Chapters Facing A Strange New World With Confidence
"Oh, my head." I groan
"Uh, Twilight?" I hear a voice say.
I open my eyes. "Huh, Spike!?" I shout in confusion. "How am I?... Are you a dog?"
"I... think so. But I have no idea what you are!" He says in just as much, if not more, confusion.
I then look down at myself. "Huh?" I'm still human, and a girl, but now I've got pale purple skin instead of tan, navy blue hair with pink and purple streaks in it instead of medium brown with pink and blue streaks, and I look like I could be on the cover of Seventeen magazine. I feel the bridge of my nose and find that my glasses are gone, but I can see perfectly. I look at my clothes now, they're the same ones that Twilight wears in Equestria Girls and Rainbow Rocks, and the skirt is really short for me. I search my memories for any clue how I got here. I find two memories that help. Me and Annabelle going to Brony-Con and me buying the crown and my excruciatingly painful transformation. And a second memory, Twilight, or myself, going to a princess summit and Sunset stealing my crown, then me going through the mirror. I take a deep breath. "Jesus, help me through this." I pray out loud.
"Um, are you ok Twilight?" Spike says fearfully to me. "You're talking to nopony."
I take another deep breath. "I'm fine Spike. Let's look through my... saddle bag."
Opening the backpack, I find notebooks and pencils, the fake crown that Sunset replaced Twi... my crown with, a phone, and a book. I pick it up and read the title. "Holy Bible, NLT." I knew God wouldn't forsake me.
"What's that. We never had a book like that at home." Spike asks.
"I've uh, kept it hidden. It's a very valuable book." I say nervously.
"If you say so." Spike says dubiously.
"Come on. Let's search the school. Hop in." I tell Spike holding out my backpack.
"Why do I need to be in your saddlebag?" Spike asked confused, "And how do you know it's a school?"
"Look, it's definitely not a castle, and it looks kind of like Princess Celestia's School, and you weren't allowed at Celestia's school, and I'm not taking any chances. So hop in." I say while searching my new memories for proof.
"Fine." Spike says, obviously not happy.
Trying to keep my balance, I start walking to the school. I manage to walk around five steps before falling face first. I get back up again and manage to get inside the school. I walk over to the display case and see that Rainbow was the one who won all of these awards. Then the bell rings and in all the hullabaloo I fall and crawl my way out, doing a somersault trying to release my foot, bumping into someone.
I then hear that someone say, "Hey, are you ok?" Flash Sentry says holding out his hand.
I take his hand and say, "Yes. I just tripped. Thank you?..."
"Oh," he says looking embarrassed. "My name is Flash Sentry. What's yours?"
"Oh where are my manners?" I say. "My name is Twilight Sparkle. Nice to meet you Flash. Or do you prefer Mr. Sentry?" I say teasing him.
"No, it's Flash." He says playing along. "I'll keep an eye out for you, Twilight. Or do you prefer Ms. Sparkle?" He says with a twinkle in his eye.
"Definitely Twilight." I say quickly. "I'll see you around."
"Not if I see you first." He calls to me as he walks away.
Knowing what's supposed to come next, I try to think of the tune and words to Strange New World, but instead the music and lyrics to Confidence comes to me.
I’m not a warrior
I’m too afraid to lose
I feel unqualified for what you’re calling me to do
But Lord with your strength
I’ve got no excuse
'Cause broken people are exactly who you use
I start to smile and walk more Confidently.
So give me faith like Daniel in the lion’s den Give me hope like Moses in the wilderness Give me a heart like David, Lord be my defense So I can face my giants with confidence
I see the EQG version of Cheerile in a classroom as I walk while looking for Sunset and Fluttershy, as that's my main goal.
You took a shepherd boy. And made him a King So I’m gonna trust you and give you everything
I’ll be a conquerer 'Cause you fight for me. I’ll be a champion claiming your victory
I see the Cutie Mark Crusaders, or Canterlot Movie Club, as I walk aimlessly through the halls. Or rather, they try to go through the halls on Scootaloo's scooter and nearly run over me. I don't let it faze me though and I continue on.
So give me faith like Daniel in the lion’s den. Give me hope like Moses in the wilderness. Give me a heart like David, Lord be my defense So I can face my giants with Confidence
I march through the halls as I sing inwardly,
I'm gonna sing and shout and shake the walls. I won’t stop until I see 'em fall. Gonna stand up, step out when you call. Jesus, Jesus
I'm gonna sing and shout and shake the walls. I won’t stop until I see 'em fall. Gonna stand up, step out when you call. Jesus
I stand still for a minute as I sing the last chorus inwardly.
So give me faith like Daniel in the lion’s den. Give me hope like Moses in the wilderness. Give me a heart like David, Lord be my defense So I can face my giants with Confidence, yeah
Give me faith like Daniel in the lion’s den. Give me hope like Moses in the wilderness. Give me a heart like David, Lord be my defense So I can face my giants with Confidence,
I'll face my giants with confidence
You know, I just realized something. The song I sang inwardly is definitely true for me here and now. I need to rely on God and trust that he'll help me face these giants.
I will face my giants with Confidence.

And let's give a nice warm welcome to the inevitable haters. I fully expect more downvotes than upvotes. For no other reason than that I'm a Christian and my OC's are often Christians as well. And yes, I know Confidence came out this year, not 2018. I just wanted to incorporate it. Cookies for anyone who can guess who the song confidence is by.
"I'm sorry, I just saw it and I thought I should give it to her. I didn't know you had dropped it." I hear EQG Fluttershy say. Even though I've seen this movie at least one hundred times, hearing her so scared and defenceless fills me with what my mom calls righteous anger.
I start to clench my teeth to try to calm myself, though it gets harder when I hear Sunset say, "Well, I did, and I was just about to grab it. You shouldn't grab stuff that doesn't belong to you."
"It doesn't really belong to you either." Wow. This Fluttershy is sassy, for her anyway. Hey, cut me some slack, I haven't seen the movie since it got taken off of Netflix. Some things are bound to slip through the cracks in my memory.
"EXCUSE ME!?" Sunset yells aggressively.
"Nothing." Fluttershy whimpers.
"That's right. It's as good as mine and you know it. You're pathetic. No wonder your only friends are stray animals."
Okay, that's it. I'm not backing down. I played it safe. But now things have changed. I'm not going to stay silent this time. "HOW DARE YOU SPEAK TO HER THAT WAY!" I shout.
"What did you say!?" Sunset asks shocked, likely that someone would be bold enough to stand up to her.
"You heard me. I said how dare you speak to her that way."
Her shocked look fades and turns into a smirk. "You must be..."
"New here?" I say cutting her off and grabbing her hand, "Why yes. Yes I am." I say with my own smirk, which fades as I say, "But I do know this. You can't do anything you want. Now look, I don't want to fight you. But I will if you don't leave this young lady alone. Your choice, either leave this hallway now, or put up your dukes." I say putting up mine to show I mean business.
"Y-y-you'll regret this. I'll get back at you. " She says sputtering. And then runs away with her proverbial tail between her legs. It's all I can do to not shout 'don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya' as she runs.
"I can't believe you did that." Fluttershy says shocked.
"Well, what was I supposed to do? Sit idly by and do nothing?" I say somewhat joking.
"It's just, nobody stands up to Sunset Shimmer."
"Why?" I ask, already knowing why.
"She's the meanest person in school. I don't think I've seen you around before. Did you just transfer to Canterlot High from another school?"
"Yes. I just transferred from LFG Academy, it's a private school. My name is Ka- Twilight Sparkle. What's yours?" I say, hoping she doesn't notice my fluke.
"It's Fluttershy."
"Fluttershy. That's a beautiful name. Would you like to meet my dog?" I say grabbing my backpack.
"You have a dog?" She says with a surprised expression on her face.
"Yes his name is Spike."
"Oh he's darling. Don't you wish you could know what he's thinking?"
"Yeah. Just out of curiosity, you were talking about something being dropped. It wasn't a crown, was it?"
"Yes. How did you know?"
"Lucky guess. You said you gave it to someone. Who was that? And how did you find the crown? Please answer the second question first."
"Well, I was handing out flyers for the animal shelter like I do every Wednesday."
"Cool. Do you have one of them? I'd love to take a look."
"Um, sure. Here." Fluttershy says as she hands one to me.
"I'll definitely volunteer soon." If I'm still here. I add silently. "Sorry for interrupting you. Please continue."
"Then I felt the crown hit my head. I had no idea how it got there. So I gave it to Principal Celestia."
"Hmm. Interesting. Do you know where I can find her?"
"She's usually in her office."
"Could you point me in the right direction?"
"Third door on your left down that hallway." Fluttershy says pointing.
"Thank you so much. I'll see you around. Spike. Get in." I say while pointing to the backpack.
He whines while looking at me with puppy eyes. I narrow my eyes in return and he growls, but gets in.
The bell then rings and Fluttershy says, "Oops, I'm late for class. Bye."
After walking to the door of Celestia's office, I knock.
"Come in." I hear her say less than thrilled.
So I walk in like a normal person would.
"How may I help you." Again, gotta love her attitude.
"I'm a new transfer. And I was wondering if Fluttershy had given you a crown?"
"Why yes, Yes she did. I gave it to Vice Principal Luna for safekeeping. No idea how it ended up on the front lawn. Would you be interested in running for Fall Formal Princess Miss...?"
"Oh, my name is Ka- Twilight. Twilight Sparkle." I say. Wishing I could stop referring to myself as Katrina. How come I could get it right with Flash, but I can't seem to do it with anyone else. "Fall Formal? What's that?"
"It's Canterlot High's big fall dance." Again, I can't stress this enough. She reminds me of Roberta. She was the lady who "helped" me get my learners permit, helped being a loose term. She acted like I was a nuisance and she would rather be anywhere else.
