“Sister!” Celestia’s heavy hoofbeats echoed off of the polished tiles as she collided with the door of her younger sister’s room. Normally she would have employed a more subtle tactic, but a sudden shout from a loved one’s room is anything but normal. The older alicorn’s cry fell on deaf ears as her eyes grew wide at the state of the room before her.
“Luna…?” A pang of fear twisted in Celestia’s gut as she took a step into the scarcely illuminated room. Splinters of wood and bits of stone and glass that had once made up several pieces of furniture now covered the ground in a hazardous mixture. The sight of the familiar figure of her sister cowering in the midst of all this damage struck her with an icy chill and the sensation of something being deeply wrong.
The younger princess’s body was wracked with anguished sobs as she shook and mumbled to herself beneath her breath. The small amount that Celestia was able to pick up on almost made it sound as if she was pleading with herself. As she raised her hoof to comfort the other mare it struck her that she herself was trembling. Before she could find the words that might provide some amount of comfort to her sibling her form seemed to shift and change slightly.
It almost seemed as if tendrils of pure darkness were grasping at the fringes of Luna’s unkempt mane and tail as they began to spread along her. Celestia wanted to say something, no, she needed to! As she opened her muzzle once more the words finally came jumbling out all together.
“L-luna…? I know that it might seem like nopony appreciates you sometimes. But I just want you to know that I-” Before she could finish speaking, her sobbing sister raised her head and seemed to incline it towards her.
“But everypony is thankful that I keep them safe at night. That their dreams are free of nightmares. Equestria couldn’t do it without me.”
The sound of Luna’s voice caused the older mare’s eyes to narrow in greater concern. The words that she had spoken were her younger sister’s but there was something that sounded… off about them. Something malicious that made her instinctively take a step closer to the other mare only for her to fade into the growing darkness beneath their hooves.
In an instant Celestia was thrown from her hooves by the sudden impact of another body ramming into her own. Her pristine white coat picked up a mixture of the shrapnel that littered the floor as she came skidding to a stop. Despite the telltale warmth that she could feel spreading slowly over a few patches of her coat she quickly began to scan the darkness for any sign of her attacker or little sister.
“Sister! Are you alright?” Somewhere out in the darkness something called to her with Luna’s voice, though the way it echoed made it hard for her to pinpoint the source. As she tried to fight the pain in her side and will herself onto her hooves she was suddenly kicked by an armored hoof which forced the breath from her lungs.
With the stinging pain in her side it took a few seconds for her to focus on the sight before her, but she immediately wished she hadn’t. Standing above the princess was a being that was her sister, but at the same time it wasn’t a thing like her. She was adorned with a twisted mockery of Luna’s armor that they had worn in their clashes with Sombra and Discord. The eyes that had once held kindness and love were cold and filled with malice that matched her slitted pupils.
“What’s the matter, sister? Are you afraid of the dark?” The being’s muzzle twisted in a cruel sneer as she ignited her horn and took aim at the downed mare. Without a warning a beam of energy crackled to life and bolted towards Celestia. As it neared the downed alicorn her own horn ignited and formed a small dome above her that accepted the brunt of the spell before it shattered.
“Stop this, Luna! I love you, so please, stop!” Hot tears clouded her vision as she fought the stinging pain and climbed to her hooves. A shrill cackle from the being that used to be her sister was the only sign that her words had been spoken. Malevolence glinted in the other mare’s slitted eyes as she closed the gap between the two of them.
I can’t fight her…
“Luna?” the dark mare spat the name with an air of disgust. “She was a weak pony, hoping for that which she could just take by force. I’m the true princess of the night, Nightmare Moon!”
As she launched another beam of magical energy towards Celestia the other mare lept towards one of the large windows that sat just behind her. Her stiff wings extended in flight as she dove through one of the destroyed openings into the darkness of the night. As she leapt from the window the rest of the frame exploded into splinters of wood beneath her sister’s assault.
The cool night’s air brought a chill to the older sister’s body as she wracked her brain for some way to purge the darkness from the possessed mare. She heard the beating of wings behind her before another jolt of magical energy illuminated the darkness of the night and crashed into one of the ancient stone sculptures dotting the garden. As Celestia soared just over the top of the now pile of rubble a familiar building caught her eye.
