shiny zap apple, it compliments her rounded flank perfectly. The he realizes his just blatantly staring at another ponies' flank, so he looks away. When she turns he casts his gaze back, watching her buck trees with her strong hind legs. Her wings are covered in a leather bow so they don't get damaged some how in her rough housing. Her bright green eyes shine with the sunlight, its quite breath taking, at least for him. His never seen a pony as beautiful as this... He leans on the window and he watches her until nightfall when she finally stops working and goes inside. "Fuck.", he now starts to get concerned, "What was that? Why was I just... watching her? Why did I have the urge to talk to her, maybe its a simple case of infatuation. Ah yes that's it, simple infatuation, nothing serious.". He paces around the room then a knock comes at the door. "Hey Nighty! You in there?", the surprisingly comforting voice of his niece came from the other side of his door. His very glad she came at this moment to take his mind off... things. He goes and opens the door and she beams at him. "Hey, wanna hang out for a bit? The sun went down so maybe you'd feel more comfortable now?", she says excitedly. She looks much older then he thought she would be, thank Celestia he wont have to babysit... but now she's asking him of all ponies to hang out with her? "...Uh, what?", he says in honest confusion, why would she want to hang out with him? Willingly? Was she out of her mind? More importantly was he out of his own mind? "S-sure....", he sighs, he doesn't want to disappoint his niece, he has to be a good role model after all. "Great!", she perks up and she smiles brightly. "Cotton made a party just for you so we were hoping you would come.", she started off down the hall and Night followed. A party? For him? It wasn't even near his birthday so why did they throw a party for him? Then other thoughts rushed to his head... Would that pony be there? The town is so small that Plasm has to know her right? These thoughts haunt his mind as they make their way to Sugar Cube Corner. He walks in after her and their are way to many ponies there... Party decorations and sweets litter the room, its much too colorful for his taste. At least all the ponies seem a bit younger then him... He scans the room and he doesn't see that pony there... He breaths a sigh of relief, he didn't want to have to face her if she noticed his watching. Staring at a pony you don't even know from a window is totally not creepy at all. No of course not. Well how could he help it? She was just so perfect and so strong looking as well as pret- "Hey!", the pink pony from before shouts and interruptus his little day dream. "Took you long enough to get here! I hope you like sweets.. their the only things I know how to bake", she absent-mindedly said. He almost thought it was cute, trying to win his acceptance like this. He merely nodded and the blonde's face lit up and she hopped around the room. He chuckles slightly. Soon his niece leaves his side to go talk to her friends and his left alone in a crowd of people. He sighs and just sits down as he eats some sweets to get his mind off of it... Then he remembers why he doesn't eat sweets and tosses it out. He starts to day dream again about that pony... "Hey, this seat free?", a loud yet kind voice said. He looks up and there she is, the most perfect pony he has ever seen is looking back at him... So close he could almost touch her. She's even more beautiful up close, her wings are untied so he gets to see every soft downy feather from every poof of fluff on her chest and every muscle on her body. He adverted his eyes to the floor to not stare. "Ah yes of course, please sit", he tries to say as coolly and calmly as he can. She slides into the seat across from him and she smiles. He looks else where now, he doesn't want to look at her directly like this... She must not have caught him staring or she wouldn't be sitting by him. Thank Celestia. "So, your Darkest Night right?", she said, just trying to make simple conversation to fill up the empty space. She said it, she said HIS name. It sounded so beautiful rolling off her tongue. He never thought his name could sound even remotely good, after all it was given to him by his.. father. "Y-yeah, what's your name?", he questioned as he played with his hooves. He can't believe she's actually talking to him! This is both a dream come true and his worst nightmare. What if he messes up? What if he says something stupid? What if she never talks to him again? "It's Vibrant, Vibrant Empire, you can call me Ve if you would like", she kicked her hooves as she said this, making her self seem more adorable to Night in the process. "T-that's a beautiful name", he nervously said. Then his cheeks flushed red at what he said, beautiful name? Really? He doesn't want her to know his even slightly interested. He has no plans getting attached to this town or the ponies in this town. Not now not ever. Or at least this is what he thinks now... Author's Note Woo chapter 2, not creepy at all dude, nice going. His real good with the ladies let me tell you, he hasnt even had his first kiss yet thats how fucking good he is. Thanks for reading my dudes, more out soon, hopfully two chapters per week? Probably every Friday and Monday? Hopfully more when school ends. - FuxeBuxe Chapter 3. Comfortable Silence but Awkward Dark"Beautiful? That's a hoot, gosh such a charmer", she says though broken chuckles. Her laugh was