"Cool. How do I sign up?"
"Just tell the head of the Fall Formal planning committee that you want to be on the ballot."
"Thank you."
"If you need anything else, my door is always open." She says before slamming the door. Yeah, I really think you're going to have my back.
"Twilight, Why didn't you say that the crown was yours and ask for it back?" Spike asks.
"Well, when we first came here I was planning to. But what if someone from here ended up in Equestria and said they were from a human world? We'd think they were crazy." Says the human girl who's starting to worry about how long she can keep up this charade. Especially with Spike living with me.
"Eh, touche."
"If I want to get my crown back I'll have to beat Sunset at her own game."
"And how are you going to do that?"
"I have no idea!"

Chapter number two is out! My longest one yet! Wa-Hoo! Hope you enjoy. Two cookies and a chance for your OC to make a cameo in this story if you can find the song and TV show references. Both the TV and the song references are in Katrina's volcanic eruption.
I Will Stand My Ground...
For whom the lunch bell tolls. Seriously, I am personally starving and am going to lunch. I look around the cafeteria for Fluttershy and I spy her at the end of the lunch line. I walk over to her and say, "Hi Fluttershy."
"Oh. Hi Twilight. Would you like to sit with me?"
That's kinda odd. Fluttershy's face lit up when she saw me and she invited me to sit with her, that seems kinda out of character for her.
"Um, sure." We go through the lunch line and I choose a hot dog, water, and fruit salad. And then I spring the news on her. "Hey Fluttershy, I've decided to run for princess of the Fall Formal and-" she gasps and fumbles with her fruit salad, spilling it on me.
"Oh, I'm so sorry, it's just running for Fall Formal Princess is a really bad idea." She says while cleaning my shirt/skirt combo.
"Why?"
"Sunset Shimmer wants to be Fall Formal Princess, and when she wants something, she gets it. Just ask the girl who ran against her for the Spring Fling."
"Well, I still want to run." I say confidently.
"Well you'd have to convince everyone here to vote for you. The athletes, the fashionistas, the dramas, the eco-kids, the techies, the rockers..."
"Why is everyone separated this way?" I cut in.
"I don't know how it was at LFD academy, but at Canterlot High everyone sticks to their own kind."
I think for a second if I should question this, but I decide against it. "It's LFG Academy actually. Well if that's what I have to do. So be it. By the way, do you know where could I find the head of the Fall Formal planning committee after lunch?"
"She should be in the gym." She says with the slightest hint of contempt in her voice. I, already knowing why it's there, choose to ignore it. I finish my lunch and say goodbye to Fluttershy and start walking towards the gym.
I walk into the gym and spot Pinkie. I tap on her shoulder and say. "Um excuse me- Pinkie Pie?"
Pinkie then releases the air out of her balloon and grabs me by my shirt and pulls me closer than I'm comfortable with and squeals. "Are you Psychic!?"
Why Yes, my name is Shawn Spencer and this is my associate Ghee Buttersnaps. Sarcasm intended.
"No. I'm not. I would like to run for Fall Formal Princess and Fluttershy said this was where I'd find the head of the Fall Formal planning committee."
"Fluttershy, huh? Don't let the whole "shy" thing fool you. She can be a real meanie." She says with laced contempt and anger in her voice.
"You two aren't friends?" I say with some irony and sarcasm in my voice.
"Waited a bit to get your name on the ballot, huh? Dance is day after tomorrow." She says changing the subject.
"I'm brand new here. Just transferred from LFG Academy."
"Oooh! I thought you didn't look familiar. Though, now that I'm really lookin' at you..." She says grabbing me and spinning me like a rag doll, "Do you have a twin sister who lives in the city, has a pet dog named Spike that looks just like that one?"
"Uh, maybe?" I say trying to get my bearings.
"Thought so. Anyhoo, just need to fill this out and you are officially up for the coveted Princess of the Fall Formal crown."
"Thanks." Let's see. Kat- Crap. Now I've got to scribble that part out. Twilight Sparkle. There. I'm done. "Here you go."
"Thanks. Now you're signed up for Fall Formal Princess."
"Great. Thanks."
"Somebody order a dozen cases of fizzy apple cider?" A familiar voice says. The familiar voice is Applejack.
"Oh! Oh! Me, me-me-me, me, yeah ha-ha me!" Pinkie says like there's a cider shortage.
"Can you bring in the rest?" AJ asks her brother.
"Eeyup." He says in reply.
Applejack then turns to me and says, "Hey, I know you."
"You do?" I ask, wondering what she will say.
"'Course I do. You're the girl who put Sunset Shimmer in her place and then some." She says while opening a bottle of apple cider.
"Well I don't know about that." I say while blushing.
"Twilight Sparkle here is gonna run against Sunset Shimmer for Princess of the Fall Formal." Pinkie Pie interjects.
Applejack spits out the apple cider she had been drinking and coughs.
"Are you ok?" I ask.
"I'll be fine. But I'm not so sure about you."
"What are you talking about?" I ask even though I already know.
"I'm just sayin' I'd think twice about that. Oh, sure, she'll probably approach you all friendly like..." She then grabs two balloons, doodles crude likenesses of Sunset and Twi- I mean myself, and goes into an incredibly fake Sunset Shimmer voice saying "I sure am lookin' forward to some friendly competition." Then she mimics Twi- I mean me, (It's better than her imitation of Sunset, but she won't win an academy award,) saying, "That's so good to hear." Then continues normally, "But then, here comes the backstabbin'." She then pops the balloon that's apparently supposed to represent me. "About the only girl in this school you can trust less than Sunset Shimmer is Rainbow Dash." She finishes.
"Rainbow Dash? I feel like I've heard that name recently." I say casually fishing around.
"She's the captain of, like, every team at Canterlot High."
"Oh, I think I saw her name on a trophy or two."
"She's also the captain and champion of sayin' she's gonna do somethin' for ya, and then turnin' around and not even botherin' to show up." She says with unmistakable ire and anger in her voice.
"Thanks for the advice, Applejack, but this is something I really need to do." I say without realizing that I said her name... Until AJ says, "Huh, suit yourself. Hey, how'd you know my name is Applejack?"
Oh, come on. Can't I catch a break! I swear. I flunked at least four times in a row. "Um, I uh... Heard that that there were a family of farmers and that one of the girls was named Applejack." Yeah Katrina, she's really gonna buy that. "Well it was nice meeting you girls, I hope I'll see you around." I say while running out the door. I choose to just walk around until I find the half lit hallway.
"Can't believe I didn't recognize you earlier. Shoulda known Princess Celestia would send her prized pupil here after my crown, and her little dog, too." Sunset says while slowly leaving the shadows.
"Same here. Nice Wizard of Oz reference by the way. So, can we get on with the cliché villain monologue? I've got an appointment to keep." I say while looking at my nails like divas do.
"Whatever. This is just a minor setback for me. You don't know the first thing about this place, and I already rule it."
"I wouldn't be too certain about that. But if that's so, why would you even need my crown? If you were really as powerful as you say you wouldn't have any use for it." I say trying to get inside her head. And from the quiet growl I heard, I'm succeeding.
"Pop quiz: what happens when you bring an Element of Harmony into an alternate world?" She asks with a slight eye twitch.
"Hmm. Let me think." I say while tapping my chin with my finger. "I know! It reflects what is in your heart. So if you put it on your head it would, maybe transform you into a terrifying She-Daemon with seemingly limitless power with which you could create a teenage army with which to take over Equestria? Cut, print, check the gate. Moving on." I smirk and see how much that threw her off guard. Quite a bit if her gaping mouth is any indication. "And please close your mouth Sunset; we are not a codfish."
I walk out of the dark hallway and into the light. And just as I walk around the corner a young girl says to me, "Twilight, how do you know that's gonna happen?" Oh crap.

...Where Hope Can Be Found
"You ain't from around here, are you?" The young girl, who I recognize as Apple Bloom says while leaning against a locker.
"I don't know what you're talking about." I say a little too quickly. She's really throwing me into uncharted territory.
"Well, you were talkin' like ya knew what Sunset were about ta say. Care ta explain that?" She counters.
"Er, um. Lucky guess?" I say. Knowing it's a weak argument, if that.
"Ah don't think so. Y'all'll be celebratin' soon, but Sunset'll make ya look a right fool online this evenin', and then attempt ta kill ya with a fireball!" She says waving her hands for effect I'd guess.
Then something she said makes me think.
"Wait, how do you know that? And I doubt that she'll make me look quite that foolish." I say with bravado.
She stands up and winks at me, saying, "Ya ain't the only one who knows we're livin' in a movie. So what did he look like?"
I rub my chin and allow that to sink in. Then my eyes widen as I realize what she's insinuating. "What did who look like? You mean?..."
"Did ya go ta Bronycon, get sold somethin' by a creepy guy or gal and then turn inta whichever character ya were dressed as?" She says, which confirms my suspicions.
"No," I admit. "I was dressed as my OC, Misty Rose. But I did buy a Twilight crown and journal from a creepy dude. I hope Annabelle is ok. My 'real' name is Katrina Miller."
"Oh boy, this bit'll be really hard ta explain." She says with awkwardness in her voice.
"What do you mean? I mean, you're just like me. Right?" I say with confusion.
"Not really." She says hesitantly "It's a tad embarrasin' ta explain, Ah'll admit, but Ah weren't a girl before this mess happened."
It takes about thirty seconds before this sinks in. My eyes widen as the reality sinks in. "Um..."
Her, (or I guess technically his,) face is as red as her, (redundant,) namesake. "Pinkie promise y'all tell nobody else?"
Heat rushes into my face as well. "Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye." I say sincerely.
I hear her, (You know, I'm just gonna say her,) let out a breath she must have been holding. "Thanks. Ya said it were yer OC ya were dressed as, right? Why didn't ya become her?"