Maybe the elements can free her…? Can I even use them without Luna?
Driven onward by the possibility of hope for her younger sister, she sped towards the sanctum’s doors. Another cackle sounded out above her as the other mare’s horn discharged another barrage of magical energy that shattered the barrier Celestia brought up around herself.
As she reached the sanctuary, the princess of sunlight threw open the doors and rushed towards the center of the room where the magical gems slowly spun in place atop their display. Her hoofbeats were soon joined by another’s as the mare of darkness charged towards her. “Stop running sister. Bow before the true Princess of Equestria and I might let you live!”
Standing before the Elements of Harmony had always been soothing to the Princess before, they were a constant sign that all was as it should be. As she slowly turned to face the snarling mare before her she was worried. Worried that she didn’t know what to do. That her sister blamed her for everything that had transpired. Most of all she was worried that she was going to lose Luna again.
W-wait…
Lose her again? When did I lose her before?
As Nightmare Moon strode towards her with a sinister grin, the Elements sparked to life behind her. Deep down in her gut she knew that something terrible was about to happen. Celestia reached out a hoof to her younger sister one last time. With a roar of rage the armored mare slapped her hoof aside and everything flashed white as magic exploded outwards from the Elements.
Even though Celestia’s eyes were clenched tight she knew that something awful and unforgivable had transpired. The feeling of loss stung harder than any of the pain that she had already been feeling and caused tears to freely cascade down her cheeks. Though the world was still bathed in light it soon became darkness as it shifted around the sobbing mare. Somewhere in the darkness something grabbed Celestia and pulled her backwards into the unknown.

In the realm of dreams Luna stood over her sister’s sobbing form as she ran a hoof comfortingly along her back. Since her return she had known that her sister had felt some amount of guilt towards her situation, but this had been the first night that she had actually managed to catch a glimpse of her dreams. The Princess of the Night hated to see her sister tearing herself apart but as she tried to speak she heard Celestia’s own fragile cries.
“Luna… I should never have sent you away. It was all my fault. Your sadness, frustration, anger… I should have done something sooner.”
“No sister. It was my own fault for hiding it from you, I should have let my feelings be known to you.” Though the elder sister remained prone as she sobbed into her hooves her body’s trembling lessened somewhat as Luna leaned in and began to nuzzle into her flowing multicolored mane. As the side of her head met the other mare’s a soothing hum found itself escaping through her lips. In another world at another time she had a vague memory of Celestia doing something like this for her when she had been upset.
In time her sister’s body finally fell still as her breathing evened out. For a moment Luna had begun to wonder if she had somehow managed to fall asleep within her dream realm. She had no clue if such a feat was even possible, though if it was she had no doubt that her sister would be the one pony capable of it. Despite the somber mood that permeated the area she gave a small chuckle at the thought.
“L-luna? Is it really you?” With some amount of effort the older princess finally spoke, though her voice was hoarse from the tears that had been shed thus far. With a trembling hoof she brushed her flowing mane from her eyes which lit up as soon as they caught sight of her sister’s dark-blue coat. In a surprising show of energy Celestia leapt up from her prone position, wings extended at her sides as she swept the shocked mare up in a surprise embrace.
Each time that Luna began to give an answer to her sister her head was peppered with pecks and a constant stream of nuzzles that made it very hard for her to say anything. As the embrace carried on she could just barely make out the lines where tears had drenched the pristine white coat of her sibling. By the time that she was able to get enough space to formulate words the slightest hint of a blush lay beneath her dark-blue coat. “Tia. I’ll always love you.”
The older sister’s ears perked up at the long unused nickname and as her assault died down she reclined on her haunches before she slid onto her back. Though the other mare’s grip had loosened enough to allow her freedom, Luna rested atop her comforting chest just as she had done when she had been a filly. Though unlike those times so many years ago a new emotion had sparked to life as she looked down into her sister’s eyes. As the unfamiliar desire blossomed into something she simply couldn’t ignore any longer she lightly caressed the side of her sister’s muzzle with a forehoof. The mare she was entangled with only smiled brighter at the gentle touch.
