Pony: A Novel of the World Above
"I hate ziggers!" said Scootaloo, pooping in Rainbow Dash's vagina. It was the morning after her 18th birthday, and she was now 18 years of age, one less than 19 and one more than 17, making her at least the same age as all of her friends, some of whom were actually older than that, but none of them were younger. Scootaloo was hard pressed to think of friends who were not 18 years of age or older than the age of 18, which was the age of 18 years, and then she would realize, actually, that she did not any longer know any individuals, living or dead, who were currently less than 18 years of age, for everyone relevant to the events that were about to unfold was, with absolute certainty, at least that age. Many were older than that, even. Most were. All were.
Scootaloo's 18+ year old nostril fluttered, so the yellow-headed pony looked up and realized where she was. Scootaloo was standing naked above Dash, also a consenting individual at an age of majority for her species. Her legal-adult breasts jiggled wildly underneath the blanket. She had her own dress and heels and her hair was pulled back into a ponytail—but for one thing, she was so cute. Scootaloo looked at the other girl from her seat, and she looked back at Rainbow Dash with a smile on her face, her eyes filled with the lust that only a consenting adult can truly know.

The three of them lay there looking at each other. Rainbow Dash reached up and iced off a drink for Zebra, before giving herself a lift, flying off with her father.
Zebra flew away, leaving Dash behind.
After Dash had finished her drink, she looked at her friends. "What'll you boys do?"
"We'll probably just go look for Pinkie in Ponyville," Rarity said, taking a step forward. She started forward.
"I hope we don't get caught."
"We'll all go looking for Pinkie if that's all there is to it."
A knock at the door drew their attention. "Open it," Rarity said, standing when they opened it. "It's time for you to go." The room darkened, for a moment before it returned into all of it's old glory.
There they all sat, watching the clock and counting. All three began to panic. "Who are we supposed to call? Where have we forgotten to tell the others in Ponyville?" Rarity questioned, her face going bright in that one bright yellow light of hers. She turned to the other two. "Pinky, will you take over for me?"
Her partner did so, giving her a hard slap to drive home the point. "Alright, alright, alright, don't say anything or I'll knock you down all at once!" She said, looking at her partner with concern.
"What-" Dash said suddenly, pulling off the seat belt she had left on her back. "What the fuck happened?" Pinkie demanded, trying to make out which side her head stuck through. "What was we waiting for!? All of you are idiots!"
And she was right. Pinkie was one hell of a liar. She'd been lying to her friends about everything from school and school projects. She'd gone on and on about everything. It's funny, she hadn't even gotten any of the rest of the team together yet. At least not the ones that she wanted to fight on the side that wasn't going away.
"I won't go," Twilight said suddenly in disappointment. "So, let's go play! Wherever you are, we're in!"
"Oh, yeah, come on, I'm in charge of planning for this game!" Pinkie exclaimed, trying herself to stay cheerful. "Hey, how are they feeling? I've heard that everyone else is pretty nervous."
And while the other two had already got used to her personality change, it didn't help any in the team's current situation. Twilight had seen how it worked, and knew how dangerous it was to act on anything more than a preliminary interest.
And so, the team had planned on setting off early with a plan to take on the Mane 7 one by one. This was an order of magnitude bigger task than simply clearing all of the Mane 6 in one go and seeing where Pinkie led, no. There was too much of a risk involved. Still, their goal was to take the Mane 6 down until only Twilight remained and that was pretty impressive considering there would be less of a chance at getting to Twilight and more to Rainbow than what they had in the past.
But that would prove too risky. With their plans, one team would go all the way to the final destination at the very end, Twilight's family, and there would be no other choice but a one-way ticket. When they arrived back at the castle, they were greeted by the sight of the Mane 6 in full gear, ready to face off against each other, if it was possible.
Rainbow Dash had no idea they existed or that she was the only one there. That made her nervous, and she hadn't told them the reason – until the Mane 6 decided to play along like little kids playing "Scooby Doo".
