Flash Sentury was walking home from school. He had no friends and was walking home alone. The reason for this was because he thought he was misunderstood because he was told by his teachers that he was "special". In all honesty, people avoided him because of who his character was. He was a troublemaker who caused trouble where ever he went. A lot of people also thought that it was bad to play or be seen with him. He started to lose grip of society but there was one reason why he kept coming back. He was in love with a girl that he met at school.
It all started when a senoir girl bumped into him by accident and kept walking because she couldn't hear him because of her Beats headphones. A yellow-orange girl with red and yellow hair noticed him and approached him.
"Are you okay? That was pretty rude of her to not come back to help you." She said as she helped him pick up his stuff.
"I'm okay. Thank you for helping me pick up my things." Flash said.
"Your welcome. My name is Sunset. What's yours?"
"Flash."
"I like that name. I would love to stay and chat but I have to get to class. See you later, Flash."
"Bye, Sunset." Flash felt enchanted by everything about Sunset. She noticed him in a good way opposed to how everyone saw him as a troublemaker. What he didn't know was that she had never heard of who he was.
Later at lunch, Sunset was sitting with a few other girls and saw Flash sitting alone. They then noticed she was looking at him. "Sunset, don't pay attention to him or you'll get the virus." One girl said.
"What virus?" Sunset asked.
"The Hypervirus. It's based on his name and attitude. Everywhere he goes, there's always trouble. If you want to help yourself, stay away from him." Another girl explained.
"That is absurb. I'm going to go talk to him. All he needs is a friend." Sunset then walked over to Flash and sat next to him.
"What did they say about me? It was the "virus", wasn't it?" Flash asked. Sunset then nodded. "I hope you know that is bullshit."
"I do." Sunset said. Flash had three sisters called the Dazzlings. He looked up to them because everyone adored them. Adagio was a teacher at a daycare, Aria was one of the most popular kids in school, and Sonata was the school president. He also considered them to be the closest to him. The only problem was, he annoyed them to the extent where they would say, "Don't talk to me for the rest of the day." This usually left him sad for the rest of the day. He wants to tell everyone how he feels, but was afraid everyone would judge him for who he was.
On his way back home, he saw a woman grabbing a teenage girl aggressively. He knew he had seen that woman before along with the girl. It was principal Abacus Cinch and Upper Crust. "Get in the car!" Principal Cinch yelled.
"No! I don't want to!" Upper Crust yelled back. Flash's instincts told him that he needed to save the girl. So he called the cops and told them his location. While he was doing this, Principal Cinch saw him.
"What are you looking at? Get lost, kid." Principal Cinch said. Flash had to do something. He knew that he couldn't live with himself if he didn't. He then pushed her down. "You little brat! You're going to regret that!" Principal Cinch said as she tried to get up. She then smiled evily as police sirens wailed in the distance. Flash then turned his attention to Upper Crust as she ran away to a nearby alley. The police then arrived and assumed that Flash assaulted Principal Cinch.
"Hello, Abacus Cinch. Is this boy messing with you?" The policeman said. Flash was surprised to know that the police knew who she was.
"I'm so glad you're here. I was only defending another person she was forcing into her car." Flash explained. The policeman then had a evil grin which surprised Flash. Little did he know that Principal Cinch got up. She then pushed him into the ground and laughed.
"I told you that you would regret that." Cinch said as Flash tried to get up. "Stay down!" She said as she kicked him into the wall. Unaware to Cinch and the policeman, the mysterious girl was watching the whole thing and ran away.
"What should I do with him?" The policeman asked.
"No more. You've done well Rover. We can leave, but there's just one last thing to do." Principal Cinch said as she got a knife out. "Hopefully you've learned your lesson, you little shit." She said as she cut Flash's face three times on the cheek. After they left, he got up and limped home. When he got home, he was about to open the door but was surprised when Adagio Dazzle opened the door.
"Flash, where the fuck have you been?" She asked.
"I got lost." Flash lied. Adagio then noticed he was limping and had scars on his face.
"Bullshit. Tell me the truth this time. How the hell did you get those scars on your face?" Adagio asked while rubbing her little brother's scars.
"I tried to protect someone but got beat up. I even called the cops but they were corrupt." Flash explained.
"Okay, come inside. We'll continue this once you get cozy. Dinner's ready." Once they got inside, Flash saw Aria and Sonata folding their arms and looking at him.
Ah shit, here we go again. Flash thought as he sat down and ate.
"Flash, explain to us what happened." Adagio commanded. Flash then explained and left his sisters wide-eyed and in shock.
"I'm going to bed now. Goodnight." Flash said.
"Goodnight, Flash." The Dazzlings said.
The next day came and Flash was going to school. "Flash, I have to go to band rehersal tonight. Please be careful walking home, okay." Sonata said. Flash then nodded.
"Bye, everyone. Have a great day at school." Adagio said as they all went into the schoolhouse.