She does make a good point. "Your guess is as good as mine. Though I trust that God has a plan for this. '"For I know the plans I have for you," Declares the Lord. "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you a future full of hope."' Jeremiah 29:11." I say/quote.
"Somebody who knows there Bible backwards, huh? How many times are we told it is the 'Word a' God'?" She asks casually.
I think for a moment, "More times than I can count. But John 1:1-5 comes to mind. 'In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.' That's the New Living Translation, or NLT. So you're a Christian too?" I ask, truly curious to find out if she's more of an ally than I originally thought.
"Yup. What do ya expect when ya come from a Southern family?
Wait, what am Ah sayin'? This'll start happenin' ta you too! Y'all'll become just like the character you are!"
I bite my lip so hard I taste blood "I really hope not. But if it's God's will for me, so be it." I say with conviction.
"Sheesh. Next thin' ya know, ya'll be greetin' folks with 'everypony'. Anyways, take mah warnin'. Sunset's gonna try somethin' at the Fall Formal, so be prepared." She says, obviously trying to help.
"I know. I'll do my best to keep an eye on Spike. So, what was your name before all of this crazy stuff happened?" I ask truly curious.
"Tom Haddington. As ya probably picked up, Ah was a guy who liked Apple Bloom. Yer not the only one who left a siblin' behind." I will truly pray for her sibling she left behind.
"How do you know Annabelle is my sister? And what's your sibling's name?" I say before realizing that I let the cat out of the bag.
"Rebecca. Ah actually saw her after Ah... changed, and she... she thought Ah was just some mad cosplayer tryin' ta hit on her."
Oof, I wince at that. "Ouch. Thank God I passed out in the bathroom and woke up here." I say thanking God for his small mercies.
"Which way did it go? Older or younger?" Apple Bloom interjects.
It takes me a minute to understand what she's asking. "Actually I'm around the same age as Twilight seems to be. How about you?" I ask.
"Lost eight years, like in those weird age regression stories." She says.
It makes me think about how this can happen and I feel an insatiable desire to research it. "Hmm. Interesting. I'm going to research that once I get back to Equestria."
"See? You are talkin' like her!" She exclaims.
"But I..." I try to deny what's happening, yet I sigh in defeat. "You're right. Yet I can promise myself one thing. I will never forget God or what he's done for me." I say stomping my foot.
"Maybe this is all just fate after all. Ah kinda just bumbled from day ta day, but now Ah have somethin' ta really look ahead for.
Besides, Pip is pretty cute." She says while turning a light pink.
"I thought you were a guy. And I believe that God has a plan for us. Maybe we need to be here for 'such a time as this.'" I say, then I realize that what I said could be hurtful to her. So I quickly amend saying, "I'm sorry if that seemed rude. I just have a hard time dealing with homosexuality. God is working on me though."
"That's where it gets wierd! Ah was a guy and liked girls, but when Ah woke up from after bein' hit by a door, first thin' Ah knew Ah had the hots fer Pip! Probably because Ah'm female now.
Wait, did you switch genders?" She asks with a confused look on her face.
"No. I've been a female since God formed me in my mother's womb. I guess it would be odd since now you are genetically a girl if you liked girls. Again I'm sorry for the rude words." I apologize again.
"Eh, no worries. Have ya encountered anybody else like this? If there's at least two, there may be more out there!" She says with hope written on her face.
"No." I say regretfully "Otherwise I would of played my hand a little more subtly. But that's not to say that there aren't any others." I say trying to reassure her.
"Ah well. If we're the only ones here, at least we ain't goin' through it alone." She says with a slight smile on her face.
"Amen sister. Or is it brother? Um, could you do me a favor?" I say as an idea 'sparkles' in my head.
"Probably sister right now. What da y'all need doin'?" She asks curiously.
"So, you know when Sunset puts on the crown in the movie and gets turned into a terrifying She-Daemon? Do you think you and your friends could help me?" I ask.
"What do ya need? Ah'm all ears." She says sincerely.
"So here's what I'm thinking..."
After talking strategy with AB, I realize I have no idea where the library is. So I decide to ask AB. "Hey, would you show me how to get to the library?"
"Sure thin', follow me!" She says while motioning for me to follow her.
"Thank you. Hey, did you have to fly in for Brony-Con?" I ask out of curiosity.
"Yup. Flight was kinda lon' too." She says while stretching a bit. I understand, I hated flying to Brony-Con.
"What part of America did you fly in from? I flew in from Topeka, Kansas." I ask, trying to get to know her.
"Ah weren't American. Ah flew in from London." She says politely.
Oops. I really put my foot in my mouth. "Oh, cool." I say with excitement in my voice. I've always wanted to meet someone from the UK. "What denomination are you? I'm protestant, though I attend a non-denominational church."
"Mah original pa was a Methodist, and Ah suppose Ah am too." She answers.
I decide against voicing my opinion on that, So I say "Hmm. Interesting. So, how long have you been a Brony?"
"Since it began. Ah were babysittin' Rebecca, and she wanted ta watch it as a good show," She says while making air quotes. "Ah thought it'd be awful!"
"Don't most Bronies?" I ask in a teasing tone.
"Touche. If ya told me that Ah'd like a show about pastel coloured ponies, Ah'd have called ya crazy!" She says smiling.
"Yeah, I hear you. My friend Mark, likes MLP, that's how we became friends. But I've watched every generation of MLP. Believe it or not." I reply. Remembering watching them fills me with nostalgia.
"Phewee! Ah weren't even alive when it started!" She says in shock I'd guess.
"Me either. But my mom was. And she introduced me to the first generations."
"That's better than mine. They mocked me over it and loudly told relatives once."
I feel my eyes widen in shock that family would do that. "Oh my. That had to hurt." My heart hurts for her.
"They eventually stopped, but Ma- Mom made a joke out of it a few days before Ah left fer Baltimore." Her eyes fill up with tears as she finishes, "And Ah never had a chance ta say goodbye!"
"Neither did I." I say fighting sobs. "I miss my father and mother and my siblings." I say before completely breaking into uncontrollable sobs.
I feel her arm wrap around me as she tries to comfort me. "Hey, Ah'm certain we'll find a way back someday."
I sniff and wipe my eyes and say, "I hope so. Thank you."
"No problem. Ah know what yer goin' through." She says wiping her own eyes.
"I'm glad for that." I say with a grateful smile, then I say to defuse any new tears, "Just so you know, I took a typing class last school year, So I won't have the whole fists on the keyboard thing." I smile.
"Thank heavens. But Sunset's real good at video editin'." She peeks through the library door and says, "Sorry, mah friends are in there. Mind if Ah join 'em?"
"No. And AB." I say mysteriously.
"Erm, yes?" She says with confusion.
"Remember to wait to sing along with the chorus after I come out." I say as I walk through the door and to the computer. I obviously don't need to use it as I know exactly what I need, but I choose to see if they have any info on Sunset, I mean, we know very little about her before Rainbow Rocks. I find a "My Stable" profile, whatever the heck that is, on her. I browse around for a good fifteen minutes, tuning out everything else. Shortly after I look for the Yearbook and I let Spike out of my backpack. I don't grab a ton of books and I don't go near the copier, so I'm not sure what, if anything, Sunset will have on me. I did trip a couple times, even though I was quite dexterous on my feet before I came here, (I was even a ballerina,) so I don't know what happened, I have no logical explanation for this, and that bugs me more than I'd care to admit.
Anyhoo, hours pass and the school closes. and I go looking for the roof exit after I see that Spike is sleeping. I find it, and walk outside. I take a deep breath, and I exhale slow. I allow myself to think about what a, (seemingly,) mess today has been. I think about my mom Beth, my dad Steve and my siblings Annabelle, Abby, and Charlie. Me and Annabelle used to go by Katy and Annie so all of us Miller kids had a eee sound at the end of our names. I miss them so much. I feel tears run down my cheeks as I begin to sing.
"I have to find a way,
To make it home ok,
I can't believe this one small thing,
Could of changed everything.
Oh why,
Oh why,
Something is wrong, it's plain to see,
This isn't how it's meant to be,
Only one can see it how I can,
This was not part of my plan,
Oh why,
Oh why,
Losing family,
I don't know what to do,
Seeking answers,
I fear I won't get home, to you,
I'll try,
I'll try,
I'll try,
I'll try."
"This all leaves me to wonder,
Can hope be found here?"

Trust, Smear Campaigns, And Other Unrelated Things
Author's Note
So, this chapter was hard for me to write. I know it doesn't seem that way, since this is the longest chapter I've written, but it was hard. I am often times in the same spot as Katrina was in the beginning of this chapter. I can't tell you how many times I've prayed almost the exact same prayer and how many times I've doubted God, when he was the one who saved me from hell. It's a sobering reminder of how human I am. I congratulate Thunderous for winning the cameo challenge. I hope you enjoy.
Trust, Smear Campaigns, And Other Unrelated Things
I sit down on the roof of the school, allowing myself to have a good cry. "Why did this happen? Why can't I make sense of all this?" I say aloud after my tears have been spent. "Why why WHY?!" I shout in fury and confusion. Even though I can hardly see through my frustration, a song comes to my mind. I begin to sing it softly.
"Walking around these walls,
I thought by now they'd fall,
But You have never failed me yet,
Waiting for change to come,
Knowing the battle's won,
For You have never failed me yet,"
I look up at the sky and behold the handiwork of God. Which reminds me of the truth of the song I'm singing.
"Your promise still stands,
Great is your faithfulness,
faithfulness,
I'm still in Your hands,
This is my confidence,
You've never failed me yet,"
I stand up and sing louder.