Pyrrha realized how she knew it would end. She had the best relationship with her partner. They weren't the greatest of friends, but they were close. But Rainbow and She-Hulk and the rest of the Rainbow Dash Brigade were only two ponies of her size and abilities in the world. She wasn't one. But if they had to battle, one of them wouldn't lose.
As she ran towards them, she saw the Mane 6 look back at her, their eyes wide with shock. The unicorn pegasus was already in a panic, shaking so violently that she'd had to restrain herself from shaking until she was almost rolling around in fear.
"What the, are you two going to die!?" Twilight asked desperately. "I thought you were gonna save us! We wouldn't have been in this! I thought we'd be friends again!"
"Don't worry about it. It's okay," the unicorn said, pulling off her helmet and laying it back against the front of her armor. "I didn't think you'd be like this any more. I have to be sure you don't do it." She turned around and stared right into her friends' face.
The three of them looked up to her with wide eyes. Twilight gasped a little, remembering how scared she'd been while that was happening so far and how it'd make it harder for them to understand, but the thought of being with someone who'd just started taking a serious interest in her caused Twilight to calm down and just look at her friends. She didn't need to know what they were thinking. She felt they were all trying to help her; just a little more, one second, and none too soon.
"What's it like out there?"
The two pegasuses nodded in acknowledgement, looking each other over again.
"Hey, we're out there!" Twilight pointed at the sky as they turned around, and both snickered at the statement, their lips parting as they turned.
"So are those..." She paused as they glanced at each other, "those cute little hooves, that look awesome even when they're on the ground..." The other pegasus glanced between the two, both of them blushing, and grinned slightly, her horn glinting.
Rainbow Dash, on the other hand, rolled her eyes. "I didn't know them were that cute..." The sparkly pony was about to reply when Twilight burst from her seat and took her into a deep, loving hug.
"Oh," Pinkie peered at the princess, "What do we do now?"
"Well..." Pinkie said, rolling her eyes. "Well, we...we need to...see that...that thing behind you." Her head flopped backwards and she smiled sadly at the two who had just hugged her.
"We...won." Rarity's voice cut through the darkness. Rainbow Dash's grin was as great as the rest of her. "Thank you, Rarity."
She was right. It wasn't the first time she'd seen Rarity smile before. She hadn't noticed the difference until she came out of her room wearing just a puffy dress that left her bottom just a bit exposed. However, by the time she came down, Rarity's heart was beating just as fast as hers. When she sat back up to take a seat, she turned around right when she saw the young stallion smile back at her.
"I'm sure that dress doesn't cover the whole picture at all but...it's definitely pretty...and the way those boots were..." She trailed off and stopped when she looked down at her shoes and the small smile she gave the young boy at that.
"I've...changed my mind," Twilight admitted. She still hadn't turned and seen Rarity yet. It hurt.
"Don't worry about it," Spike said cheerfully. He held up his hands and began walking towards the door when he had the sense to start to raise an eyebrow to Twilight.
Twilight blinked at this. "I-I'll talk to Rarity about this in a moment." She looked back into Spike's eyes nervously. "Will you come in?"
Spike didn't answer, but he turned and walked back towards the house through the house door. In that moment, she suddenly knew what it was about. The same feeling she always felt with Spike.
And that was a lot of it. They kept talking and arguing, even though she couldn't hear the noise of the world any more. She needed to be alone with this. She needed to do something. This had been too much. She couldn't feel it anywhere, but it made her jump to attention. She reached out with one hand and put her arm around Spike. 'We're gonna lose, we're gonna lose.'
This wasn't normal. Spike and Twilight got close enough to talk and they could just make it through an argument with each other because they were like, they're the two most amazing people and you can't argue with them. I'm like, okay I'll accept but your life is already going so far down a path I didn't want in my head. Just because you are a pony doesn't mean that you are going to stop doing whatever it is you're doing, like, being a cool person."
Pinkie and Luna both had an annoyed expression on their face.
"I think a word like 'awkward' is too polite. This is not awkward! That's the one thing about friendship. You learn what to do from the people who get along with you."
"H-how does that affect friendship? You have your people you can argue with but you really want everyone to be okay with you? That's the reason we have friends."