After a day at high school, he was back. At home he liked practicing magical spells alone in his room. His favorite was the shrinking spell because he loves staying hidden and always felt like that around others. When he came home late, he saw there was a slumber party in the Dazzlings' room. He knew that Sonata wasn't home because of band and that Adagio was working late. He was also always curious about alot of things. That's why he loves to easedrop. He shrank down to the size of a grain of sand and teleported next to a pillow. He then saw that the Shadowbolts and Aria were laughing histerically. "So, we already told our secret. What's yours?" Indigo Zap asked.
"Are you sure you want to know? It is pretty deep." Aria said.
"Don't worry, we shook on it." Sour Sweet said.
"Okay, well I don't want him knowing this."
"Him? You mean Flash? Don't worry, the door didn't open." Lemon Zest. Flash then got curious and teleported onto Sugarcoat's middle glasses frame.
"As you all know, Flash has a multitude of problems. He has autism, A.D.D., and is a troublemaker. He is also so fucking annoying. He has ruined alot of things for us such as my Nintendo DS and my instrument. How on earth do you drop things on accident? Eversince our parents died, I thought he would change but that isn't the case. He is useless to me. He doesn't do anything but eat away at my life." Aria said. This broke Flash's heart.
"You didn't mean that, did you? That's pretty cruel to say. Don't you still love him?" Sugarcoat asked as Flash teleported onto Aria's nose.
"Yes, I do love him, but I also wish he was never born." Aria said. Flash then broke down into tears after hearing her say that. He then teleported onto the roof to talk to himself.
"So, it's true. First people school hate me and now I find out that my very own sister, who I looked up to, despices me as well. This is all my fault that everyone around me suffers. I'm nothing more than just the scum of Earth. I don't even belong here." Flash said as the Shadowbolts left. He then cried himself to sleep. In his sleep he just couldn't let go of Aria's words. It stuck to him like gum on a shoe.
"...I wish he was never born."
The next day came and the Dazzlings cooked breakfast for Flash while he was in bed. They then came into his room and said, "Hey, little brother. How are you doing?" Flash then woke up and saw the breakfast in front of him.
"Good. Thanks for the breakfast." Flash said as he dug in.
"We also need to tell you something. I'm going to college in a city far away from here. I'll also be living with my boyfriend." Aria said.
"You are?"
"Yes. I may come and visit but you won't see me for the next six months."
"Okay..."
Two weeks passed and Aria was about to leave with her boyfriend. Flash ran up to Aria and hugged her tightly. Aria then left as Flash was about to go upstairs and practice magic. He was then stopped by Adagio who told him she'll be gone for the weekend with some friends. He then continued to go to his room and opened his book of spells. While he was reading, he looked out the window and got lost in his own thoughts. So, she's going to college with her boyfriend. She's never been this happy before. I guess I am the reason she left so quickly. Flash thought. He felt awful because he thought he was a bad brother.
For the whole weekend, he stayed in his room whenever possible and reflected on his past desicions. He remembered making offensive jokes in public. He remembered bothering Aria while she was watching T.V.. He also remembered the lack of personal space he gave everyone he met. Then the words that came out of Aria's mouth made even more sense.
"...I wish he was never born."
"Me too, Aria. Now I know why they call me special. I'm everyone's 'special' punishment." Flash said as he created burn marks on his arms. He then later fell asleep.
In his dream, he was in a pitch black space and heard a raspy voice say, "Hello, Flash."
"What the fuck? Who are you and how do you know my name?" Flash asked.
"Who I am is not
What you need to seek,
But there may be a chance
For you to have a peek.
The two of us are connected
Because we have our fate sealed,
Bring me the Shadowbolts, Twilight Sparkle, and her dog
For the answers shall be revealed." The voice told him as Flash woke up. He then heard a loud crash.
What the hell? He thought to himself as he shrunk down. He then teleported behind a vase of flowers and saw the Shadowbolts, Twilight Sparkle, and Sonata were making breakfast. Time to introduce myself. He thought to himself as he teleported back to his room. He then put on pajamas and walked downstairs. "Hi, everyone." He said with a confused face.
"Hello, Flash. Good morning. Why do you look confused?" Sonata said with a smile.
"Why are the Shadowbolts and Twilight here? And what was that noise?"
"That was just a plate. Don't worry, we have extras. The Shadowbolts are only here because they wanted to see you."
"That's unlikely considering that I don't have any friends." Sour Sweet then approached Flash.
"Do you know why were here?" She asked.
"No, not at all." Flash lied. Sour Sweet then grinned.
"How'd you sleep?" She asked. This surprised Flash.
"Why the hell would you ask that? Sounds pretty creepy to me." He said.
"Recall your dream
So you can answer me,
Until then,
He's nothing more than a memory that will soon flee." Sour Sweet said. Flash noticed she said he.
"What do you mean by 'he'?" Flash asked.
"The voice, of course." Sour Sweet answered. Flash felt he could trust her.
"I had a weird dream. I heard a raspy voice talk to me and say my name. I'm not good with analyzing poetry, but I think he was telling me to bring the Shadowbolts, Twilight, and her dog to him." Flash explained as another familiar face approached him. "Pardon me, but have we met before?" Flash asked.
