A pony and her cat were walking through the forest. The cat was looking around at everything and occasionally sniffing the air. Everything was peaceful. The pony stopped and looked around. "Hmmm. . . " she said.
Suddenly, the leaf of the plant next to her reached down and snatched her up.

"Aaaaaaaahhhhhhh!" she screamed. She struggled and tried to break free. Her cat, which had been looking at the trees a few seconds ago, sprang into action. It grew into the size of a pony and attacked the plant. The cat, with its incredible hearing, heard a branch snap. It turned back into a normal cat just as a yellow and pink pegusus came galloping out of the bushes. The pegasus had been walking to see her friend, the zebra; however she had heard somepony scream so she immediately tried to find that pony. The pony saw the plant and the pony trapped inside. She gasped in horror and almost screamed as well. She flew up and tried to pull the other pony out of the plant's grasp. Finally, with one big pull, the pony escaped the plant's leaves. The leaves went back to their normal spot.

"Are you alright?" the pegasus asked the other pony. The pony was breathing very hard and couldn't seem to catch their breath. Finally, the pony whispered something too quiet for the yellow pegasus to hear.

"Sorry, what did you say?" the yellow pegasus asked. The other pony looked at the ground. The cat had walked over to stand by her. "I-I'm fine. ." the pony said, almost as quiet as before. "Th-thank you for helping me. . ." the pony quietly said.

"Are you sure you're okay? That plant looked very dangerous!" the pegasus exclaimed. The pegasus was also quiet, but not as quiet as the other pony. The other pony just continued to look at the ground.
"Nevermind. My name is Fluttershy. What is your name?" she asked.

The other pony whispered, "M-my name is Forest Feather. . ." Fluttershy looked like she was about to say something, but then she saw the cat. "Is that your cat?", she asked. "Y-yes. . her name is Jacko. ."

Fluttershy smiled. Then she frowned. "Why are you all alone out here in the forest?" she asked with a concerned look on her face. Forest Feather looked up, confused. Then she looked back down at the ground. "I-I kind of live in the forest. ." she said. "With Jacko," she added, quietly.

"What about your parents?" Fluttershy asked. Then she saw the look on Forest Feather's face. Suddenly, she realized why Forest Feather wasn't answering. "Oh. . I'm sorry. . I shouldn't have asked. ."

"It's okay. . I never knew them anyways. . . somepony else took care of me for a while," she explained quietly, "But now I just live in the forest with Jacko. . ."

"Do you want to come with me to my cottage?" Fluttershy asked. "And you could stay there if you'd like. Living in the forest must be really dangerous!" She looked around at the forest with a worried expression on her face.

Forest Feather looked surprised. "It's ok, really, I like living in the forest. Jacko always makes sure I'm safe. . ." Before she could continue, though, she saw that Fluttershy had a determined look on her face. She knew that Fluttershy would probably insist on her staying in Fluttershy's cottage. The forest isn't that dangerous, she thought.
"Okay. . if you really want me to . . ." she said.

"Great!" Fluttershy exclaimed happily, obviously feeling much better now that she knew Forest Feather was safe. "Follow me! It's almost time for lunch, so once we get there I'll make lunch for us!"

"Ok. . " Forest Feather said. She managed to give Fluttershy a small smile.

later . . .

Fluttershy set a plate down on the table. The table had two plates, two glasses, a bowl of salad, and a pitcher of juice. "There," Fluttershy said, "Now it's time for lunch!" Forest Feather had already been sitting at the table while Fluttershy had made salad and set the table. Forest Feather had asked if she could help multiple times, but the yellow pegusus had declined her offer. Just as Fluttershy sat down, there was a knock at the door.

"Who could that be?" she wondered aloud. She got up and went to the door. She opened it and saw her friends standing there.

A pegusus with a rainbow-colored mane exclaimed, "Where were you!? We were supposed to have lunch at Applejack's, remember?" Another pony, this one was purple, glared at the pegasus. "Rainbow!" she scolded, "There's no need to get mad at her!" An orange-colored pony stepped forward. "Are you alright, sugarcube?" she asked.

Fluttershy had a shocked and guilty expression on her face. "I'm so sorry! I completely forgot! You see I was - " she said before a pink pony interrupted her. "It's ok Fluttershy!" she said cheerfully. "We all forget things sometimes! Even me!"

Then a white unicorn, that was standing near the orange pony, saw a cat she had never seen before in Fluttershy's cottage. She exclaimed, "Oh! You found an animal in the forest and then brought home, but then you forgot to go to Applejack's house. Is that why you did not come?"

Fluttershy looked confused. Then she saw Jacko in her cottage. "Um. . well. . kind of. ." she managed to reply.

"Whatever do you mean, darling?" the unicorn asked. She looked at Fluttershy and waited for an answer. But, before Fluttershy could say anything, the purple-colored pony asked, "What's been going on, Fluttershy?"

"Well. . um. . I found a pony that was trapped in a plant, so I helped her escape. Then I found out she was living in the forest with just her cat. So, I decided she should come over to my cottage and live there instead, so she wouldn't have to live in the dangerous forest," Fluttershy explained. "The pony's name is Forest Feather and her cat is named Jacko," she added. She looked at all of her friends.

"Oh," the white unicorn said. "Can we meet her?"

"I don't know," Fluttershy said, "I think she is even more shy than me!"

I hope you enjoy my story! Sorry if I don't write chapters fast enough. I'll try to write as many as I can. Also, My Little Pony and all of its characters belong to Hasbro. I'm just writing a story about it.