"It's different for friendship. It's different for that, but it shouldn't really matter."
"What do you mean?"
"You just want to keep an eye on everyone, right? You want everyone to want good things from you. It's not like you are the leader but the head of the room. And everyone's not there to do something good. If you want someone to be happy, what are you doing?! You should let people do the fighting and stuff like that."
"That seems so selfish."
"...I don't feel like telling anyone that!"
"And you don't even really want to know, Twilight, do you? Why should I even care! You do everything!" said Fluttershy, the apple on the tip of the apple of Twilight's nose flying.
"...I'll just be quiet and trust that you won't say anything more of a mean thing."
"That's why you say things like that, Fluttershy, and why you don't trust yourself, or anyone else..."
"You're wrong." He said, his voice sounding almost annoyed as he crossed his arms defensively. Twilight sighed and smiled at him. "So you're not lying."
"Huh?"
"You're lying." He repeated softly, though he did a little dance of his tongue, making sure it was right. "The reason you don't trust yourself, Fluttershy..."
"You're not lying to me, Rainbow," Twilight said firmly. "In fact, I believe... in you."
He was quiet for a moment, his mouth open slightly as his pupils began to dilate, his breathing shortening as he started to feel the heat. He tried his best to stay calm, but his heart was racing so fast, he couldn't see anything.
Twilight nodded. "I'm going to take this chance to ask one thing, Fluttershy, and I'm making a promise to you."
"What!?" His voice was rising and falling fast as he spoke. "Can't—"
"That's why I'm going to do anything in my power to stop you," Twilight reminded him quickly. "I told him you were going to be a problem. I told him I would be there for you no matter what. I'm telling you, Fluttershy, I can do anything you want, and I'll do it faster than I should have, and I'll do it here. I understand it's not going to happen tomorrow because we need to be focused, and I know I can do everything you want by myself. But if we can stop you at this point, even that one person, I'll do what I can to support you if I need to."
"That's not—"
"It's not!" Twilight said sharply. "I don't want a problem here. I want a friendship between us."
He opened his mouth and stopped halfway, before his face relaxed just a little. "Ahhh, I didn't understand at first," he said softly. "You're really wonderful, Twilight. I guess it will be really fun to become friends with you! I've thought about it for a bit, but... I don't know..."
"It's fine," she said. "We can't tell each other anything! I guess I can talk about my life with you - like my parents and stuff like that." She closed her eyes for a moment. "I just want to talk with you a little about... our past. Maybe we can have a talk here." She gestured towards the couch again. "It's not like that will lead anything to follow, either... right? I want to know about my past, after all." She shook her head quickly.
Spike just smiled. "Okay, there you go," he said. He got a chair close enough to lean against and leaned up against Twilight. "And there you go," he said again.
"That's nice, Spike," she said.

It made perfect sense: Spike was more dangerous than Rarity, and the one pony that would make it possible for her to get away. After all, she wouldn't allow anyone else to escape from him if he caught her by surprise. But she decided on Rarity's name instead, because… well, she could figure out Rarity's name quickly enough without Spike catching wind of it. She decided not to tell anyone that she made that little mistake.
Twilight felt the urge to run around the grounds to avoid Spike, which was stupid she didn't think. She needed to leave her in peace. If anything, she was more relieved to be outside because she knew he would not find out what happened next. But why couldn't she tell everyone what she did? The answer was simple: she was too embarrassed to. Twilight knew it, and she still felt bad for Spike, but she hoped that he would forgive her someday.
When she thought back to how she felt the first time she ran into the others, it seemed like things were going to change for the better after all.

A long time passed, then one day Twilight woke up, to find herself standing on a platform, staring at the sun in amazement.
"That was strange~" she said.
"Yeah, you didn't think it was weird at all" Spike admitted with an audible sigh.
"Maybe it was what I expected, right?" Twilight looked around a bit more and noticed, all the people watching were staring too. Her eyes suddenly were wide open and could clearly see just how close everyone was to their friend, a small smile forming on her face, she stood there, not trying to hide her emotion, simply sitting down to drink a cold drink to ease her mind.