"I see you still have those scars." She said as she felt his scars. He then remembered who she was.
"Y-you're that girl I saved!" Flash exclaimed.
"Correct. My name is Upper Crust. Thank you. You're not as bad as people say." Upper Crust said. Sugarcoat then approached him as the oven rang.
"Sonata, what was that?" She asked.
"Oh. That's just the cookies I baked. I'll be right back." Sonata said as she went into the kitchen.
"How much do you know about magic, Flash?" Sugarcoat asked softly.
"I know alot. Why?" Flash asked softly.
"Demonstrate a stealth spell for us. Do it before she get's back."
"Okay." Flash then shrank to the size of a grain of sand as Sonata came in.
"Cookies are here. Wait, where's Flash?" Sonata asked.
"He just went upstairs." Sugarcoat lied.
"Okay, just make sure you save him a cookie." Sonata then left. Sugarcoat then gently picked up Flash and showed everyone.
"Flash?" Sour sweet asked softly as Flash waved. Sugarcoat then put him back on the table. They all asked him questions but one in particular stuck out.
"Flash, how connected are you to your family?" Upper Crust asked softly. This made Flash frown and Upper Crust then picked him up gently. "Was it something I said?" She asked softly.
"It's not your fault. You didn't know." Flash said.
"About what?"
"My parents died two years ago in a car crash and me and my sisters are becoming more and more divided. Sonata is most caring sister I could ever ask for. Adagio cares about me but is rarely around because she is always out with friends. I use to think Aria cared about me alot until..." Flash started to tear up.
Oh no, don't tell me he was there. Sugarcoat thought to herself. "Until what, Flash?" She worryingly asked softly.
"I was there at the slumber party when she said her secret." Flash said. He then broke down in tears afterwards.
Now I know why we're here. Sugarcoat thought to herself as she picked up flash and gave him a warm hug. "Flash, after you stop crying, can you please grow back to normal? We need you in order to save your own self." She said as she put Flash on the ground as he stopped crying. Flash then grew back to normal and was a bit confused.
"What do you mean "save your own self"?" He asked as he got a notification on his phone. He then pulled it out and saw an app with a red eye on it. He tried to exit out but he couldn't. He also noticed the app wanted a name, place, and palace. "Girls, what the hell is a palace?" He asked. Twilight then snatched his phone away from him. "Hey!" Flash said surprised. Twilight then had a wide eyed expression.
"Flash, where did this app come from?" Twilight asked him. He then just shrugged. Twilight then showed everyone else and they got surprised.
"The hell? How the eff did he get that app?" Indigo Zap asked. She then gave the phone back to Flash. "Flash, say your full name into the phone." She ordered him.
"Flash Sentury." He said.
"Match found." The app said.
"Good. Now, where do you enjoy staying in? Say it in third person." Indigo asked.
"Flash's house." He said.
"Match found." The app repeated.
"Nice going, Indigo. All we need now is a palace." Sunny Flare said.
"Any Ideas?" Sugarcoat asked.
"His parents' died. A tomb, perhaps?" Twilight asked.
"No match found." The app said.
"I do miss my parents but I have accepted their fate." Flash said.
"He is a troublemaker. What about a gang hideout?" Upper Crust asked.
"No match found." The app repeated.
"He overheard what Aria thought of him. Plus, he said it himself, people think he is very unpleasant. A landfill?" Indigo asked.
"Indigo!" Lemon Zest said with anger.
"Don't get mad her. If anything be happy. She used deductive reasoning to find an answer. Let me try." Flash said as he thought for a moment. "I can't think of anything. You would think I would be able to get the answer. I mean, you know what they say. 'A man's home is his castle.' "
"Match found." The app said.
"Wait, 'castle'?"
"For real?" Indigo asked.
"This is going to be interesting. Are you ready, Flash?" Sunny Flare asked.
"Not yet, I need to get my book." Flash said as Sonata came downstairs with his book.
"You mean this book?" Sonata asked as she gave him his book.
"Thanks, Sonata. Now, let's get going." Flash then activated the app and transported everyone to the castle. When they arrived at the castle, they saw it was heavily fortified and had a yellow dragon emblem on the outside. The sky and area around the castle was dark and gloomy. Flash also noticed everyone changed clothes. Sugarcoat had on a grey button down shirt, black pants and tuxedo along with a white mask with black borders for the eyes. Indigo Zap was dressed like a pirate and had on a skull mask, yellow gloves with metal platting, and a red scarf. Spike was now a dragon with a yellow neckercheif. Lemon Zest had on a red suit, burgundy red long boots, and had a red panther mask. Sunny Flare had on black jacket and pants, white long boots, a blue and white sash, and a fox's tale and mask. Sour Sweet had on a biker's outfit with a metal plated mask. Twilight had on a black and purple suit, neon purple shoes, and a blue butterfly mask. Upper Crust had on a pink dress shirt, black vest, purple shorts, black pantyhoes and shoes along with a black mask and hat with a feather. Sonata had on brown pants, boots, vest, and a white shirt along with a white mask that had a yellow long beak. "What happened to you guys?" Flash asked.
