“Well, I’m sure they’ll know.” Twilight Sparkle was flying back over to Canterlot once again, in order to ask her idols, the princesses of Equestria, Celestia and Luna, for advice on ruling over the whole of said country. “What is the proper procedure for handling royal guards?” Twilight was not used to having other ponies in the castle aside from her five friends, and more regularly, Starlight Glimmer and Spike.
After greeting the guards in front of Canterlot Castle and confirming that she was who she said she was, exchanging pleasantries as they knew why she was there, she was sure, Twilight began trotting toward the throne room. She was sure that was where the princesses would be – they were always in there around this time in the evening. It was pretty much the only time of day where they were both in the throne room together – well, this and morning, anyway.
Twilight delicately opened the door to the throne room and began, “Hello, princesses! I hope you don’t mind, but I had another ques…” However, she abruptly cut herself off as she realized the words were echoing off the walls of an empty chamber.
This was odd – she had never seen the throne room without either of them before. Well, except for special occasions both good and bad, such as the competition for the Sibling Supreme crown just a week or so earlier or when the Storm King nearly took control of all of Equestria. She felt she would have known already if it were along the lines of the former, and she really crossed her wingtips that it wasn’t something like the latter.
She began searching all over the castle, only bumping into a few guards who knew about as much as she did. Dining hall, grand hall, ballroom – all were sans princess save for the lone little purple Alicorn.
Finally, in an act of final desperation, she decided to look in the one place where she least thought, at the very least, Celestia might be – her personal chambers. If that failed, she wasn’t sure if she would check Luna’s as well, or just give up for the night and head home.
As she rounded the corner, she noted that there appeared to be a light coming from the room – soft, but there. However, she noted that there were no guards standing watch – she was sure that if they were in there, there would be at least one guard. That was what she had always noticed, whenever Celestia would invite Twilight back to her chambers in order to discuss the latest book either one of them was reading (though it was usually Twilight), or to share a cup of tea, or even just to ask how things were going in school for her #1 most faithful student.
Twilight briefly considered giving up for the night, and heading home, but her curiosity got the better of her, and she slowly crept towards the door.
What she did not expect to hear was what sounded like voices – almost certainly Celestia and Luna, coming through the walls. What’s more is that it sounded like one of them was… moaning? Was that Celestia? What could Luna be doing to her to cause such a sound? Just what the hay was going on?!
Twilight dismissed all those questions from her mind and decided to get an answer for herself. She crept on the tips of her hooves, being careful to not make a sound, until she arrived in front of the door. Then, she slowly lit up her horn, being ever so careful to turn the knob slowly… slowly… until she had turned it as far as it would go.
She pushed open the door, not even making a creak – she was glad she remembered exactly how to handle Celestia’s door so as to not make a peep – and peered inside.
What she saw nearly made her fall right on her flank – there was Celestia, bent over, her hind legs splayed, so that she could see all of her mentor. While she had sometimes imagined what that might look like, she was not prepared to have it displayed before her so suddenly and unexpectedly.
She gathered her wits about her, noticing that there seemed to be some sort of spreader locked on to Celestia’s hind hooves. And then she noticed Luna, standing to the side of Celestia, and holding a large wooden paddle with her magic. There was a devilish smile across the muzzle of the dark blue and black Alicorn. She brought down the paddle with an audible thwack and another moan from Celestia, the movement of the paddle causing the lone candle’s flame to flicker.
Was this some sort of punishment? Had Luna gone rogue again? No, no, Twilight was sure that Celestia was enjoying this, judging from the string of juices bridging the gap between Celestia’s hindquarters and the paddle. String… of… juices?
At this point, Twilight was just barely holding it together. As if to push her over the edge, Celestia then cried out, “Oh, Lulu, yes! Please, don’t stop! I’ve been so naughty to you and need punishment!”
Twilight’s body reacted before her mind could fully process the words, slowly starting to shuffle away backwards, trying to get far enough away so that she could just fly away and start trying to process what she had just seen.
The universe apparently had other plans, however, as she happened to bump into a conveniently placed vase – it couldn’t have been more conveniently placed if Pinkie Pie herself had personally overseen it! - that slowly but surely began to topple. Twilight began to beg and plead with the invisible horn of fate to intercede. Her prayers went unanswered as the vase toppled to the ground and shattered with a loud crash!
Twilight cringed, squeezing her eyes shut and silently cursing to herself – maybe they hadn’t heard it? “What was that?” …Crap.
She was utterly frozen as Celestia and Luna slowly emerged from the room, taking a look down the hall, and finally seeing her.
“Twilight?” Celestia began.
That was all it took – Twilight began spewing forth a stream of semi-intelligible gibberish – among them were “paddle”, “spreader”, and “sex game”, as her head got lighter and ligher, until finally, she turned almost as white as Rarity and collapsed to the ground in a faint.
Twilight rubbed her head as she woke up – where was she? As she slowly grew more aware of her surroundings, the area looked more and more familiar, until the realization hit her like a piano dropped on her head by the local Ponyville mailmare. This was Celestia’s room. But did that mean…
“Oh good, you’re awake now, Twilight,” she heard the pony she admired most speak.
