Chapters Chapter 2: An imperfect impersonation
The morning after Cozy Glow hinted at a plan to impersonate Celestia, she, Tirek and Chrysalis were gathered together once more. Cozy Glow had just finished breakfast.
"So, what is this plan to impersonate Celestia you've hinted at?", Tirek asked Cozy Glow.
"Well, I think Chrysalis should impersonate her, encase her in a cocoon, and make an announcement to Twilight and her friends that Twilight will not become the new ruler of Equestria", Cozy responded happily.
"Sounds like a plan", said Chrysalis. "But how will we pull it off exactly?"
"We'll use Grogar's crystal ball to find out what Celestia is doing at the moment, then you can pose as someone who would have reason to request her presence and knock her unconscious. Once she is trapped in a cocoon and you've impersonated her, you can break Twilight's heart by expressing your disappointment in her to further show her that she cannot be Equestria's new ruler! This will also allow Tirek and I to steal ponies' magic without interference, and we can take over Equestria!", Cozy Glow said as she laughed maniacally.
"Hm, not bad! Not bad at all! Sounds like something I would come up with", Chrysalis said.
"Golly, what are we waiting for? Let's put our plan into motion!', Cozy exitedly said.
Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy went to Grogar's crystal ball and activated it. It showed Celestia and Luna at a museum together.
"What are they doing!?", Chrysalis and Tirek said in union.
"Doesn't matter. We have a princess to ponynap", Cozy Glow said.
As Celestia and Luna continued looking at exibits at the museum, a unicorn mare with a dark green color scheme and a four-leaf clover cutie mark walked up to them.
"Princess Celestia, I am one of the members of this museum's staff and there is a matter I wish to discuss with you outside", the unicorn said.
Celestia followed the unicorn outside the museum, where she made sure no one was watching them.
"What is the matter you wish to discuss with me?", Celestia asked.
The unicorn then promptly fired a powerful magic blast at Celestia that knocked her unconscious. She then reverted her disguise and revealed her true form: Queen Chrysalis, and laughed evilly before lifting Celestia onto her back and flying to Grogar's lair, which was near Equestria.
"She looks just as ugly as she was when I imprisoned her, Luna, and Cadance in Tartarus", Tirek said. Chrysalis and Cozy gave him slightly confused looks, but were amused at his insult towards Celestia.
"Congratulations, Chrysalis", Cozy praised.
Not long after, Celestia was once again trapped in a cocoon by Chrysalis like she had been three times before. To say that she was shocked when she woke up would be a big understatement, especially when she saw Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy.
"Now that we've ponynapped a princess, it's time to break another princess' heart!", Chrysalis said evilly before transforming into Celestia. She then flew out of Grogar's lair.
After she was gone, Cozy and Tirek turned towards the imprisoned Celestia and began taunting her.
"So, how does it feel to be trapped now like how you trapped me and Tirek?", Cozy Glow tauntingly asked Celestia.
"Besides, once Chrysalis has announced that Twilight will not be the new ruler of Equestria while disguised as you, I will start to steal magic again and take over Equestria and make you and everyone you care about suffer!", Tirek told Celestia.
Tirek and Cozy Glow laughed evilly.
Chrysalis (disguised as Celestia) returned to the museum, where she saw Luna.
"Where have you been all this time, sister?", asked Luna.
"Oh, I had a LOT of business to take care of with that staff member! But I think we can go back to the castle now", said "Celestia".
"Already? Okay then", said Luna.
"Celestia" and Luna flew out of the museum.
Meanwhile, at the Castle of Friendship, Twilight is talking to Staight Glimmer.
"I still haven't received a response from Cozy Glow yet. Maybe she decided not to respond because she refused to turn over a new leaf?", said Twilight.
"Calm down, Twilight", said Starlight. I'm sure she's just struggling on what kind of response to write. Though when she does respond, I imagine that it'll be a rude response".
"Haha, you're right", said Twilight. "Though I still can't believe she's do such a thing? What could have caused a young filly like her to become so evil? Maybe she was abused by her parents? Maybe her parents were killed? Maybe she was bullied a lot? Maybe she grew up in an abusive orphanage? OR MAYBE SHE'S JUST EVIL BECAUSE SHE LIKES BEING EVIL!?"
"Again, calm down, Twilight. I'm sure we can find out why she's evil soon enough. Though I still won't deny it'll likely take a long time", said Starlight.
Suddenly, they hear someone knocking at the door. Once Twilight opens it, the pony there is revealed to be a Royal Guard.
"Princess Celestia wants you to have this letter, Princess Twilight", he said before leaving.
"Strange, Celestia usually sends me letters via Spike", Twilight said before reading the letter. "Another emergency meeting in Canterlot?", she pondered.
Back in Grogar's lair, Tirek and Cozy Glow had just revealed their plan to Celestia and how they were freed from Tartarus.
"And when Chrysalis succeeds, Equestria will be ours!", Cozy Glow said.
"As for you, Princess Celestia. Soon you'll never know what happiness feels like ever again!", Tirek said.
Cozy and Tirek then engaged in evil laughter as Celestia was thinking "You will not get away with this..." in her head.
In Canterlot castle, the Mane Six were facing Princess Celestia. Princess Luna wasn't even there for some reason, which left them confused. Then again, they didn't know that "Princess Celestia" was still Queen Chrysalis in disguise.