"We are the Shadow Theives of Hearts! Allow us to introduce ourselves. We go by codenames in this world. My name is Joker because I am the one that triumphs and leads our team to victory." Sugarcoat said.
"My name is Skull mainly because of my mask." Indigo Zap said.
"My name is Spike. You probably know me as Twilight's puppy." Spike said.
"My name is Panther because of my cat-like uniform. I also have a whip which kinda reminds me of a certain vigilante." Lemon Zest said.
"My name is Fox because of my mask and tail." Sunny Flare said.
"My name is Queen because of how my personality is somewhat elegant. I am also our team's planner." Sour Sweet said.
"My name is Midnight because of my persona. I am also the team's navigator." Twilight said.
"My name is Noir because of how we act on the darker side of the law." Upper Crust said.
"My name is Griffon because of my bird-like mask." Sonata said.
"Wow. You guys are amazing. Sorry to kill the vibe, but how are we going to change my heart?" Flash asked.
"Usually, we steal the palaces treasure but this time we need to help your shadow with a favor. He said something about 'protect the palace at all costs'." Sugarcoat said.
"Protect the palace? I guess I can try." Flash said as Sonata approached him.
"Flash, before we go in I have a question. Why is the atmosphere dark and gloomy and why is the house a castle?" Sonata asked.
"I can answer the first one. I see society as darkness considering how everyone thinks of me. I may have a guess on the second answer. I see home as a safe area, like for instance a castle." Flash answered as everyone went in. When they got inside, they were surrounded by guards with music notes on their armor. "The guards must symbolize how I see Adagio. She is protective of home and acts too bossy at times." Flash said as a royal queen came down.
"Stand down, they're not the enemy." The queen told the guards. The guards then lowered their weapons and backed away. Flash then noticed the queen looked familiar.
"Adagio?" Flash asked.
"That's 'Queen Dazzle' to you!" She said. Flash then turned to Sugarcoat with a confused look.
"Why does Adagio look different? Who bought her that crown?" Flash asked.
"That Adagio is a cognition. She is how you see your sister." Sugarcoat explained.
"That makes sense." Adagio then approached Flash.
"You must be Flash from the other world. My brother would like to speak with you." She said as a jester came out of nowhere.
"Hello, everyone. The jester is back!" He said with a smile.
"Is that me?" Flash said.
"Yes. I am not just you. I am a shadow, the true self."
"So, basically I'm a jokester who makes others laugh."
"Well, not exactly. No one likes my original jokes. Some are so bad that I get locked up in my room."
"My room is a cell block?"
"Yes. I surprisingly like my prison. I don't get judged by others while in there. Unfortunately, some don't like my methods." Shadow Flash then gestured Queen Dazzle and Nature.
"Yeah, I know what you mean." Flash said as everyone walked towards another room.
"Welcome, everyone, to the planning room." Shadow Flash said as he opened the door. The room was mainly velvet with electronic screens and a center console.
"Planning room? It's more of a velvet room with electronics." Flash said as a old hunchback man kicked Shadow Flash in the balls, causing him to collapse. Flash then laughed his ass off.
"What the fuck is your problem?" Shadow Flash said as the old man approached Flash.
"Sorry for confusion, trickster. Welcome to the Velvet Room." The old man said.
"Trickster? Who exactly are you?" Flash asked.
"I am Igor. I am the one who you heard in your dream."
"That was you?"
"Yes. I suppose you have even more questions for me."
"Yeah, I do. Why are we here and why did my shadow call this place a planning room?"
"You are here to save yourself from self destruction. A cognition you must truely defeat. Your shadow calls this a planning room because of the plans that go underway here." The room then phased in and out and revealed the room to be the garage.
"The Velvet Room is the garage. Considering how many imaginary blueprints I've created in there, I'm not surprised. Also, who or what is this cognition that must be defeated?" Flash asked.
"Sorry, but I would hate to ruin the surprise. Good luck, trickster." Igor said as he disappeared. Shadow Flash then got up and approached Flash.
"So the plan is simple, but you need to listen." He told Flash.
"Come on, you know I can do simple. It's just complex things that confuse me." Flash said.
"Okay, well here's the plan. The cognition will be here any minute so we'll tell the cognition to 'make peace, not war'. I know it sounds like a war poster, but believe me, it works almost every time. If that doesn't work, we'll have to do an all-out attack using our troops and our troops only. If the troops don't succeed, the Shadow Theives will ravage the cognition! Any questions?" A magician then entered the Velvet Room trying to catch her breath.
"Jester Sentury! Queen Dazzle! She's here! The cognition!" The magician said as Flash approached her.
"Trixie?" Flash asked.
"It's 'the Great and Powerful Trixie'! Why doesn't anyone get it?"
Still egotistical I see. Flash thought as Trixie gave him a look.