like music to his ears, he is honestly speechless, he doesn't quite know what else to say... So they just sit there in a comfortable silence and watch the other ponies. She seems perfectly content with the silence, this makes her even more appealing to Dark. "You two just gonna sit there and do nothing?", a voice piped up from right behind Dark, making him jump. It was the blond pony from before... he scoots away from her. "Awe scared of little old me? I thought the prince of dark-", just then she was interrupted with a hoof covering her muzzle. "That's quite enough.", a mare with a similar colored coat and eyes lazily said. She has blotches of white on her coat and her hair is a short mess of lavender locks. Her tone and looks are very different of that to her sister, she seems rather laid back then her.. sister? and she seems more his type of pony. "Ugh, your a party pooper", the blond pony removes her hoof from her muzzle and sighs, "Fine, fine have it your way, I won't pick on the new guy". She then trots off into the group of people, no where to be seen and dear Celestia is Dark relieved. "Sorry bout that, she is a bit of.. well a spaze", the new pony pulls her self up a seat to the table and plops her self in it. "That was my sister, Cotton Candy, I'm Powdered Sugar.", she leans her chair back on two legs and balances. Dark keeps himself from not pushing her back... his very tempted too, it would be hilarious. "Its.. uh fine I guess", he says flatly, a bit disappointed that Ve and him aren't alone anymore. He will deal. He shouldn't be getting close to her anyway, his just here on nothing more then a business trip really. Yeah... just.. business, not looking into other ponies lives or trying to get involved in relationships... He shouldn't have even came anyways, this party is more trouble then its worth. Its not like anyone really probably cares to talk to him anyway, they probably all came because of Plasm and free food. Its only natural really, people simply don't care if your suspected to be evil. He doesn't blame them too much for it. "Oh it really isn't, she just can't read body language when it comes to ponies and when she starts talking, she hardly ever stops.", Powdered sighs in exasperation. "Yeah, we're all use to it by now here, sorry Dark, I shoulda warned ya" Ve said with a slightly sorry tone. She runs her hoof though her hair and her wings flap slightly. "Maybe it wasn't the.. the best choice to start you off with a big party if ya ain't comfortable with the ponies yet.", she rests her muzzle in her hooves and her eyes settle on Dark. "Ah, don't worry about me, I'm just happy you all did something for me.", he lies though his teeth. He really isn't happy. He doesn't want to be stuck in this stupid party with these stupid ponies, there are only two ponies he can stand in this entire town probably. Plasm and Ve. "Next time we'll do somethin' better, that your more comfortable with.", she smiles at him, "We just didn't know exactly what ya'd be like so we couldn't count for everythin' sadly." "Of course, I'm glad you would still like to do something with me.", he nervously says, no one has really ever wanted to hang out with him, much less a pretty girl. "Duh I do! How about we meet up tomorrow at sunset? At Apple Acres?", she asks happily. Was it going to be just the two of them or was she inviting more ponies? Is he reading her signals wrong? Hell does he even know what a signal is? "S-sure, I'd be delighted to come along", he slightly stutters out. His really doing it, his going to hang out with a pony, and not just any pony, the most beautiful pony his ever seen... what if once their alone together and she sees the real him? What if she doesn't like it? No, no, his not here to be a beacon of friendship and love. He doesn't need to care what she thinks... yet he does, he desperately wants to gain her approval... but how does he do it is the real question? "Perfect! I can't wait", she claps her hooves together excitedly and her wings flap happily as she jumps to her hooves. "Well I have to go plan, I'll have to catch you later Dark", she waves to him then she galops off out the door and takes off towards Apple Acres. "Fucking nice man", Powdered chuckles, "Totally not awkward at all...". She practically snorts this, obviously she finds this immensely funny. "... What?", he slowly turns his head to her, his also starting to not like this pie twin too much... "Nothing, its just the fact that you are so good with the ladies, I'm practically floored.", she gives him a wide grin... it seems as if shes trying to press on his buttons... "Hmph…", he simply stands with that comment and starts to walk out himself, he can hear Powder laughing as he leaves... This is one reason why he despises ponies... He walks back to Twilight's castle in the dead of night, the slight breeze running though his coat makes him feel cool. The moon is perfectly lighting the town to make it look... almost bearable. He soon gets to the castle doors and silently slips in, hoping not to be noticed by Twilight or her guard dog, Spike. Luckily for him the castle is pitch black, no lighting from the moon entering though curtains. He can easily make his way up to his room without being noticed, so that's exactly what he does.... He gets about half way up the stairs when he hears a small voice "W-who's there!", she sounds utterly frightened at the figure standing before her, he looks back at the bottom of the steps and sees a small brown filly