"Twilight Sparkle", Chrysalis began in hopes of breaking Twilight's heart to further her and allies' plan to take over Equestria. "I am extremely disappointed in you, since you have failed Equestria".

Chapter 3: Breaking Twilight's heart
"Twilight Sparkle", Celestia began. "I am extremely disappointed in you, since you have failed Equestria".
There was a moment of silence in the Canterlot castle. None of the Mane Six could process what Celestia had just said.
"But... WHY, PRINCESS!?", Twilight screamed. "I helped save Equestria so many times already!"
"No, you have not", Celestia continued. "The defeats of Nightmare Moon and Discord were technically my doing, not yours", she said condescendingly. "And the defeat of Queen Chrysalis was done by Shining Armor and Cadance, the defeat of King Sombra was done by Spike and Cadance, the defeat of Lord Tirek was technically Discord's doing, and his brother Scorpan before him. Finally, the defeat of Cozy Glow was your students' doing while you were busy interrogating Tirek in Tartarus. So technically, you haven't really done anything for Equestria, and for that I will no longer be making you Equestria's new ruler", she finished.
"Okay, Princess Celestia. You are being WAY too biased and you are leaving out WAY too many details here", said Rainbow Dash.
"SILENCE!", screamed Celestia.
"No, Princess Celestia. Rainbow Dash is right. I WAS the one who reverted Nightmare Moon back into Luna, I also was the one who turned Discord BACK into stone. And Queen Chrysalis' defeat at the hooves of Shining Armor and Cadance? That was because I freed Cadance from the Canterlot caves. Tirek's defeat was caused by me sending him back to Tartarus. And finally, for Cozy Glow's defeat, my students said that they couldn't have defeated her if it wasn't for me, and I had personally confronted Cozy Glow following her defeat. I was also the one who defeated Sombra once more when he was ressurected", insisted Twilight.
"I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANY OF IT!", screamed Celestia in her Royal Canterlot voice. "You are not becoming the new ruler of Equestria and that is final! Now leave my sight or I will send you to Tartarus!"
Twilight began to cry.
"Yes, you're right, Princess. I'll leave", Twilight sadly said as she and her friends left Canterlot castle, though not before the rest of the Mane Six directed an angry glare at Celestia.
What they didn't know, however, was that "Princess Celestia" was actually a disguised Queen Chrysalis, who is conspiring with Lord Tirek and Cozy Glow to take over Equestria.
Still disguised as Celestia, Chrysalis smirked evilly after the Mane Six left and flew off.
That evening, in Grogar's lair, Chrysalis, who has resumed her true appearance, has brought an unconscious Luna, whom she had also lifted onto her back.
"I never thought I'd say this, but... congratulations on your success, Chrysalis", said Tirek.
"I knew I could count on you!", said Cozy Glow as she giggled happily.
"It was a piece of cake", said Chrysalis arrogantly.
Not long after, Luna was also imprisoned in a cocoon by Chrysalis, next to Celestia. She woke up and soon understood what had really happened.
"This is great, but how will we deal with the "Celestia and Luna are gone" issue? Twilight and her friends will likely come searching for them, and only we know where they really are", said Tirek.
"I can solve that. I'll transform into Celestia during the day and Luna during the night, since ponies don't usually see Luna during the day and vice-versa. I stole a magical amulet that Celestia and Luna possess that will help me raise the sun and moon", said Chrysalis as she showed Tirek and Cozy the amulet.
"Can I try using it?", said Cozy Glow exitedly.
"No", Chrysalis said bluntly. "But anyways, time for me to go back to the Canterlot castle, and the two of you can begin stealing magic. The real Celestia and Luna would try to find a way to stop you, but not me."
Chrysalis then transformed into Luna and flew out of Grogar's lair. Tirek and Cozy Glow turned towards the imprisoned Celestia and Luna.
"Soon, every creature in Equestria will bow down to me!", said Tirek triumphantly as he and Cozy Glow engaged in evil laughter once more.
"Okay, Tirek. It's time to start stealing magic", said Cozy Glow as she and Tirek left Grogar's lair, leaving Celestia and Luna all alone.
The next day, in the Castle of Friendship, Twilight remains heartbroken over "Celestia"'s denouncement of her while Spike and Starlight were comforting her.
"I don't understand why Princess Celestia would say all those awful things. Pinkie, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Applejack have lended me all the support they can, but it's still not enough", said Twilight as she continued to cry.
"You're right. That doesn't sound like Celestia at all. Wait a second...", Starlight came to a horrifying realization. "Twilight, how did Chrysalis' first defeat came to be?"
"I became suspicious of her behavior, since she, while disguised as Cadance, acted nothing like the Cadance I knew and love", replied Twilight.
"And the Celestia from yesterday, who expressed her disappointment in you, acted nothing like the Celestia you know and love, so I think that she was actually a disguised Chrysalis! After all, Chrysalis isn't imprisoned in Tartarus unlike Tirek and Cozy Glow", said Starlight.
"Starlight, you're RIGHT! Though I have to enlist the help of Luna and Starswirl the Bearded to determine whether or not the Celestia who expressed her disappointment in me yesterday is the real Celestia", said Twilight, unaware that Luna had already been captured by Chrysalis.
"Let's go!", said Spike.
That evening, Sandbar, the only pony of the Young Six, was walking through an alley all alone when he saw Cozy Glow and Tirek in front of him.
"Cozy Glow!? LORD TIREK!? Why aren't the two of you in Tartarus!?", yelled Sandbar.
