Chapter I: Trapped on Talos I
I looked down at my cut hand as I ran from the Phantom, it the preadator, me the prey.
I would feel my mind screaming out in pain, every muscle in my body burning, as if there were solar flares blazing the earth, until it was irradiated.
Somehow, there was a part of my brain that told me to bandage my wounds later and run now. So, I stood up straight and pulled out a GLOO Cannon and started to parcore my way up to a ledge.
As I was almost there, the Phantom grabbed hold of my leg and blasted it with a ball of energy.
I could feel it, the broken bone struggling to function. I screamed out in pain and then pointed my GLOO Cannon towards the Phantom and blasted it in the face to stagger it while I slid safely inside the vent shaft.
Just as I got in, the Phantom recovered and tried to phase through the shaft, however, I sealed it up with GLOO.
I then thought to myself “Well, looks like I’m not going there anymore”

I crawled myself into my office with the neuromods from the Psycotronics Lab and the fabrication plans for some shotgun shells. I also walked over to my locker and stored my Spare Medkits in it.
I had been on this station for 6 months and had witnessed the typhon spread in 3 days. Luckily, I had scavenged enough supplies to bring with me on an escape pod to the moon.
I marked off a section on my map that said PSYCOTRONICS on it and turned all my excess junk into materials.
As I walked over to the fabricator, I Heard a sudden bang. I looked over and found my lamp had crashed on the floor, However, my lamp was still on the counter. “This again?” I said as I grabbed out my Artemis gun and shot both the lamps, killing two mimics at once.
“I have been preparing for this escape for 3 days now.” I said to myself, “Don’t let all you’ve prepared for go to waste.”
As I crafted the necessary Neuromods, I inserted the typhon organ I had grabbed from a deceased Phantom before being detected by the other one. I then pushed it into my eye (rather my brain) and began to change rapidly. My hands were enveloped by the same skin as the typhon and I quickly fell to the ground.
I then felt something that I had never felt before, a surge of power coursing through my veins as if my genes were on fire. I noticed my hand had created a energy ball, similar to the one the typhon had used on me earlier to break my leg.
I said “Speaking if the devil...” I looked down at where the bone should have been broken and saw I was completely standing and not just limping like before.
As I look at the door that said: SHUTTLE BAY, I walked myself towards the door to check on the condition of the escape pod. As I walked Down to the pod, I though of all this hell ensued during that one early morning.

3 DAYS EARLIER:
As I finished hardwiring the fuel canisters to the engine turbine systems of the shuttle I took a deep breath of relief that my late night’s work was done.
It was about 5:00 in the morning for me and I had decided to ask my boss, Lynette if I could take off that day to regain my energy. (Really to spend time with Vanessa)
She walked up to the pods and inspected them. She had noticed that the engine was set but the turbines still needed a cleaning.
“Fine” she said, “Take the day off, but, tomorrow I want you back here by 9:00 on the dot.” I quickly obliged to her decision and said “Thanks” as I walked out the door slowly. Meanwhile, my girlfriend (yes this is the romantic relationship part, which probably won’t turn out well with most of you) Vanessa waited outside, having retired for the day 2 hours earlier.
As we walked to the Talos I entrance hall, Vanessa said “Where do you think we should go now that we’re off today.” I thought about it and said, “How about going out for a spacewalk”
She quickly gave me a confused/worried look and said “It’s probably not good for a person from the Psycotronics lab to go flying around in space” she said “I know that you have had more experience, so can’t you teach me the basics before I actually start to fly around.”
I said, “Ok, I’ll teach you the basics, even though you usually are the one to act first and not think it through” when I said that she gave me a shove to the stomach and I shoved her back playfully.
Once we got to the area where the air locks were, we each grabbed an oxygen tank and an attachable helmet. The doors around us then sealed everything outside and opens up to reveal the bright abyss that was space.
I then said to her “The symbol on the left represents your health, and the symbol on the right represents the amount of oxygen you have left.” I said “One more thing, the numbers on the left also represent your current speed.”
She said “Ok” and willingly let me take her out into space. As we spun around the black void, we got a little carried off course and spun wildly around before getting closer to the station.
Then, in that moment, Vanessa embraces me. Not of sadness of pain like on earth (although we could actually feel each other more than in these suits) but of love and trust. I then felt that warmth indirectly and embraced her back as we drifted back towards the station.
To think, we could have had a life, a family, CHILDREN even would make us happy.
Unfortunately, fate had other plans for us...
For her..........

As I got pulled from my thoughts back to reality, I checked up on the pod and loaded the last oxygen tank I’d thought I’d need.
I then gathered all the cutlery and other junk I didn’t need and threw my last recycler charge at the massive pile of coffe cups, vintage guns, chairs and a microscope.
I then started to fabricate 5 more neuromods for the trip (because I was sure that I’d find more on the moon) and pulled out my medkits (accept for two) from the locker and carried them down all the way to the escape pod.
I then went back to test out the new prototype constructor (fabricator but smaller and handheld) and it seemed to work fine.
I then decided to take the last few things I needed: some ammunition, my Artemis gun, GLOO Gun, shotgun, and Q-Beam which I had found in the beams lab earlier.
Before taking off to the pod myself, I turned to my computer and pulled up a tab that said //RECORD// and opened it.
As the camera turned on I said “Testing, testing, 1, 2, 3......... Ok this things on, ok.” Then I said “ If your wondering who I am and where I am, I’m Kevin Warasham and I’m probably on a path to the moon right now. If your seeking refuge here, there’s some food in the kitchen, medkits in the locker and a fabricator to your left. You are welcome to stay here as long as you like, But, Vanessa, if there even is a chance you are still alive, this is the code to unlock the door” I said as I held up a string of numbers that were the numbers of the letters of the alphabet spelling out: THE PASSCODE IS IHOPETHISWORKS.
As I looked back at the camera I said “If you manage to survive here, block the whole area up and never come out. The typhon are dangerous. I only have a supply that will last you three months and water that goes of forever until the tanks in the other room run out. This is Kevin Warasham logging off and to those who make it, Godspeed to you.” I said as I ended the tape and started to walk towards the door to the shuttle room.
As I got to the door I pressed the locking mechanism to ensure that no one would use the other escape pod for any stupid or selfish reasons and walked towards the pod’s sealing hatch.
Once I was in the ship, I closed the hatch and started up the engines. I then took off slowly and had that same feeling I had felt three days before. This time not of warmth and love, but of harsh feeling of sadness as I drifted out to the one place I would know how to get back to Earth: the moon.
Author's Note