"I heard that. I can read thoughts thanks to magic."
"Oh." Shadow Flash then gave out an annoyed grunt.
"Listen, I appreciate the little pow-wow going on, but have we forgotton what is already here?" He said.
"Of course! Quickly, to the roof!" The Great and Powerful Trixie yelled as they all went to the roof. When they got outside, they saw a cognitive Aria Blaze. She was wearing a black and red dress.
Shadow Flash then opened a scroll and said, "Princess Aria, we are only here to make peace, not..."
"WAR!" Aria said as she threw a fireball at Shadow Flash, burning up the treaty. She then lit the troops on fire.
"Aria, what the hell?" Flash said.
"Hello, brother." She said in a distorted voice.
"Wait, I'm confused. Am I fighting my sister or the cognition?"
"Yes." She then stepped to the side to reveal Sunset Shimmer in a cage wearing her school spirit outfit. A dark aura surrounded Cognitive Aria.
"Princess Sunset!" Shadow Flash yelled as Aria Blaze turned into a dark version of her siren form.
"Holy Jesus. What is that? What the fuck is that?" Indigo Zap asked.
"But, why are you doing this? You said you would never hurt me." Flash said.
"Don't you get it, you little shit? You're the reason I'm doing this!" Cognitive Dark Siren Aria yelled. A red holo ring creating distorted voices started to surround Flash, making him get down on his knees. It then took the form of the Aria Blaze.
"He is useless to me. He doesn't do anything but eat away at my life." Distorted Aria said. Everyone then surrounded Flash.
"This is all my fault. She left because of me." Flash said tearing up. The distortions then changed into Canterlot High Students. A student was going to approach Flash until another student pulled him back.
"Are you fucking retarded or something? Don't go near him! He has the virus, remember?" The other distorted student said.
"That student that just talked, his name is Snips. He made everyone think I'm a disease. At first, I thought it was bullshit, but now I see the truth. I am a plague that must be purged." Flash said as he broke down into tears.
"That's right. This is all your fault! You are a burden to everyone!" Cognitive Dark Siren Aria yelled as the distortions changed into Flash and another set of Canterlot High School students.
"Hey guys, I was looking at Paris the other day and I've got to say, Notre Dame is looking so hot right now." Distorted Flash said.
"Flash, can you please shut the fuck up for everyone?" The distorted student said.
"Flash, he didn't mean that. You just told a 'not okay' joke." Sugarcoat said.
"But that wasn't the only time I was scolded. People outside of school would scold me for who I am." Flash said with tears in his eyes. The distortion then transformed into the Dazzlings doing homework and Flash playing with a ball. He tossed the ball in the air and it hit the Dazzlings as it bounced.
"Flash, what are you doing?" Distorted Adagio said.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know that would happen." Distorted Flash said on the verge of tears. Distorted Adagio then stood up with a mad expression.
"Go upstairs to your room. Don't talk to us for the rest of the night." She ordered.
"Why? What did I do wrong?" Distorted Flash asked.
"It's what you always do. You never think. Go upstairs, now! I'm very disappointed in you."
"I'm nothing more than a disappointment to not just everyone, but my own sisters too. It's just like Aria said." Flash said as all but Distorted Aria disappeared.
"I wish he was never born." She said as she disappeared. Shadow Flash then approached him and grabbed his arm. Time then stopped around Flash and his shadow self.
"Flash, I will ask a series of question and you will answer them, okay?" Shadow Flash said. Flash then nodded. "Question 1: In elementary school, you hugged a bully to try to change her ways because you always thought friendship fixes everything. Unfortunately, she pushed you down, but what happened afterwards?" Shadow Flash asked.
"Aria beated the shit out of her." Flash answered.
"Correct. Now, question 2: At the slumber party, did Aria say she loved you before she said the most heartbreaking phrase ever?"
"Yes. She did."
"Correct again. Okay, question 3: You were running out in the street and Aria caught you and yelled at you. What was her last sentence?"
"Flash, I love you more than anything else in the world. I don't want you to get hurt."
"You're doing great, Flash. Final question: Did she really mean what she said?"
"No. She didn't. She still loves me." Flash said as time returned to normal. He then stood up and looked at Cognitive Dark Siren Aria with anger. "You are not my sister. My sister would never abandon me because of who I am. You are nothing more than a fake cognition created by the darkness of society and I won't ever forgive those who did this to me. Just leave me alone!" Flash said. Suddenly, his eyes turned yellow and he had a severe headache.
"What you're seeing is nothing more than an illusion created by those who wish to take you down. If you so wish to restore your heart, allow us to form a contract. I am thou, thou art I. Thou will grant thee the power to make the world pure once more for thine own justice. Heed my words. Today, the hunted becomes the hunter. The incarcerated becomes the freed. The fly becomes the cockroach. You are the one who will save everyone from corruption!" Shadow Flash said as red devil mask magically donned onto Flash. "Now, rip off the mask and reveal your true self!" Shadow Flash said as Flash ripped off the mask. His face then turned bloody and his body was engulfed in flames. A persona then appeared behind Flash.