"I know the night won't last,
Your Word will come to pass,
My heart will sing Your praise again,
Jesus, You're still enough,
Keep me within Your love,
My heart will sing Your praise again,"
A smile starts to stretch across my face,
"Your promise still stands,
Great is your faithfulness,
Faithfulness,
I'm still in Your hands,
This is my confidence,
You've never failed me yet"
I march to the edge of the roof and start singing at the top of my lungs,
"I've seen You move,
You move the mountains
And I believe,
I'll see you do it again,
You made a way,
Where there was no way,
And I believe,
I'll see you do it again,
I've seen You move,
You move the mountains
And I believe,
I'll see you do it again,
You made a way,
Where there was no way,
And I believe,
I'll see you do it again,
I've seen You move,
You move the mountains
And I believe,
I'll see you do it again,
You made a way,
Where there was no way,
And I believe,
I'll see you do it again,
I'll see you do it again!
Oh-Oh!"
I feel a peace completely surround me, lifting my soul to heights I had never known of.
"Your promise still stands,
Great is your faithfulness,
Faithfulness,
I'm still in Your hands,
This is my confidence,
You've never failed,
Your promise still stands,
Great is your faithfulness,
Faithfulness,
I'm still in Your hands,
This is my confidence,
You've never failed me yet,
I never will forget,
You've never failed me yet,
And I never will forget."
I close my eyes and pray aloud. "Lord, I don't know why I'm here or what I'm supposed to do. But I know that you have a plan for me and, even though it's hard, I will put my trust in you, even if it's a little overdue. I know I'll doubt and ask why again, but I ask you to help me through this. Please be with my parents and siblings, and the real Twilight, wherever she is. Thank you for saving my life not just once, but twice. I ask all of this in Your son's holy name, Amen."
I open my eyes and look up at the sky, happy to be a child of the king. When all of a sudden I hear Spike say, "Twilight? Are you alright?"
I smile and say, "Yes Spike. Are you okay?"
"I don't think you are okay Twilight. You've been acting really strange all day. You didn't freak out when we arrived, and you acted like you knew where we are, you directly challenged Sunset Shimmer, and you managed to shock her enough to allow us to get away. That's not the Twilight I know. So who are you and what have you done with the real Twilight? And don't even try to deny it, I heard you talk to nobody and say that you wanted Twilight to be safe. So who are you?"
I sigh and brace myself. "You're right Spike. I'm not the Twilight you know."
"I knew it!" He says proudly. "But if you're not Twilight, who are you?"
"I've had many names. Katy, Princess, Kiddo, child of God, but the name I was given at birth is Katrina Miller. I went to a convention and bought a couple items which turned me into Twilight. And I can only assume that Twilight is now me. I know it's hard to understand, but I just ask that you trust me." I say hoping that he'll believe me.
"That... explains a lot. So, can you go back?" He says with childlike innocence.
"I'm afraid not. I have no idea how I got here, So I couldn't figure out how to get back." I say while petting him and rubbing his belly.
"Well," he says with his tongue lolling out, "I'm sorry that you can't get back, but you're not half bad. You know, for an alien."
I giggle at that. "Thanks Spike. But you can't tell our friends that I'm not the Twilight they know. Okay?"
"Why?" He says cocking his head.
"So, I'm a new Princess. Right?"
"Right."
"So how do you think Celestia, Luna, Cadance, their guards, and our friends would react if they knew I was an unwilling, but technical, imposter?"
"I see your point. I'll keep quiet." He says.
"Pinkie Promise?" I ask dubiously.
"Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye. Wait. How do you know about Pinkie promises?"
"Uh, here's the other thing. Promise not to tell anyone?"
"Ookay?"
"Back where I come from, this whole place, and our world, is a show."
"Ookay."
"So the good news is I know what's going to happen, until season nine. So we can rest easy."
"Intresting. Hey, did you find anything that will help us?"
"Yes, but let's go on inside. It's chilly out here."
As soon as we're inside the library, I show Spike the Yearbook and the picture of the EQG versions of our friends. He drools over the picture of Rarity and says, "Those girls have an look a lot like our friends, yet if Fluttershy, Pinkie and Applejack are any proof they definitely aren't."
"True dat. But I just know that Sunset had something to do with them not being friends anymore."
"You're probably right." Spike says with a yawn. "But we need to get some sleep if we're going to be trying to get them back together in the morning."
"You're right. Let's go sleep." I say with my own yawn. "Would you show me where you were planning on doing so?"
"Sure. Follow me."
He leads me to the book palet and curls up and says "Goodlight Twinight."
I laugh softly and say in response, "Goodnight Spike." As soon as I close my eyes I'm out like a light.
I open my eyes as soon as the morning light hits them. I wonder where I am until the events of yesterday rush back. I yawn and stretch and smile as I look at Spike still sleeping. I tiptoe to a nearby table where I left my backpack and pull out my Bible. I open it to where I had last been reading the other day. "Psalm 23." I say aloud. It was the first psalm I memorized. I begin to read it silently until I come to verse 4 "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me." I read aloud. "Fear No Evil. That's interesting." I think about how I need not fear anything and yet another song comes to mind. Yet instead of singing it, I simply mull over it. One particular line of it sticks with me.
"'For there is nothing I can't face, when God is on my side.'" I mutter aloud.
I am struck by how applicable this is to me and resolve to live like that.
I hear a yawn and look over at Spike to see that he's awake. "Good morning Spike." I say happily.
Spike stretches like only a dog can and says through a yawn, "Morning Twi. Gah! Where are we?"
I sigh and say, "Remember Spike."
"Oh, yeah. Sorry Karina?"
" It's Katrina, and please call me Twilight, or at least Twi."
"Right. Sorry Kat- I mean Twi."
I sigh so loudly I look around for Twilight until I remember.
Spike giggles and says, "You even sigh like her," before collapsing into a fit of giggles.
I push my Bible into my backpack and twirl around and motion for Spike to get in.
"Ok, Ok, I get your point."
"It's friendship time." I say as I walk into the hall.
All of a sudden I see students poorly hiding giggles, and some laughing out loud.
The next thing I know I'm being yanked into a classroom and I see EQG Rarity trying to pull some sort of either dress or skirt/shirt combo out of her bag and pulling it over my clothes. I also feel a hat or wig on my head. "Perfect! Oh, yes. This is good! No one will recognize you!" She says excitedly.
"What the heck do you think you're doing?" I ask.
"And we'll need a disguise for your dog, which is too bad. He really is so adorable! Y'know, with a little work, I think I could make him look like a rabbit instead," she says apparently not hearing a thing of what I said.
"A rabbit?" I question.
Then Applejack, Fluttershy, and Pinkie burst into the room. Applejack scans the room and when her eyes rest on me she says, "There you are, Twilight."
"So much for the disguise." Rarity bemoans.
"I've been lookin' all over for ya!" Applejack says thankfully.
"Me too." Fluttershy says gratefully.
"Me three! I like your new look!" Pinkie says while looking at my outfit.
"I do have an eye for these sorts of things. Not that you seem to care." Rarity jabs.
"What?!" Pinkie shouts angrily.
"Why do you think she doesn't care?" I ask sincerely while pulling off the wig.
Applejack makes the universal stop sign as Fluttershy looks horrified and Pinkie looks like she's a little tea pot.
"Never mind. Why were you all looking for me? What's going on?" I ask before I remember Sunset's smear campaign.
"Oh, she hasn't seen it yet." Fluttershy says with worry in her voice.
"Seen what? Will somebody tell me what's going on?!" I nearly yell.
"Oh, it's really not that bad." Pinkie says as she laughs nervously. Yeah, that's real convincing Pinkie.
Watching the video in real life is sickening. My falls are slowed down and I look like a character in a horror movie. I feel like one too.
"I take that back. It's pretty bad!"
"How could she stoop so low? I'm new here, I've got nothing on her." I wonder.
"Not that it'll make any difference, but I'll still vote for you. You were so nice to stand up for me when Sunset Shimmer was picking on me yesterday," Fluttershy says.
"You would? Thank you."
"If ya still wanna run, maybe there's something I can do to help!" Pinkie offers.
"Word of advice? Don't accept her help. She doesn't take anything seriously!" Fluttershy says as crossly as she can.
"Ugh! Why do you have to be so awful to me?" Pinkie asks her with an emotion in her voice I can't quite place.
"Oh!" Rarity scoffs. "Don't play innocent, Pinkie Pie! You are no better than she is!"
"And what is that supposed to mean?!" Pinkie says angrily.
"I am happy to offer up my assistance as well." Rarity says, pointedly ignoring Pinkie's question. Then she looks at Pinkie as she says gibely, "To someone who would appreciate what I have to offer!"
They all begin to argue indistinctly until AJ cuts in, "Listen to y'all carryin' on! Get over it and move on!"
"You mean like how you've gotten over what happened with Rainbow Dash?" Rarity says snidely.
"She said she'd get the softball team to make an appearance at my bake sale. I tell everybody they're comin', and then not one of 'em shows up! She made a liar outta me! That's different!" She retaliates.
"Is not!" Pinkie and Rarity say in unison.
They argue indistinctly again until I remember the Yearbook I put in my backpack. "SHUT UP!" I yell. Which has the effect of me putting a gun up to their heads and telling them to, well, shut up. They all have looks of genuine fear on their faces. "Calm down, I just have something I need to show you and it's kinda hard when you guys are shouting over each other." I pull out the Yearbook and open it to the place I bookmarked earlier. "You were friends once. Right?"
Applejack sighs a sigh of happy recollection. "The Freshman Fair. Y'all remember?" She asks.
The other three smile and agree.
"I think something happened to your relationship, and I also think Sunset had something to do with it."
"Well, it's a nice theory, darling, and as much as I wish that were so, Sunset Shimmer had nothing to do with it."
