Or The Knight, The Quest, and The Forest.
It was dawn of a beautiful, warm spring day in Ponyville, and all is normal, Sweet Apple Achers full of life as the morning chores are being completed, while the majority of the town's occupants remain asleep.
A perfect morning in a perfect, peaceful town, but deep in the Everfree Forest, an armored clad pony lays motionless on the forest floor.
This pony, a young male unicorn in his late teens with a coat of a royal blue, a short jet-black youthful mane, and eyes that, most who knew him would say, glow with a gradient of neon green on the outer sides to a promante maroon near the iris, his Cutie mark is a shield with a moon on it over a red and green version of Twilight Sparkle's Cutie mark. He stares out at the dark forest in front and around him, his armor, a one-of-a-kind set made to his specifications, not because he was of nobility, but because he is a knight of the Royal Canterlot Court, shines dimly in the little light that makes it through the tree leaves layers.
All he can recall from before he awoke in this forest was the success of the quest that was given to him by Princess Celestia herself. The success of the quest and the disappearance of the pony doing it, had actually passed it self into Equstrian legends, for it was but a young teenage unicorn who did not only vanquish the evil Griffon Warlock, but also rescued the Lunar maiden in the process. This quest was said to have happened over a millenia ago, and happened far before the rise of Nightmare Moon.
As if it just happened, he recalls the moment the evil Griffon Warlock cast his spell on him, the world, from that point, started to fade to black, but not before he saw the death of the evil Warlock, and the success of the quest he worked so hard to complete to earn the approval of the Lunar Princess.
Now he's not in the Griffon's layer, he's not in some bed in the infirmary at Canterlot Castle, he's not in his quarters in the cot that he has slept in for most of his life, but he is in a strange forest, lost, confused, and tired. There is only one thing on his mind, and that is to find a way to civilization, and then find his way back to the castle so he can finally finish the quest completely.
Chapter 1:
Time shock: or The Unicorn, The Zebra, And The Realization.
The young stallion began to get yo, trying as hard as he can to grasp the reality that he had left over a milina ago.
The last thing he could remember was the epic battle with the Griffon Warlock, who before submitting to the wounds the unicorn inflicted, cast a spell that robbed the young knight of his future at that period in time, the life which he worked so hard to achieve only one goal, the approval of the one mare who he owed his life to. The mare that taught him everything he knows, and raised him as if he were her own blood kin. The one who's night had provided him with the cover he used so often to perform his quest, and when not doing a quest, he would enjoy time with learning more and more about her creations.
Finally giving up on the futile attempts to understand and grasp everything that has happened, is happening, and what led up to both of those events linking each other together, the young stallion looks around trying to find something, anything that looked like a path, which proved to be difficult in the strange unsettling darkness that makes it Taboo to enter the Everfree Forest at anytime of the day.
Eventually finding a rather old path, he headed the direction that he felt, would lead him to civilization. He continued following this path until he found himself looking at a Zebra tribal hut in the distance. Happiness filling him, he runs to the hut, hoping that who ever lived there would be friendly.
Now standing at the door of the hut, the unicorn recomposes himself, gaining a composer of nobility that was almost natural for him. His face, though young, showed the knowledge and wisdom that was uncommon for a Stallion of his age to have.
Knocks on the door of the hut, expecting a Zebra Witch-Doctor to open it, but to his surprise a Lavender Unicorn opens it instead. Her eyes, a much deeper purple then her coat, showed just as much surprise, obviously expecting somepony else to be there.
“Um. Good Marrow fair Maiden, I am sorry to to disturb thou, but I have awoken to find myself deep with in this forest. So I ask you Miss, could thou point me in the direction of the closest village?” He spoke with a vocabulary and tone that the Lavender mare recognized from the time she spent with the Lunar Maiden on Nightmare Night.
“Princess Luna is that you?” She asked, unsure if the Lunar Princess is playing tricks on her with illusion magic.
“Nay, I am Silver Plate, Knight of the Royal Canterlot Court. Why dost thou confuse me with my mentor?” The stallion asked, cocking his head to one side.
Upon hearing that name, memories of her child hood flash back to her, as her brother's favorite storybook to read to her was about a knight named exactly the same thing. Her brother always told her that he was one of the reasons he wanted to become a knight, and also told her that the story was not a fairy tale.
Her mind racing to try to decided what it is that's in front of her.
“Excuse me Maiden, art thou okay?”