"Golly, it's a long story", said Cozy Glow as she giggled happily. "But you'll find out soon enough", said Cozy Glow again as she smiled evilly at him.
Sandbar tried to run, but was caught off-guard when Tirek began draining his earth pony essence.
"I am Lord Tirek, and I am back!", said Tirek as he finished draining Sandbar's essence.
A weakened Sandbar just laid there, helpless to do anything, as Cozy Glow and Tirek walked away while laughing at him.

Chapter 4: Impersonating the Princesses/Stealing magic
The morning thereafter, Tirek and Cozy Glow continued to steal magic. They went to the EEA's workplace...
"You stand before the EEA, please state your buis-"
Chancellor Neighsay was stunned.
"COZY GLOW!? What are you doing here!? And who is that beside you!?"
"Hello there, Neighsay", Cozy Glow cutely greeted him.
"As for me, I am Lord Tirek, and I will take back what should have been mine long ago", Tirek stated as he drained the magic of everypony in the room.
Cozy Glow punched Neighsay in the face with her hoof, knocking him to the ground and giving him a nosebled.
After this, they returned to Grogar's lair, and continued to taunt Celestia and Luna.
"I am becoming more and more powerful!", gloated Tirek.
"And once we become the new ruler of Equestria, there will be no one to stop us because we have this!", Cozy Glow said as she revealed Grogar's bell. "Oh, what is this you ask? This is the ancient Bewitching Bell belonging to Emperor Grogar that holds immense power!", Cozy Glow continued as she laughed evilly alongside Tirek.
At the Castle of Friendship...
Twilight is talking to Princess Luna and Starswirl the Bearded. Of course, she is unaware that "Luna" is Chrysalis herself in disguise.
"I have enlisted your help because I have a huge problem. Yesterday, Princess Celestia expressed her disappointment in me for failing Equestria and renounced her decision to make me Equestria's new ruler", Twilight began. "However, Starlight Glimmer has speculated that Chrysalis may have captured Celestia and impersonated her, based on Celestia's cold behavior. Luna, being Celestia's sister, and Starswirl, with your immense wisdom, I need you to determine whether or not Celestia is truly Queen Chrysalis in disguise."
"We will help you, Twilight", Starswirl told her. "No matter what the cost."
"Yes, certainly", said "Luna". "But what do you expect us to do?"
"I expect you to, well, spend time with Celestia in Canterlot castle. Once you have gathered enough information to definitively determine whether or not Celestia is a disguised Chrysalis, please report that information to me", said Twilight.
"As soon as possible, I promise", said Starswirl, before he and "Luna" exited the Castle of Friendship.
Later, Chrysalis, who has since resumed her original appearance, meets up with Tirek and Cozy Glow in Grogar's lair.
"My plan has been working flawlessly so far, although Twilight's getting suspicious of me", Chrysalis said. "Something has to be done about that."
"I for one, am, getting SO MUCH POWER from draining magic from ponies!", Tirek boasted.
Cozy Glow just rolled her eyes.
"But I suppose that doesn't even matter. Also, I have plans to capture Princess Cadance, Shining Armor, and Flurry Heart once more, though I have to be careful to get destroyed by the Crystal Heart, which the crystal ponies could use against me", Chrysalis said.
"Then get to it", Tirek said.
"Perhaps not immediately, since I still need to formulate a proper plan first", Chrysalis told him.
"Then do it", Tirek said.
Later, Starswirl arrived at the door of Canterlot castle. "Celestia" (Chrysalis in disguise) greeted him, and invited him into the throne room, before ordering the Royal Guards present in the throne room to leave.
"Hello, Princess Celestia, I have a question to ask you", said Starswirl.
"Yes?", asked Chrysalis.
"What was the last lesson I taught you as your mentor before my disappearance?", asked Starswirl.
"Uh, to trust your friends?", Chrysalis wondered.
"WRONG! You are not the real Celestia!"
Starswirl fired a magic beam towards Chrysalis, but Chrysalis countered with another magic beam that knocked him unconscious.
Once again, Chrysalis returned to Grogar's lair as her true self and cocooned Starswirl next to Celestia and Luna, who can't stand being cocooned any longer.
"Who is he?", Cozy asked about Starswirl.
"Celestia's former mentor, apparently", Chrysalis responded.
That afternoon, in the Castle of Friendship, Twilight was speaking to "Luna" (still a disguised Chrysalis) and Starlight.
"I wonder if any of the Royal Guards noticed that both Celestia and Luna are gone back at the Canterlot castle when only Luna should be here. But oh well, they're useless", Chrysalis thought in her head.
"This is an emergency!", began Twilight. "Starswirl has gone missing, and I think Chrysalis captured him! Luna, have you seen Starswirl since this morning?"
"No, I have not", Chrysalis lied.
"Then we must search for him. Impersonating Celestia, capturing Starswirl, I feel like Chrysalis is planning something right under her nose", Starlight said.
Chrysalis cringed.
"Though I regret not being able to save her", Starlight continued. "Perhaps I should have said something more for her to take my hoof that particular instance. I also feel bad for taking her subjects and hive that time, even though she kinda deserved it."
"You better feel bad, you horrid sow", Chrysalis thought in her head.
Twilight nodded. "Luna, Starlight, are the two of you capable of finding out where Chrysalis hid Celestia and Starswirl after capturing them?", she asked.
"Yes", the both of them said in union.
