Equinox
The Royal Baths of Canterlot Castle were the quiet private spot, a far cry from the public tour paths that meander through the halls or even the invitation required ballrooms and courtyards yet still more so than even the throne room’s traffic of dignitaries and select few appointments. It was not for lack of space or elegance, it had both of those in spades. If anything was to be credited it would be the abundance of respect for the Princesses and their privacy but a dash of secrecy certainly didn’t hurt. Those select few on the castle staff who were privy to the knowledge were always professional about it, only entering when unoccupied and fixing whatever water fixture needs fixing or cleaning whatever tiles need cleaning promptly and moving on without delay. This meant it was nearly impossible for the total occupants to exceed one. Anyone with a hard stressful job takes their relaxation very seriously and you’d be hard pressed to find a more stressful job in Equestria than being Princess of Night or Day. Both Celestia and Luna appreciated a good soak after the setting of their respective astronomical body. It wasn’t abnormal for either to spend north of an hour unwinding in the heated waters. The full body relaxation offered had a powerful gravity that felt impossible to break away from at times. Toasty sunbeams and the rhythmic chirping of nightlife made waterside naps another popular leisure activity for the regal sisters. However there was still one other leisure activity that took place in the hidden oasis of marble notable not only for how it broke the unspoken rule of only having a sole occupant but also how rarely it occurred. As it would happen that these two facts were intimately related as what was so rare was for those who would participating to be able to do so at the same time. The two were of course the Royal Sisters, Celestia and Luna. The biggest downside of having shifts that were by their very nature diametrically opposed to one another was the consequence that the sisters didn’t have nearly enough time to see each other. They still saw each other but the encounters they did have were much more akin to bumping into each other than spending any meaningful quality time. On occasion one would visit the other who was on duty but rarely would there be much opportunity for conversation outside of greetings and platitudes. That didn’t mean that they didn’t enjoy the silent presence of the other regardless of how busy their royal duties kept them. One might ask why they don’t simply spend their days off together but unlike the citizenry taking a personal day was not an option. They did get holidays off but this was mostly so they could make public appearances in parades or ceremonies. There were still a scant few chances for them to spend the day together and when those days did come around they were always sure to make them very, very special. Today just so happened to be one of those days. Since it was a public holiday there wasn’t much reason to have a function worth royalty showing up for, leaving Celestia and Luna the day and night to do with what they please. And what pleased them was to spend a relaxing day together in the Royal Baths.
The sun still needed to be raised holiday or no holiday so Celestia was up first to do her duty, glad to have it over with quickly. With the essential matters of business out of the way Celestia began her relaxation. Luna, never much of an early bird, would join in later on. To start herself off she made herself a cup of coffee, after having servants throwing themselves at the chance to do any minute task for her it felt good to do something so simple on her own. It did take a bit of fumbling with the machine but in the end she accomplished her goal without making too much of a mess. A couple paper towels later and the Sun Princess was enjoying her morning caffeine dosage. It wasn’t too long before she was tipping back her mug to get the last few trailings to dribble out. Celestia yawned and stretched her wings before she started towards the baths at a leisurely pace, after all she had all the time in the world. She thought to herself how the castle halls were almost eerily empty but it was a definite improvement over their normal state of swarming with tourists, foreign liaisons, and castle staff. Not that she didn’t appreciate everything that those groups do for her, but it was nice to not be swarmed and hounded over a thousand things a second whether it was an autograph request, confirmation of receival of a form for the pre-approval of a meeting to discuss the planning for a possible visit from some international leader, or even just her lunch order. The blissful silence was only interrupted by her own rhythmic hoofsteps and eventually the opening creak of one of the large double doors to the baths. The room was absolutely massive considering its purpose, some super fans of the princesses had long speculated what could occupy that area of the castle floor plan considering not a single civilian had ever entered. There were rumors of it being some sort of bunker or even a torture chamber but these were absolutely unsubstantiated and not taken too seriously by anyone. Other than its size the room was also notable for its large, high windows, several flowing water features, and mosaic tile floors. Immediately the alicorn inhaled inviting the steamy atmosphere into her airways and felt all her muscles untense in a flowing wave of ease. Before long she had removed her royal adornments exposing her matted coat underneath. Even she gets so used to her crown and other accessories that without them her body looked relatively bare. Before entering the pool of water she took some time to examine herself. Most of the population considered her pretty, if not downright gorgeous. Her long elegant legs, resolute muzzle, stark white coat, magnificent wings, and her lean yet powerful figure all that not even to mention her majestic mane. Any one feature would be considered enviable enough to kill for, but all of it put together was on a whole other level of beauty. Despite all this she had never had an encounter with a stallion. Even if her schedule would permit it there would be little reason for it. No matter how long she searched for a proper partner it would be impossible to find one that really understood her. It wasn’t their fault either, if anything it was her’s. After all they couldn’t be blamed for fact that they weren’t centuries old royalty with near boundless magical ability that governed the sky. It was a matter that had no solution and Celestia knew this and at this point it wasn’t something she was even bothered by anymore. Without further delay she delicately placed her front hoof onto the first marble step beneath the water. Descending the steps always felt like a nigh holy experience, like being enveloped by a beautiful spring day. Within minutes of being submerged up to her withers she had dozed off not fully conscious but not quite asleep, just lost to the force of relaxation. Losing track of time seemed to be the exact thing required to summon Luna. Mid morning had already arrived when the creak of the door broke the drone of the flowing water stirring Celestia to alertness. As the door swung open it revealed Luna as the party causing its motion.