"I guess they're good!" Twilight said with an enthusiastic chuckle, pulling out some of her potions and taking a sip. She took another sip to cool her tongue before finishing her drink.
"You are always in my thoughts. I really want to see you," Twilight giggled.
Before Twilight could react to the words that had come out of her mouth, she was sitting up, staring down at the door of the dining room, the one that Twilight had left, and had finally made it to before a storm was to befall Ponyville.
The storm was already upon them and the entire group had just entered the room, waiting at the door only to find themselves stuck in the hallway to be shut down.
As the storm hit the door that stood at the door, no one knew for how long. Just before a gust of wind was heard, it made that door open wide and in came one of the large winged unicorns, the same form and size and height as the one in the bathroom, sitting up in bed and looking at everyone in awe.
A moment later, Rainbow Dash had entered the room before them, trying to calm her nerves and making her bed as best as she could. The two pegasus unicorn sat down opposite of Twilight, who was already still being dragged along the hallways and corridors by the giddy crowd. Rainbow's eyes had been opened.
"Is it true that you're gonna be coming back next month?" the orange-haired princess wondered out loud. It was actually a very good idea to say that word out loud. It would at least distract the crowd if she did get to see the unicorn now, and wouldn't even be a problem if she had been expecting an answer.
Shaking her head slowly, Twilight asked, "Are you sure it's real?"
The two girls shared a look. "Yes, Rainbow. I am... we are going to meet up for a little adventure," Rainbow answered truthfully. "It's my dream that someday, we'll find another way for us to have adventures together. It might be as simple as the last time we met, right?"
Twilight gave a hesitant nod. "Um... sure," Twilight agreed.
The four of them slowly left the carriage, walking down the hill where they stopped by the park entrance. It was still dark and cold at this point, so they opted to sleep while the rest of their friends were out exploring.
In the few moments they had left before sunrise, the two of them passed through a few strange streets and alleys. Their friends couldn't see them at first, but within the time that the sun broke the clouds of darkness, they realized that something strange was happening on the street which resembled a dark tunnel. The ground seemed to vibrate and shake on one side of the tunnel, making their friends want to push and pull at the ground, but the tunnel itself seemed to be standing still. Their friends pushed on the ground too hard, causing it to collapse beneath them. As their friends struggled to get off the ground and back onto their hooves, all they could hear was howling wind and a sound of water cascading. "G-God!" Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash thought to themselves suddenly, but they were still pushed off by several hooves that were thrown forward by something that looked like a gigantic mare. The mare's tail and tail whip were both long and sharp, made of sharp stone and coated with sharp bone. Its mouth was made of stone, covered with sharp points, so that a pebble or rock could be broken easily, and its tongue was formed of pure bone, but it was still able to hold its tongue as well as it could chew bones.
The mare was covered in sharp teeth and large claws, so it could break through small rock at a good angle. It had an enormous tail of enormous size that could even tear through metal and was strong as steel, while the wings were powerful enough to fly through the air with ease. It was also capable of breathing magic and was capable of fighting with the same level of speed and combat capabilities.
The stallion was incredibly intelligent, it could learn the information of other horses, analyze them, and react to unexpected events.
The stallion were also exceptionally loyal to its trainer, in order not to annoy him from time to time.
Once, a stallion was attacked by a wild boar, who had been attracted to her because of her big breasts. The stallion tried to bite the boar to no avail, but when it caught sight of its own tail, it quickly realized that this tail was its prey and ran away.
After some time, the stallion realized that it was really a wild boar that was being attracted to its big breasts. As a result, it ran away from the attack. After several hours, the stallion came back to its owner and said that it was just a stray, and that the boar would definitely not attack it.
When the stallion approached its owner again later, he tried to bite it again, but as soon as he touched it, it grabbed him by the neck and dragged him away.
When the fully-grown stallion tried to fight back, one of its adult male slaves jumped into his lap for help. The slave did as ordered and began to suck the stallion like a baby cow.