"Am I going to have to work with this pathetic excuse of a unicorn?", Chrysalis thought in her head.
"Luna" and Starlight exited the Castle of Friendship.
After they are gone, somepony knocks at the door. Twilight opens it, and the pony there is Diamond Tiara.
"Princess Twilight, please help! I saw my parents get their essence stolen by none other than Lord Tirek! He had a Pegasus filly by his side, by the way. More and more ponies are getting their essence drained as well. Can you please fix the situation?", Diamond Tiara pleaded.
Twilight went silently and temporarily insane.
"Uh, of course, Diamond Tiara. I'll take care of the situation. You don't have to worry about it", Twilight reassured her. She wasn't able to reassure herself, though.
"Thank you, Princess Twilight. I am sincerely grateful", said Diamond Tiara as she left the Castle of Friendship.
That evening, at the Crystal Empire, Shining Armor and Princess Cadance are singing a lullaby to Flurry Heart when Chrysalis, disguised as Luna, suddenly arrived.
"Hello, Aunt Luna", Cadance greeted.
"Hello, Cadance. Can I play with the little one?", "Luna" asked.
"Sure. Isn't she adorable?", Shining Armor asked.
"She is", Chrysalis said as Flurry Heart smiled at her. "That's the last smile she'll ever display in her entire life", Chrysalis suddenly spoke with her actual voice, albeit whilst still taking Luna's form.
Chrysalis magically knocked Shining Armor and Cadance unconscious.
Not long after, Shining Armor, Cadance, and Flurry Heart were imprisoned in cocoons alongside Celestia, Luna, and Starswirl, though Flurry Heart was left in her mother's hooves by Chrysalis.

Chapter 5: New rulers of Equestria
The following day, Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow were looking at the cocoons containing Celestia, Luna, Starswirl, Cadance and Flurry Heart, and Shining Armor.
"I like them better this way", began Tirek. "No longer annoying, no longer a threat to our plans."
"Indeed, so do I. I really wish I could stay and admire the sight of their imprisonment but I must go back to Canterlot castle and impersonate Luna once more", Chrysalis said.
Chrysalis transformed into Luna and flew out of Canterlot castle.
Meanwhile, in the Castle of Friendship, Twilight is talking to her friends (including Spike and Starlight Glimmer).
"What do we do!? WHAT DO WE DO!?!? Tirek and Cozy Glow have escaped Tartarus, and they're working with Chrysalis!", Twilight began. "Worse, my brother, sister-in-law, and favorite niece are missing from the Crystal Empire, so Chrysalis must have captured them too along with Celestia and Starswirl!"
"Twilight, we defeated those villains before, and we'll do it again!", Rarity reassured her.
"Y-yes, I'm sure you're right, Rarity. Starlight, are you and Princess Luna having progress with defeating Chrysalis?", asked Twilight.
"I don't know, Twilight", responded Starlight. "Princess Luna's acting quite strange lately. She said she didn't need my help in exposing "Celestia", and yet Chrysalis is probably still doing evil as if Luna did nothing. I'll ask her about it."
Starlight teleported out of the Castle of Friendship.
"But what about Tirek and Cozy Glow? They're still on the loose!", said Rainbow Dash.
"We can get Discord to defeat them and send them back to Tartarus!", said Fluttershy.
"But what if he joins Tirek and Cozy Glow and turns against us again?", asked Applejack.
"Discord hates Tirek and learned the true value of friendship. I'll call his help", said Twilight.
In Ponyville, Tirek continued absorbing the essence of earth ponies, pegasi, and unicorns, getting larger and larger, while Cozy Glow watches with glee.
Suddenly, Discord teleported in front of them.
"So we meet again, Tirek", Discord scowled. "And aren't you the student who betrayed Twilight?", he said, looking down at Cozy.
"You got that right", Cozy Glow angrily said.
"How dare you aid those puny ponies return me to my imprisonment?", Tirek said.
"But you betrayed me!", Discord said as he conjured a living photo of Tirek literally stabbing Discord in the back with a sword. "Though I suppose that doesn't matter since you two are going back to Tartarus!"
Just as Discord prepared to send Tirek and Cozy Glow back to Tartarus (with Cozy Glow hiding behind Tirek in fear), Tirek levitated him into the air and sucked all his magic once again, drastically increasing his size even more.
It didn't take long for Discord to be trapped in a cocoon near Celestia, Luna, Starswirl, Cadance and Flurry Heart, and Shining Armor.
In Canterlot castle, "Princess Celestia" was having her breakfast. A Royal Guard came to her.
"Princess Celestia, a unicorn named Starlight Glimmer requires Princess Luna's presence. However, I couldn't find her anywhere, and nor could the other Royal Guards, so I wanted to ask you if you know where she is?", the Royal Guard said.
"I will get her myself. You are dismissed", said Chrysalis.
Once the Royal Guard left and Chrysalis made sure no one was watching her, she transformed into Princess Luna.
"Luna" met with Starlight Glimmer outside the Canterlot castle.
"Princess Luna, I wanted to ask you if you managed to take out Chrysalis?", Starlight asked.
"Starlight Glimmer", "Luna" began. "This is a matter I must speak with you in secret."
Once Chrysalis and Starlight went to a place they made sure no one was watching them, Starlight said:
"What is it that you wanted to tell me, Princess Luna?"
