It had been a year since she had arrived in the Underground, Sunset had put on quite a bit of weight in both fat and muscle. She looked around her pale white room, it was fairly the same with a simple bedside table next to the bed the only additions separating it from a normal guest room was the small armour stand with several weapons on it and a small bookshelf full of books.

Sunset got out of her bed at first light, after a quick shower she changed into her usual clothes and exited the room. She walked towards the dining room, she saw that the damaged part of the wall she had damaged almost a year ago had been rebuilt but it was reinforced with powerful enchantments.

Luna smiled “Sunset, I’m glad you are here to join us for breakfast.” Discord was smiling as he had Fluttershy on his lap while Rainbow sat next to Sunshine. Celestia was sitting next to Sunshine.

Sunset took a seat “So what’s for breakfast?”

Celestia smiled as several chefs entered placing pancakes in front of each of them “I believe that answers your question.”

Sunset smiled as she dug into her pancakes, Fluttershy and Discord shared their pancakes while Rainbow shoved her muzzle into the food. Luna, Celestia and Sunshine ate more slowly. After they ate, Luna smiled “I believe the young ones should leave us to talk about the boring stuff.”

Rainbow, Fluttershy and Sunshine galloped out of the room, Sunset however decided to eavesdrop on the conversation outside the door. Discord frowned “Have you made your decision?”

Luna slumped “I want to adopt her but I don’t want her to get wrapped up in politics. She’s lived a hard enough life as it is.”

Sunset disappeared with a flash of light as she thought (I can’t let her take in a human like me, I have corrupted this land enough with my presence. They praise my violent actions as heroic despite my protests.)

Sunset arrived in the Castle Library, she began looking through the p section. She grinned “Perfect.” A book titled Poisons and Poultices was in her hands, she looked through the book intently until she saw a page with a set of golden flowers, it read

Buttercups, cousins of the Shineflowers of the surface world. Extremely poisonous capable of putting an adult monster out for several days and will kill a younger monster.

Sunset smiled as headed out to the gardens, she grabbed a bunch of the flowers and ate them. She smiled as she collapsed to the ground “Maybe now the ponies can be free.”

She blinked as she saw Fluttershy flying over to her with a concerned look on her face “Sunset, what’s wrong!”

Sunset grinned “Nothing, soon my life will end and you can free yourselves.”

Fluttershy teleported Sunset into the thrown room in front of Luna, Discord and Celestia. She cast a desperate look at her father “Sunset is dying, she ate some flowers in the gardens.”

Luna let out a ghastly wail, Discord expression turned grave “There is no cure for Buttercup Poisoning, Sunset is going to pass on soon.”

Just then Rainbow and Sunshine burst in only to see Sunset cough up blood, Sunset with the last of her strength pulled her soul out of her body “One of you take it! Don’t make my sacrifice in vain.”

Luna turned away trying to hold her tears away, she turned to Discord “Come on, this is the only chance you’ll get.”

Discord shook his head, she turned to Celestia who frowned “I can’t, it’s not my place if anyone should do it’s Luna. You are daughter in all but name.”

Luna began crying “I won’t do it, I can’t. Don’t make me do it!”

Suddenly Sunset’s soul was pulled away with a burst of magic, it flew past Rainbow and Fluttershy only to fly into Sunshine’s body. Sunshine began increasing in size to the point she was twice her mother’s height with a fully matured body, she glared ta three adults in the room “Since none of you had the guts to do this, I will! She then hefted Sunset’s limp body onto her back “I’ll take her body back to where it belongs!”

Celestia chased her daughter “Please, don’t do this. What if you get hurt?!”

Sunshine snapped “You had the option to take her soul, you made your choice and I am making mine!” Celestia froze as her daughter’s eyes flared red for a second, Celestia quietly followed her daughter to the barrier.

Sunshine exited the barrier, she smiled as she smelt the vibrant air of the surface. She carried the Sunset’s body into a village only for the townsfolk to begin attacking her. Sunshine screamed as their weapons began to tear into her, meanwhile inside her body her soul was beginning to crack only for Sunset’s red soul to pull the white soul into itself.

Sunshine’s body sent out a huge burst of red magic, Sunset in control of the body hefted her own corpse onto Sunshine’s back. Sunset took full control flying her temporary body back to the underground. Celestia gasped “Sunshine!”

Sunset glared at her “This is your fault for not taking my soul!” Sunset forced Sunshine’s body over a set of purple flowers only for Sunshine’s body to evaporate into magic while Sunset’s soul returned to her body.

Sunset opened her eyes to be in a strange void like location, she looked around in confusion “Where am I?”

A familiar voice spoke “You are in the void space of your body.”

Sunset looked around “Discord, where are you?”

Discord materialised “Two hundred years after your death, I fall into the void. Time mean little in the void thus I am visiting you two hundred hundred before it happened” he shook his head “the point is the void space can contain objects from the real world.”

He clicked his claws and several bookshelves with of books from the present to one thousand years in the future arrive in the void space, Discord grinned “This should you keep you occupied for next thousand years. Something important will happen to you then. We will speak again at that time.”

Sunset sighed “Well I better get to reading.”