That smile was what did Luna in. Something as pure and radiant as the sun shone through and before she knew it her muzzle was an inch away from her older sister’s. Magenta eyes grew wide as the gap between their muzzles was closed until there was none. Beneath her Luna could feel the other monarch tense up as they locked eyes and lips.
It had never struck the nocturnal princess that the new desire might be something that her sister wouldn’t approve of. She had simply acted on it without thinking through the possible consequences of her actions. Even as her rational mind was attempting to pinpoint all of the possible issues with the kiss her heart nervously leapt up into her throat and the sensation of butterflies filled her stomach. She wanted the kiss to last as long as possible given there was a very likely chance that this was the last time she would be able to feel the touch of her sister’s lips against her own.
What am I doing…? Sister is a forgiving pony, it’s true, but can she forgive me for this?
When she finally came up for a breath the full reality of what she had done struck Luna. With the sensation of the other mare’s muzzle against her own a mere memory, she began to quake atop the target of her affection. As she opened her eyes to study the expression on her sister’s muzzle she was met by the same shocked stare as before. Her throat suddenly felt as if she was attempting to swallow sand as she tried to force words out though all she managed was a small-sounding, “...Tia?”
Without waiting for an answer, Luna began an attempt to remove herself from the diurnal mare though before she had made it too far along her sister rolled the two of them over until she was the one on top. The midnight-blue mare winced as she steadied herself for whatever sort of punishment she had coming to her. A wry thought that she hoped kissing your sister wasn’t enough to be re-banished to the moon passed through her mind as Celestia opened her mouth to speak.
“Luna… you’re making it very hard to be a good older sister right now.” The tone of the chiding comment prompted the younger princess to raise a brow. As she waited for some sort of explanation her gaze flickered up to her sister standing tall above her. A crimson flush was plainly visible against the other mare’s ivory coat and as her gaze drifted lower she became very aware of each rise and fall of Celestia’s chest as she continued to straddle her midsection.
“M-maybe… don’t be a good one…?” The blush on the midnight-blue mare’s cheeks was only slightly less noticeable than her sister’s far lighter one. Laughter was most definitely the last response the vulnerable mare had expected in her current situation, but it’s what the diurnal mare gave her. Quickly her own nervous giggling mirrored her sister’s full-bodied laughter and she found herself revelling in the giddy sensation that swept through her.
The shared laughter of the mares was cut short in one fell swoop as the ivory mare placed a hoof on each side of her sister’s head and claimed her lips. The butterflies that had danced in her stomach since their first kiss ignited into flames as a soothing heat began to radiate outwards from her center. The sensation of her sister’s exploring hooves as they traced along the crescent moons adorning her flanks did little to stem the flames.
As her breathing began to grow labored her muzzle finally parted in the hope of taking a breath, Celestia’s tongue proved too quick for her however as the older mare’s tongue darted between her lips instead. The sensation of her mouth being filled by something foreign caused her wings to snap to attention at her sides. The younger princess shuddered as both feathered appendages strained rather uncomfortably against the ground beneath her.
Though she had initially seemed reluctant to give in her sister’s hooves easily found her wings and began to caress them sensually. The growing heat in her stomach suddenly seemed to burn as bright as her sister’s sun as it settled between her hind legs. She shifted uncomfortably beneath the other mare as she tried to endure the unfamiliar sensation, but it had just become far too distracting.
Tia… Tia please…
As the midnight mare continued to struggle beneath her sister’s assault on her mouth her yearning to be touched grew. During her struggles a moisture found itself overflowing from the heated slit between her legs. Soon it was all she could do to whine into the kiss in a last ditch hopeful attempt to draw the other mare’s attention to her need.
By the time that Celestia reacted she was so far gone that she barely reacted when the larger Alicorn slipped off of her midsection. The touch of a hoof against her aching slit sent spasms through her body that rocked her to her core. When her vision returned from the sudden spike in pleasure she was gazing up at the very satisfied smirk of her elder sister.
“You were right. It is fun not being a good older sister~” The hint of mischievousness that shone in the other mare’s eyes was a far cry from the deep sadness and guilt that she had seen in them earlier. Hopefully that very same mischievousness would see the ache in her loins dealt with. The magenta eyes that locked onto hers never lost that hint of mischief even as she rolled them and sighed.
