Celestia and Luna returned a few days after the incident, Sunset smiled as they entered “Mum, Auntie how did it go?”

Luna gave them a weak smile “Better than I expected, they have given me legal guardianship over you and we have got a school more than willing to let you go there” she then sighed “The reason they didn’t allow me to adopt you is the fact that you don’t actually exist in a legal sense and that I’m not human.”

Sunshine grimaced as she entered “That isn’t exactly fair.”

Celestia frowned “No isn’t but that’s politics. The man we were speaking wasn’t happy about it either but there was nothing he could do.”

Sunset frowned “So where am I going to again?”

Luna smiled as levitated over a large bag “The school is Crystal Prep, several copies of your uniform are in there.” Sunset grabbed the bag and looked in it, several blazers with pleated skirts as well as long sock and purple laced shoes were in the bag as well as several books and a pencil case.

Celestia smiled “From what I heard the school has a reputation foe high grades in every area.”

Sunset grinned “Well I’ll show them that I’m fit to stand amongst them.” The group laughed as they got ready to eat dinner.

The next morning Sunset entered the simple tiled bathroom and after a quick shower she brushed her hair into it’s usual style. She put on her uniform and headed downstairs with a smile. Sunshine made Bacon and eggs for Sunset, Pancakes for Luna and a huge cake for Celestia.

Luna sighed “Sunshine do you really have to give my sister a cake, I’ve been trying to get her to tone down on the sweets.”

Celestia looked at her sister Luna “I’m not that bad.”

Sunset grinned“Really, I remember at my sixth birthday I only got a single slice of cake. You ate half of it before I even finished my first slice.” Celestia blushed in response to the accusation.

As they were eating Luna frowned “Sunset, are you worried about the first day of school.”

Sunset giggled “I’ll be fine mum, don’t worry.” After breakfast Sunset smiled “I’ll be back this afternoon.”

Sunset got on a bus that arrived near the area, she smiled as she boarded the bus. She was one the only human on the bus but several ponies, two griffons as well as a zebra were also on the bus. Sunset’s eyes widened as she saw the huge Crystal City, she got off the bus at the huge well maintained school of Crystal Prep.

A woman with pink skin and tricoloured hair smiled “You’re Sunset Shimmer I assume.”

Sunset nodded at the woman with her own smile “Yes, I am. I’ve heard about your mum, she seems to be quite a good pony. It still feels weird to say that.”

Sunset smiled “This is very different from where I remember living, it was never this sunny and there weren’t buildings like that either. Actually what nation is this?”

Cadence smiled as she beckoned her along “This is the USA , why?”

Sunset frowned “That’s odd, I was born in France over one thousand years ago. I fell into that mountain that’s over there.”

Cadence shouted “What, how are you one thousand years old!”

Sunset gave her a fierce glare “It’s a very long and complicated story, I don’t want to get into it. Also I have a feeling I’m going to be asked a lot of questions about it now.”

Cadence looked down “I’m sorry.”

Sunset sighed “I should have been more careful with my words, it’s not every day you meet up with a relic like me. Still I need some time alone, I’ll go and look inside .the school for a bit before classes start.”

As soon as she entered the school, she saw someone who she knew as well as two people that she didn’t. Twilight was pined to the wall by two kids, Twilight begged “Lightning Dust, Upper Crust please let me go.”

Lightning Dust growled as she threw Twilight to the ground and slammed her foot into her back “You were supposed to do our homework two days ago and then give it to us! Now the due date is here and we still don’t have it!”

Sunset growled “Leave her alone!”

Upper Crust rolled her eyes “This is none of your business.”

Twilight looked up only for eyes to widen in shock “Sunset, why are you…”

Twilight screamed Lightning Dust slammed her foot down into her back and glared at Sunset “Listen up whoever you are, if you interfere there will be trouble.”

Sunset giggled “The fact you consider that you can cause me any bother is laughable.” Lightning Dust ran delivering a rapid punch only for Sunset to catch the athlete’s punch. Her eyes narrowed “Bad Move.”

Sunset let go of Dust’s fist as she punched her so hard that Dust flew into locker causing a human sized dent as she coughed up blood. Sunset smiled as she held out a hand to Twilight “Come on, we should go to class.”

Twilight got to her feet and gave Sunset a weak smile “Actually we have Home Room first, I’m sure Cadence would introduce you to everyone.”

Twilight sighed as she followed Sunset “Why are you helping me after all I’ve done?”

Sunset frowned “Look you made some bad decisions and I’m certainly upset that you made them but it is in the past.”

Twilight gave her a weak smile “Thanks.”

Sunset nodded at her “You’re welcome.” As soon as they arrived at the home room the bell everyone was about to enter when Cadence pulled Sunset aside. All of the students except Twilight ignored her as they entered.

Cadence smiled “I’m going to introduce you to the class.” Sunset nodded, Cadence smiled “Today we have a new student, her name is Sunset Shimmer. I hope you make her feel welcome.”

Sunset smiled as she entered the classroom “It’s a pleasure to meet you all.” Most of students looked indifferent to her presence save Twilight.”

As it turned out that day was test day and after leaving Homeroom Sunset completed test after test until the PE test last period. The Teacher Sombra frowned “Today is your exam, we are playing a game of soccer. I expect you to give it your best.”

Sunset frowned “I have never played soccer before.”

Twilight smiled “Okay simple rules unless you are the goalie, you aren’t allowed to touch the ball with you hands. Also you must kick the ball into the opposing teams goal.”

Sunset grinned “This will be easy.”

Her team was given a blue jacket and the opposing team were wearing red jackets. As soon as the ball was kicked Sunset burst into a run, every student was shocked as an orange blur stole the ball and kicked it into the goal before anyone could stop her she then blinked as everyone was looking at her “What.” Needless to say that the blue team won the game easily.