"Well," Rarity spoke quietly, "the picture I drew of her was going to take up a lot of room; it's going to look bigger and more ridiculous, it seems." Rarity gave Twilight a curious look; she hadn't expected Twilight to be so interested in them.
"The first picture you sent to Applejack is going to take up way more space than a couple of pages. It's going to be pretty long, too." Rarity finished her thought; she hoped Twilight would like it.
"I don't mind, Rarity; I want you to take some time to consider that before you go and buy more of my drawings, of course," Twilight told her, reaching out with her own hand. "I'll look into the idea, and it looks so simple and fun."
"Do you think you're done with your drawing, Twilight?" Rarity asked, smiling sadly. "We've got plenty to do."
"Yeah, sure," Twilight agreed, walking to the front bench where they were waiting to join their fellow students and professors. As she walked through the crowd, though, something caught Twilight's eye. She noticed something about Rarity and her hair, the way that the pony was dressed, all as though she was wearing a wedding gown. "What is this, Twilight? What do you mean?"
"I'm not sure, Rarity," Twilight admitted. "I'm not sure if it's a wedding dress." With a sigh, Twilight picked up a small, silver-colored crystal pen from her backpack and began to stroke it as if she were working with it, slowly and carefully. She then stopped, looked back out the window, and walked to the front bench and sat down.
"Is something the matter?" Twilight asked the stallion seated right in front of her, a smile spread across his face.
"No, nothing at all," Twilight replied, smiling at him. "I mean, there's been quite a lot of trouble lately…" her voice trailed off.
"Then you know why you're dressed so provocatively."
"Nope, I wasn't," Twilight replied. "Honestly, if you really want to know, it just depends on which part of town you're in." She held out the pen with a small, slightly wavy, pink ring on it and began scratching the ring with a feather.
"Don't worry, I'll never tell anyone about your little shenanigans," Rainbow teased.
"Oh god, why would I do that?" Twilight protested. "Why else are you keeping this up in front of me?" Twilight reached out to touch the back of her neck, and the feather on the pen poked out from over her shoulder, landing in something that her mind had forgotten about.
"Do you think you're a princess?" Rainbow asked, her smile growing wider. "If you're any better at keeping cool that should definitely put you at ease, Twilight."
Twilight couldn't help laughing, "I'm no good at keeping cool, Rainbow," she snorted. "Just because I have all the courage in the world doesn't mean other ponies aren't going to get hurt when they get a little too close." She paused on the heels of her heels, staring at Rainbow like she was something. She was so small, and yet so strong.
The princess let her grin grow wider yet again, until the sun was up and she was surrounded by sky and wind and clouds and people with a warm blanket. It was all so perfect; a perfect day to celebrate an event Rainbow had never gotten around to.
But the night air was cold and she felt like she missed something, something so special she wouldn't understand even if she did look through Twilight's memories again.
"I'm so glad you got the magic ball down, Twilight Scarlatina," Rarity said. The yellow unicorn held the wand in her other hand and smiled when she thought about it. "The magic is in your eyes because we all know that sometimes the sun is wrong and sometimes it's right. Rainbow Dash's gift is to let you see through magic and look for the one thing. But you don't get any of that when you're young."
Luna gasped and put her head against Rarity's shoulder as the latter shook her head and walked away. The latter turned around and gave it a quick glance. Rarity frowned and let out a startled cry of surprise.
"Oh! Who is this?" Rarity asked as she caught sight of what appeared to be her friend.
"I… I don't know, Rarity," Luna answered and her eyes turned back to see what she was staring at.
"Oh come on now, Luna," Rarity said as she shook her head. "This is… well, there weren't any dragons flying around on this ship. Why don't you look around? You might find something," she said pointing towards a spot that was just right, but she didn't find anything. "And you can't have gotten there by seeing someone. Right?"
"I see a dragon flying around, but it's just… it's just…"
Rarity stopped looking at Luna and frowned. "Okay now, here's the most important part," she said. "So if you look around and look for some other people, you'll probably find something interesting. You'll probably find a girl in a red coat and red boots and with a dragon on her back." She turned her gaze to the girl staring back at her. "The person who's in charge of that dragon, then," she said, "is the dragon you've had this conversation with and the person wearing the red coat and red boots." She looked around the group but no one said anything.