"I wanted to tell you that...", "Luna" began. "I can finally exact my revenge on you for stealing my kingdom", Chrysalis suddenly said with her actual voice.
Before Starlight's brain could fully process that, Chrysalis blasted her with a powerful magic beam that knocked her unconscious. She then transformed back into her actual look and let out an evil laugh.
Back in the Castle of Friendship, Twilight was repeatedly prancing back and forth.
"Calm down, Twilight", Spike began. "I'm sure Discord, Luna, and Starlight have defeated Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy and sent them to Tartarus already."
"But I kinda wanted to help Cozy Glow turn over a new leaf. I wonder if she saw at least saw the letter I sent her before escaping Tartarus with Tirek", said Twilight.
Suddenly, somepony knocked at the door. Twilight and Spike opened it, and there stood Starlight.
"Starlight, did you, Luna, and Discord defeat Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy?", asked Twilight.
"Yes, we did! Chrysalis knocked me unconscious, but Discord saved me from her and together, we managed to defeat her, Tirek, and Cozy and send them to Tartarus. It turns out that Chrysalis captured Luna as well", said Starlight.
Twilight and Spike let out huge sighs of relief.
"Starlight, I'm so proud of you! You saved Equestria twice! Where are Chrysalis' hostages, though?", asked Twilight.
"Well, I sort of had trouble freeing them from their cocoons, so I figured I'd ask you for help. Let's fly there so it'll be fast", said Starlight.
Twilight, Spike, and Starlight flew out of the Castle of Friendship, with Twilight and Spike using their wings, and Starlight using her magic.
"Starlight, why is your magic green?", Twilight asked with suspicion.
"Oh, I guess it's just a side effect of Chrysalis blasting me", Starlight said as she laughed nervously.
The three of them arrived at Grogar's lair. Twilight was shocked to find Celestia, Luna, Starswirl, Shining, Cadance and Flurry, Discord, Fluttershy, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie, and Applejack all encased in cocoons. But how come Starlight herself is one of the hostages?
"Starlight, how is it that- no", said Twilight.
"Oh yes", Starlight said evilly before transforming into her true form: Chrysalis herself.
Tirek broke through a wall with Cozy Glow, who waved at Twilight while smiling evilly. Without saying a word, he destroyed the cocoons Chrysalis' captives were in and sucked out the hostages' essence (except for Discord, who already had his magic stolen), including Twilight and Spike's, before imprisoning all of them in cages. He quickly grew to a humongous size, breaking through the roof of Grogar's lair.
"We have won", Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy said in union as they left. With no one to stop them, the villainous trio took over Equestria, making everypony bow down to them.
But the story isn't over just yet...

Chapter 6: Getting through to Cozy and Chrysalis
Things couldn't have been worse. Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy Glow have successfully disposed of Celestia and Luna, and have taken over Equestria for themselves. Tirek is going around destroying trees, Chrysalis has taken over the Canterlot and Crystal Empire proportions of Equestria (having the Crystal Heart under her control like King Sombra did), and Cozy Glow has made the School of Friendship her castle, and even enslaved all its students.
Though, Cozy Glow decided to pay Twilight a little visit in the remains of Grogar's lair a day after her and her allies' takeover of Equestria.
"Hello, headmare Twilight", Cozy Glow began. "I bet you're so sad now that I have taken over Equestria and you have lost everything!", she taunted as she let out an evil laugh.
"You monster filly!", Rainbow Dash said. "I thought we could trust you!"
"Ah, but you couldn't, professor Rainbow Dash. And again, I have taken over Equestria!", Cozy Glow said.
"Cozy Glow, seriously. Why are you doing all of this!?", Twilight said, practically begging for an actual answer.
"WHY!? To get back at the world for how it treated me, that's why!", Cozy Glow yelled.
"Wait, what!?", Twilight asked.
"You really don't know me do you? You never even contacted any "parents" of mine when you helped Princess Celestia and Luna imprison me in Tartarus", Cozy began as Celestia and Luna scowled at her from their cages. "My parents died when I was a newborn, and I was sent to an orphanage. They treated me horribly there, barely feeding me, constantly beating me up, not letting me have any fun, allowing bullies to torture me routinely. I escaped and moved to Ponyville myself and enrolled myself at your school, and decided that the best way to deal with the pain is to turn evil and unleash it upon those around me, which is why I imprisoned you in Tartarus and tried to get rid of all those who got in my way", Cozy Glow then explained.
"Cozy... I had no idea", Twilight wimpered.
"Well, you SHOULD have. And you could have helped me, but you didn't, and I have taken over Equestria!", Cozy Glow said as she laughed evilly.
Twilight was baffled. "Are you sure I didn't help you, Cozy Glow!? Because I seem to recall having treated you extremely kindly, made you my number one assistant, and encouraged you to make friends that will treat you well. I put an end to your life of misery, and imprisoning me in Tartarus and later here is how you repay me!?", Twilight complained.
"YES! Wait, no... NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!!!", Cozy Glow yelled as she suddenly had a powerful realization. Even if she didn't know of her tragic backstory, Twilight still treated Cozy Glow kindly no matter what, and look how Cozy Glow repayed Twilight. There was no excuse for Cozy Glow's atrocious actions.
As she had her mental breakdown, Cozy Glow suddenly broke into tears. Not the fake tears she was so fond of, but REAL tears of remorse.
"Twilight... I'm sorry. I'm so sorry", Cozy Glow regretfully said.