“Though I guess I’ll have to end up being a good sister after all, won’t I?” The only answer that Luna could have given at that point died in her throat as the touch of her sister’s hoof caused something between a cry and a moan to escape in its stead. The elder princess looked on with interest as she drew her hoof up and down her trembling lips once more. The smaller mare’s hooves spasmed as her inexperienced core was shown the touch of another for the first time.
Though Luna hadn’t closed her eyes for a second she somehow managed to lose track of the taller mare as the lovely sensations she was being made to feel coursed through her body. As she craned her neck downwards to look for even the smallest hint of a multicolored mane she saw her sister staring at her lower lips. Though it was possible her aroused mind had just made it up, she swore that she heard her sister speak beneath her breath. “...Beautiful…”
If her muzzle hadn’t already been covered in the brightest blush she was sure that she could manage, that line would have done her in. As Celestia’s mouth closed over her arousal everything struck her all at once. She was actually being tasted down there by her sister. Pleasure throbbed inside her stomach as the other mare’s tongue forced its way into her depths.
Every thought that had filled her head since their first kiss fled the nocturnal mare’s mind as she became acutely aware of each and every motion her sister’s tongue was making between her lips. Occasionally the teasing appendage would pull free from her heat as the white-coated mare would lick the dripping arousal from her muzzle before going back in for more.
“T-tia! I’m…” She’d never heard her own voice sound so small and fragile, but her tone seemed to egg her sister on further as she began to vigorously pump in and out of her in response. As Luna felt something building inside she spasmed forwards and wrapped her forehooves around her sister’s head. Emboldened by her younger sibling’s movements Celestia drove her tongue home and she was soon rewarded with a spasming sister as the waves of orgasmic bliss battered the midnight-blue mare.
“Ahhhhhhhhh!” Even as she cried out the princess of the night released her hold on her sister’s head and fell back onto her haunches. Though she had let go the other mare continued to kiss and caress her lower lips until the sensation had grown to become almost unbearable and she found herself whimpering once again.
“...Celestia…” After her sister had parted ways with her lower lips they sat in silence for a few moments. Well, more like the elder princess sat silently and regarded her sibling as she panted and fought valiantly to recover her lost breath. As her panting gave way to light breathing, Luna studied the other mare’s expression and for a moment she thought that she saw a twinge of guilt spread across her beautiful muzzle.
“Sister?” Luna’s voice felt hoarse as she struggled to voice her concerns, “I wanted it. I’ve wanted it for a while, so don’t think that you-”
Her words were swiftly silenced before she’d been given a chance to voice her thoughts as her dear sister kissed her with the same lips that had moments ago been used to pleasure her. The smallest twinge of need sparked in her stomach as she tasted what had likely been herself, though that was forgotten as her sister lifted a hoof to gently caress the side of her muzzle. Luna melted into the touch of her sister as their eyes locked on one another’s.
As she leaned in to the ivory mare a wing came to sweep her up in a comforting embrace as the two sisters sat and held each other as the ethereal emptiness around them slowly began to shift and fade into the darkness between Luna’s dreamscape and the waking world.

Celestia’s cheeks ignited in a crimson blush almost immediately upon opening her eyes as the previous night’s dream came back to her. As she lay beneath the covers of her bed she stared at the sky as she ran the previous night’s experiences through her mind once more. Her stomach rolled nervously as she remembered the taste of her younger sister’s fragrant arousal as it dripped down her muzzle.
The princess shook her head to clear the pleasant haze from her thoughts as she expelled a heavy breath and turned her attention towards the day that lay ahead of her. Movement from the other side of the bed snapped her out of her thoughts as she rolled onto her side to observe the source of the disturbance, though what she saw instantly banished the foggy haze from her mind.
Curled up in bed right beside her was her younger sister, though her eyes carried a weariness that wasn’t uncommon thanks to her role as guardian of dreams she smiled sweetly up at her. Celestia found herself stammering in shock as the darker mare’s smile grew into a teasing grin before she leaned in and planted a kiss on her muzzle. “Sleep well, sister?”
