Hunter was always a nice person. Yes, he could sometimes be a sarcastic jackass at times, but most people know him as the silent nice person who likes to help others. This began when he tried to get one of H.p. Lovecraft’s books: the Necronomicon. He was sent the actual grimoire with the language translated by H.P. Lovecraft himself for future readers. He shrugged this off as a very lucky mistake as he thought he got one that the author himself used to add any extra details in himself to make it better.

His idea of the book changed drastically after he was dared by one of his friends to try out a spell. He wanted to do an easy one that allowed him to summon fire into his hands. Much to their surprise, it worked, but he immediately had to leave due to unforeseen consequences. He then began to study the book and read H.P. Lovecraft’s notes on how to make his mana pool larger. He became so engrossed with it that he eventually stopped talking to anyone... even his family. He became a recluse to further his studies with the grimoire.

Eventually, he was picked out by an academy that has been doing an annual ritual that would summon a random creature to join the school along with their known, or unknown, familiar. They put him through a test where he had to use his magic in front of the whole school to protect them. Hell, broke loose when he was taken to the academy where he then realizes what his studies have led him to and what class of Mage he was. He was a Necromancer, the most hated class in the entire academy and he was the only one.