“Luna!” Celestia beamed at her sister and began wading over to her.
“Celly!” Luna was already removing her royal garb levitating it onto the floor next to her sister’s. Luna trotted down the steps kicking up substantial splashes before embracing her sister. They both let out a joy filled grunt as they released from each other. By the look on their faces they they hadn’t seen each other in weeks and they had spent every second of them waiting to see each other again. While it may have been that long since they had last exchanged more than half a dozen sentences at once they had at least seen each other. They did make certain to spend a day together like this at least once a year, more if they could help it. Only the unique bond between sisters could motivate this behavior, and the bond was only strengthened by the fact that they were the only ones who could really empathize with each other. Whoever said it’s lonely at the top was only right in the case that you don’t have a sister up there with you. Whatever stress relief they had had so far that day would be dwarfed by that provided by their sisterly quality time. Once they had settled down and gravitated towards the wall of the pool Luna was the first to break the silence. “Remember when Mom used to give us baths together?” Despite being older than some varieties of dirt they both had excellent memories of childhood and talked about it often.
“Oh, you used to hate that. You would always say you were a big girl and could do it by yourself.”
“I did not, I would say that you were too big. I never had any room in there.”
“And what exactly is that supposed to mean?”
“All I’m saying is that you grew out faster than you grew up.”
“Oh is that so?” Celestia had a tone of mock aggression as she swung a hoof through the water splashing Luna. Luna put up her front hooves to block the on coming wave before swiping viciously at the water’s surface. The spirited back and forth died down rather quickly after that, with a pair of sighs they returned to their proverbial corners. More reminiscing and more relaxing followed and a good time was had by all. Late afternoon snuck up with little warning. The shallow angle of the sun reflecting off the tranquil waters reminded Celestia just how long she had been in the waters. She figured if nothing else it would be good to get out and stretch her legs for a bit and get something to eat. “I’m going to get some lunch, do you want anything?” Celestia asked.
“I suppose I should come with you. The moon isn’t going to raise itself and if I don’t get out now then I never will.”
“Fair enough, let’s go.” They exited the bath and made their way for the door.
“Oh it’s too bad that today is already half over. Couldn’t we make the day last just a little longer?”
“Now sister you know we can’t do that.” Celestia couldn’t help but think of how much Luna still acted like a little kid in some ways, but it was better she would want to have a little extra day than have everlasting night. There wasn’t even a discussion on whether they should redress themselves in their regal accessories because they both knew there wasn’t much of a point when the castle was empty except for them. The halls echoed the sounds of their hooves on the tile floors. The light coming through the stained glass windows of the corridor was getting dimmer and dimmer.
“I really should be going.” Luna said before trotting on ahead. Celestia continued toward the kitchen and once there made some rather simple sandwiches for both of them and began boiling some water for tea. Not long after she finished preparing the meal Luna returned having done her task for the day.
“How was it?”
“About the same every other night.”
“What phase is it tonight? I forget.”
“Full.”
“Well that will be nice.”
“I suppose so.” Luna had a habit of getting drained after raising the moon, it was understandable after so many years of being out of practice. Celestia got the same way when she had to do both and it didn’t help to be facing the trauma of what had happened.