After crying for 10 more minutes, Cozy Glow decided to make up for her past crimes by freeing every creature from their cages.
"Every creature, wait right here", Cozy Glow said. She later returned with Grogar's Bewitching Bell and used it to restore Twilight's essence and power.
"Cozy Glow, I forgive you", Twilight said as she pulled her former star student in for a hug.
"But... what about the rest of us?", Shining Armor asked.
"I'll get Tirek to restore your power to all of you WILLINGLY", a reformed Cozy Glow reassured.
"But", Luna said. "That is impossible!"
"I'm his friend", Cozy said. "I can get through to him. But first, Twilight and I need to get through to... Chrysalis."
"Well", Celestia began. "Good luck. The fate of Equestria falls into the hooves of the two of you", she weakly said.
Cozy Glow nodded. She and Twilight left the remains of Grogar's lair.
Later on, the two of them where outside the throne room of Canterlot castle. Chrysalis had destroyed Celestia and Luna's thrones and created her own.
"Twilight, I think it's best that you stay here while I go talk to Chrysalis. I'll give you this", Cozy Glow said as she gave Twilight the Bewitching Bell.
"But... are you sure that you'll be okay?", Twilight asked.
Cozy Glow didn't say a word. She just entered the throne room. "Hi, Chrysalis!", she said.
"Oh, it's you", Chrysalis said with a tone of slight annoyance. "Why are you here?"
"Well, since you are my friend, and friends aren't supposed to keep secrets from each other, I just wanted to ask you how you got the idea that the magic of friendship was a disease and that you should be a ruthless queen to your subjects", Cozy Glow said.
"Well, if it means you're going to leave my presence, and since I'm going to destroy Thorax and take back my subjects tomorrow anyways", Chrysalis began. "I'll explain it to you. When I was small, my parents imposed a harsh judgement on me that I should be a ruthless queen to my subjects who sought to conquer kingdoms, and every time I didn't conform to their extremely high standards, that would magically blast me."
Cozy Glow gulped. "You mean the holes in your legs... are your own parents' doing?"
"Yes. They also forced me into believing that the magic of friendship was worthless, and I held that belief even after they died", Chrysalis continued to explain.
"Well, do you think they were wrong to have blasted you whenever you would not conform to their standards?", Cozy Glow asked.
"Of course! No child should have to be treated by their parents like that!", Chrysalis insisted.
Cozy Glow had considered calling out Chrysalis' hypocrisy, but she ultimately decided against it. "So what makes you think they were right to make you believe you should be a ruthless queen to your subjects?"
"Well... wait, no! NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!!!", Chrysalis screamed loudly.
"But it's not too late. You can be the ally Equestria needs. You can be the leader your subjects deserve", Cozy Glow encouraged as she revealed her hoof for Chrysalis to hold.
Chrysalis had considered smacking it away like she did with Starlight's hoof, but knowing Cozy Glow was right, she took Cozy Glow's hoof and smiled.
Chrysalis then proceeded to share her love with Cozy Glow, giving her a beautiful blue-green new form without any holes. Twilight suddenly revealed herself.
"Twilight?", a now reformed Chrysalis asked. "So you were the one who reformed Cozy Glow?"
"Indeed. And I'm proud of you two", Twilight said.
Chrysalis and Cozy Glow blushed.
"Now there's one more friend we need to reform", Cozy Glow said. "Tirek."

Chapter 7: Talking Tirek down
Twilight, Chrysalis, and Cozy Glow looked at the devasting sight before them: Tirek continued to blast and destroy trees.
"I'll reason with him", Cozy Glow said.
"What!? No! He'll destroy you!", Twilight insisted
"He's my friend. Friends don't destroy each other", Cozy Glow said as she started to fly towards Tirek.
Twilight and Chrysalis just stood there with concern, the former holding Grogar's bell.
"Hey, Tirek!", Cozy Glow greeted as the GIANT centaur turned his attention to her.
"What is it, Cozy Glow?", Tirek asked with slight annoyance.
"Since friends aren't supposed to keep secrets from each other", Cozy Glow began as she giggled. "Oh golly, I just wanted to know why you and your worthless brother Scorpan decided to take over Equestria in the first place."
"Do you really want to know?", Tirek asked.
"Yes."
"Well, over a thousand years ago, Scorpan and I befriended a group of ponies from Equestria, and we introduced them to our family. Unfortunately, those "friends" turned out to actually be serial killers who murdered my entire family, including my dear Gram-Gram, so naturally, Scorpan and I decided to conquer Equestria and steal all of its inhabitants' magic. But SOMEHOW, Scorpan was guillable enough to STILL befriend ponies from Equestria and chose THEM over me, HIS OWN BROTHER, so of course I'd feel betrayed. The incident of my family's murder also convinced me that friendship was weakness, and I followed those killers' example when it came to manipulating Discord", Tirek explained
Cozy Glow couldn't believe what she just heard. She never expected any of that from Tirek, and nor did Chrysalis. Even Twilight, who had every reason to hate Tirek for destroying her Golden Oak Tree, couldn't help it but feel sympathy for Tirek when she heard his explanation of why he became evil.
Cozy Glow took a deep breath...
"Tirek... I'm sorry. I'm so sorry", Cozy Glow began. "However, I would like to ask you something. What makes you think you're any better than the killer ponies who murdered your family?"
Tirek pondered the question. "Well uh... I'm actually not sure. At all."