"She's right. Sunset Shimmer isn't the one who ruined my silent auction for the animal shelter by bringing fireworks and noisemakers! It was supposed to be a serious event, and Pinkie Pie ruined it!" Fluttershy says with a mixture of anger and sadness in her voice.
"What are you talking about? I got a text from you saying that you didn't want a silent auction. You wanted a big party!" Pinkie says with genuine confusion.
"I never sent you a text!" Fluttershy says shocked.
"You didn't?" Pinkie says.
"You don't think she's the one who's been sending me those e-mails, do you? Every time I volunteer to help with the decorations at a school function, I get an e-mail from Pinkie Pie saying she has plenty of volunteers! And then I find out she's done everything herself." Rarity says with irritation laced in her voice.
"I never sent you any e-mails!" Pinkie says.
"Maybe Sunset's the reason Rainbow Dash didn't show up for my bake sale!" AJ realizes.
"Didn't you ever ask Rainbow Dash why she didn't show up?" I ask, knowing why.
She takes her hat off and fidgets with it, looking uncomfortable as she admits, "Heh, I guess I kinda stopped talkin' to her at all after that."
"Maybe it's time to start." I say, putting her hat back on her.
Author's Note
Hiya! So glad you're still reading this. Godslittleprincess's cameo is in this chapter by the way. Hope you enjoy.
Katrina Likes Coffee
"Ah can't believe I let somethin' as silly as mah pride get between me and Rainbow." AJ says regretfully.
"It's such a quick jump from hurt to mad isn't it? Then we do things we wish we hadn't." I say while giving her a side hug.
"Indeed." Rarity agrees.
"Where d' ya think Rainbow is?" Applejack asks her newly reunited friends.
"She should be on the soccer field," Fluttershy softly says after a short pause.
"Great! Let's go!" Pinkie shouts.
We walk through the halls towards the soccer field. We make it there just as Rainbow gets warmed up and Applejack walks over to her.
After they talk for about five minutes Rarity comments, "They're actually talking; that's a good sign!"
Then they hug and Pinkie squeals, "Hugs! Hugs are always good."
They walk over to us and AJ explains, "Somebody, and I think we can all guess who, told Rainbow Dash that my bake sale had been moved to a different day. Dash showed up with all the softball team and thought I'd cancelled on her! Ah guess you were right Twilight. Ah'm sorry."
"It takes a big po- I mean person to admit that. I forgive you." I say.
"So you're lookin' to dethrone Sunset Shimmer and become Princess of the Fall Formal, huh?" Rainbow asks.
"Yes." I reply.
"Gotta say, I'd really love to see that happen. I'll totally help you out! All you gotta do is beat me in a game of one-on-one." She says while bopping the ball on her head.
"Ok. First to five goals wins." I say.
"Firs- wait, what?!" She says so shocked that she drops the ball.
I use my feet to get the ball and kick it into the goal. "One-zip!" I yell.
As the game progresses the girls are gaping as I give Rainbow a run for her money. We end up tied at four-four and Rainbow is obviously mad and shocked. I use a trick I haven't used in years; I used to call it the Miller Mix up. It works as intended and I win. Rainbow is quite unhappy that I won and says in disbelief, "I-I lost."
"I can't believe it! You beat Rainbow!" Pinkie says.
"I must say, I didn't believe you could do it, but you did." Rarity says as if she's in a remarkable dream.
"Good game." I say, holding my hand out for Rainbow to shake.
"H-how did you manage to do that?!" Rainbow says breathlessly.
"Oh. I took ballet and I was the captain of my soccer team at my old school. I've got to say, you sure gave me a run for my money though." I say honestly.
"Well, If there were any doubt before, there sure is none now that you have the makings of a great Princess." Rainbow says.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"I wasn't gonna help just anybody try and beat Sunset Shimmer. The Fall Formal Princess, or any Princess for that matter, should be someone with heart, determination and good sportsmanship. You've proved that you've got 'em all!" She says proudly.
"Thank you all for supporting me." I say thankfully.
"Let's go get some coffee and treats from Sugarcube Corner, on me." Pinkie announces.
Everyone agrees and we walk over there. As soon as we get there Pinkie says that she works here and that we can get whatever we want. However, I choose to not take advantage of it and just order a small caramel frappé, (believe it or not a frappé is cheaper than a smoothie.) and a cheap sandwich. As I'm walking over to my newfound friends, I bump into Flash and spill my drink and drop my sandwich.
"I'm so sorry." I say.
"It's my fault. I'll pay for them." He offers.
"No need for that dearie." Mrs. Cake says. "We've got it."
While my drink and sandwich are being replaced, I try to apologize again. "I'm really sorry Flash."
"No, I should of been watching where I was going." He says looking at me kindly.
I tuck a piece of hair behind my ear and blush. "Here you two lovebirds are." Mrs. Cake says, bringing our drinks to us. That makes me blush harder and I see a faint trace of pink on Flash's cheeks.
"We're not-" He says as I look at him shyly.
"Thank you for offering to pay for my drink." I say.
"No problem." He says while unconsciously grabbing my hand. A tingly feeling rushes through me as our hands touch. We quickly pull them away as I say. "Well, I need to get back to my friends."
"I'll see you around." He says to me.
"Don't even think about it." Rarity warns as I sit down.
"What?" I ask, still in a daze from the brief touch.
"You're already trying to get her crown. Who knows what Sunset Shimmer would do if you ended up getting her ex-boyfriend too?" She says.
I sigh, "You're right. Let's stay focused."
"All right, girls. Dance is tomorrow night, and we still don't know how we're gonna get Twilight the votes she needs to be named princess. Right now, folks only know the Twilight from the videos Sunset Shimmer posted online. We need to help 'em see her differently." AJ reminds us.
Everyone murmurs agreements and silence reigns until Rarity shouts, "I'VE GOT IT!" Everyone looks over at us and her cheeks are a flaming red. She clears her throat and says quieter, "I mean, um, perhaps I have a solution. Now this may be an absolutely preposterous idea, but what if we all wore these as a sign of unity?" She says while holding up pony ears and tails.
"That sounds fun. Sorry for interrupting, please continue." I ask.
"I mean, the five of us are obviously very different, but deep down, we're all Canterlot Wondercolts! Sunset Shimmer is the one who divided us, Twilight Sparkle is the one who united us. And we're gonna let everyone know it! What do you think?" She finishes.
"I love it!" Pinkie shouts, rivaling Rarity's own.
"I've got a idea." Rainbow says.
"Do tell," Rarity says.
"So here's what I'm thinking. Let's wear these ears and tails and sweaters at lunch today and sing this song I wrote." Rainbow says, pulling out some sheet music and lyrics. We all look over them and they're pretty good, but I see that it's slightly different from the cafeteria song.
"I know we'll need to change it a bit, but I think it'll work." I comment. Everyone else agrees and we get to work. I sip my caramel frappe and revel in the taste of the coffee/caramel mixture. I suck it down so fast that Pinkie Pie asks if I got a brainfreeze. I giggle nervously and say no.
About fifteen minutes later we finish the changes to the song and our drinks. "Let's go to my boutique and change." Rarity offers.
"Ok." Fluttershy says softly.
We leave Sugarcube Corner and start walking to Rarity's. As soon as we arrive Rarity passes out the sweaters, ears, and tails and we pop into the dressing rooms and change. "These are great Rarity! I love them." I say admiring it in the mirror.
"I'm glad. Few people enjoy school spirit anymore. I haven't sold any sweaters, ears or tails in ages." She says with a wistful sigh.
"I don't know why, because these are sooo cool!" Pinkie says.
"Ah gotta admit these are real nice." Applejack compliments.
"They're really comfy." Fluttershy adds.
"Thank you girls. This means a lot." Rarity says.
"I'm sorry to interrupt, but we need to get back to school if we're going to pull this off." Rainbow Dash reminds.
My eyes widen as I say, "Right! Let's go."
We start walking to the school and on the way there I notice a young boy with orange-yellow skin and red-orange hair and eyes that look like copper pennies. He's doing street magic and it's pretty impressive for a boy of I'd guess eleven or twelve. I walk over to him and ask, "What's your name?"
"My name's Kit. Do you want to see a trick?"
"Yes. I would." I reply.
"But Twilight, we gotta go." Rainbow complains.
"'Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.' Let's treat them as such." I reply.
Kit does a very sophisticated card trick that I don't know the name of and wows the audience. I thank him for showing us and apologize that we can't stay for longer. We run the rest of the way back and make it with ten minutes to spare. Which gives us just enough time to choreograph most of the moves. We go over the plan one more time before lunch. "So here's the plan. You guys keep tapping out the beat until Spike plays the music, props to Fluttershy for getting him to touch the play button." I say.
"Oh, it was no trouble. He's a little sweetheart." She says gushing over him.
"And then you guys start singing and dancing and then I'll come out as soon as Fluttershy and Pinkie open the main doors and then we throw the ears and tails to the students. Everyone good?" I ask.
"I'm not. How come Twilight gets the longest solo?" Rainbow whines.
"'Cause she's the reason we're even here. And her solo is more her campaign than anythin' else." AJ reminds her.
"All right." She grumbles.
"We've got your back Twilight." Rarity says.
"Thank you all so much." I say while pulling them into a group hug.
We go our separate ways and I wait outside the doors.
At this point for all we know Twilight could be mooning Sunset Shimmer, and while I won't do that, I will sing the cafeteria song with them. Speaking of which, here we go.
"Hey, hey, everybody
We've got something to say
We may seem as different
As the night is from day
But you look a little deeper
And you will see
That I'm just like you
And you're just like me.
Yeah!
Hey, hey, everybody
We're here to shout
That the magic of friendship
Is what it's all about
Yeah,
We thought we were different
As the night is from the day
Until Twilight Sparkle
Helped us see another way
So get up get down
If you're gonna come around
We can work together
Helping Twilight win the crown
So get up get down
'Cause it's gonna make a sound
If we work together
Helping Twilight Sparkle
Win the crown!"
