It has been over a thousand years since the first massive Green Tide that signaled the arrival of the Orcs in Equestria. In one nearly unstoppable wave of carnage and destruction, they rampaged across the world looting and pillaging and killing everything and every creature they could find. Their mad rampage had no real direction, no real goal, and so the two ruling sisters of Equestria, Celestia and Luna, finally maneuvered them into one great and final battle at the entrance to the badlands, the Dead Pass.

Once the fighting was done, the dead counted for, their injuries treated, the great warboss dead at their hooves, and the majority of the orcs routed into the badlands as they had planned, the two sisters continued their eternal rule over Equestria as the beloved saviors of the nation.

But, no matter how hard they tried, they could never get rid of the orc menace. So Equestria must remain vigilant at all times and keep a watchful eye over the orcs, lest another great Waagh surface once more. And though they speculate often, Equestrian scholars have no idea how the orcs arrived in their world in the first place. Only a single perpetual person knows, but though he must commit these great sins he is unable to stop lest his soul be torn apart.