"A persona?" Sunny Flare asked.
"No, dude. That's a superhero." Indigo Zap said.
"I am the crimson devil and the man without fear, Daredevil!" Dardevil said as he lowered down to Flash. Flash then saw his suit was black with two red D's overlapping each other.
"Hey, wassup persona." Flash said as they fist bumped. He then turned to the Shadow Theives of Hearts and said, "I need to ask you all a favor."
"Okay, we're listening." Lemon Zest said. Flash then turned around and pointed at Cognitive Dark Siren Aria.
"That thing has got to go." Flash said as everyone got into a fighting stance. Cognitive Dark Siren Aria then got up and flew around the castle.
"You really think you stand a chance against me?" She said.
"Yes, we do. We believe Life Will Change for those who have dark souls. That's why we must Wake Up, Get Up, and Get Out There to acheive our goal: change the hearts of Blooming Villians. Well, in this case, my own cognition is the enemy here, but that's besides the point. To truely save my own mental state of mind, I Will Face Myself with the help of my friends because I know Will Power alone won't work. We will defeat you with a Last Surprise, and you'll never see it coming!" Flash said. He then saw there was a ballista, went to it, and aimed it at Aria. As he was about to fire, he yelled, "Nothing personal, you monster!" Aria then fell to the castle roof due to her injured state.
"You useless cunt! You can't fix what is already done, retard!" She yelled.
"Your right, asshat. I can't fix this. But we can." Flash said.
"Persona! Ravage her!" Sugarcoat said as she summoned Arsene and used his Eiha.
"Witness my resolve!" Spike said as he summoned Spyro and used his fire breath.
"Persona! Get rekt!" Indigo Zap said as she summoned Captain Kidd and used his Zio.
"Persona! Go!" Lemon Zest said as she summoned Carmen and used her Agi.
"I am thou. Goemon, strike!" Sunny Flare said as she summoned Goemon and used his Giant Slice.
"I'll use my persona! Charge, Johanna!" Sour Sweet said as she summoned Johanna and used her Frei.
"This is who I am! Midnight Blast!" Twilight said as she summoned Midnight Sparkle and used her Midnight Blast.
"Perrrrsonaaaa! Rush them, Milady!" Upper Crust said as she summoned Milady and used her Psio.
"Persona! Wind Gust!" Sonata said as she summoned Gilda and let out a gust of wind from the force of her wings.
"Let's do this! Batonerang!" Flash said as Daredevil threw both of his Batons like a boomerang. Aria then felt low on health.
"Whoa! Looking cool Flash!" Spike said with exicitement
"Dammit, not here. I must triumph." Aria said.
"Not if we have anything to say about it! Shadow Theives, let's end this!" Flash yelled as they all performed an All-Out Attack. He then landed on the ground and said, "Hmph. And that's how it's done." Aria then glowed and transformed back into her human form. But this time she had on her school outfit and was now transparent.
"Flash, I never knew that's how you felt about us. I'm proud of you for purifing your heart. I also want to thank you, Shadow Theives. Without your help, he would have never been able to break away from the border of insanity." Aria said.
"Your welcome." Sugarcoat said.
"Aria, why do you look different and why did you say those things about me if you didn't mean it?" Flash asked.
"The first question is simple. I am actually Aria from the real world. I can enter here whenever I want just so I can talk to you. The second question is also simple, but I regret the answer. I was forced by principal Abacus Cinch to say that because she knows who Griffon's actual identity is and wanted to hurt her." Aria explained.
"Looks like it's time to change her heart."
"Agreed." Aria then stepped to the side to reveal Sunset Shimmer.
"Sunset, are you also the real one?" Flash asked.
"Unfortunately not. I am a cognition." She explained.
"That makes sense. I see you as not only a love interest, but a princess as well. I want to better know you, but I always feel that you're not interested in me. I'm a loser."
"You'll never know until you try. You should tell myself how you feel."
"Yeah, I might just do that." A girl in a blue dress then appeared out of thin air.
"Lavenza?" Sugarcoat said as Lavenza approached Flash.
"I am thou, thou art I...
Thou hast acquired a new vow,
It shall become the wings of rebellion
that breaketh thy chains of captivity,
With the birth of the Justice Persona,
I have obtained the winds of blessing that
shall lead to freedom and new power..." Lavenza told Flash.
" 'Justice Persona'? What does that mean?" Flash asked Lavenza. Sugarcoat then approached both of them.
"I can explain. The Justice arcana is for those who believe light should be balanced within the dark." Sugarcoat explained.
"Wait, like Karma?"
"Yes. Karma can also be known as 'thine own justice'."
"Wow, that's amazing." The world then went white. "What's going on?" Flash asked.
"Time to go home." Sugarcoat said.