At this point I make my voice as high pitched as I can without sounding like I'm being horrifically murdered.
"Hey, hey hands up now,
We're sending a message
To the crowd
Hands wave up
Then come down
We party together
All around"
Now I try to make my voice sound like a high society socialite.
"Generous, honesty,"
Now I try a western accent, though I didn't need to make nearly as much effort when I was Katrina Miller instead of Katrina Sparkle. I chuckle at that.
"Laughter, kindness, loyalty,"
I try to make my voice as quiet and high as I can.
"Twilight helped us each to see,"
Then I just return my voice to normal as I sing the next part.
"All that we can be!
So get up get down
If you're gonna come around
We can work together
Helping Twilight win the crown
So get up get down
'Cause it's gonna make a sound
If we work together
Helping Twilight Sparkle
Win the crown!"
The doors open and I launch into Twi- I mean my solo.
"I'm gonna be myself
No matter what I do
And if we're different yeah
I want you to be true to you
If you follow me
We'll put our differences aside
We'll stick together and
Start working on that school pride!"
Everyone joins in as we sing and toss pony ears and tails out.
"Jump up make a sound (Hey!)
Stomp your hooves turn around
Start now, make a change,
Gonna come around
Jump up make a sound (Hey!)
Stomp your hooves turn around
Canterlot Wondercolts
Help her win the crown!
Jump up make a sound (Hey!)
Stomp your hooves turn around
Start now, make a change,
Gonna come around
Jump up make a sound (Hey!)
Stomp your hooves turn around
Canterlot Wondercolts
Help her win the crown!
Jump up make a sound (Hey!)
Stomp your hooves turn around
Start now, make a change,
Gonna come around
Jump up make a sound (Hey!)
Stomp your hooves turn around
Canterlot Wondercolts
Help her win the crown!"
As the song ends, the bell rings and we need to leave the cafeteria. Me and my new friends chat about the success of the song. "Doesn't everyone look just fabulous?" Rarity says excitedly.
"It was a great idea, Rarity! You too Rainbow!" I say.
Just then Sunset walks by with a smug look on her face and when she looks at me it's positively venomous.
"Don't know what she's smilin' about. Twilight's the one that's gonna be Princess of the Fall Formal." AJ remarks.
She knocks on Vice Principal Luna's office door and says in a saccharine sweet voice that sounds oddly cold, "Vice Principal Luna! Something terrible has happened!"
The next thing I know I'm being dragged, (no that's not an exaggeration,) I am being dragged, to Vice-Principal Luna's office. "What the heck! Why am I here?" I say while rubbing my arm that has nail indentations in it.
"You trashed the gymnasium did you not? I've got photographic evidence."
I look at the pictures and see that they're time stamped. "I didn't do this. I was at Sugarcube Corner during this."
"Yet this is clearly you in the photographs, is it not?"
Just then Flash bursts in and interjects, "Vice Principal Luna. I found these in a trash can in the library. Thought you should see them. Someone obviously combined these photos to make it look like Twilight was the one who trashed the gym." He says while showing how someone could do this.
She studies the evidence for what seems like an eternity and then finally admits. "I appreciate you bringing these to my attention, Flash. In light of this new evidence, you may of course continue your bid to be crowned the Princess of the Fall Formal."
I hope so. I think. However I say aloud, "Thank you Vice-Principal Luna."
Me and Flash step out into the hallway and I say, "Thank you so much for clearing my name."
"Anytime. I mean, what was I gonna do? Not prove your innocence? Wouldn't be much of a Canterlot Wondercolt, would I?"
I giggle at that. Then Vice-Principal Luna comes out and says, "I am afraid enough damage has been done to the gym that we will have to postpone the dance until tomorrow night. If you will excuse me, I need to let my sister know about this latest development."
Flash looks over at me, obviously contemplating something, then he says, "So, uh, I was wondering. If you aren't already going with somebody, wanna go to the Fall Formal with me tomorrow night?"
"That would be wonderful. I'll meet you there at eight?" I ask with a smile even as a dilemma crosses my mind.
"Great!" He says eagerly.
"See you then." I reply.
As soon as we part ways I start walking to Rarity's boutique. What am I going to do? Do I tell the girls? Or do I allow them to think something that isn't true?
"What do I do?" I ask aloud. This is along the lines of the worst dilemma I've ever had. I sigh and bite my nails. I know it's a bad habit, but I can't seem to break it. Especially when I'm nervous or scared.
I lift my eyes to the heavens and pray aloud, "God, I need your guidance. I'm scared and I don't know what to do. I know that honesty is the best policy, but I'm so scared, I had next to no friends back home and those I have had were 'fair weather friends.' It led me to make bad decisions and nearly cost me my life." I relive those moments and I cry about how I chose to live and how close I came to death. "I don't know if these friends are going to be the same way. I need you now. Help me in my decisions. I pray again for my family and Twilight. In your holy name, amen."
I take a deep breath and run into a dressing room in Rarity's boutique.
"Are you alright Darling?" I hear Rarity ask.
"I'm... Ok. I'll be out in a minute." I say hesitantly.
I let Spike out and say, "What should I do Spike? I know what Twilight would do, but that would be lying for me."
Spike thinks for a minute then says, "What does that book of yours say?"
I am taken aback for a minute, then I say, "'And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.'" In that moment it becomes clear what I am supposed to do. I change my shirt back to the one I was wearing when I arrived here and take a deep breath and walk out of the dressing room.
"Guys, I have to tell you something." I say.
"What is it sugarcube?" AJ asks.
"You can tell us." Fluttershy adds.
"Well, I'm-"
Pinkie then cuts me off and says, "You're from an alternate world and you're a pony princess there and the crown actually has a magical element embedded in it that helps power up other magical elements, and without it, they don't work anymore, and you need them to help protect your magical world, and if you don't get the crown tonight, you'll be stuck in this world and you won't be able to get back for, like, a really, really long time!" Then she makes a squeaking noise.
"Well, I guess that is kinda true now, but there are a few key differences. You see my name isn't Twilight Sparkle. It's Katrina Miller. I ended up here from a different world by buying a replica of a crown from a TV show I watched. I transformed into Twilight and now I am from an alternate world and I'm now trying to figure out how to make this work." I take a deep breath and bite my lip, expecting someone to say that my experience is made up.
"I believe her." Fluttershy says breaking the silence.
Everyone looks at her completely shocked.
"I uh, was curious about that school you mentioned so I looked it up and I couldn't find it anywhere. Not even a foreign school. So that is a likely explanation."
"Ah believe her too." AJ adds.
Soon all the girls are asking me about my adventure. I raise my voice above the rest of them and say, "I'd love to tell you all more but, well, the part about the crown is true. And Snips and Snails trashed the gymnasium, and the Fall Formal has to happen tonight. Will you all help me?"
"Of course Katrina." Pinkie says.
"Yea Friendship!" Spike shouts.
Everyone looks at Spike and says in unison, "Did he just speak?!"
"Yes, Spike here is a ferocious fire breathing Dragon in Equestria. So he can speak." I say nonchalantly.
"Okay." Rainbow says.
We walk together towards the school, stopping for Pinkie to grab some more party supplies. As soon as we arrive, the Humane Five gape at the damage.
"They sure did a number on this." Rainbow quips.
"I know it's a lot to do, and it seems impossible, but 'We can do all things through Christ who gives us strength.' Maybe if we work together we can do this."
"Let's do this thing!" Pinkie shouts.
Instead of singing silently, I sing loudly as we clean,
"It's time for us to come together
It's the only way that things will get better It's time for us to take a stand
So come on and lend a helping hand."
The rest of the girls join in and sing,
"Fix it up
Yeah, it's all right
We'll get it ready by tonight
Mix it up
Yeah, help a friend
We'll come together in the end."
Pinkie and Rainbow sing the next part,
"It's time to show that we've got school spirit
Raise your voice and let everyone hear it"
Then Rarity and AJ sing,
"It's time to show that we're strong
So come on, everybody, sing along."
During this, others come in and start helping.
The others sing backup while me and the Humane Five sing the main part.
"Look how we've all come together
Things are only just starting to get better
Look how we've all come together
Things are only gonna get better, better, better, better!
Fix it up, yeah, it's all right
We'll get it ready by tonight
Mix it up, yeah, help a friend
We'll come together in the end
Fix it up, yeah, it's all right
We'll get it ready by tonight
Mix it up, yeah, help a friend
We'll come together, together now!"
"This... looks... sooooo... GOOD!" Pinkie says excitedly.
"You said it!" I say with a chuckle.
Celestia steps out and claps and announces, "All right, everyone! Fall Formal is back on for this evening." A cheer goes up around the gym. "So you'd better get out of here and start getting ready. Oh, and don't forget to cast your ballots for the Fall Formal Princess on your way out." She finishes.
A boy with magenta eyes, dark gray skin, and blue hair who was wearing a football uniform said, "You got my vote, Twilight."
Others agreed and we cast our votes.
As me and my friends walked towards the boutique I decided to clarify something. "I know that I told you all that my name is Katrina, but I'd appreciate it if you'd call me Twilight."
"Why would you prefer that?" Rarity asks, "It's a simply devine name."
"Because I need to get used to answering to Twilight, I mean, What would you think if one of you had trouble answering to your own name?" I explain.
"You're right Twilight. I'd think it's odd if mah sister had trouble with that all the time."
I giggle at the irony in that and thank them.
We arrive at the boutique and Fluttershy, who had been very quiet during the walk over, exclaims, "I can't believe we pulled that off!"
"I can. 'Cause we're awesome!" Rainbow shouts.
"Enough chatter, girls. We need to get ready, and we need to look fabulous!" Rarity interjects
We get ready and I start to sing inwardly.