Suddenly, she stopped. "That's all I got?" she said sharply.
"Okay," said Luna. "I'm very tired of this and I have a better idea, but I'm thinking I can probably find a place to stay for a while and I'll probably need to find someone else to take care of it. But for now..." Luna glanced over at Twilight for assistance in bringing up the topic of transportation. "This is an emergency." Twilight looked surprised for a second, then nodded. "I've got a plan." "Good! Let's do that," said Luna. "This is important, but we'll be heading out before we can use the lift." "Yes, sure," said Twilight, sitting up on the bed. She had her own work to do in a few minutes and then she would be able to find some people to take care of it. "Okay, let's get going." Luna gave a cheer. "Let's get packing!" After they were finished packing, they got to the main hall outside the door. A few other ponies were waiting for them in the crowd.
"I should make sure to let them know about this. It's important. I got her the new costume," said Rarity. "I don't think she likes the idea of working so hard, but maybe she feels like she's doing good deeds for me. We'll have to see how she feels about that, though. As for the school uniforms..." Luna trailed off with a smirk.
"Ugh," said Luna. "I'm sorry, that's just how she sounds. So why don't you show her here, then I'll give her a few ideas." She tossed the bag of clothes that she'd just pulled out of the trunk over to her friend. "It's a beautiful day, Twilight," she said softly, and then gave Twilight a pensive, melancholy look. "So we'd better get going, then..."
That didn't exactly impress Celestia.
"I was wondering if you could come and play for me on the ride," the younger unicorn said suddenly, looking over towards Luna. "Just once, or I'll... I'll have you shot."
Celestia blinked, and Luna looked away. "A-Ah!" she said, her eyes narrowing. "Oh, sorry, it's nothing, Twilight." The younger unicorn nodded earnestly. "Alright, then," she said, turning back towards Celestia. "There's a bunch of ponies here for today, and a lot of ponies have gotten into mischief, so you're probably best off going in with the intention of catching them once they've got their stuff together," Celestia explained.
"That's not very practical." Pinkie Pie looked at her sister, but didn't reply to her.
Celestia shrugged. "Fine."
She waved through the crowd when she was through, leaving a wide path of ponies behind her, many of which turned around to find their way back into Ponyville. The crowd seemed disorganized.
"Well, that was entertaining, wasn't it?" Princess Luna said with a large smile and a large, winking grin. "But Twilight?"
Twilight stared.
"Huh. Well, maybe in the end, they'll come back in peace," Rarity said.
"Maybe?" Celestia said.
"Maybe they do need to go back to Earth. But don't you think there's more to the world? Just like the ponies could just be coming back through another portal, there should be the world that we came through. It shouldn't need to be brought down by another pony."
As the three of them were leaving the park, the music stopped playing and one of them broke the silence. "So what we need are the ponies to try and talk this one down. Maybe in a few years time this thing will have sorted itself out and everyone will just get on with it."
"It could happen," Celestia said. "Then they won't have to worry about this all the time." So much for the one dimensional outlook on everything. It was easy to imagine how the ponies who'd come after the Crystal Empire would've made it out to the westlands by then too. They'd done it before.
The first thing she said was that she'd been there. The world was so much bigger there's not really room where it starts, but everything else can take us wherever we want.
She'd been out in the plains when the sky grew blue and the winds changed. They were suddenly just the opposite, the wind just like a cloud, like nothing at all, and her eyes went closed once more.
She stared at herself in the mirror for a second longer before coming to and sitting down in the sand. She wiped her goggles off and got her jacket and sat back down to look into the sea of sunlight that had suddenly become clear and bright that morning. In one hand was a small puddle of water, with the other on top of her was a little pink bottle.
"How was that?" The Princess asked, the thought of what Luna would do now making her smile. It didn't sound like a good one.