with tanish and pink colored short hair. Chapter 4. The FillySomething has gone wrong. We don't seem to have an archived copy of that chapter.Chapter 1. The Walk to PonyvilleHis mother had forced him of all ponies to be out on a day like this... Miserable it was, the sun was beating down on the path ahead, the trees provided little to no protection from the harsh light of the day. He could have taken the train, but all of those ponies? No fucking thank you. He wouldn't be caught dead in a train... all stuffy and a pony could bump into you? He'd rather not. Then his thoughts are brought back to the blinding sunlight and why exactly he went anywhere today. His mother, Princess Luna, thought of the perfect idea of him going to stay with his dear old aunty Twilight Sparkle and her little daughter, Plasm Bolt. All he could think about are all the great opportunities to be a baby sitter. Is that the only reason he is going to be there? So Twilight can fuck around? Well he guesses it can't be too horribly bad... there is a decent sized library he could spend most of his time in. The little brat can't be too bad, she is a princess after all and she should have enough training not to be a nuisance. "Oh! Your new! You look interesting! Why is your horn curved? Is it always like that?" His thoughts are interrupted with an annoyingly excited and high toned voice... When he looks up at the pony he sees a wide grin and poofs of strawberry blond curls of hair. Her icy blue eyes stood out from her light pink coat. She is right in front of him, almost touching muzzles with him. He instinctively takes a step back, and she takes one forward. "Your coat is so cool looking! I haven't seen anyone with coat patterns like this except Princess Luna! Oh wait you must be Darkest Night!", she shouted and shook his hoof almost violently, "Oh Plasm Bolt told me all about you! I didn't know you where coming today! Or.. wait maybe I did and I just forgot... Well! I remember now! I'll see you soon!". With that she runs off towards Ponyville. "Ok, damn", he says as he wipes his muzzle with his hoof... just in case. He watches her run to Ponyville in the distance... Then he wonders how she got there that fast... He doesn't think much of it, he just keeps walking. When he reaches town a few ponies wave at him and he just.. looks the other way, ignoring them the best he can, he doesn't want to talk to more ponies necessary to get though these three months he has to spend here. At least the awnings on these buildings can keep him out of the sunlight burning his dark coat. He then passes by a small group of ponies talking... "I heard Luna's son is coming, I hope he doesn't intend on trying to live here...", a tall pinkish unicorn said. His use to talk like this by now... Having King Sombra as a father can do wonderful things for your public image, but then again why should he care? He is royalty and they are simply not, he gets to make the rules and they get to abide by them. He is better then them and that's all he needs to know. But he did quite enjoy the little surprise that mare got when he used his magic to change her hair into a pile of snakes and all of the screaming that ensued because of it. Yes, he could have let it go, but might as well keep his wonderful public image up hm? He then gets to Princess Twilights doors... He simply walks right in, his magic hangs up his cloak on the coat rack as he walks in and takes in the sights. He quite enjoys her castle, all of the crystals remind him of the crystal empire, the place he would really rather be at a time like this. Maybe his love for the empire is... in his blood. When Twilight hears the metal on crystal from his hooves she walks out to the foyer. "Hello Night!", she announced with her ever cheerful tone. She didn't look that different from when he saw her many years ago, light violet coat with dark blueish purple hair in a bun, with a single stripe of purple and pink running along it. "I am so glad you decided to come, I missed you so much", she says as she wraps her hooves around him and hugs him tight. This made Night visibly tense so she moved away "Oh, I'm sorry.. I uh forgot...", she says meekly. Of course she forgot, he is unmemorable, his surprised anyone remembers him at this point, never attending events or parties. He isn't surprised yet he tries to remain polite with family. "Of course, it's not that big of a problem Aunt Twilight", he said in his usual monotone, expression flat and seemingly uninterested. Twilight seemed to notice his displeasure and just showed him to his room with no words between them, the silence is quite uncomfortable for Twilight. "Uh.. can I get you anything before you turn in? Or do you not sleep during the day like Luna?" She says quietly, trying to figure out how to assess the situation. "Leaving me alone will be quite enough. I do go to sleep at night like most ponies but I would prefer if I wasn't bothered.", he states flatly as he turns his flank to her and shuts the door behind him. "Ah.. Of course...", her expression turns into one of sadness as she turns and trots down the steps. Night looks around his room and finds that it is... acceptable for him. He looks out the window and he has a full view of Apple Acres, he thinks to himself it isn't the worst view in the world. At least he can look at a bunch of trees rather then be looked at by a bunch of ponies. He watches the trees and clouds for a while then a pony walks out of the house in Apple Acres...
