My Little Pony: The Ninja of Equestria

2. The Capital - Arc 1

Previous Chapter

A month has passed since the appearance of Alain to the small town, and the residents have taken good care of the human when he didn't do anything bad to them. They were happy about the fact that he was kind, friendly, funny, gentle, and a bit caring as well. He was also a bit shy and hesitant to admit some things, they noted when they had asked who his parents were.

After the four weeks have passed for them, with the human living amongst the ponies, Alain decided to travel to the capital city of the land, which was known as Equestria, of what the ponies named it.

The kind residents gave him a map to the capital city of Canterlot, which he found out was the name of the capital. They also told him that, if he were to get lost, he should just ask for directions to a friendly creature.

Once he got ready with the necessary supplies, Alain began his journey to Canterlot after he finished the breakfast, and lunch when he waited until noon had passed.

Afterwards, Alain made his way out of the town's square and stepped to the outside world as he waved farewell to the ponies he lived with this past month.

Turning his head to the path, the boy started to walk forward as he has begun his long journey to the capital of the ponies.

A few hours passed since he begun his trek to Canterlot. It was around the evening as the yellow sun was beginning to set over the horizon as the clouds turned to orange alongside the sky behind them.

Alain continued making his way through the terrain he was in, before stopping as he panted a for a moment's time while looking around before taking his map out to see where he was going.

"Hm. So, Canterlot should be behind those mountains I see over there," Alain noted as he looked over to the mountains in front of the distance from where he was standing. "If I keep going straight, I might get there before the night...but if I should take a turn around the mountains, it could take longer. What to do?" He hummed the last line in wonder, rubbing his chin while he was thinking of a way to get past the two mountains.

Shrugging, Alain rolled the map and placed it back in his travelling bag as he walked to the left, taking the longer route to Canterlot instead of walking straight as he wanted to see more of Equestria before then.

It was night time. The dark, starry sky was calmly shining with the decorated stars on its breathtaking appearance. Alain still thought this night was beautiful like that time when he arrived in Equestria one month ago.

Alain walked over to a nearby tree and leaned on it as he drifted off to a peaceful sleep.

Within the dreamworld of the human, he awoke to find himself in a town he did not know about. As he wondered about the town, he pictured it to be one of the nearby towns from the capital that one of his guides from the town he had resided in he was told about.

Its name was...Ponyville, he thought it to be. He snickered underneath his hand at the name of the town, but decided not to judge it any further.

Shaking his head, Alain wandered through the dreamscape of Ponyville, curious to see where it should lead to on the path. After he wandered for some time in his dreamworld, the human was suddenly thrown aback at seeing a bright light in the beautiful night sky.

Coming out of the light...was a dark blue colored pony with wings and a horn. Her dark blue coat, to the human, was rather beautiful to him. Her floating blue mane and tail had small stars on them. Her neck, and hooves were with some kind of royally fashion with gray starry shoes and a moon-like necklace.

The human looked curiously at the winged pony, as she stared back at him with a bright smile on her expression.

"Greetings, human," the pony greeted him, shocking the boy as he didn't know she knew about his species.

"How...do you know my race?" Alain asked quickly, taken aback at the realization.

"I've been studying your species from the time that I returned to Equestria," the mare replied. "Let's just say, that I'm amazed at your ancestors of the humans."

Alain blinked. "You're interested in the ninjas of my homeland?"

"Oh, yes. Very interested," she nodded. "Those...abilities you use...are they some form of magic of your world?"

"Yes and no," Alain responded. "These abilities are not magic--they're called Jutsu. There are many types of ninja abilities that grant the users their powers. I can't reveal the rest yet, since I don't know much about the Jutsu power."

"I understand," the mare gave a nod in understanding. "Oh! Forgot to introduce myself: My name is Princess Luna, the Princess of the Night and the Defender of Dreams. Nice to meet you." She held her hoof to the boy.

"And, my name is Alain. At your service, Princess," the human shook her hoof. Returning his hand, Alain looked around the dreamscape of Ponyville before glancing back to the waiting Princess. "I am looking for this Canterlot place. Do you know when I'll reach it? I'm near the mountain peaks in the real world."

"Ah," Luna smiled. "I see. Well, just go straight forward, to a long plain. If you see another mountain peak, with a city coming out of the side, that's where you'll be able to find Canterlot. Until then, I will await your arrival to the palace."

"How do I enter the palace?" Alain asked her. She smirked at his question.

"Just say, that you have a meeting with me, and that you need to keep your tone politely," Luna told him, winking to him at the last line.

Then, the dream ended.

Alain's eyes opened as he noticed it was already day, in the morning. He yawned as he stretched after he got up from his position. Once done, he decided to continue his travel to Canterlot where he would be meeting Luna from his dream, from what she told him within it.

Turning his face to the path towards the large plain behind the mountain peaks, Alain walked forward as he made his way to the plain.

As he continued to walk through the morning, he was humming at how those ponies in Canterlot would react to him. If they're unlike the residents of the town he arrived in a month ago, would he be able to live within the capital city of Equestria with Luna? Perhaps it might be better to that town of Ponyville he should be able to see from the city's peak. If that were his choices, he's better to go with the former for now to see their reactions to his presence in Canterlot.

When he stepped on a broken bush branch, Alain stopped completely as he frowned...until his eyes looked surprised to find a sudden horde of manticores surrounding him. He wondered how they were able to hear the branch from a long range.

Okay, note to self: never do that again when they're in hearing range... Alain thought, sweat dropping on his cheeks as he realized his mistake.