"That wasn't so bad, it was so nice to finally have someone to talk to," Celestia replied as she drank her water.
"Yeah, it was sweet, and kinda scary but at first I was kinda worried about him doing something stupid, and then I actually got used to his company and got used to it being real and I was happy, even though I was so upset it was a lot of fun!" The Princess said, giving a laugh. She had been the one to start the fire and put in most of the cooking for the wedding. She also gave Equestria some extra food when the Princesses were eating. The Princesses looked at one another with eyes of wonder, knowing that she wouldn't be disappointed. "Well, if you're doing well then you're doing great too! We all do, so just get started!" The Princesses said as she took out the two kitchen lights from the back of her vehicle and set to work putting them up with her magic.
There was only one thing left in the kitchen and that was the oven. All of the Princesses worked out exactly how to make this delicacy.
"Are you going to keep your promise?" Twilight Sparkle inquired, smiling down her new friend.
"Absolutely," Twilight said, pulling out her magic wand. "Now come inside. I want you to have everything baked and ready to eat."
"Oh, thank you," Princess Celestia said with a smile, taking over Twilight's cooking duties. Twilight was happy to finally have all her ponies' cooks on her side. The best way to make it work was to ask them in person! After all, the better they could cook, the better she'd make sure things were delicious.
"So this is the oven," Twilight said, picking up Princess Celestia's baking sheet. Then she started decorating it up. "Do you like this?"
"Yes," Princess Celestia smiled. "I've always liked it."
"All the better," Twilight agreed.
"We should go eat in the library," Nightmare Moon suggested. "I think she'd rather just watch the news while watching me."
"Maybe she's looking forward to the parade next year," said Twilight.
"Oh, come on," Nightmare Moon said. "Is Celestia actually watching?"
"Of course not," Twilight said. "I would just sit there and watch the news."
"You should see the weather forecast!" Nightmare Moon said. "I think my dad would like to watch the parade."
"That was probably going on when he came back, too," Sunset Shimmer thought as she poured coffee for them. She watched the sun go down over the campus, but then, she wasn't sure, the sun just went off for a second. "I really need to relax," she thought. She was sure the kids were all feeling the strain, too, but she and Sunset weren't feeling that too much at the moment. This was the least of their worries. She really needed some rest.
The bell rang and they got up, walking down the sidewalk and over to a convenience store and checking it out. The man there noticed the signs on the walls. "Honey, would you like a free soda on a sugar high?" he said and nodded. The boy who made the sign at that time, they were now talking about. "That sounds fun," she muttered back.
Sunset Shimmer nodded. They walked outside and bought sugar water dispensers, then went inside and looked around the store. It was a fairly typical store. A lot of ponies looked happy. They talked to people and the girls were doing their usual thing, making out and taking pictures. The ponies were talking loudly and singing. They looked at Sunset Shimmer and she looked over her shoulder and saw Sunset Shimmer with one finger up, dancing, and Twilight Sparkle staring at her. The rest of the group of ponies were looking at each other and Twilight, looking like she was about to burst into tears, suddenly felt warm. She reached over and put her arms around a purple pony-tailed pony of unknown origin. Sunset Shimmer gave her a wide grin and then turned and hugged Twilight, her hand resting in his.
A little before the show went on, Sunlight began walking through the woods, looking for Sunset Shimmer. A little bit later, the group of ponies stopped and looked up at the sky. Sunset Shimmer was still at the top of the sky but now was not the time to look. She looked up past the trees and saw Twilight.
Shimmer stepped out of the shadows and walked up to Twilight and hugged her. "I love you too, my best friend." The redhead replied with a happy smile and she took him, letting the rest of her group to follow her. Sunlight stepped back and let her sister take the rest of them down behind the castle entrance.
"Hey little red." The little red pony said walking to their hiding spot in the castle. "We're back! Oh Twilight, what happened next we cannot really remember, but we are back."
"I will look after the rest for you." Twilight replied. "Well, good luck my little sister." She said to her 18+ friend before taking off. Twilight and her friend watched each others steps as they walked away for another two hours, feeling content and happy with how their lives had been.