A week later
*****************************************
I drifted endlessly through the dark, inky abyss that was called space. I could feel my mind slowly going into insanity even though I convinced myself I wasn’t. I wondered to myself “Did anyone even survive the Typhon outbreak?”
*****************************************
I remembered something my boss had told me a few months earlier. There was also a base on the moon that was experimenting with Typhon neuromods just like on Talos I. I then looked at a radio broadcast channel on the control pad and heard no response
*****************************************
This was it. If the Typhon had gotten to the moon, they surely would have gotten to earth by now. I wondered if everyone was dead, shouldn’t I be as well.
I then realized that I could end all the misery of my life, right then and there. I could finally go see my mom, who had passed away when I was just a baby from a overdose
*****************************************
20 years before.......
“Dad, what ever happened to mom?” I asked
“That’s a story for another time, my wee lad.” he said in his thick Irish accent.
I asked again “Dad will you please tell me what happened to mom?” He said that we would discuss it when I was older. I never knew older ment the next day.
*****************************************
My dad got home from work at about 6:30 pm. I was busy working on a science project centered around gravity. He the went into his room where my Aunt, Amelia followed him into his room.
I snuck outside the door and I heard little snippets of what they were saying.
“ Amelia, I don’t know what to do. I got fired from my job......” and the rest of the chatter from him I didn’t hear. My aunt, drinking her glass of vodka (like she always does) said to my father. “ So now your a failure, just like your father. I told ye that going into that business was a bad idea, but you never listened to me”
“ WELL IT’S NOT MY FAULT THIS SHITE ENSUED!!!” My dad roared at Amelia. “I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW HIS MUM WAS ADDICTED TO METH!!!”
I was confused. “What does that even mean?!?” I thought to myself. Just as I went down the stairs, my aunt saw me. With a mad rage in her eyes, she struck me with her glass.
The pain was unlike anything I had ever imagined. It dropped down my face like endless cascades of rain droplets. My father saw me and immediately went to the phone.
I never understood what happened when I was 13, but I obviously knew that the place I was sent to was a boarding school.
*****************************************
I returned back to reality. I pointed the gun to my head. “This was it” I thought “Vanessa, I’m sorry if I couldn’t see you then, but I can see you now.”
Just as I was about to hold the trigger, a portal opened. The pod immediately started gravitating towards the portal and I got sucked in.
*****************************************
I was pressed against the wall as if a drunken sailor was about to hit me with one of those fresh bottles of beer when I started seeing really strange things.
I thought that my mother’s hallucinations had finally gotten to me. As I drifted through the portal, I saw different dimensions. MANY, many different dimensions.
At last I resurfaced through one of the portals. I noticed that my pod was hurtling towards a frozen area of the planet. “Oh boy......” I thought as I hurtled into the atmosphere.
*****************************************
I woke up to my pod completely buried in snow.
I wondered since there was snow on this planet, could there also be some sort of life.
Then I started to search for my supplies. I found my Artemis golden gun as well as my shotgun, Q-beam and wrench. I also scavenged some neuromods and cans of food and some tea that I had brought along with me.
I left the rest of the food in the pod and locked it. It would only respond to voice commands from the Talos I crew, so I was alright there.
*****************************************
After a while, I was wandering far from the pod. I was lost. Both figuratively and literally. Only thing I had keeping me alive now was some tea, food, and my life support.
I soon laid down in the snow, exhausted from the rigorous hinting I had did earlier. Although when I laid down, something very peculiar happened.
I was suddenly laying in a type of gateway with lush grass surrounding me and a crystal gate above my head. I thought to myself “Is this Heaven?!!”
I soon noticed a structure that looked a spire. My mind went racing. I said to myself “Looks like Fermi was wrong and right, in a way.”
*****************************************
I waited until night so I wouldn’t be detected by any of the life forms living there. I slowly crept towards the spire. It seemed to be made up of some sort of crystalline substance. I slowly ascended the stairs till I came to what seemed like a throne room.
I looked around the corner and saw some guards standing near the throne with what looked to be a pony with a mane that was a mix of purple pink and yellow and had a pink body. Next to he was....... A unicorn that had a white body and blue hair as well as a horn position on its or “His” upper forehead.
Just as I was observing them, I dropped my can of tea. I instantly knew I was screwed.
*****************************************
The guard’s weapons seemed to me primitive than anything I found on Talos I. They used spears and some form of kinetic energy using their horns as catalysts.
As I ran away, one of the guards punctured my suit. It wasn’t going to harm me because the planet was filled with oxygen, but it would be difficult to survive the extreme cold outside of what seemed to be a paradise.
As soon as I ran down the stairs, a group of six equines stood in the doorway. The one that was supposedly the leader of the group looked shocked and pinned me down with some field while the one wit an orange mane kicked me in the head with both her hind legs
What happened after was strange to me, although I remembered none of it. All I remembered was that I woke up in a prison. Yes