What are the chances
That we'd be here today
Different girls from different worlds
Tryin' to find our own way
Now we're the perfect team
Sharing the same dream
All for one, who knew
Together we know what to do
Strong hearts, strong minds
Fighting for what's right every time
United, decided
We'll never be divided
All for one, one for all
We start by looking at dresses, I see the one Twilight wears at the Fall Formal, but if this outfit I'm wearing is too risqué for me, then this one is a heck no. I hide it so Rarity can't try to have me wear it.
Don't try to stop us
Or keep us down and out
The power of six, we're in this mix,
And now there is no doubt
Answering the call
Breaking down the wall
All for one, it's true
Together we know what to do
Strong hearts, strong minds
Fighting for what's right every time
United, decided
We'll never be divided
All for one, one for all
Pinkie styles her hair and finally decides to keep it normal.
We may look beautiful
We may be dutiful
But don't be fooled by our finesse (la, la, la, la)
We're here to save the day
Come on, let's show the way,
We're no damsels in distress
Don't mess with the dress
All for one, it's true,
Together we know what to do
Strong hearts, strong minds
Fighting for what's right every time
United, decided
We'll never be divided
All for one, one for all
Since Rarity couldn't find the dress I hid, my dress is different from the one in the movie, it's a high-low cut purple dress with pink stars on it. The shoes are purple high heels. "Wow, you look amazing Twilight." Fluttershy says in awe.
The others are in the same outfits as they were in the movie.
"I've got a limo for us!" Pinkie squeals.
"How did...?" Rainbow says shocked.
"Let's not question it. This is Pinkie after all." I remind her.
"Let's go have some good old fashioned fun." AJ says.
"Indeed." Rarity adds.
We step into the limo and just generally joke and talk.
"I love this dress Rarity. It's so beautiful." Fluttershy compliments.
"You get only the best from Rarity's boutique! I'm glad you like it." Rarity responds.
"This is a pretty sweet ride." Rainbow jokes, holding lollipops.
Pinkie giggles at that. "Great joke Rainbow. I missed this."
Everyone agrees.
"We're here." AJ remarks.
"And there's Flash. I wonder who he's looking for." Rarity says with a wink.
We step out of the limo, ready for the party.
Author's Note
I hope you enjoy this chapter. By the by Thunderous's cameo is in this chapter.
I step out of the limo, tell Spike to stay close, and walk over to Flash.
"What's a pretty lady such as yourself doing here without a date?" Flash teases.
"Well, I had a date, but he stood me up. I don't suppose you'd like to join me?" I say coyly.
"I'd love to." He replies, offering his arm to me.
I giggle as I take it and we walk in. I'm blown away by how amazing the gym looks with the disco ball lit up. I decide to enjoy myself until I have to pray that I represent the element of magic to ignite the power of friendship. Yeah, no pressure.
"Well, may I have the honor of the first dance?" Flash asks, fortunately interrupting my thoughts.
"Of course I would." I reply while taking his hand, feeling that same tingly feeling I felt earlier, except this time we don't pull away.
Fortunately this song is a swing dance, in which I am well versed. "Where did you live, before moving here?" Flash asks.
"Um, I lived in... Ponyville!" I say quickly.
"Oh. What's it like?" He asks with genuine curiosity.
"Um, it's a nice, quaint little town. Plenty of ponies there." I say with a smile.
He laughs and says, "I'm sure."
"Did you grow up here?" I ask on impulse.
"Why yes, I did. I've made some good friends here."
"So have I. What do you plan to be? After college I mean." I ask shyly.
"I plan to be a police officer. I've loved protecting innocent people. I'd prefer to be a royal guard though. How about you?" He replies.
"I'm not sure. I'd like to be a screenwriter, but circumstances may prevent me from doing so." I explain.
"What kind of circumstances?" He probes.
"Um, my... Family! Wants me to be a... Doctor! And I don't want to let them down." I say, not really lying since my parents wanted me to be a Doctor.
"Well, you're almost a adult. You can make your own choices." He says, almost triumphantly.
"True, but I'd like to honor my parents. But I will talk to them, with respect of course." I say gently.
Then the song ends and a girl asks Flash to dance. He accepts reluctantly and I go put a request in at the DJ booth and then go hang with my friends. We take photos, I watch a dance off between AJ, RD, Scoots and AB. I wink at AB. But she doesn't see me. I sigh and look around for Flash, who's talking with some of his buddies. I sigh again.
"What's up with you? That's like, the third time you've sighed." Rainbow asks.
I put on a smile and say, "I'm fine. Just thinking."
"About what?" Pinkie interjects.
"Um, Sunset. I haven't seen her here."
"Hmmm. Neither have Ah." AJ remarks.
"She's probably too scared to show her face. She has to know you won by a landslide." Rainbow says cockily.
"Maybe. Let's dance." I say.
We go on the dance floor and have fun. Until someone touches me from behind. I let out an ear piercing shriek. Or at least, it would be if it made it past my throat. I whirl around and see Flash. "Sorry if I startled you. I called your name a couple times, but you didn't respond. I was wondering if you'd like to dance?"
I start to say yes, but then Principal Roberta, I mean Celestia, interrupts saying, "First off, I wanna say how wonderful everything looks tonight. You all did a magnificent job pulling things together after the unfortunate events of earlier. And now, without further ado, I'd like to announce the winner of this year's Fall Formal crown. The Princess of this year's Fall Formal is..." She does a dramatic pause. "Twilight Sparkle!" She says loudly.
"Congratulations, Twilight." Flash says, giving me a hug. The girls congratulate me too as I walk to receive the Crown.
"Help girls!" Fluttershy yells softly.
"Fluttershy!" I shout, jumping off the stage and running outside.
"That's close enough!" Sunset says, holding a mallet right over Fluttershy's head.
"Are you that cruel?! Have you no value for human life?!" I shout.
"Oh, I wouldn't dream of it. I'm not a monster, Twilight. Let her go."
I'm literally seething with anger. "What do you want!" I growl.
"The crown Twilight. I want the Crown! You don't belong here. Give me the crown, and you can go back to Equestria tonight. Or keep it and never go home."
"You're right. I don't belong here. But I know you will destroy both my home and this world if I give you the crown. So my answer is... No!"
"Fine. You win." She relents.
"You did that, knowing you may not make it home? I don't know if I could do that." Rarity says with amazement and astonishment in her voice.
"You all are more important than me getting home." I say.
"No wonder you're a real princess." Fluttershy adds.
I look over at Sunset just as she yells, "Oh, yes, she's so very special!" She leaps at me and knocks the crown off my head. I try to grab her foot and thus begins the hot potato game. It goes to Spike, then Rainbow, then Fluttershy, then AJ, then Rarity, then Snips, then Pinkie, and then back to me. I try to keep it away from Snips and Snails, but I loose my grip and Sunset grabs it saying, "I'll take that!"
I look on with horror as she puts it on her head. "More power, than I could ever imagine." The magical effect that has is much scarier than it I remembered in the movie. She turns into the She-Daemon and lets out a maniacal laugh. "I've had to jump through so many hoops tonight just to get my hands on this crown, and it really should have been mine all along." She says with a growl. Then she smiles maliciously. "But let's let bygones be bygones. I am your princess now, and you will be loyal... to me!"
She then turns Snips and Snails into daemons too and casts a mind control spell on most of the student body. Including Flash. "Round them up and bring them to the portal." She barks at her minions. "Spoiler alert: I was bluffing when I said I was going to destroy the portal. I don't want to rule this pathetic little high school; I want Equestria! And with my own little teenage army behind me, I am going to get it!"
"No! You won't!" I shout. My heart pounding in my throat.
"Oh, please! What exactly do you think you're going to do to stop me? I have magic, and you have nothing!" She says.
Fear is almost choking me. I'm so scared. A verse flits across my mind. "'For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.'" I whisper aloud.
"She has us!" Rainbow says at almost the same time.
She laughs as she says mockingly, "Gee, the gang really is all back together again. Now step aside! Twilight has tried to interfere with my plans one too many times already! She needs to DIE!" I inhale sharply as I remember mine and Apple Bloom's plan. A stone knocks my crown off of Sunset. Similar to how David knocks Goliath down in the Bible now that I think of it.
A pink glow covers me and my friends. Oops, I mean my friends and I. No I was right the first time. Well technically I was right both times. That was a call back to something I didn't even hear! "The magic contained in my Element was able to unite with those that helped create it!" I say triumphantly.
"Honesty!" I say as AJ 'ponies up.'
"Kindness!" I say as Flutters "ponies" up too.
"Laughter!" Pinkie does the same thing.
"Generosity!" You should see the pattern by now.
"Loyalty!" If you don't see the pattern you don't have the sense God gave you.
"Magic!" Now it feels weirder than heck to 'pony up;' my ears morph into my scull and reposition themselves on top and feel, oddly normal. My hair grows longer, but only in one place, yet it's not too weird. And wings pop out, near my shoulder blades. "Together with the crown, they create a power beyond almost anything you could imagine, but it is a power you don't have the ability to control! The crown may have been upon your head, Sunset Shimmer, but you cannot wield it, because you do not possess the most powerful magic of all: the magic of friendship!" I grab the hands of two girls, (I can't tell who they are,) and a Rainbow comes down and frees everyone from the dark magic. It doesn't create a chasm, however it doesn't restore the wall. "You will never rule in Equestria. Any power you may have had in this world is gone. Tonight, you've shown everyone who you really are. You've shown them what is in your heart. And now you have a choice. You can choose to run away, or you can take my hand and accept my forgiveness and friendship. It's up to you."
Her head perks up and she asks, "You'd forgive me? After what I did?"
"We all make mistakes sometimes. I do. And if God can forgive me, Well, I can certainly forgive others. No matter how far they fall."
