Nightmare Moon vs King Sombra

Trixie was in front of Cristal’s heart. She smiled as she slowly approached her heart. But, when she stepped on the spot where the heart was, it made a sound of alarm. Trixie tried to take the heart, but the heart fell out, and she was trapped with black crystals around. Trixie tried to teleport herself, but she failed. Because the magic of the King Sombra ended up bringing her back. Trixie sighed. She failed everypony. And most importantly, her mentor. She teleported a parchment, a feather and an ink. She knew her mentor wouldn’t want to come and help her, but what would it cost to try?

Luna was on the balcony, thinking of Trixie. She wondered if her student was succeeding. Until, a letter appeared in front of her. She was surprised. She didn’t expect a letter to come to her. She took the letter with her magic and began reading, “dear Princess Luna, I hate to say that to a princess, but, Trixie couldn’t save the Crystal Empire. Trixie is trapped in the castle. You could come rescue me and save the Crystal Empire. Trixie is sorry for failing. I understand you if you want to get me out of my position as your student- Trixie "

Luna closed the letter. She let out a sigh, she didn’t expect Trixie would fail. But she wouldn’t take Trixie out of her position as her student, “why the sigh, sister?” asked Celestia.

Luna looked at her sister and replied, “Trixie failed the test”

Celestia was in a bad mood, “I told you it wasn’t a good send Trixie to save the Crystal Empire”

Luna sighed again, “I know, Sister. But I had to do this to know if she was ready to become one of us”

“And that proves she’s not ready yet”, concluded Celestia.

“Yes, sister,” agreed Luna. “Now, I’m going to save my student from the hooves of the King Sombra”

“Okay, Sister,” said Celestia. “I go to my bedroom to sleep”

Luna went up to the balcony she was in and jumped to fly. She knew that to get to the Crystal Empire would be time-consuming.

Trixie was in the same place she was. She tried to push the crystals out with her magic, but failed. She sighed in defeat, “I give up”

Suddenly, a male voice said, “I’m happy about that”

Trixie turned her head, and the black crystals came out and King Sombra appeared, “King Sombra!” exclaimed Trixie in a stance of attack.

“I see you know me, foal”, said King Sombra.

“Yes, the princess told me your story”, said Trixie, still in her attacking position.

“Hmm, interesting,” said King Sombra. “Tell me, are you a student of Luna?”

“Yes,” answered Trixie. “Why?”

“Simple, I noticed by your Cutie Mark,” replied King Sombra. “Being your Cutie Mark a moon, it could only mean that you’re her student”

“But enough of talk. I came here because I have a proposal for you”, said King Sombra with a smile.

“What proposal?” asked Trixie.

“Would you like to be my student?” asked King Sombra.

“Why would I want to be a tyrant’s student?!” exclaimed Trixie.

“Don’t you see?” asked King Sombra. “You could learn more magic. Black magic mainly. Don’t you want to learn more?”

“I would never betray the princess!” exclaimed Trixie as she prepared her magic to attack.

King Sombra noticed that Trixie was going to use magic, “now, take it easy. I’m just talking and you want to fight with me?”

“Yes. You were causing evil to the crystal ponies!“ replied Trixie before using her magic in King Sombra.

But, King Sombra deflected. And with his eyes all green said, “so be it”

King Sombra turned a Shadow and went to Trixie. Trixie used her magic, but for some reason the magic wasn't being effective. Was it because he was a shadow?

King Sombra grabbed Trixie with his magic, “I’ll show you your biggest fear”

King Sombra put his horn on Trixie’s head as he used his magic.

Trixie opened her eyes and saw that she was inside Canterlot Castle. She saw Luna approaching. Her mentor had a serious face. Trixie, for the first time, felt afraid of Luna and fled to the door. But the door closed with Luna’s magic, “Don’t think of running away, Trixie. Do you think you can escape the consequences?”

Trixie was trembling with fear. She swore she could cry and feel her tears, “Trixie Lulamoon, I am removing you from your position as my pupil. Because Thanks to you, King Sombra dominated the Crystal Empire“, said Luna seriously.

Trixie began to cry, “please, no ... “ She whispered softly.

Trixie was on the floor, shifting as she cried with her eyes closed. King Sombra laughed at Trixie’s desperation, “I won!”

“Not yet, King Sombra”, said Luna at the window.

King Sombra smiled and turned his head, “you may have defeated my student, but didn’t defeat the princess of Equestria”

“You? And your sister? Isn’t she the Princess of Equestria too?“ asked King Sombra.

“She’s the Co-Regent”, replied Luna, now entering.

Luna looked at the floor and saw her student on the floor with her eyes closed, she took Trixie with her magic and looked at her worriedly, “what did you do to her?”

“I put her into a state of sleep, now she’s witnessing her worst nightmare”, replied King Sombra.