“Princess Celestia! Wait, what am I doing here? Ugh, I feel like I hit my head and had the strangest dream ever! It involved you, and… Princess Luna, and… Oh my gosh, Princess Luna! Please tell me you didn’t see that dream!” Twilight had a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach.
“I’m… afraid that was no dream, Twilight Sparkle,” Luna replied, a slight blush growing on her features.
“But you… and, and… were you two…” Twilight paused here, considering her words carefully, before deciding to go with the semi-scientific term, as she was uncomfortable with the situation already, “…having sex?”
Celestia and Luna glanced at one another, before nodding. Then Celestia spoke, “Yes, that is the case, Twilight. We had figured we would tell you at some point – I just wish you didn’t have to find out in this way.”
“Wha… bu… huh?! But you’re sisters! Isn’t that something you’re not supposed to do with your siblings?!” She had never even considered Shining Armor in such a way – the fact that she even had a hint of that thought now made her stomach turn.
This time, Luna sighed before speaking, “I think it’s time to tell you about the history of our relationship – so that even if you never truly approve of it, you might at least understand our little secret.”
Author's Note
Since I know I'm going to be asked this by someone eventually, no, aside from the name schemes, Hunter X Hunter played no part in my inspiration for this story. Why did I choose that as inspiration for the naming schemes then? Because it seemed funny at the time - no other grand reason.

“Wha… bu… huh?! But you’re sisters! Isn’t that something you’re not supposed to do with your siblings?!”
Luna sighed before speaking, “I think it’s time to tell you about the history of our relationship – so that even if you never truly approve of it, you might at least understand our little secret.”
Twilight made to protest, that she would never feel such a thing about the two ponies she admired most – but the words died in her throat. She knew it would be a lie.
Luna began to narrate, “It first began back around the time just before Tia and I discovered out special talents, when Star Swirl had asked us to come and be the princesses of the new land called Equestria…”

“Ugh, I can’t believe it! Another one who just can’t treat me like a normal pony!” Celestia shouted as she stormed into the throne room. Luna knew what this meant – another potential suitor for Celestia had bitten the dust. So far, she had zero luck at finding anypony who would treat her like anything but a princess, being all too deferential and distant. Or at least, that’s what she always complained about.
“You have wings and a horn, and are almost 100 years old already, yet you look like you’re not a day above 20,” Luna chuckled, knowing this last part would really get under Celestia’s skin, “And to top it all off, you’re still a blank flank. What part of you screams ‘normal pony’, exactly?”
She expected Celestia to get all huffy, like usual, and to come after Luna – where the proceedings would eventually devolve into a semi-friendly sister tickle fight. Or she expected that she would be reminded that she was also a blank flank, and was well over 70 herself, to which she could always retort that it was normal for her, since she only looked like she was 16.
She did not expect Celestia to pause, becoming eerily silent, before she heard a sniffle. She turned around to see Celestia with her face scrunched up, tears falling from it.
Luna was shocked, she had never seen her sister react in this way. Before she could get out of her mental freeze, Celestia was speaking, “I know that, okay? You… you don’t have to rub it in…” She then took off running towards her room.
“Celie, wait!” Luna cried out, feeling a pang of guilt eminate in her heart. “I’m sorry!” She took off running down the hallway after her sister, but by the time she was halfway to Celestia’s room, she heard the door slam shut.
Reaching it, she tentatively knocked. “Celie? I know you’re in there. I’m sorry about that – I wasn’t trying to really hurt your feelings!”
“Go away, I just want to be left alone right now,” came the answer from the other side.
Luna’s face scrunched up – she knew she had really messed up this one.
The next day, Luna arrived for her magic training in the castle courtyard with Star Swirl – she was on time for once! And Celestia was still nowhere to be found. Her heart sunk.
“Alright, I see you’re here, Luna, but where might Celestia be?” Star Swirl began, making Luna jump slightly – for such an old pony, he could be surprisingly sneaky. “This isn’t like her – usually, it would be you ditching the magic lessons.”
Luna pouted for a moment before responding, “Well, I was just teasing Celestia yesterday about her lack of success with potential suitors, expecting it to be like usual, where we either ended up in a tickle fight, or else she would tease me right back – but I think I really hurt her. I know I messed up, but I wish I knew how to make it right!”
Star Swirl sighed, his face screwing up in thought. “I fear that, with the lifespans of you two, even if she, or you, are someday able to find somepony who can look past your princesshood, in the blink of an eye, you will find yourselves heartbroken anew, as the candle of vitality burns so much quicker in normal ponies than in Alicorns such as yourselves.” Luna wondered what exactly Star Swirl meant, why he was telling her this, and just what the ache she felt in her heart at that moment actually meant, before Star Swirl continued, “Anyway, you had best go and get her yourself. Make sure she knows that you are there to apologize, and see why she reacted the way she did.
He didn’t need to tell her twice – she was already sprinting down the hallway towards Celestia’s room.