The Shadow Theives were finally back at Flash's house and ended up in the den. They also had their clothes reverted back to normal. Flash then saw it was late out and felt exhasted. He then fell to the ground and shrunk down causing the Shadow Theives to gasp, all except for Twilight and Sonata. "Don't worry, girls. He's fine. He just used alot of energy and is pooped." Sonata said as she lifted Flash and went to his room as everyone followed her. She then placed him on his pillow and everyone knelt down and surrounded him. Flash then woke up in a jolt.
"What happened? Did I do it again?" Flash asked feeling embarassed.
"Yeah, you did. But you not hurt, are you?" Sonata asked softly.
"No. I'm fine. But I want to call Aria tonight." Spike then got on his hindlegs and got closer to Flash.
"Aren't you tired, Flash? You should get some sleep." Spike said.
"But. But-" Flash stuttered as Sonata put her finger on Flash's lips.
"Shh. We can do that in the morning. But as of right now, you should really go to bed."
"Okay..." Flash then yawned and fell asleep. Sonata then laid the covers over his tiny body and gave him a kiss.
"Goodnight, Flash."
"Aww..." The Shadow Thieves cooed. Everyone then went to bed.
Three months latter, Sunset and Flash became best friends. Sunset was also having a hard time with other students because of how everyone saw Flash as a plague. Her true friends however, got along with him just fine.
At lunchtime that day, Flash decide to do what his cognition told him to do, tell Sunset how he feels about her. "Sunset, there's something I need to explain to you." He said.
"What is it, Flash? Are you having trouble with your studies again?" She asked.
"No, it's actually something a bit more important than that. When ever I'm with girl, I just act normal because they judge me. But you are not like most girls. You never judged me and you make me feel happy inside and for the first time, I felt feelings I've never felt before. In short, I love you Sunset." This shocked Sunset because she felt the same way.
"Flash, I-I love you too. I would love to be your girlfriend." She said as they both ate together.
Another three months passed and Aria came home. She hugged him and told him she would only be here for a month. "Okay. Well, at least we can still have fun." Flash said. Aria then nodded with a smile.
That night, when everyone was asleep, there was an unknown time paradox that happened at midnight. Igor then summoned The Shadow Theives of Hearts with the exception of Sonata to the Velvet Room. "Hey, old man. What's the problem?" Indigo asked.
"There is a problem happening between the days. A problem that hasn't occured since 2011." He explained. This then caught Flash's attention.
"Wait, Igor. Are you talking about the Dark Hour?" Flash asked. Everyone then looked at him with confusion.
"Flash, what exactly is the Dark Hour?" Sour Sweet asked.
"Get ready for a history lesson everyone. Back in 1999, there were a group of scientist known as the Paradox Doctors who found out about Shadows and their abillity to change time. They also found out about the Shadows' goal, the Fall AKA the end of the world. Three scientists, Twilight's grandfather and my parents, didn't want that to happen. So they destroyed a machine the Paradox Doctors were working on which destroyed the lab and everyone involved in the incident was never heard from again. Little did they know that the incident would create the missing twenty-fifth hour known as the Dark Hour. This only occurs between midnight and one in the morning on the next day." Flash explained.
"Wait, what?" Lemon Zest asked.
"But wait, there's more. The lab incident would create an artificial tower that appears only during the Dark Hour called 'Tartarus' and it is created on the destruction site of the Lab."
"Whoa." Spike said.
"And that's not even the best part. Crystal Prep Academy was built over the ruins of the lab which actually means that CPA is actually Tartarus in the Dark Hour." Flash continued to explain.
"That means we can go there right now then!" Sugarcoat exclaimed. Flash then shook his head in disappointment.
"Unfortunately, there's a catch. If I'm correct, and I hope to Celestia I'm not, Tartarus is going to mix in with the Metaverse. That means Tartarus will be Principal Cinch's own palace. That will also mean that we can't enter the Metaverse near CPA. But we can enter it from my place as our very own safe castle." Flash finished explaining.
"You really are smarter than most, Flash. Also, by the by, how are your sisters doing?" Igor asked.
"They're doing fine. Why do you ask?" Igor then brought up live video footage of the metaverse and it showed the Dazzlings were being held hostage by shadows. "Who did this?"
"Principal Cinch did this. She even told me where they are. Sonata is located at the Diner and both Adagio and Aria are located at Canterlot High School. There are also four fragments of an object that landed in different locations. The first is at the Diner, second one is at the school, third one is at a police station, and the last one is at the top of Tartarus."
"Good, that's all I need to know."
"Au contraire, Flash. It seems that she also wants you to do this alone." This surprised everyone.
"He can't do it alone. He's not even properly trained yet." Sour Sweet said. Flash then turned his attention to her.
"I'm sorry, but I have to do this. This is a family matter and Cinch crossed the line way too many times." Flash said.
"Flash, I also forgot to mention. Adagio and Aria are potential persona users."
"They are? I wonder what their masks look like."
"Actually, how they will activate their personas will be much different than the Shadow Thieves."
"How so?"
"You'll find out." Flash then left the velvet room as everyone was wishing him good luck.
Author's Note
Thanks for reading my story, means alot to me. This fanfiction is not just a story I made up. It was inspired by true events of my life and events in Persona. But first, let me tell you about the symbolism of the story.