"And the reason Scorpan betrayed you was because he found value in the ponies of Equestria. The killer ponies who murdered your family were only a tiny fraction of the entire population of ponies, and the ponies he befriended weren't like them. Just like me, I may have been, well, evil, but other ponies aren't like me. Not to mention, that was over a thousand years ago, and ponies have been... better educated since then", Cozy stated. "I'm sorry it seemed to you like Scorpan betrayed you, but he found what the ponies of Equestria were REALLY like, and you could've done the same. After all, you befriended me, and I'm sure you don't see me as being similar as the ponies who killed your family, right?"
Tirek realized that Cozy Glow was nothing but right. Like her and Chrysalis before him, he started having an existential crisis. "Well... but... NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!!!", Tirek explained, as he then proceeded to willingly return all the magic and essence he stole: the Royal Sisters, Cadance, Shining Armor, Flurry Heart, Starswirl, Discord, the Mane Six, Spike, Starlight, and the ponies of Equestria all felt their magic returning to them. This caused Tirek to shrink back to his thin, shriveled form from when he was imprisoned in Tartarus, for he also gave up the magic Grogar used to power him up (though the magic isn't returned to Grogar).
As the sky turned blue once again, Tirek fell towards the ground, he and Cozy Glow, who was conforting him, saw Twilight and Chrysalis walking towards them.
"I'm so sorry", Tirek explained. "I'm so sorry for everything I did to you, Princess Twilight. How I destroyed your home, how I turned Discord against you, how I nearly killed you", Tirek apologized, on the verge of tears.
"Y'know Tirek, if I were to have given the likes of Discord, Starlight Glimmer, and Chancellor Neighsay another chance, I'd say it's only fair as I give you another chance as well", Twilight said.
"Thank you Princess Twilight. But what will happen to me now? Will I be sent back to Tartarus?", Tirek asked nervously.
"Cozy Glow, what do you think?", Twilight asked.
"I think he should go to the School of Friendship with me so he can learn more about the value of friendship and how it isn't a form of imprisonment", Cozy Glow replies
"Is that fine with you, Tirek?", Twilight asked
"Yes, it is", Tirek said
"And what about me?", Chrysalis asked.
"Well, perhaps you can become the ruler of the Changeling kingdom once more, but then you can co-rule alongside Thorax. How's that sound?", Twilight said
"Perfect", Chrysalis said. "And Twilight, I just wanted to give you this", she continued as she gave Twilight an amulet.
"What's this?"
"An amulet that will help you raise the sun and moon. Chrysalis and I decided that after the way you convinced us to turn over a new leaf today, you're more than deserving of becoming the new ruler of Equestria. And you can keep the Bewitching Bell, so you can use it against any potential future enemies", Cozy Glow responded.
"Thank you guys", Twilight said as she started crying tears of joy. "Thank you. Wanna be at my coronation?"
"Of course", Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow all said in union.
Later that day, Twilight and Chrysalis went to the Changeling kingdom, where they saw Thorax.
"Hello, Thorax", Twilight greeted. "You may be wondering who's this transformed changeling next to me, and she's actually Chrysalis. I helped her reform."
"No, really!? Chrysalis reformed!?", Thorax said with excitement.
Chrysalis turned to her subjects. "Changelings, I am so sorry I deliberately starved you for my own selfish ends. But I have changed. Will you accept me as your ruler once again alongside Thorax?"
The changelings all nodded and cheered. Chrysalis cried tears of joy.
"I'd love to co-rule alongside you, Chrysalis", Thorax said.
"Thank you, Thorax", Chrysalis said as Twilight smiled.

Chapter 1: Defeating Grogar
It was the morning after Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow had successfully retieved Grogar's bell. They didn't reveal this to him though, for they were planning to use the bell against him, take over Equestria, and go back to trying to destroy each other.
In Grogar's lair...
"So how do we use the bell to defeat Grogar?", Tirek asked.
"I remember how that dreadful evil copy of Twilight betrayed me", Chrysalis responded. "We'll plan our own... plan behind Grogar's back, try to find a way to use the bell against him, and use it to make Equestria ours!"
"And I can become Empress of Friendship like I wanted and make Twilight bow down to me", Cozy exitedly remarked.
"And I can finally get my revenge on Starlight Glimmer! I'll make her pay for stealing my kingdom, by destroying her!", Chrysalis laughed evilly while Tirek and Cozy Glow watched with slightly concerned looks on their faces.
"Right. And I can destroy Twilight for sending me back to Tartarus. When I get the magic that I absorbed back, the magic that was stolen from me, I'll be unstoppable!", Tirek exclaimed.
"You mean we'll be unstoppable?", Cozy asked.
"Didn't I say that we'll go back to destroying each other?", Tirek said.
"Oh, right", Cozy dryly said.
"It's great that we're plotting to overthrow Celestia and Luna, but don't you think we should go back to discussing how to use the bell against Grogar?", Tirek quipped.
"WHAT DID I JUST HEAR!?", Grogar screamed as he suddenly showed up.
Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy froze in terror, sweating heavily.
"HOW DARE YOU!? TIREK AND COZY GLOW, I FREED YOU FROM TARTARUS! AND CHRYSALIS! I GAVE YOU A HOME! AND THIS IS HOW ALL OF YOU REPAY ME!?", Grogar screamed in fury.
Tirek and Chrysalis had never been nearly this terrified in their lives. They were scared for their lives...