Luna knew what was the biggest fear of Trixie: It was Luna removing Trixie from her position as a student. Luna knew Trixie would be crying now. She had to save the Empire, defeat the King Sombra, take Trixie out of the sleeping state that King Sombra placed on her student and comfort her when Trixie wakes up. She put her student under her belly, and looked at King Sombra angry, “your empire of fear and terror ends today, King Sombra”

King Sombra smiled, “would you dare to prevent the king of the darkness?”

“You’re wrong, King Sombra”, replied Luna before closing her eyes.

Luna opened her eyes. Her eyes were now dragon slits, “I am the queen of darkness!”

King Sombra was startled and stepped back. Luna slowly approached King Sombra as shadows wrapped around Luna’s hooves.

“I may be the princess of Equestria, but I also have my dark and evil side as my sister”, said Luna.

King Sombra made a sword appear to attack Luna. But, Luna made a sword appear and defended herself with it, “its powers may be darkness, but they are nothing compared to mine!”

Suddenly, the shadows wrapped around Luna’s body. And now, in place, was Nightmare Moon. King Sombra was in shock, paralyzed.

Nightmare Moon opened her eyes, and began to sneer, “you look scared, it seems I am the queen of fear after all”

King Sombra attacked Nightmare Moon, but Nightmare Moon defended herself with her sword. They were fighting with the sword for a while. Until King Sombra had an idea. He took Trixie, who was still in a state of sleep, “if you don’t give up, I’m going to throw your student out the window, and look we’re up high”

Nightmare Moon showed something she never imagined to show, desperation, “no! Don’t do it!”

King Sombra laughed and simply threw Trixie to the window. Now Trixie was falling, “No!” exclaimed Nightmare Moon before going to the window and picking up her student.

Nightmare Moon was nowhere near to catch Trixie. But, she then remembered that she was an allicorn. She used her magic and picked up Trixie and headed back to the top of the castle. She looked at King Sombra, now more irritated, “how dare you do that to my dear student?!”

King Sombra smiled, “to feed on your fear!”

King Sombra used his magic, “and now I’m stronger!” King Sombra grabbed Nightmare Moon with his magic. Nightmare Moon stirred as she fought to escape the magic of King Sombra.

“And now, I will show you your greatest fear!” exclameid King Sombra.

“I’m not afraid of anything!” exclaimed Nightmare Moon.

King Sombra put his horn on Nightmare’s helmet while he wore his magic.

Nightmare Moon opened her eyes and saw that she was her castle in Canterlot. She suddenly heard two sighs. She turned her head and saw Celestia and Trixie. Celestia looked at Nightmare Moon with an angry look, “what have you done to my sister, your monster?!” exclaimed Celestia.

Nightmare Moon was surprised for what Celestia said, “sister, it’s me”

“No! My sister wouldn’t look like a monster like you!“ exclaimed Celestia.

Nightmare Moon couldn’t believe it. Her sister didn’t recognize her. She stared at the floor, sadly.

“Princess? Is that you?“ asked Trixie as she walked slowly to Nightmare Moon.

Nightmare Moon looked fearfully at her student. She let out a sigh, “Yes, my student. It’s me”

Trixie walked away in fear, “stay away from me!”

Nightmare Moon approached Trixie, “Trixie ...”

Trixie noticed Nightmare Moon approaching her. She ran away from the castle. Her sister was looking at her seriously, “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll comfort Trixie”

Nightmare Moon couldn’t believe what just happened, she lost her sister and her student. Until, she remembered that it was all just a nightmare.

Nightmare Moon stood up, “h-how is this possible ?!” exclaimed King Sombra in a frightened way.

“Simple,” replied Nightmare Moon. “I could see that what you showed me was a nightmare”

Nightmare Moon used all magic in King Sombra, King Sombra shouted, while disappearing. After that, she exhaled tiredly. She saw the crystal heart on the floor and put back the crystal heart. All the black crystals that were in the crystal city, disappeared. The ponies turned to crystals ponies again. Nightmare Moon looked at the castle floor and saw her student. Smiling, she was again Luna, took her with her magic and took her to the castle Canterlot flying.

Trixie was sleeping, moaning, until she opened her eyes, she put a hoof on the head, “urgh, where am I?”

“In the infirmary of the castle, Trixie”, answered a familiar voice.

Trixie looked to the left and saw Luna, “Princess Luna!”

Trixie hugged Luna with her front hooves, Luna returned the hug. Suddenly, Luna felt tears in her coat, “I-I’m sorry, princess”

Luna was confused, “sorry for what?”

“I failed in the test, Princess,” replied Trixie. “I understand if you want to get me out of my position as your student”

Luna stroked Trixie’s mane, “there, there, Trixie”

Trixie looked at Luna, “Will you get me out of my position as your student?”

“Of course not, Trixie”, smiled Luna.

“Really? Thank you!“ Trixie hugged Luna.

Luna in reply, just smiled.