The manticores roared as they bent down on their front paws to charge at the strange ape creature. When the human readied himself, they charged at him as the battle was now on.

Alain dodged a strike from one of the manticores of the horde, sighing in relief before it turned to horror as one pair of claws slashed him across his face, causing three claw marks to appear on his cheek. He winced from the hurting marks that appeared on his face, holding his hand on it to make it stop bleeding.

Seeing their chance at the distraction, the manticores charged in at full force to the human, who had little time to react as he was met with a lot of claws slashing on his body, causing him to give off a loud scream of pain as he was continuously attacked on all sides by the manticores.

The manticores stepped away as their leader readied its poisonous tail to strike the human to finish him off...when a bright light scared them away to the forest near the plain.

Alain fell to his knees from the many scratches he received as he barely managed to avoid the manticore's tail of poison. Managing to get a look on the figure trotting up to him, he blacked out on the ground.

When consciousness returned to him, Alain slowly opened his eyes, finding himself inside of a room in someplace he were unsure of.

The door opened, which made him to look at the figure trotting inside the room. It was someone he did not meet before. Her coat was white, with her mane and tail being multicolored, her eyes a pink color as her shoes on the hooves were a golden color, and her necklace was that of the picture of the sun.

"Are you alright?" the mare asked him, trotting up to him.

"I...think?" Alain cringed at the pain just by speaking.

The mare shook her head at the pain the boy was feeling. "You shouldn't try to cause more pain to your body. It had already gotten a lot of pressure from the manticores, and is the reason of why you're in such a condition like now."

Alain winced at the dumb move he tried to do; he tried to lift his hand up, only for the pain to appear again. When he looked at the white pony again, he asked, "Who might you be? If I may ask."

The mare smiled warmly at the question, introducing herself. "I am Princess Celestia, the co-ruler of Equestria, and the bringer of the day. I give my subjects the warm and welcoming of the sun in my presence to them."

Alain tried to smile back, only for him to cringe from more pain in him.

Celestia shook her head at his pain. "Don't try to move another day or two. As for that, I'll see if I can remove the pain a bit quicker than having you to wait forty-eight hours until it stops by itself." A thought came at that sentence, where the mare hummed before gently laying her horn on Alain's arm, which caused him to gasp in pain from the touch.

A warm feeling surged through him as Alain was healed from the pain he had felt for the past hour when he awoke. As he tried to move his arm, he noticed there were no more pain in it as he moved it.

"What'd you do?" Alain had to ask her.

She smiled as she answered his question. "I simply lend you some of my magic, to get the pain away for your body's slow recovery." She thought she had also felt some powerful being in him, but she did not mind about that thought very much. All she cared for was the boy's recovery state.

Alain blinked as he took in her words as he thanked her. "Thank you."

"You're welcome," Celestia nodded in return.

Afterwards, the Princess left the room to give the human some time to himself.

Four days passed, and Alain was good to leave the hospital, where he was in he realized was the place he had been taken to, and was now on the streets of Canterlot on the path to the palace as he walked in silence until he reached the palace gates where two guards stopped him before he entered.

"I have a meeting with Princess Luna." Was all he said to the guards, when they looked at each other before allowing him to enter the palace.

As the human walked through the halls to the throne room to meet up with the Princess of the Night, he stopped to find a purple unicorn near the lake of the palace laying on her hooves as she stared at the water.

Deciding not to interrupt her, Alain continued his walk to the throne room.

The unicorn that was at the lake glanced curiously at the upright creature that was in the palace's halls. She noted to ask him later about it.

Alain was finally at the throne room's door, as he sighed in concentration, trying to get the right things to say to the Princess of the Night. After his calm state, he knocked on the door as it opened right at the knocking. He blinked at the quick response but shrug it off as he stepped inside the throne room.

Walking fora few steps forward, the door closed as Alain breathed before facing the dark blue pony he met in his dream a couple of days ago.

"Ah. You're here!" Luna exclaimed as she trotted down her throne to meet up with the human. "Took you long enough."

"Well," Alain started. "With me who got scratches all over his body, falling unconscious as it seemed to be my end until I was rescued, and that I was taken to the hospital to recover from the pain I was in, how could I not have been coming here sooner?" He noticed a humoured smile on Luna's expression.

"Yes, well," Luna began, "my sister insisted on saving you from your near-death experience as she didn't want to lose somepony who is in her kingdom."

"She cares about her subjects, do she not?" Alain asked, as he knew the answer.

"Oh yes! Very much," Luna nodded. "All she cares, is bringing them warmth, harmony and friendship throughout Equestria. That's what we basically do when there's no threat or dangerous creatures in our peaceful kingdom."

"I've noticed," Alain said in knowingly, remembering his kind guides when he arrived.

"Did you meet my sister yet?" Luna asked the boy.

"Yes, four days ago when I were at the hospital," Alain replied, still feeling that touch she did on him with her magical horn.

"That's good," Luna said in acknowledgment. "She was caring, wasn't she?"

"That, she was," Alain added, "She also cared for my health's stability. This is a first time I've been worried about."

"What's that mean?" Luna questioned in curiosity, tilting her head to the side.

Alain sighed, "Back in my earlier years on my planet, there were really no other of my species that worried for me when I got hurt, either physically or mentally. They cared only for themselves. That was after what happened to my parents, who I don't know about or what they look like. I'm a loner, and have always been that."

"I'm sorry," Luna said.

"Don't be. That was a long time ago. Twelve years from now," Alain told her, sighing in his disturbing thoughts.

After the conversation with the Night Princess, Alain bid her a farewell as he walked out of the throne room, deciding to stay in the city for a while.