Knock knock “Celie, may I please come in?” No reponse. “Please, Celestia! I just want to apologize, and talk about stuff.” The response was the door lock being undone. Finally.
Luna entered the room, only to see a tear-stained Celestia, her mane drooping down off her bed. “Is it alright if I go ahead and sit next to you, Celie?”
“…Alright.”
“I just wanted to say I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings like that. I was just teasing, like I always am.”
“Well, sometimes that teasing really hurts – I try to play along for your sake, but sometimes it really stings me, trying to keep strong, and not show how much the rejections hurt.”
Luna felt that ache in her heart well up again. “I’m sorry – hey, I kind of admire you for that, putting yourself out there like that. I know that I’m too cowardly to do anything of the sort.”
Celestia chuckled, a sad smile starting across her face. “Nah, it’s understandable – it’s a scary thing, opening yourself up like that, only to have your true self rejected in favor of some ideal that the pony across from you can’t see past.”
“So… is that what happened?”
Celestia sighed. “Yeah, same as usual, I suppose. I dunno, this one hurt more than usual, even though it really didn’t go any differently than any of the other ones. I guess I was really hoping it would work out this time. Whether that’s because the stallion was extra dreamy this time, or just because this was the 10th try, and I thought that it would surely work out once I reached double digits,” she chuckled.
Luna also couldn’t help but laugh – she enjoyed these moments with her sister, the only pony she’d spent her whole life with. It felt like they were the only ones… who truly knew each other…
Suddenly, Star Swirl’s mysterious words came back to her, and she felt she had a better understanding of what he meant. She was also beginning to think that she finally knew what that ache she was feeling in her heart was.
She suddenly lurched forward, her feelings dictating that it would be appropriate to go ahead and kiss Celestia now. What was the worst that could happen? Surely things couldn’t be awkward between them forever.
Their lips met, and Luna felt a jolt of electricity race up and down her spine. She felt Celestia try to pull away, at first, before melting into the kiss. She had never kissed anypony before, but she guessed that was a good sign.
After they broke apart, Celestia could only stammer for a few seconds, before finally saying, “Luna, I – that was… amazing! None of the kisses I received from any of my dates ever felt so good as that!”
So she was right, it was pretty amazing. “Do you want to do it again, Celie? I’d be up for it!”
Celestia could barely get out an “Absolutely!” before their lips were locked together once again, battling for dominance. However, this time, there was a greater urgency behind it, as instinctively, they opened their mouths, each allowing the other’s tongue to probe.
They finally broke apart again, this time panting. “Celie, I – I feel tingly all over my body,” Luna began, her mind still swimming in the vast reaches of outer space. “Also, I feel a warmth in my… well, in my nethers.”
Celestia smirked, surely secure in the knowledge advantage that came with being an older sister. “Well, it appears that you enjoyed the kiss as much as I did.” She paused, bringing her hoof to her lip, perhaps thinking about something. “You know, I was waiting to go further than kissing until I found somepony suitable, but if the reaction we engendered in each other is anything to go off of, I truly think we are suitable for each other.”
“Yeah, plus, like Star Swirl said, we’re not gonna outlive each other!”
“Did he say that now?” Celestia chuckled, “That wise old sorcerer.”
“Anyway, what did you have in mind?” Luna was genuinely curious now.
“Lie back, and let me do the work from here.” Celestia then started to work her tongue down Luna’s torso – her moves showed an obvious inexperience and sloppiness.
Not that Luna seemed to mind – she couldn’t suppress the moans escaping through her maw. “Celie, whatever it is you’re doing, please, please don’t stop.”
Celestia took note and circled around a couple more times before moving down to Luna’s crotchboobs. She made it a point of pausing there, making sure to give each nipple many flicks of the tongue, covering each of them in her warm saliva.
Luna was really moaning a storm now, as she felt a warm wetness begin to grow in her marehood. Her arousal now perfumed the room.
It was not unnoticed by Celestia, who decided to move down there with her tongue. Once the appendage hit just her outer lips, Luna felt her mind go entirely blank.
Celestia worked her tongue in and out, and Luna felt almost certain that she was going to go permanently numb.
Eventually, she felt a spring grow in the pit of her stomach, as she wondered what it could possibly be. “Celie, I-“
Celestia licked once more, and suddenly, it felt like an explosion went off in her nethers, as she squirted liquid all over Celestia’s face. Celestia smirked and started licking it off her face. “So, what did you think?”
“Celie, that was… the best thing I’ve ever experienced. Thank you,” Luna said. She was about to offer to return the favor – it was only fair – when she remembered why she came here, was sent back here, in the first place. “Oh no! I totally forgot! Magic lessons with Star Swirl! He sent me to get you!”
“Uh, hold on, let me quickly rinse my face off, and then we’ll go!”
When they finally got back out to Star Swirl, he asked them why they had been gone so long, and they quickly came up with a story about having a good cry together, with lots of hugging and everything. Star Swirl didn’t seem to buy it, but he must have decided it wasn’t a matter worth pursuing.