“I think I know how to cheer you up.” Celestia only used this tactic when Luna was being extra pouty but it hadn’t failed yet. With her magic she yanked one of her own feathers and brought it under the table and up to the underside of her sister’s chin. So far the plan had gone off without a hitch. The feather began to dance lightning fast assaulting Luna’s chin, she began with a stifled giggle before degenerating into a hearty chuckle and finally giving way to uproarious laughter. Celestia stopped the torment and watched her little sister convulsing on the floor. She stayed incapacitated for longer than at all reasonable only to cover her operations for a retaliation. Within seconds the two most powerful beings in the land were embroiled in a no holds barred tickle fight. Mutual destruction was assured and eventually, reached, which took the form of both of them rolling on the floor in a fit of residual giggles. Once they had both regained full control of their faculties they lied next to each other just a bit longer looking into each other’s eyes. Somehow, it doesn’t matter how, someone, it doesn’t matter who, had draped their wing over the other which was shortly reciprocated. They could have laid there for hours.
“Celly?”
“Yes?”
“Can we get up now?”
“Sure.”
“The floor is cold and hard.” With a fair amount of groaning and stretching they righted themselves and scarfed down the remainders of the meal and headed back for the warm inviting hot spring water. They both took a short dip more to warm up and clean off from the stint of time they spent on the floor. By now the only light coming in was that of the full moon high in the evening sky. It was hard to leave the comforting water for the cool surrounding air but it was done and with some shaking to get rid of the excess water clinging to their coats the sisters were left cold and in the dark and still slightly damp.
“I think it’s time we retire.” Celestia said through chattering teeth.
“Agreed. Will it be my chambers or yours?”
“I say mine.”
“Very well. I’ll be there shortly.” With that the sister grabbed towels and their things and trotted off.
Celestia had just finished building a fire in the hearth in her bedroom when there came a rapping at the door.
“Come in!” Luna entered, dressed in a set of lavender silk pajamas with sleeves running down to her hooves. “Well, aren’t you all dressed up for someone whom I spent all day naked with.”
“Forgive me for wanting to be cozy.”
Celestia turned back to the fire giving a prod here and poke there to ensure that it was sustaining itself. When she turned back towards the door she was just in time to witness her sister’s pajama bottoms fall to the floor revealing the royal purple velvet and black lace lingerie that wrapped around her rump and crotch. “I wanted it to be a surprise!” Luna whined not pausing her undressing. Her top came off to reveal the garment came to a point at her neck with an inlay of lapis lazuli and silver trimming. There was a small window revealing a portion of her stomach lined with white frills. The back had a lattice of black ribbon and lace tied in ornate bows to hold it together.
“You look magnificent as always sis.” Celestia remarked as she began circling her sister for a full view of the intricate nightwear being modeled by the Princess of the Night. It seemed to accentuate every curve she had and allow just enough skin to be seen so as to entice most effectively.
“Thank you sister, you look radiant no matter how you are.” Celestia was still bare as the day she born but with her features that was all she needed. Her figure inherently oozed sensuality, it was imposing as if to say “you find me attractive, don’t you?” technically you didn’t have to answer yes but who knows what happen if you didn’t. The way her she had to look down causing her eyes to be half lidded into a veritable look of passion at all times.
“Well, shall we begin?”
“I thought you’d never ask.” With the affirmative given positions were assumed. Celestia laid on the bed and rolled her legs skyward and splayed them to either side. Luna positioned herself at her sister’s tail end and began to lick her clitoris. The movements of her tongue were swift yet deft teasing each area of her sister’s sensitive spots expertly. Celestia couldn’t help but yelp in delight and anticipation.
“Oh sister! Sister don’t stop now!” She wouldn’t dream of stopping at a time like this, it was exhilarating for her too. Exhilarating beyond just the sexual satisfaction, beyond the taboo of the Royal Sisters sharing this forbidden love, it was a pleasure derived from the understanding between the sisters that in this moment was at its most extreme. They shared in this act of debauched pleasure and it acted as the final piece of the bridge between them. In this moment nothing compared to the connection between them. The two who had experiences unfathomable to everyone else were now experiencing complete oneness. Luna’s tongue got faster and pressed harder covering more area. Celestia was panting with anticipation, her sister was getting closer and closer to driving her past her breaking point. Suddenly Luna pulls away, Celestia’s tingling genitals were assaulted by the cool air before being replaced with a pleasure deeper than before. Luna had pulled away only to penetrate her sister with her horn. Celestia grunted in elation as her sister twisted her horn inside her, there was magic at work inside her. There a warmth emanating from the horn inside her that made every muscle in her body shiver. She cried out one final time, a release of everything she had previously held in. Her juices gushed forth and the horn was removed, she felt like a new woman, completely rejuvenated. Luna stood over her panting sister with a smile of satisfaction from cheek to cheek. Once Celestia had recomposed herself Luna simply turned around and with a swift calculated tug at the ribbon running down her back causing the section of lingerie covering her undercarriage to fall away revealing her waiting marehood.
