Shining shuffled his hooves. “Oh no, twily! It was great, always great,” he lifted her chin, “you were great.”

“Oh good.” Twilight sighed in relief. If she had been better knowledge in the art of body lanugue, she may have seen where things were going. Instead, in her naive, she nuzzled into her brother’s chest.

Shining pulled away. ‘Twi,” he breathed in heavily. He loved his sister, he really did. However, he also knew deep down, this day should have come a lot sooner as well. “We…” He struggled with her wide eye dopy smile. “We, should stop doing this.”

Twilight smile dropped, but only a little. “Oh Shining, you tease.” Her laughter became less and less when her brother didn’t return the favor. “Come on, stop joking around.”

Shining Armor rubbed his head. “I’m not kidding. Look, Twi, if I’m honest, I think this has gone on far longer than it should of. I know this hurts now, but in time you’ll-“

“Stop!” Twilight cut off. “Just stop and quit messing around.”

Shining Armor groaned. “Twi! This is why. I’ve let this go on so long, because I thought it was good for you. Showed you’ve can be loved, but now… Now I’m worried it’s made you to dependent on me.”

“Twi, listen to me!”

“Did cadence put you up to this?”

"but i want you! Twilgth cried. "You're the only stallion i ever need, why can't it be you?"

Fine...” Spike answered, climbing up the stairs to the study. Seeing Twilight with a book held up to her face. “Everything... okay?”

“Yeah!” She answered from behind her book.

Spike frowned. “You sure?”

“Yes, Spike.”

He advanced toward her. “Twilight, are you-“

Behind her book, a puffy eyes Twilight considered for a moment what she wanted to do next. She didn’t need anyone, and could have easily just shooed the baby dragon away. On the other hoof, she could use some company would be nice...
