Diary: Sargent Snake Zap Manehattan: 9: 36 PM
War....war never changes. In the many battles I've fought in, many battles were filled with death, loss, anger, horror, fear, sadness, confusion. All those a solider once felt in battle. If not in the later war, it has been three years into the war and many were killed, men, women, children, elders and soldiers. Even my own brother and father who were soldiers like me.
My squad and I were supposes to take back Manehattan from the enemy, but...there were too many. They attacked in large numbers than expected they killed so many, we called in air support but they didn't make it across the enemy line with there air defence. They killed so many, the streets run red now.
I fear we will lose this war against the enemy at hand, my team, my own men are dead along with the rest of the city. I'm the only one left alive of the Legion Corps. If you find this, tell my family, I'm sorry...we couldn't take back the city from the monsters who over run it now.
Its day six and I found a survive from a shot down jet near the center of the city, Thunderlane he said was his name, I took him back to my hiding spot before the enemy could take him. He was in bad shape, he had a ball size hole in the side of his gut, and I was no doctor, I couldn't help him.
I held him close, his blood all over my uniform. He told me he was afraid to die, that he didn't want to go just yet. He told me about this family back at home and how he was going to ask the girl of his dreams out. As he kept talking to me I could see tear drops forming in his eyes.
I told him it'll be fine, that'll it be okay. I could feel him shaking grabbing me by my shirt and pulled me close. His eyes red with tears as they fell from his eyes. He said once again, he was afraid to die, than I told him it'll be fine but, it's to late my friend, it's time to say goodbye. Than he died in my arms. I can still see his face, every time I blink, he's there.
It's quite, the smell of the dead in the air, I could hear the enemy outside from the house I'm hiding in. I could see them, dragging the dead away taking there weapons and armor and leaving the bodies in piles around the fucking streets.
There coming, there breaking threw the front door, this is it. I can feel death grab my shoulder, I may die, but I'm not going alone. I'm going to take every of those fuckers with me to Tartarus. This is goodbye...Sargent Snake Zap, signing off.
Twilight Sparkle, a lieutenant of her squad was reading the diary of Sergeant Hard Hoof who went missing months ago with the rest of his squad. The young woman had her hair in a bun under her helmet with a hole in the middle for her horn, she wore her standard camo military combat uniform, she had her long barrel carbine rifle wrapped around her chest as she stood in the middle of a destroyed room.
Then a rainbow haired young lady who was sargent of her squad walked towards Twilight and grabbed the diary and pulled it down. "Twilight, read it later, we got a mission to do, we need your head in the mission." she said in a rough voice she also had the same combat uniform like Twilight but without her helmet, with a short scar across the pegasus, she also had one natural blue fathered wing while her other was replaced with a metal wing.
"Yes I know rainbow dash I m-mean Sargent Dash but...these ponies, these soldiers couldn't take back the city, what makes you think we can? You, Me, Pinkie Pie, Maud Pie, Spike and Storm Breaker? And that's only us, we are still missing Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy and Starlight." Twilight said as the rest of the squad watched the two while Spike stood guard.
"We have to believe in each other and the mission, we'll make it out fine Twilight, remember even tho we are soldiers we are still friends, so please believe me when I say we'll be fine, all we need is to get the location of the power plant in the city and that's all." Rainbow said as she placed her hand on Twilight's shoulder.
"We are going to make it." she said with a smile as Twilight slowly smiled back than Spike quickly turned with a feared expression. "In coming! Down! Down!" he yelled before jumping to cover. By instinct they all jumped for cover before the wall near them exploded into pieces.
Flash Back Two Years ago
It was a normal day in ponyville, the sky blue, birds singing and the ponies going around with there lives with smiles. It's been peaceful for days now, Twilight and her friends were on a picnic in the local park.
"This is so peaceful darling, no trouble or life death adventures to do. Just relaxing with some dear friends." Rarity a white coat woman said with a smile wearing a white long dress with a big yellow hat. She had a glass of wine in her hand while she smiled.
"Hell yeah, we get to spend more time here at home and I could finally get some Zzz's!" Rainbow Dash said stretching across the ground. With a smirk on her lips ready to take her afternoon nap.
As the group of friend's kept chatting with each other, taking in the sunlight and the peaceful view. Than it was all taken away as a large ship came from the everfree. The group thought it was just the local military ponies taking a new ship out, but were dead wrong.
The ship fired a blast that hit the town hall destroying the walls as it fell down to the ground crushing many who tried to run. Than another shot was fired as it hit the tree near the group sending them all flying across the ground.
Twilight slowly got up and looked at her hands seeing blood but was not her own. As she looked around she saw a familiar blue fathered wing on the ground as a loud screaming came after she saw. She quickly looked at Rainbow Dash who was screaming for her life as Fluttershy and Applejack dragged her away from the fallen tree.
She looked at her home was more only to see fire and buildings falling apart. Ships flew all around shooting at any one who tried to run.
The group ran into the everfree trying to ignore the screams and cry's for help back at ponyville as the group want straight there friends place, Zecora.
Once there they saw Zecora surrounded with dead little monsters while she held her ak-47 and a pup-shotgun. The Zebra took them inside to heal the injured pegasus. All she heard were screams of her friend. Than she knew. This is War.
End of Flash Back
Twilight could only hear ringing as she yelled in pain but didn't hear herself she slowly turned around on her back seeing her friends/squad taking over and taking heavy fire while they shot back. That's when she felt a pair of hands grab her shoulder and grabbed her to cover.
Spike the young dragon wore light combat armor, wearing a pair of fingerless black gloves and a face mask. He had lost his weapon from the explosion but didn't care, all he cared was to take Twilight to cover with him.
"This tank is a real pain in my flank right now! I'm calling in air support!" yelled Pinkie Pie the mare in black combat light armor as well with her pink hair straight down, she went over to Storm Beaker who was there radio guy. He had the same combat armor as Twilight with helmet while having a pump shotgun looking the enemy as they got close threw the other way.
"This alien freaks are on my last fucking nerve!" yelled Strom Breaker. The enemy they were facing off against, were called the Covenant. A bunch of freak looking nasty aliens that came from space to there home to kill.
As Pinkie grabbed the phone that was connected to Storm's back started to shout about getting some air support on the tank that has them pinned down.
"Get this fucking things off us now!" Pinkie yelled before putting the phone back on the radio before going back to there squad leader.
Rainbow glared at her gun which stopped firing. She smacked it but didn't budge, she than tossed it away as the alien tank kept them in place.
"Air support is coming, we just have to wait a few minuets!" Pinkie yelled over the gun fire as the rest nodded. Not far from the ponies squad, a Kig-Yar sniper was on top of a building looking down on the squad it aimed it's sniper down at them looking for it's target. It had it's sight on Rainbow but moved to Storm before pulling the trigger.
The squad heard a loud sniper shot as a hole was blown into Storm's head as he fell to his side. "Sniper! Get down!" yelled Rainbow as they all laid around on the ground while Twilight just watched Storm with disbelief. The Kig-Yar growled in pleasure seeing that it took down there radio support guy than moved to a new target, setting it's sight on Maud, it than slowly pulled the tigger before a loud gun shot went off.