I made Flash Sentury me because, believe or not, he is my favorite boy character in Equestria Girls. I am aware how people think he is a bland character, but honestly, I like him alot.
You may be aware of how Flash's castle may be inspired by Futaba's palace and how Aria used one of Sae's quotes in the game. That actually is because my sister said something simular to this but she instantly regretted it. I also find Futaba relatable except for the fact that my parents are still alive. Yeah, that was an inspiration.
Next question, why did I make my sisters the Dazzlings? This one shouldn't be a surprise considering how I put the Dazzlings in all my stories. Yes, they are my favorite girl group in Equestria Girls.
Now it is time for the symbolic part of the Dazzlings. Sonata is basically my imaginary friend. Notice how she wasn't much different from herself in Rainbow Rocks. I only made her more loving and less cruel.
Aria is my middle sister. My middle sister was closest to me considering that we're only two years apart but she found me to be very...annoying. Remember all the feelings Flash felt when he was with himself? Those were actually real. Y'know it's really hard to live with yourself knowing you made the mistakes that cause you to be far apart from those you were closest to. Also, my sister wants to stay with her boyfriend but the reason she went away with him was because of college. But she got kicked out because of bad grades and she doesn't seem like she wants to pursuit astronomy anymore. She even got herself a job down there as a manager. I wish she could come home because it's causing my family to become unstable.
Adagio represents my oldest sister who is six years older than me. She works at a daycare and scolded me more than my parents. She was like a closer mom in a way.
Sunset represents my girlfriend. Before you ask, I do support Flashset more than Flashlight and getting my second girlfriend was actually that easy. It really felt like a Fire Emblem Fates S support which rarely works in most cases. For example, can someone explain how dafuq a man who accidently walks in on woman taking a shower and then they get married? They even had a girl named Kana and a boy named Shigure. But, it was later revealed that they were cousins, so...SWEET HOME ALABAMA! Hey, someone had do it.
Now this next one should be clear. The Shadow Theives of Hearts are the Phantom Theives of Hearts. There are only three differences. They are only girls, Panther got less screen time than all the thieves just like Noir did, and Oracle actually got to fight. Twilight is Oracle in this case.
Speaking of Twilight, Midnight Sparkle would fit perfectly with her Persona in my opinion. I am aware that Twilight did not like her alter ego, but that is one the main reasons why I added the Alternate Universe tag. And speaking of personas, Sonata's persona is actually a Voice Actor joke considering they were both played by the same person. Flash's persona however, is actually my very own persona according to a quiz I took.
Now I get to talk a little more about inspiration. Notice that Indigo's dialogue has quotes from "best boy" himself. Lemon Zest and Indigo Zap also have a simular bond that is relatable to that of Ryuji and Ann. You may also notice the meme references and funny humor that I put in. Those were just me exposing my comedic side. I kind of would like to see Igor give a shadow a swift kick in the balls though. Speaking of Igor because I know a hard-on Persona fan will criticize me for this, I am aware that you need a contract in order to enter the Velvet room. In this story, the Velvet room works a little different. You need to enter the Metaverse in order to access it considering how Flash's garage was his Velvet room AKA Planning room. Another inspiration was the Cognitive Aria Blaze fight. Notice that a ballista was used to shoot her down. The Ballista was just a normal defensive measure added by the castle and is not a hack.
There were also references to Persona 3, 4, and 5. Let's start with Persona 4. "I am a Shadow, the true self" is a commonly used phrase by shadow versions of the person. It's basically saying how the shadow expresses its true feelings of the person in reality. The Persona 3 reference comes at the end. The Dark Hour is when you fight shadows and Tartarus is where. Persona 5 references are present everywhere, but my favorite was Flash's speech. They were referencing songs from the game, but I'll Face Myself is actually the boss theme from Persona 4. Triumph is also the name of the victory theme from Persona 5.
Now I get to talk about the most personal thing about this story in my opinion, the palace. Everything in there was 100% true. I see society as dark and gloomy because of all the shit I was put through by others that wish to bring me down. I also see my oldest sister as a ruler at times because, like I said before, she was like another mom. Cognitive Trixie represents the bond I have with most of my sister's friends. Also, that holo ring scene were all true events. Someone in elementary school replaced cheese in the cheese touch with my name because of how I would chew my shirts and dig up my nose. Digging up my nose was how I lost my first girlfriend. Yeah, but I was also very autistic back then. If you really want know what I suffered with, try having autism in middle school. Yeah, it was hell. Most middle schoolers that I met were complete assholes so I had not too many friends. Plus, I had just moved.
Remember when Flash's shadow asked those questions to Flash? Those events actually happened too. The first event actually made people scared of my sister. Yeah, she was a total badass.
At the end of this story, it sort of segways into my other story. I can't explain too much but I'm taking an Avengers approach on it. Some might even say it's a Glass approach for anyone that even saw that movie. It will be the most ambitious crossover I ever made. Until then, Excelsior.
