Reincarnation
Bugle Horn
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe Dull sensation of Consciousness tugged at Leaf Storm for a few moments before she shot up, earning herself another bout of lightheadedness as she looked around the room she was in. It was a medical room with floating candles shaped like ducks and an eye-checking station with letters that kept changing.
"Discord," Leaf Storm sighed out, resulting in the God of Chaos snapping several versions of himself into existence around her bed.
"Ah good you're awake," Discord said as he held up a ping pong paddle with papers nailed to the back of it, Discord ripped off one of the papers and it began spinning like a fan blade and flew out of sight "Seems you're suffering from a major case of Magic withdrawals,"
"Oh ha-ha," Leaf Storm motioned for him to get to the point, and he did just that.
"You drained every drop of magic you had into Peache's potion, I highly recommend not doing that ever again, your body is young so it's fine. But next time, if you're lucky, your heart might stop,"
"That's the lucky outcome?" Leaf scoffed "Don't wanna know the other's, so no more potions?"
"None quite so potent at least," Discord tore off another page and it became an origami swan and flapped away a few feet before exploding into confetti, "I'd say no more than three light potions or one potent potion, I've already informed Peach of it, also I officially declare I've made a move against you,"
"A move against me?" Leaf Storm asked equal parts curious as she was concerned at the statement.
"I know you're planning to, at some point, tell the girls who you are or were, and I will get in so much trouble when you do, so I've moved against your plans,"
"Ah," Leaf Storm noted, apparently not giving the reaction Discord had wanted or at least expected.
"Ah?" Discord repeated in a mildly frustrated tone.
"I mean, if we're being honest, I expected this the moment you revealed you were the reason I still had my old memories," Discord fell to his knees dramatically, looking as though he had just been stabbed before falling over onto his hands and beating the floor, he let out a deep, dramatic breath and cried out.
"Am I that predictable," He demanded. Leaf Storm stared him dead in the eye for a long, silent moment. And then proceeded to shift her gaze guilty.
"N...no?" Discord fell limp like a fish, and Leaf Storm got out of her hospital bed and used her magic to tuck him into it, adding a thermometer and an ice pack to his head before picking up the Ping pong paddle and looking at its blank notes.
"So, I'm told you've come down with a serious case of predictability?" Discord let out a deep sob and swooned before speaking.
"Oh, Doctor, tell me to do it straight. How bad is it?"
"Bad enough that I knew you'd mess up that question for the sake of a gag," Leam Storm noted as she tore off a page and tossed it over her shoulder, resulting in falling to the floor and sobbing softly into the floor.
Leaf Storm heard the door open but chose to ignore it as she continued playing her part.
"I'd recommend trying something more original,"
"I am the definition of Originality," Discord snapped back.
"I heard the Pickle-jar chalk goo wasn't exactly unheard of,"
"You did that," Discord snapped back.
"No, you had your assistant do it; it doesn't change the fact you orchestrated the entire event; ergo, you did it, and it wasn't original,"
"Sometimes I hate you," Discord said the statement in such a serious tone that Leaf Storm realized he was trying to set her up for whatever story he was using to hide the fact she had once been Spike, Leaf Storm immediately turned around and looked at Fluttershy.
"Ah, so that's who you put on a show for,"
"Stop doing that!" Discord said in an almost sincere-sounding tone of offense.
"Stop making it so easy," Leaf Storm shot back as she tossed the Ping-Pong Paddle to the side, leaving it to bounce away. "Have you mayhaps seen my Chicken?"
"Yes, Sunflower is currently watching over Angel for you," Leaf Storm nodded slowly,
"I take it from the fact you now know his name that Angel maybe told you something he wasn't supposed to?"
"Well, I may have accidentally told Sunflower about you having the ability to return from death," Leafstorm made the sound of a deflating Balloon before Fluttershy added, "And Discord mentioned your Trumpet," Having no idea what Fluttershy was talking about, Leafstorm replied with the dumbest response she could think of.
"Bugle horn," Leaf declared.
"Trumpet," Discord called out firmly.
"Bugle horn," Leaf shot back before raising her hooves, "I ain't got fingers. How would I press the weird button thingy on a Trumpet,"
"Trumpet," Discord said stubbornly as another version of him modified the giant trumpet into a Bugle horn.
"You know I can't even be mad about you getting the name wrong because it's so..."
"Don't you dare," Discord snapped back as he shot out of bed and stared at Leaf Storm, "Don't. You. Dare,"
"...predictable," Leaf Storm whispered back mockingly. Discord screamed in outrage and began flopping on the bed like a drying-out fish. "Alright, I win; pardon me, Fluttershy, I need to ask a flower about a bird,"
Leaving Discord to his tantrum Leaf opened the door Fluttershy had originated from and found herself in a cottage, a place as familiar to her as it was unfamiliar.
"Wow," She muttered as she looked around Fluttershy's cottage, so similar to his old memories, and yet so far removed due to no small fact that he hadn't even been in his triple digits before becoming too big to enter the room. "Hasn't changed a bit," Not wanting to creep around Fluttershy anymore than she already was Leaf Strom left through the front door, It almost felt like she was back in the past with how little the surroundings had changed, but Leaf Storm could see the massive city that had grown around Fluttershy's cottage.
It was still nice to walk across the grounds, enjoying the small blast from the past before reaching a large gate and massive fence that made it impossible to see the street, "At least Fluttershy doesn't have to worry about anyone goggling at her while she tends to her animals,"
Upon opening up the gate, and taking care to close it behind her Leaf looked up to the castle, but instead of just going home, she figured she should enjoy the freedom from her demon Chicken while she still could.
And if there was any one place she wanted to see after thousands of years, it was a simple, unimposing Applefarm she hoped would be as unchanged as Fluttershy's cottage had been.
Author's Note
This Chapter was originally longer but I decided to cut part of it and make it the next chapter, mostly just so you guys had a little something to read while I finished working on it.