Cozy Glow was scared too. But she knew what to do. Grogar's bell was right next to her. So she grabbed it, and before Grogar could kill her, she shook it, which fired a deadly blast at him. Not even Cozy herself really knew what she did.
Grogar hurt his back, but he was otherwise unharmed. "YOU STUPID LITTLE FILLY! I'LL SHOW YOU WHAT A REAL BLAST LOOKS LIKE!"
He tried to blast Cozy and teleport the bell to him... but nothing happened.
"WHAT!?", he yelled. He tried it again, but nothing happened.
Cozy Glow's shocked reaction quickly turned into an evil smirk. "I fired the blast with the intention of erasing all your magic when it hit you. Looks like it worked after all", she taunted.
"No", Grogar wimpered. "NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!", he continued. Cozy Glow covered her ears! "I SPENT MILLENIA BECOMING POWERFUL AGAIN! MY MAGIC CAN'T BE GONE!", he insisted.
"Oh, but it can, and it is", Tirek said. "Cozy Glow, give me the bell."
Cozy Glow reluncantly gave the bell to Tirek. "It's over Grogar, you're not in charge anymore", Tirek said as he shook the bell, which caused a portal to appear behind Grogar that led to the region inside Tirek's own former cage in Tartarus.
"YOU FOOL, I FREED YOU FROM THAT PLACE! YOU CAN'T SEND ME THERE!", Grogar continued to insist.
Ignoring him, Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy Glow let Grogar get sucked into the portal, imprisoning him in Tartarus, as the portal closes.
"Well, that's taken care of. It was much shorter than I expected", Cozy remarked.
"You're welcome", Tirek said.
"If this bell is powerful enough to deprive a powerful being like Grogar of his magic, then we can easily use it to do what we wanted to do for so long. Take over Equestria!", Chrysalis exclaimed.
"Yes, and we can make all of our enemies suffer! I have a select number of those I want to send to Tartarus, and a select number of those I want to kill!", Tirek stated.
"As for me, the first thing I'll do once I become Empress of Friendship is make those stupid Young Six members suffer!", Cozy yelled.
"Who are they?", Tirek and Chrysalis both asked.
"A group of six creatures who defeated me. They comprise of Ocellus: a changeling, Gallus: a griffon, Yona: a yak, Sandbar: an earth pony, Smolder: a dragon, and Silverstream: a hippogriff", Cozy responded. "I might even get to pay Chancellor Neighsay a visit."
"Whoever they are, I hope you introduce them to us during our takeover of Equestria", Tirek told her.
"Oh, I will", Cozy Glow said as she happily giggled.
"Glad I'm not the one who holds a personal vendetta none of the others share", Chrysalis snarked.
"Oh, you aren't", Cozy said happily as she grinned evilly.
"Great, now that we've all "worked out our differences", I think that it's about time we discuss our revenge!", Tirek told Cozy and Chrysalis.
"But where do we start?", Cozy Glow asked.
"Maybe we can capture either Celestia and Luna and I can impersonate one of them?", Chrysalis asked.
"No. Grogar, who found out via his crystal ball, told us that they're going to retire soon, so impersonating them won't be as effective now as it would before", Tirek reminded her.
"Then maybe I can impersonate Twilight?", Chrysalis wondered.
"Do you know how to run a friendship school?", Cozy half-tauntingly asked her.
"No...", Chrysalis responded.
"Exactly. You can't impersonate Twilight", Cozy Glow bluntly told her.
"Then what are we supposed to do?", Chrysalis frustaratingly asked.
The villainous trio continued to wonder how they're going to begin their scheme to take over Equestria for the remainder of the day, to no avail. All of their previous schemes to take over Equestria have failed, and now they can't think of any new schemes that will remotely succeed.
It was evening.
"Maybe we should continue thinking tomorrow?", Cozy Glow asked Tirek and Chrysalis.
"It's no use", Chrysalis frustaratingly told her. "But I won't give up".
"Oh wait, I know what to do. It involves impersonating Celestia, but not in the way the two of you would expect", Cozy Glow said as she left to prepare dinner.
Chrysalis and Tirek just sat there, confused as to what she meant.

Chapter 1.5: The wrong destination
He couldn't believe it.
Trapped in Tartarus. By his own minions. The ones he helped free. The ones who should fear him.
Those pathetic imbeciles...
Grogar remained in Tartarus the following day, inside Tirek's former cell. He saw a letter fly near Cozy Glow's former cell.
"Oh, what's this?", he pondered.
Grabbing the letter, he read it, and it wrote:
"Hello, Cozy Glow. This is Twilight Sparkle. In light of my upcoming ascension to becoming the new ruler of Equestria, I wanted to talk to you. The descision to imprison you in Tartarus was Celestia and Luna's, not mine, and while I don't want to shift the blame onto them or anything, I want you to know that not even I find your imprisonment in Tartarus to be the best course of action. I know this is very, very late since you've been in Tartarus for months now so forgive me. And while we're on the subject, since I gave Discord and Starlight Glimmer a second chance, I think it's only fair that I give you one as well, especially since you're just a foal. And I am not alone. Starlight, the Cutie Mark Crusaders, and your fellow students are also keen on the idea of you being reformed. I don't want to brag but it seems like I really influenced them with my friendship lessons. I hope you at least bother to take my words into consideration, and I hope to hear (well, read) a response soon via the paper I gave you.

Grogar promptly tore the letter up into tiny bits and went to sleep.