"I believe this belongs to you." Celestia says, holding my crown. "A true princess in any world leads not by forcing others to bow before her, but by inspiring others to stand with her. We have all seen that you are capable of just that. I hope you see it too, Princess Twilight. And while I admire your forgiveness Twilight, she must be punished. She can repair the wall." Principal Celestia says. After she puts the crown on my head.
"I accept what you say and I bend to your authority."
"May I re-voice My question for the last dance?" Flash asks.
"I believe you did, and I accept, however, I Will help Sunset with as much of the wall as I can." I say.
A collective gasp goes up around the courtyard. "But Twilight, don't you remember what she did? She broke our friendship!" AJ asks.
"How did she do that?" I ask.
"She lied to Rainbow."
"I'm aware that she did that. However I fail to see how that broke your friendship." I respond.
"Bu- wi- huh?"
"All Sunset did was drive a wedge. Not break your friendship. In fact, let's remove her from the equation. Let's say for a minute that Sunset never left Equestria. Rainbow agreed to show up with the softball team. But the same day as your bake sale, her parents told her that they had volunteered themselves and her to set up for a party. She reluctantly agreed and went to change into a different outfit. While there she called her second in command and asked her to round up the softball team and go to your bake sale. By that time she didn't have enough time to contact you, So she figured she could explain later. Her second in command decided that it wasn't important to go to your bake sale. They don't show up so you send a scathing text to Rainbow and neither of you talk to each other again. Does that leave you as friends? Sunset didn't do anything. You see, either way there was a wedge. You both saw it. But neither of you tried to talk or fought for your friendship. You didn't love each other enough to do so."
"LOVE?! What in the Sam hill are you talking about!?" AJ yells.
"Love doesn't necessarily mean romance. There are many different types of love. Familial love, the love you have for your parents and siblings. Romantic love, this love is the most common love you'll hear about, it's the love you have for your spouse. Friendship love, it's the love you have for your friends, however you have to work at love. It's not something you feel, it's something you do. Why do you think there are so many divorces? Broken friendships? Dysfunctional families? It's because no one wants to work at it. Love isn't just a noun; it's a verb too. Neither Friendship nor Love is ever going to be easy. But there's no doubt they're worth fighting for. I'm willing to fight for our friendship. If you are Sunset."
"I am. Thank you." Sunset says with tears in her eyes.
"You're right Twilight. I'll help out too." AJ says.
"So will I." Flash says.
Everyone agrees and offers to help.
"Thank you all." I say.
We work hard and almost finish it. However a few things need to be special ordered and Celestia says that she'll have contractors put those in.
We walk into the gym and Flash takes my hand just as the song I requested comes on.
I'm wishing I could see the finish line
Where it ends, where it lands
Guess I lost my vision when the pain set in
I whirl around the dance floor in Flash's arms. "You're a wonderful dancer." I compliment.
Can I believe when I don't see?
Can I really let it be out of my hands?
When it's out of my hands
This isn't what I'd choose
But it's where I'm finding You
When I'm broken and undone
Your mercy's just begun
You overcome my doubt
Your hands are reaching out
You hold me through the storm
And I will fear no more
And I will fear no more
(And) I will fear no more
"So are you." He replies.
I can't look into the future but
I know where You have been
Before me, after, and always within
"I'm gonna miss you Flash." I say.
"I know, but you'll be back someday, Right?"
"I'll try." I reply honestly.
But can I believe when I don't see?
Can I really let it be out of my hands?
'Cause it's out of my hands, oh
This isn't what I'd choose
But it's where I'm finding You
When I'm broken and undone
Your mercy's just begun
You overcome my doubt
Your hands are reaching out
You hold me through the storm
And I will fear no more
And I will fear no more
(And I will fear no more)
"Thanks for helping me and Sunset fix the wall." I say.
I'm not giving up
I'm giving in
To what You've planned
For Your glory
Not giving up (I'm not giving up)
I'm giving in (I'm giving in)
To what You've planned
For Your glory
I'm not giving up, oh
It's for Your glory
"Of course. It's the least I could do."
This isn't what I'd choose
But it's where I'm finding You
When I'm broken and undone
Your mercy's just begun
You overcome my doubt
Your hands are reaching out
You hold me through the storm
And I will fear no more
And I will fear no more
(And) I will fear no more
(I will never give, I will never give in)
And I will fear no more
(I will never give, I will never give in)
I will fear no more
As I go to take a final picture with my friends, I got to thinking, You know, as much as this seems like a fairy tale ending, I know that my journey has just begun. I know I can place my trust in God.
I walk out to the portal, and I ask after a final group hug, "You'll look out for her, won't you?"
"Of course. She apologized, so I will." Rarity responds.
"Is it just because she apologized?" I ask.
"Well... No. Even if she hadn't, you're proof that you can forgive even if the other person doesn't apologize." She says confidently.
"I'll miss you all." I say.
They all agree and we share another group hug. Then I fly over to Flash and give him a hug. "I'll really miss you."
"So will I." He says, holding me close.
"Can I ask a favor?"
"Of course. What do you need?" He asks.
"Will you give this to Apple Bloom?" I ask, handing him an envelope.
"Sure, but why don't you give it to Applejack?" He asks.
"Trust me, I need you to deliver it." I reply.
"Ok." He says, taking it.
"Goodbye Flash. Or do you prefer Mr. Sentry?" I say jokingly.
He smirks as he says, "It's Flash. Goodbye Twilight. Or do you prefer Ms. Sparkle?"
"Definitely Twilight." I say with a twinkle in my eye. "Goodbye." I say while giving him a hug.
"Goodbye." Flash says as he lets me go.
I walk over to the portal and take a deep breath. "What are you going to do when you get home?" Spike asks.
"I don't know. But I'll be asking to go to bed as soon as I get there. I'm beat." I respond.
I step into the portal, expecting to be out in maybe thirty seconds. However I go through another transformation. My hands and fingers meld together and morph into hooves. As do my toes and feet. I feel my breasts sink into my chest and my neck get longer. My hair changes shape and I feel a horn grow out of my head. My body changes into that of a pony. My clothes rip off and I feel a tail pop out of my bottom. Then I step out of the portal.
I'm on two legs and I quickly fall forward.
"Twilight!" Pony Fluttershy says happily.
"You're back!" Pony Rainbow shouts as she flies over to me.
"And you've got your crown!" Pony Rarity adds.
"Oh, we were so worried." Pony AJ says as they all give me a group hug.
"Sunset Shimmer, is she alright?" Princess Celestia asks.
"She's fine. I left her in good hands." I say.
"What are hands?" Rainbow asks.
I yawn and say, "I'd love to tell ya, but I'm really hungry and tired. Can I tell you in the morning?"
"Of course. We're so sorry. Here, I'll have the chefs make something for you." Cadance says.
I go to the dining room and eat with Spike and then go to my room. "What are you going to tell them?" Spike asks as soon as we get into the room.
"I don't know Spike. But I do know this. I need sleep and this is only the beginning." I say as I lay down. I fall asleep very quickly after I finish.
Author's Note
I can't believe it's been about six months since I published this, and now a section of it is finished. I'd like to thank, The Blue EM2 for proofreading and suggesting ideas, Godslittleprincess for the encouragement as I wrote this and the idea for Spike to find out that Katrina wasn't Twilight, Thunderous for the moral support, Cascaderapids for the idea I'm going to use in its sister story,
And Devious Dazzle for the kind words. I hope you all realize how much you all mean to me.
After begging my parents for months, they finally are allowing me, Seventeen year old Katrina Miller, to go to Brony-Con, as long as I stay with my sister Annabelle and keep her safe from creeps. Stepping in, I take a quick look at our cosplay costumes, Annabelle is cosplaying as Pinkie Pie while I'm cosplaying as my own character, Misty Rose, she has pink skin with blue hair with pink and purple streaks in it and her cutie mark is a blue and pink heart with a gold cross in the middle of it. I really should get to writing her fanfic someday. Our costumes are homemade and not 100% accurate. But Anna and I are so excited to be able to go that we don't mind. I put in my ear buds and play my favorite song, not My Little Pony, but a Contemporary Christian one. I just need u by TobyMac
Annabelle taps me on the shoulder and I turn off my music. "What?" I ask.
"Look over there Katie." I look where she's pointing. There's a merchandise booth with a Apple Bloom bow, a Scootaloo scooter and helmet, a Applejack Stetson hat, and a replica of Twilight's crown and journal that she uses to communicate with Sunset. Among other things.
"Cool. Let's see how much the Twilight Crown is Annie." I say grabbing her hand.
"Hello sir, how much for the Twilight Sparkle crown and journal?" I say.
"Twenty bucks for both."
Yeouch. "How about five apiece?"
"They're worth at least ten apiece." He says.
"How about six apiece?" I offer.
"Seven is the lowest I'll go."
"Deal." I say handing him the money and grabbing the crown and journal.
I then put the crown on my head "What do you think? I ask Annabelle.
"I think it's a little odd to have an OC wearing Twilight's crown, but it suits you." She says.
I smirk at her for a moment. "Thanks sis," I say, then I get a terrible cramp, like double over bad. "I gotta use the bathroom." I tell Annabelle and then rush to the bathroom. Just as I step inside I have another cramp. Then I feel like something's tightening around my midriff. Then it stops and then I feel my hips widen, I don't know about you, but I am no Barbie Doll. I'm not overweight or anything like that, but still, I'm average. Then it stops and before I have any time to recover I feel my chest get bigger. And then it stops. And then my arms and legs get longer and slimmer. I can barely walk on them. "Jesus help me." I pray. The last thing I remember is rubbing my hand on the sun on the notebook.
Author's Note
Welcome to my first fanfic. I was hoping to have another fanfic out first, but this one was ready first, so, here we are.
